June 19, 2021, two-day self-driving tour in Fangshan District, Beijing City
At 7 o'clock in the morning on June 19, 2021, our husband and I set off from Tianjin on time and drove to Zhoukoudian Peking Man Ruins Museum in Fangshan District, Beijing City, and arrived at 9:15. Enter the museum at 9:20 and leave at 10:10. The museum is not big and the exhibitions are average. After coming out, we walked to the Ruins Park, which is 500 meters apart. Parking in the ruins park is charged, and parking in the museum is free. In fact, there are many free parking spaces on both sides of the road outside. The ruins park is quite good. It is a small hill. It took 1.5 hours to play and has caves at the original excavation site. After coming out, we drove to Yunju Temple and arrived at 13:10. Yunju Temple closed at 4 p.m., and the clearing began at around 15:40. At 13:30, we began to follow the explanation all the way, and it took an hour to explain it. At first, we planned to go to Shijing Mountain next to it. Shijing Mountain would not be allowed to go up the mountain after 3 p.m. I heard that it would take 2 hours to go up and down Shijing Mountain. So, we canceled the original plan, re-visited Yunju Temple, and we didn't come out until the clearing was completed. Then, we drove to Shangfang Mountain, which was not allowed to go up the mountain after 4 p.m., so we decided to move into a farmhouse on the spot. Shangfang Mountain is at the east gate, Yunshui Cave is at the west gate, and there are a large number of farmhouses near Yunshui Cave. The next day, we took the cable car from Yunshui Cave to the mountain at 8:30 on time, and we were the first tourist to enter Yunshui Cave that day. We walked down the mountain and didn't take the cable car from Shangfang Mountain. The ladder was actually only 262 steps, which was not much difficulty. It was 12:20 when we arrived at the Shangfang Mountain Pass and played for almost 4 hours. The mountains are very cool. Tip: If you stay at a local farmhouse, you will get discounts on parking and cable car fares. We drove to Nanjiao Shuiyu Village at around 12:50. Arrive at 14:20. We didn't know it at first. If we parked our car in the central square (village committee), we could actually drive all the way to the reservoir above. We walked there and the reservoir was not big. When we got down, we got a ride from a kind-hearted person, saving us the hard work of walking. Nanjiao Shuiyu Village, mainly an ancient village where you play, is entered through a small entrance in the supermarket. This village is also average, not as distinctive as the several stone villages we have visited before. We returned from the local area at 16:10 and arrived home safely at 19:00 sharp. The entire journey is 462 kilometers. Gas stations around Beijing have no discounts at all, not cheap.
On the first day, Tianjin-Zhoukoudian Peking Man Site Museum-Yunju Temple-Yunshui Cave, stayed in Yunshui Cave Farmhouse that day
The next day, Yunshui Cave-Shangfang Mountain-Nanjiao Shuiyu Village-Tianjin
The following are the tips I made before traveling for reference only.
4A Zhoukoudian Peking Man Site Museum, No. 1 Zhoukoudian Street, Zhoukoudian Town, southwest of Fangshan District, Beijing City, is a scenic spot built from the Zhoukoudian Peking Man Site, mainly composed of museums, heritage parks and natural scenery. The scenic spot is about 50 kilometers away from the center of Beijing City and is suitable for tourists who love history. Peak season: 09:00-16:00 (April 1-October 10) Low season: 09:00-15:30 (October 11-March 31 of the following year) The museum provides two voluntary explanation services to the audience every day.
The scenic area is now mainly divided into two parts. One is a museum, which displays the life scenes and development history of "Beijingers" through words, pictures, fossils, bones and cultural relics unearthed in many sites. There are also movies and interactive games, etc., which can be visited and played one by one.
The other part is the ruins park. Right behind the museum is a hill. You can see some cave ruins along the way, and you can view the living environment of primitive people at the entrance of the cave. In addition, the scenery along the way is also good. There are small canyons, waterfalls, etc., as well as the observation deck on the top of the mountain. You can all look around. It takes about 1.5-2 hours to complete the entire journey.
