Before the winter vacation even started, I started to plan my schedule with my children. There was no arrangement to return to my hometown during the Spring Festival, so there was relatively sufficient time. "So, should we go south or north?" the child replied,"Go north." Then it is Beijing! The decision was simple, but the next trip was a bit challenging.

I have visited the capital Beijing several times on business, but I have not been there for special tourists. Winter is the off-season, but I am also worried about the winter in Beijing. Although I am from the north, I have no concept of cold winter in the south for decades.

Regarding the itinerary, it is usually more challenging. My wife repeatedly tells me not to be too tired and to take care of the children for fun and education! Alas, this difficulty is still quite high! Beijing has a long history. As the saying goes,"A thousand years of history look at Beijing." The Forbidden City, the Great Wall, the Chinese History Museum, the Chinese Military Museum, the Summer Palace, Peking University and Tsinghua University, there are too many places I want to visit, but the time is only three days. Of course, we must also set aside time to taste Beijing's specialties.

After several discussions, preliminary plans were made for the next three days, with the focus on the Forbidden City and the Great Wall. The children didn't care, as long as they visited the high-speed rail and hotels, they would be satisfied.

I also booked my trip to the Forbidden City and the Great Wall on Ctrip in advance. Convenient and fast, make an appointment, book hotel and high-speed rail tickets, and wait for the departure! For the first two days of the trip, my wife also specially prepared thick clothes. The luggage of the two was basically clothes. After looking at the temperature in Beijing, it was minus 8 degrees!

Historical tour or food tour?

The high-speed train lasted 5 hours, and I chatted with the children all the way. The 5 hours passed in the blink of an eye. Winter in Beijing is particularly cold! The outdoor temperature is minus 8 degrees, so put on all the clothes you can put on. Go to bed early because you have to get up early the next day.

The Forbidden City, which has been known for a long time, always feels that the Forbidden City is very big. The number one palace in China should be majestic, allowing people to feel the majesty of history in it. When you go to the Forbidden City in winter, adults usually bring children to visit the Forbidden City during the holidays.

Following the guide, Meridian Gate, Taihe Square, and Taihe Hall, each hall has its own story! Even the big copper water tank at the door has a different legend.

Similarly, I also feel the exquisite craftsmanship of the Nine Dragons Wall. However, the story of the stolen beams and replacing pillars on the Nine Dragons Wall also makes people feel the other side of history.

Three hours, just a quick look. So I continued to go south to the National Museum with my children without doing any strategies. The two people in the huge museum were like headless flies, and there was no special gain! It also ended hastily.

The time was also right to watch the flag lowering. At 17:35, the national flag guard arrived on time and began to lower the flag. The first day ended like this? Haha, you are wrong. There are also dinner arrangements. Let's go with Peking Duck!

The next day, we set off before dawn and transferred from the subway to the bus! Mutianyu Great Wall, here we come!

The weather was quite strong and surprisingly good. The mountains of Mutianyu are matched with winter snow, not only you can feel the winter depression in the north, but also you can feel the cold in the mountains in the north.

Dinner was Beijing's specialty hot-pot pork, and the fried tripe near the Drum Tower was deaf. The two of them didn't dare to order too much. Fried tripe, hot-pot pork, special barbecue sesame cakes, and sour plum juice! I was actually a little full.

Moreover, on the way to the subway, I actually ran into another Beijing specialty food, the Lu Cooking in Menmu Hutong. Although I am not hungry, I still want to try it!

The third arrangement is relatively relaxed because it is a return trip. It is just a three-hour tour of the Chinese Military Museum. Introduction to China's military history, firearms exhibition, heavy weapons exhibition, introduction to China's military development... too much content, too little time. It really takes most of a day!

The return journey from the high-speed train in the afternoon was also smooth, and I arrived home at eight o'clock in the evening!

The three days of Beijing's hasty arrangements passed in the blink of an eye. I was fortunate to have returned home safely before the outbreak, and the epidemic became serious on the third day I arrived home.

After a hasty trip, I felt the size of Beijing and the number of museums! Three days are just part of the itinerary. Even the children lamented and would come next time. Of course, I am also thinking about Beijing's delicious food.
