For some reasons, we cannot take the annual holiday in August this year. The plan to travel with Xiaobao can only be adjusted to July. August has August's freedom, and July has July's scenery. It's not bad.
In this way, the July trip was settled.
However, the choice of destination still made me think. Xiaobao wanted to go to Ningxia to join a study group, but because he had not decided, the time available was not very good. I felt that last summer's trip to Gansu and Qinghai was not much different from Ningxia. In addition, I was not confident in taking care of Xiaobao alone, so I had to give up.
Xiaobao will be in first grade next year, so let's go to Beijing and visit our capital. The itinerary is roughly fixed.

1. D1: July 10
At 7:00, the G350 is planned to leave at 6:20 based on previous delivery experience. There was still a lot of rain in the morning. I called for T3 to go downstairs, so I waited for a while at the entrance of the community. The master was not very familiar with the route, and two traffic lights were added on the road. The traffic jam changed from the previous smooth flow and there was a little traffic jam. He trotted all the way to the ticket gate, and had already begun to check in.
Because the tickets were bought a little late, the two tickets were arranged in different carriages. Fortunately, the next seat was a kind old man, who was very understanding and changed his seat as he wished. The children happily shouted "Thank you, Grandpa, thank you."
It seems that this should be a good start.
The afternoon weather in Beijing is a bit sultry. Beijing West is still not much different from what it was more than ten years ago. Except for the subway, it feels familiar. After changing two subways, I finally arrived at Ningxia Building. Ningxia Building is actually not far from Andingmen Subway Station, a few hundred meters, but firstly, it is with children, secondly, the weather is hot, thirdly, it is with luggage, and the sidewalk is relatively narrow and the road is not very familiar. It is estimated that it took more than 20 minutes to walk.
After settling down, the children excitedly shouted to go to Tiananmen Square.
1.1. Tiananmen Square
Tiananmen Square is located on the central axis of Beijing and is the central square of the Republic. Many national symbols such as the Tiananmen Gate Tower, the Great Hall of the People, the National Museum, and the Monument to the People's Heroes are located here. Various large-scale celebrations are also held here. The flag-raising ceremony every morning attracts countless tourists to pay homage.
Nowadays, as long as you enter the square, you must check in, swipe your ID card or report your ID number. Sometimes tour groups can use the temporarily opened VIP security channel.
There are also the Monument to the People's Heroes, the Memorial Hall of Chairman Mao, the Great Hall of the People, and the National Museum of China on Tiananmen Square.
1.2. Tiananmen gate
The Tiananmen Gate Tower is located at the northern end of Tiananmen Square. It is a symbol of Beijing and the great motherland. It is also a must-see place for every tourist coming to Beijing.
Perhaps it was unfortunate that the Jinshui Bridge had been surrounded by railings and was no longer allowed to leave. It was impossible to enter the tower or wait for the tower. But there were so many people everywhere that it was impossible to take photos without extras.
I originally wanted to watch the flag-lowering ceremony, but the flag-lowering time was 19:45 that day, which was a bit inconvenient, so I went back to the hotel to rest. Half a watermelon solved the problem of dinner and fruit that day.
2. D2: July 11
I had planned to stay at Xiyuan Hotel before, so I planned to make an appointment at the National Library and Planetarium. With great luck, I successfully grabbed 100 places in the National Library Children's Hall; but the Planetarium did not get suitable movie spots, so today's trip was very easy: the National Library Children's Hall, and then moved to the Bird's Nest to prepare for a trip to the Great Wall on Monday.
The environment and experience of the Children's Library of the National Library are very good. It is worthy of being a national map. Not only is the venue spacious and the facilities are complete, but it is very thoughtful for children. They are all ways that children like. I'm really embarrassed to say that this is the first time our Xiaobao has used iPad, but she can learn without a teacher and is much more familiar with it than I am.
In the afternoon, I picked up my luggage, ordered Didi, and went directly to the Bird's Nest Store of Hi Inn Hotel. I originally booked a twin room for two days, but the hotel didn't receive our order, so we just foolishly waited for the platform to communicate with the hotel. Later, the hotel said that they wanted us to pay cash at the platform price. The platform replied that we would either stay for one day and ask us to move to another place the next day, or we would find another place to stay and compensate the first day's room charge. Of course, I finally chose to stay at Lufeng Hotel not far away.