(It is recommended to get up and down the cable car, Shangfang Mountain 3A, Yunshui Cave 3A, and Yunju Temple 4A.) Shangfang Mountain Forest Park 3A is 70 kilometers away from Beijing and is famous for its strange mountains, dense forests, secluded caves and ancient temples. The landscapes in Shangfang Mountain Forest Park not only include the famous "Nine Dongs and Twelve Peaks", but also the 72 Buddhist temples headed by "Tusita Temple". It is a combination of various landscapes such as forests, caves, temples, mountains and stones. Scenic area. There are rare primeval secondary forests and dozens of ancient and famous trees in North China. Historically, they are called the "Youyan Olympic Room" and enjoy the reputation of "Suzhou and Hangzhou in the south and upper parts in the north."
The park covers an area of more than 5300 acres, with rare trees and exotic flowers everywhere, and there are more than 100 kinds of medicinal plants alone. Polygonatum, Guizao dates and Chinese toon are the three major specialties of Shangfang Mountain, called "Three Treasures"; there are also thousands of years of ancient trees such as cypresses and cypresses on the mountain. Shangfang Mountain is a famous religious mountain. You can only reach Tousi Temple by climbing a ladder composed of 262 cliff stone steps. Other major attractions include Yidouquan, Wanghai Temple, Sutra Pavilion, etc.

Shangfang Mountain has a history of Buddhist culture for 2000 years and is a comprehensive national forest park integrating nature, Buddhism and karst caves.
The west gate of Yunshui Cave in Shangfang Mountain is on the west side of Shangfang Mountain National Forest Park. You can only take a cable car to get up and down. Overlooking the surrounding rocks from the cable car, the view is very beautiful. It takes five minutes to get off the cable car. When going down the mountain, you can walk down the mountain from the east gate of the mountain above. There are many steps, so it's best to take the cable car
You must take a shuttle bus when you enter from the east gate. It is recommended to take a taxi up the mountain from Yunshui Cave (50 yuan per person) and down the mountain from Shangfang Mountain, a big circle. You cannot walk down the mountain on the west gate, and you can only turn back without using a cable car. You can take the cable car (30 yuan per person) from the east gate of the mountain above you just over the ladder and the dense section of stairs. After the cable car comes down, there is still 3600 meters away from Yunshui Cave. The road is relatively easy to walk and there are no dense stairs. If so, the entire hike may take more than 4 hours. After exiting the west gate, take the F15 (3 stops) and return to the east gate.
Yunju Temple 4A is located in Fangshan District, Beijing City, about 70 kilometers away from the city center. It was built in the late Sui and early Tang Dynasties. It was initially named "Zhiquan Temple" and later renamed "Yunju Temple." Since ancient times, people have carved scriptures on the stone slabs of Yunju Temple, and the small mountain behind the temple is also named after it. Today's Yunju Temple is a resort for worshiping Buddha and praying for blessings. There is a lot of incense here. What is vivid is the fleshly Buddha relics found in the temple. Many pilgrims come here to pay homage and pray for themselves and their relatives. Providing incense in the temple requires purchasing incense from the temple, which is about 10 yuan. There are exhibition rooms with stone scriptures on the hill backed by Yunju Temple, and some of them are also displayed in the underground palace. You can stroll around and watch the stone scriptures at will. In addition, there is a thousand-year-old ancient tower on the back mountain. It was built in the Tang Dynasty and is full of vicissitudes and suitable for photography. All year round 09:00-16:00
Yunju Temple is one of the first batch of key cultural relics protection units in the country and a national AAAA tourist attraction. Its "three wonders"-stone scriptures, paper scriptures, and wooden scriptures, and the "four treasures"-Buddha relics, Tang and Liao ancient towers, copper Buddha, Yunju ancient clocks attract tens of thousands of tourists every year. The sculptures in the Tang Pagoda Cave in the Tenth Year of Kaiyuan are so beautiful! Moreover, there are Buddhas on three sides of its ticket hole! Of the other three Xiaotang Pagoda, most of the cave still has stone carvings on one side! Jiyue has a rolling leaf shape and very clear lotus petals. Some of them also have traces of painting. The four marble towers around the North Tower are from the Tang Dynasty.
Yunju Temple is located at the foot of Baibai Mountain in Fangshan District, Beijing, 70 kilometers away from the city center. Yunju Temple was built in the fifth year of Zhenguan of the Tang Dynasty (631). After successive repairs, it formed five courtyards and six palaces. In 1942, it was bombed and destroyed by the Japanese invading army. It underwent two large-scale repairs after liberation. Yunju Temple retains vast volumes of stone, paper and wood scriptures, especially famous for its 14278 stone scriptures. During the Daye period of Emperor Yang of the Sui Dynasty (605-618), Jing Wan, a monk from Zhiquan Temple in Zhuoxian County, Youzhou, followed his teacher's instructions and started the publishing and engraving of stone classics in Baibai Mountain. In subsequent dynasties, the engraving continued until the 30th year of Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1691). The stone scriptures are hidden in nine stone caves on Shijing Mountain and in the caves southwest of Yunju Temple. In the 1980s, two red body relics were unearthed in Leiyin Cave, Shijing Mountain. Commonly known as the Western Paradise. 450 meters above sea level. This is not only the place where the Fangshan Stone Sutra originated, but also the place where Buddha relics were unearthed. The 4196 pieces of Stone Sutra from the Sui and Tang Dynasties are important treasures of the country, with many historical relics represented by Leiyin Cave and Jinxian Princess Pagoda. What to visit in Yunju Temple: 1. Worship Buddha. Yunju Temple has a monk abbot. 2. Reading scriptures. When Yunju Temple goes out, it is related to the publication and printing of Buddhist scriptures. The most famous ones are the stone scriptures (the original site of the stone scriptures is located in Shijing Mountain). There are also paper scriptures, wooden scriptures, and aluminum scriptures, all of which have special physical exhibitions and introductions. 3. Pay homage to the Buddha's relics, which are said to have appeared from under the stone pagoda on Shijing Mountain. They are enshrined in Yunju Temple and can be paid close attention. 4. Look at the buildings, especially the stone towers, of different eras. There are also four Tang pagodas around-stone sculptures still exist in the niche. Among them, the Jingyun Second Year Tower was built in 711 AD and is the oldest known ancient tower in the capital.
Yunju Temple was built in 631 in the fifth year of Zhenguan of the Tang Dynasty and was founded by monk Jing Wan. By the Liao Shengzong period (983-1011 AD), five courtyards and six palaces were formed, which were repaired in the Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. Yunju Temple is famous for its stone scriptures, paper scriptures, and wood scriptures. There are two Liao pagodas facing each other in the north and south of the temple. The south pagoda is also called the Sutra Pagoda. There are Buddhist scriptures caves underground, but the pagoda no longer exists. The North Tower is a brick relic of the Liao Dynasty, also known as the "Arhat Tower". It was built during the Tianqing Period of the Liao Dynasty (1111 - 1120) and is more than 30 meters high. The tower body integrates three forms: pavilion style, bowl style and Vajra throne. The shape is extremely special.
Gushanzhai Scenic Area is located in Qidu Village and is named after three isolated peaks. There are many geological wonders in Shidu Gu Mountain Stronghold, which are a concentrated reflection of Shidu's geological changes over millions of years. Shidugu Shanzhai is a well-known grand canyon in Shidu Scenic Area, with a depth of about 10 kilometers. Walking into the canyon, you will see mountains on both sides and rocky rocks. The deeper you go, the more steep the mountains are, the narrower the canyon is, the more lush the vegetation is, and the more beautiful the scenery is. Flowers bloom all year round in the canyon, and the fragrance is charming. Wandering around the isolated mountain village, you can enjoy the wind moving in the forest, insects chirping among the rocks, the green colors emerging from the mountains, and the sweet springs moisten the piano music. Shidugu Stronghold is surrounded by scenery every step, and the seasons are picturesque. In early spring, mountain flowers are blooming; in summer, greenery are dripping and spring eyes spray, and the temperature here does not exceed 25 degrees Celsius; the autumn wind brings refreshing, maple coggymas are like fire, and persimmon trees stir on the branches; in winter, snow is covered and pine trees are dotted with green. The tourism resources here are unique, including a "line of sky", where the legend of "splitting mountains to save the mother" has been passed down for ages. There are also landscapes such as "Gate Welcome Guests","Fairy Bath Pool","Jiulong Bouldering Rock","Five Lao Peak","Eternal River Bed","Washing Heart Pond","Stone in the Stone","Yinchuan Ice Valley","Xishuitan","Ge Flowing Spring" and other landscapes. Your eyes are full of beautiful strange stones. 08:00-17:00 all year round.