Heavy rain warnings were being issued everywhere, so Monday's trip to the Great Wall naturally had to be cancelled.
3. D3: July 12
It rained all night. The rain in the morning was not too heavy, but it was not suitable for walking far.
After breakfast, when the rain subsided, I shouted Didi and went out to the Summer Palace.
I rented an electronic tour guide, put on a poncho, and carried an umbrella, and entered the park from the Xinjian Palace Gate. The rain is very thin and dense, accompanied by the wind. Even if you are fully armed, you will still get wet if you are not careful.
The Summer Palace was originally the palace and garden of the Qing Dynasty emperors, also known as Qingyi Garden. It is based on Kunming Lake and Wanshou Mountain and was built in accordance with the design methods of Jiangnan gardens. It is a large-scale and well-preserved royal garden with beautiful scenery and many precious cultural relics, known as the "Royal Garden Museum". The Summer Palace can be divided into three areas: the political activity area centered on the Hall of Renshou; the living area of the Empress with Yulan Hall and Leshou Hall as the main body; and the garden tourist area dominated by the promenade, the back mountain and the western area.
Entering the park is Kunming Lake. Kunming Lake occupies three-quarters of the Summer Palace. It has beautiful scenery and is the soul of the entire garden. Kunming Lake can be divided into three parts: the Great Lake, the West Lake and the Houhu Lake according to the division of the water area. Every summer and autumn, a large number of tourists come here one after another to boat on the lake, admire the pavilions and pavilions by the lake, and take a panoramic view of the beautiful scenery of the whole park. In addition to the light and water color of the lake, the Seventeen-Arch Bridge, the West Embankment and other attractions in the lake are also worth tasting.
There is a copper ox by the lake. The copper ox has made great contributions to preventing floods in Beijing. Stroll to the Seventeen-Arch Bridge. The 17-hole Bridge connects the east bank and Nanhu Island. It consists of 17 holes and is 150 meters long and is shaped like a rainbow lying on the waves. Its shape has the characteristics of Beijing Lugou Bridge and Suzhou Baodai Bridge. The stone carvings on the bridge are exquisite, with a total of 544 pieces in size. There are also stone carvings and exotic beasts at the two bridges, which are very vivid.
The Summer Palace Promenade is also worth mentioning. The corridor was built during the Qianlong period. It was damaged when the British and French allied forces invaded Beijing, and was later rebuilt in 1888. There are many scrolls on the corridor, in different forms, lifelike characters, and vivid stories. Each step by step, it is worth experiencing slowly.
When the Summer Palace comes out, the rain is still falling. After waiting in line for half an hour, Didi was finally able to return to the hotel. Xiaobao walked a lot today, but fell asleep in the car, so his plan to go around Qingbei fell through.
As for Yuanmingyuan, I will go next time.
4. D4: July 13
Living in the Bird's Nest, I previously booked tickets and movies for Xiaobao to the China Science and Technology Museum. In addition to numerous science and technology exhibitions, there is also a science park specially suitable for children. Children can learn scientific knowledge through interactive games.
After spending the whole morning in the children's museum, the children enjoyed it very much. At noon, I took Xiaobao to experience the 4D movie "Battle of Bacteria". After watching the movie, he said to me,"Mom, why do I feel like someone is stabbing me when I watch the movie?"
The Science and Technology Museum has brought Xiaobao a perfect experience, which may stimulate her interest and potential in exploring science. I still had a little pity. I had booked a dome movie, but I accidentally forgot the time and didn't pay attention to the text messages on my mobile phone, so I missed it perfectly.
When we came out of the Science and Technology Museum, we saw the Bird's Nest (National Stadium), the Water Cube (National Aquatics Center) and the Linglong Tower from afar. We were already very satisfied. Of course, if it was night, the scenery would be more beautiful.