(Not recommended) The battery car in the scenic area ends at the fork and drives about 800 meters. Even from the outside of the door, it will not exceed 1km. ¥ 10 per person, and you can bargain with ¥ 5. It only took 5 minutes to walk. Take a break to the bathroom. At the end of the battery car, there are two roads at the entrance. One side leads to the waterfalls, and the other side is a line of sky. I must choose the first line of sky. Climbing along the thousand-year river bed, I can look at Xiaogu Mountain, the thousand-year-old vines and the highlight of the first line of sky. It is known as the largest first line of sky in North China. It is indeed very long and deep. After climbing the mountain for a long time, I can cool off by the way! If you go further, you will find Xiaogu Mountain. Next to where tourists stop, you can take a nap or eat here, but it is a little sunburn at noon. Or if you walk further, there is a pavilion with the best scenery. The highlights are the ancient river bed and the line of sky. The mountains are not high and climbing is not too tiring. The stone mountains are a bit hard. It is best to bring a crutch to protect your joints. There is a waterfall group on the other road at the entrance. Time is limited, so I didn't go inside, so I took a photo at the entrance. It is said that it is also an artificial waterfall. Don't go out when you get back to the gate. There is also a steel chain bridge at the gate worth visiting.
Zhangfang Ancient Battle Road is located in Zhangfang Village, Zhangfang Town, Fangshan District, Beijing City. It is an ancient battle road (tunnel) built during the Zhenzong period of the Northern Song Dynasty. The battle road is 4 meters deep from the ground, has a green brick structure, 2 meters wide, and a height of 2-3 meters. The green bricks are covered with the ground, with flowing water tanks and water tanks on the sides, desk lamps on the walls, and ventilation holes on the top. There are Tibetan soldiers rooms about 2 meters wide on both sides of the tunnel, with earthen kang rooms inside. The ancient battle road extends in all directions underground, winding and winding, leading to the Simen Tower of the ancient town. The initial survey was 1500 meters, but more than 400 meters have been discovered and restored. During the confrontation between Song and Liao, due to the excellent military performance of the ancient war road, which was capable of fighting and defending, the Liao army of the Youzhou generation concentrated on defending and could not go south. The military performance of the ancient battle roads in the Ming Dynasty was further exerted. During the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, the Yuan Dynasty aristocrats fled to Mobei, Mongolia, but from time to time invaded the border south. The ancient war road became a military fortress for the Ming army to fight against Mongolia. According to Fangshan County Annals: "Seventy miles southwest of the county, the third floor gate of the north building of Zhangfang Street faces south and can be several feet high. The lower floor is empty, but the middle is very dark. There is a tunnel at the lower floor leading to Ren's tomb about two miles northwest. It is said that Ren is a Pavilion Elder. There is a well halfway from the lower floor to the middle floor. Legend has it that there are sword trees in the well, which are rammed into it without physiological activity. The statue of King Biyuan is sculpted in the middle. The upper floor can be viewed into the distance, and the upper and middle floors also have tunnels. Zhangfang not only has the ancient city and ancient town buildings, but also the Tianqing Pagoda of Da Liao Dynasty, which complements the Tiesuo Cliff of the Juma River and the mountainside of Sun Bin. It is lined with Yunju Temple, Zhongshan Temple, Huanggutuo, Xiasi Tang Pagoda, Zhenjiang Yingta, Zhaotou Pagoda, etc., welcoming tourists from all over the world and sharing the profound and profound Chinese civilization. It was discovered in 1991 and is now more than 400 meters long after renovation and opening to the public. The tunnel is relatively spacious and very cool in summer. There are not many tourists even on weekends. Admission is 45 yuan.
Dougezhuang Tower is located in the west of Dougezhuang Village, Qinglonghu Town, Fangshan District, Beijing City. It was built in the Ming Dynasty. The ancient tower faces west to east and is about 15 meters high. It is an octagonal brick tower with dense eaves. Three layers of brick carved lotus petals are built at the upper end of the Sumi seat, and the eight-sided brick carved with the eight treasures of wheels, snails, umbrellas, covers, flowers, cans, fish and intestines are no longer visible due to severe weathering. Except for the arched rolling door on the front, the other sides are brick carved imitation wood doors and windows. A major feature of this ancient tower is that it uses many lotus flowers as decoration: the entire tower is supported by three layers of lotus flowers on the base, and the center of each two eaves is decorated with symmetrical lotus petals, which are then capped with lotus flowers. It is very exquisite and beautiful. Now the entire tower is basically intact, and devout believers often come here to worship. Open all day, free
Nanjiao Shuiyu Village is located in Nanjiao Township, Fangshan District, 80 kilometers southwest of Beijing City, 8 kilometers away from National Highway 108.
Yijiao Township, Shuiyu Village is 52 kilometers away from the original area of Yingu Cave of the National Shihuadong Geopark. There are currently 436 households and 1031 people. Among them: 141 households. The population is 295; the village branch consists of 5 people; the village committee consists of 3 people; the economic and trade association consists of 3 people; the three teams serve in cross-section, with an average age of 48 years. There are 57 party members in the village, with an average age of 61. In 2003, the village's total economic income was 16.19 million yuan, including: collective income of 290,000 yuan, self-employed income of 15.9 million yuan, and per capita labor income of 3980 yuan. The village has a cultivated area of 1714 acres, of which 1528 acres are returned to forests, and the main fruit trees that have been returned to farmland are chestnut and persimmon. A total of 45840 young trees were planted, including 19730 adult fruit trees, including 8000 persimmon trees, 11500 walnut trees, and 230 chestnut trees. There is also 4380 acres of forest, of which: the Shuiquan Back Forest still maintains its original form and has certain tourism development value.
Shuiyu Village is a deep mountain village. The village is distributed along a northwest and southeast ditch rock. The terrain is high in the southwest and low in the northeast, with an average altitude of 500- 800 meters. A reservoir of 100,000 cubic meters has been built in the south of the village, with water all year round; three wells and abundant water sources; tap water enters the street for drinking by people and livestock. A 4500-meter water diversion pipeline will be built around the mountain to divert reservoir water to irrigate young trees. The village naturally remains well. What is particularly valuable is that there are still 600 and more than 100 sets of courtyard houses from the Ming and Qing Dynasties in the village located on the east gentle slope of the village. They are all relatively complete at present. An S-shaped ancient road made of bluestone runs through the village. The village is circular and faces south and north. It is built against the mountains, forming a distinctive architectural style. Its representative buildings include the Yangjia Courtyard, Wengmen, Niangniang Temple, etc.
The Yang Family Courtyard is called "Landlord Courtyard" by the villagers. Located in Shuiyu West Mountain, it was built during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. The main construction is based on the northern style and is made of stone, with a pattern of four entrances and four exits; the gate building is unique, with Panlongmen Ridge, surrounded by stone carvings and flowers under the eaves, and two Qing Dynasty style stone drums stand on both sides. Weng Gate refers to the bridge hole of Dongwen Bridge in the village. A white stone is carved on it with the word "Ningshui" on the stone, which means that Weng Bridge is used to brush water and calm floods. In addition, the village is also a folk cultural tourist village named by the Beijing City Tourism Bureau. The well-known "Shuiyu Zhongfan" and "Big Drum Festival" are here. This year, the village invested more than 500,000 yuan in developing the tourism economy and placed 128 stone mills in the village to reproduce the ancient folk culture of the mountain village.