I have an appointment with classmates tonight. Although we haven't seen each other for 14 years since July 2007, we are still familiar with each other and not unfamiliar at all. The child said that she liked the little aunt very much. As soon as she saw the little aunt, she started playing with her. She was lively, generous and outgoing, which formed a huge contrast with my impression of Xiaobao. Except for the longer age numbers, Yan Qing is still the same as he was back then, and has not been carved by time at all.
5. D5: July 14
Moved to the Ruian Hotel in the morning because of its safety and convenient access to the Flag Square.
Get settled and head to the Beijing Planetarium. Haha, I found that our trip to Beijing has become a cultural journey. The children are very interested in the exhibition at the Planetarium. In order to make up for the Science and Technology Museum's shortcomings in missing out on dome movies, I watched "Wonderful Stars" today, which introduced the names and locations of the main constellations throughout the day with the theme of the changes in the four seasons.
It was a bit hot in the afternoon, so I went back to the hotel to rest until nearly seven o'clock and went out to watch the flag lowering. At the end of the flag-lowering ceremony, the lanterns were first on, and the tower tower lit up with landscape lights, complementing other buildings on Tiananmen Square, making it particularly magnificent.
6. D6: July 15
Before 4:00, it was dawn and Xiao Bao woke up. We were going to Tiananmen Square to watch the national flag being raised. To be honest, when I was in graduate school in Beijing, I watched flag lowering once, but never saw flag raising once. This is the first time I have watched the flag-raising ceremony. I am as excited as Xiao Bao.
4:58 Accompanied by the March of the Volunteers, the five-star red flag was slowly raised, and the pride of the Chinese nation arose spontaneously.
6.1. Forbidden City
The Forbidden City in Beijing, formerly known as the Forbidden City, was the royal palace of 24 emperors in the Ming and Qing dynasties of China. Now it refers to the Palace Museum in Beijing. It is located in the center of Beijing City and is an unparalleled masterpiece of ancient architecture. The palaces of the Forbidden City are all wooden structures, with yellow glaze tiles roofs and blue and white stone bases, decorated with splendid colored paintings. The entire building is arranged along a north-south central axis and spreads out to both sides. The north and south are straight and symmetrical. According to its layout and function, it is divided into two parts: "Outer Dynasty" and "Inner Court". With Qianqing Gate as the boundary, the south of Qianqing Gate is the Outer Dynasty, and the north is the Inner Court. The architectural atmosphere of the Outer Dynasty and Inner Court is very different. The Outer Dynasty was centered on the three halls of Taihe Hall, Zhonghe Hall, and Baohe Hall. Among the three halls, the "Taihe Hall" was commonly known as the "Golden Luan Hall". It was the place where the emperor held a court meeting and was also known as the "Former Dynasty". In addition, there are Wenhua Hall, Wenyuan Pavilion, Shangsiyuan Courtyard and Nansansuo on the east of the two wings; there are Wuying Hall, Internal Affairs Mansion and other buildings on the west. The building is grand and magnificent in shape, and the courtyard is clear, symbolizing the supremacy of feudal regime. The inner court is centered on the Qianqing Palace, Jiaotai Hall, and Kunning Palace. The two wings are Yangxin Hall, East Sixth Palace, West Sixth Palace, Zhai Palace, Yuqing Palace, and Imperial Garden. It was the place where feudal emperors and empresses lived.
Because the children had heard of "The Big Monster in the Forbidden City", they were full of curiosity and yearning for the Forbidden City. It was the children who took the initiative to ask to go to the Forbidden City.
Considering the children's physical strength, the Forbidden City arranged a day to visit, but basically along the central axis of the Forbidden City: Wumen-Taihe Gate-Hongyi Pavilion (Imperial Rites and Music Exhibition)-Taihe Hall-Zhonghe Hall-Baohe Hall-Qianqing Gate-Qianqing Palace-Jiaotai Hall-Kunning Palace-Imperial Garden-Shenwu Gate. Most of the scenic spots in the Forbidden City are on this line, and the walking time is relatively small.
6.1.1. jinshui bridge
Jinshui Bridge, a gorgeous stone bridge in the Forbidden City
There are five Jinshui bridges in the square in front of Taihe Gate. They are single-hole arches and beautiful in shape. They are set off against the majestic Wumen Gate Tower and the resplendent Hall of Supreme Harmony, making them fascinating.
The children had read "Forbidden City 100" and knew about the Jinshui Bridge. Before entering the Forbidden City, they said to me,"Mom, we have built the Outer Jinshui Bridge." It seems that the early preparation effect is not bad.
6.1.2. Meridian gate
The Meridian Gate is the south gate of the Forbidden City, the main gate of this imperial city, and the larger of the four gates of the Forbidden City. It was built in the 18th year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty and has a history of nearly 600 years. The plane of the Meridian Gate is in a "concave" shape. There are two square pavilions on the front platforms on the east and west sides of the main city building that echo the main building in the center, shaped like a rosefinch spreading its wings. Therefore, the Meridian Gate is also called "Five Phoenix Tower", echoing the tradition of palaces in previous dynasties in China, that is, the rosefinch Gate was used as the main entrance of the palace in the south.
The Wumen Gate Tower has a total of 5 doors leading to the inner city. There are three doors in the middle of the tower, and there are also one Yeagate on both sides of the city platform. The gate located in the middle of the tower is the "Imperial Road Gate" for the emperor to enter and exit. In addition to the emperor, only the queen can enter the palace in a wedding sedan chair on the wedding day, and the top scorer, runner-winner and flower hunter of the imperial examination high school leave the palace. To show the special treatment given by the emperor. The princes and others enter and exit through the west gate in the middle, the east gate in the middle, and the east gate in the middle, and the Ye doors at the left and right corners of the city platform are only opened during the sunrise.
Wumen Gate was also a place where the emperor often held important ceremonies. In case of a large-scale triumphant sacrifice ceremony, the emperor would climb the Wumen Gate Tower to accept worship, showing the royal prestige. During the Ming Dynasty, the emperor punished ministers with the "Tingzheng". The saying of "launching a beheading at Wumen Gate" that we often hear in film and television dramas was adapted from the "Tingzheng". In fact, the beheading location was in Beijing's Xisi and Caishikou.
Now the central tower of Wumen Gate has been turned into an important exhibition hall of the Palace Museum.
The Meridian Gate is the main entrance of the Forbidden City and is located on the north-south axis of the Forbidden City. This gate is centered towards the sun and is positioned at noon, so it is named Meridian Gate. The city platforms are connected on three sides, east, west and north, surrounding a square square. The north gate building has a wide surface of nine rooms, with double eaves and yellow tiles covering the roof of the hall. The majestic Meridian Gate is like three mountains surrounded by five peaks and majestic, so it is commonly known as the Wufeng Tower.
6.1.3. Taihe gate
6.1.4. Hongyige
6.1.5. Taihe Palace
The place where the emperor held the grand ceremony--Taihe Hall
The Hall of Supreme Harmony, commonly known as the "Golden Luan Hall", was the place where emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties held grand ceremonies. On the day of the grand ceremony, there is a huge ceremonial ceremony from the Hall of Taihe to Tiananmen Square. Zhonghe Shaoyue is set under the front eaves of Taihe Hall. Danbi Grand Music is set up in Taihe Gate. The royal court is set up on the Danbi, and hundreds of civil and military officials from the first to ninth grades gather on both sides of the royal road where "Pinji Mountain" is displayed in the Danchi.
6.1.6. Zhonghe temple
6.1.7. baohe temple
Baohe Hall, the place where the "Palace Examination" was held
Baohe Hall is the essence of traditional Chinese palace architecture and belongs to a palace-style building in the Forbidden City in Beijing. Every New Year's Eve, the emperor banquets for ethnic minority princes and ministers here. Since the late Qianlong period, this place has become a place for holding "palace examinations".
The existing main beam frame is still a Ming Dynasty building. In the middle of the steps behind the hall, there is a royal road stone carved with clouds, dragons, sea water and cliffs. People call it Yunlong stone carving. Rainwater is discharged from the dragon mouth every time it rains, organically combining the practical function of diverting rainwater with the ornamental function of architectural art.