There are indeed many ancient villages in the suburbs of Beijing. Most people can think of the "Cuanxixia" village or the Qingshui Village that became popular because of where my father went. However, compared with these two villages that are gradually commercialized, Shuiyu Village is the real ancient village. Although it has been listed for re-planning, it has not been commercialized at all. In 2012, it was awarded the title of "Beijing's Most Beautiful Village", and in the same year, it was included in the first batch of "Traditional Chinese Ancient Villages List". It is very worthy of loving photography and young ladies who like to be photographed checking in to take photos. There are many elements: ancient houses, ancient mills, stone slabs, ancient trees, wooden doors, stone walls... There is no direct connection to the highway, and most of them take Jingkun Road. Parking Guide: There is a parking lot at the village committee, which is relatively spacious and not far from the scenic spots. Route arrangement: Starting from the village committee, a small river divides the village into the east and west sides. There are more scenic spots on the east side of the river, including famous stone mills, stone tablets, family noodles, horse tying stones, building platforms, etc., all the way uphill. You must search Shuiyu Village Folk Tourism Village for navigation. Because there are Shangshuiyu Village and Xiashuiyu Village, this one can be visited in Nanjiao Township. The recommended tour time is 2 to 2.5 hours
Shuiyu Village, the village was formed in the early Ming Dynasty. The entire mountain village still has more than 100 sets of old courtyards that are intact and simple and vicissitudes. When you settle in the mountain village, you can hear the chirping of chickens and dogs in the morning, and the chirping of birds and the fragrance of flowers. After tasting the farmhouse meals in the mountains, you can go to the ancient courtyard in the village to catch up with the villagers 'rehearsal programs. You can also stand up and cheer and enjoy it. There are three biggest attractions in Shuiyu Village: ancient houses, ancient mills, and ancient flags. The first impression of the ancient village is that it is a stone village, and the entire mountain village is full of stones. Slate roads, stone houses, stone mills, and courtyard walls made of stones. In this stone village, many residential buildings that have no longer had the smoke of fireworks are still preserved. Strolling through the ancient house soaked with time and time, people seem to have traveled through a tunnel of time and space, and are in an ancient era that is peaceful and isolated from the world. Stone mills of different ages can be seen in every corner of the village. The villagers told us that there are 128 stone mills in the village, and we can still see the stone mills working on their posts to crush corn. Although the stone mills look the same on the outside, if you look carefully, you will find that the details are really different, and the era in which each plate of mills is located is also different. Shuazhong Banner reached its extreme in this ancient village. Shuazhong Banner was originally a folk activity in the past to pray for rain and blessings. The villagers of Shuiyu Village gradually evolved this activity into a collective performance, passed down from generation to generation, making it an intangible cultural heritage of Beijing City. Villagers can be seen rehearsing and performing every day in the village.
Wanfotang is built next to the mountain. At the entrance of Wanfotang Village, Hebei Town, Fangshan District, there are 3 temples, which are made of green bricks. The hall was built in the Tang Dynasty. It was once called "Dali Zen Temple" and is now called "Dali Wanfo Longquan Hall". It was rebuilt during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. On the walls of the hall is a huge embossed of the "Ten Thousand Bodhisattva Dharma Meeting Picture" inlaid in the fifth year of the Tang Dynasty, which is 23.08 meters long and 2.47 meters high and engraved with 31 pieces of white jade. The characters have different expressions and lifelike expressions. It is a rare Tang Dynasty embossed art treasure in my country. Below the Wanfo Hall is a naturally formed karst cave-Kongshui Cave. There is a spring in the cave, the water is turbulent, and its source is unfathomable. One of the eight scenic spots in Fangshan, the "Kongshui Floating Boat", points to this place. There are steles at the entrance of the cave, and there are carved scriptures and stone Buddha statues from the Sui and Tang Dynasties on the rock walls in the cave. In 1982, the Kongshui Cave once dried up, and seven little golden dragons were unearthed during dredging, adding mystery to the cave. Under the Wanfo Hall is the famous Kongshui Cave, which is a huge cave developed in the Ordovician limestone area. There are springs in the cave and the water is surging. The four fronts of the octagonal tower body are built with ticket doors, and the south gate allows for access to the tower chamber. The other three sides are fake doors, and there are embossed statues of Bodhisattva and strong men on the outer wall of the tower.