6.1.8. qianqing gate
6.1.9. qianqing Palace
Qianqing Palace is one of the last three palaces of the Inner Court. Founded in the 18th year of Yongle of the Ming Dynasty (1420), the Qianqing Palace is a palace roof with yellow glazed tiles and double eaves. It is located on a single-layer white marble stone foundation. On the spacious platform in front of the hall, there are copper turtles and copper cranes on the left and right respectively, sundials and Jialiang. There are 4 gilded gold incense burners in front of the palace, with the Dan Bi in the middle, connecting Gaotai Yong Road and connecting Qianqing Gate. The Qianqing Palace is the largest building in the Inner Court. A total of 14 emperors lived here in the Ming Dynasty.
6.1.10. jiaotai Palace
6.1.11. yangxin temple
The place where the emperor went to court-Yangxin Hall
Yangxin Hall is a "Gong" shaped building, divided into two halls. After Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty, the emperor's bedroom was moved to the back hall, and the front hall became the place where the emperor handled daily government affairs and received ministers and servants.
6.1.12. kunning Palace
The wedding chamber of the emperor-Kunning Palace
Kunning Palace is one of the last three palaces in the inner court of the Forbidden City in Beijing. In the Ming Dynasty, the Kunning Palace was the queen's bedroom, but in the Qing Dynasty, it was gradually changed into a place for worshipping gods.
6.1.13. Imperial Garden
The Imperial Garden is located on the central axis of the Forbidden City. It has always been a place for the emperors and concubines to rest and play after meals. The Royal Garden is not large in area, but it is planted with many beautiful flowers and trees and is exquisitely built. There are also pavilions and pavilions around the flowers and trees that set off against the plants, making the entire garden quaint and quiet without losing the royal spirit.
6.1.14. shenwumen
It's a little hot. After walking out of the Forbidden City, I wanted to go to Jingshan Park to see the panoramic view of the Forbidden City. However, the children were exhausted and had to go back to the hotel.
6.2. Wangfujing
Wangfujing is located on the east side of the Forbidden City. It refers to the area centered on Wangfujing Street. It gathers many large-scale shopping centers and is an established shopping destination in Beijing. In addition, there are snack streets that gather delicacies from all over the world, and the historic Wangfujing Church. They are popular places to go shopping and taste delicious food in Beijing.
We came here just to find something to eat. After tasting the old Beijing-style fried tripe, Tianjin's Goubuli steamed buns filled their stomachs and walked back.
7. D7: July 16
7.1. National Museum of China
The National Museum of China was planned before coming to Beijing.
The National Museum of China is the largest comprehensive museum in the country, gathering the cultural essence of various places. There are many precious exhibits here, such as the terracotta warriors and horses in Shaanxi, the Sanxingdui mask in Sichuan, the animal head in Yuanmingyuan, etc. When visiting, it is like flipping through a living textbook. It is a good place for popular science and education.
Since the appointment was in the afternoon, the time was tight. After browsing "Ancient China", we will start clearing the area.
The exhibition hall of "Ancient China" is located on the first basement level. The exhibits here are arranged in the order from ancient times to the Ming and Qing Dynasties, like a general history of China. When visiting, remember to enter from the entrance of the preface hall on the north side of the exhibition hall and browse it in sequence starting from ancient times.
Even if you don't know much about cultural relics here, you will surely see many familiar cultural relics, such as: painted pottery pots with fish patterns, Yangshao eagle-shaped pottery tripods, red jade dragons of Hongshan culture, pottery figurines beating drums and singing, and sheep Fangzun of the Shang Dynasty. The colorful terracotta warriors of the Western Han Dynasty, the colorful pottery cans of Chenghua, the phoenix crown of the Empress Dowager Wanli of the Ming Dynasty, etc., the exquisiteness is the essence of Chinese civilization and is very eye-catching.
7.2. Nanluoguo Lane
Nanluogu Lane is not far from the Ningxia Building where I stayed, and it takes a few minutes to walk there. This is a hutong that combines petty bourgeoisie sentiment with the charm of old Beijing. It is also one of Beijing's fashion landmarks. It brings together many literary and artistic specialty shops and a wide variety of snacks. Young people, especially literary and artistic youth, often regard this as a must-have place to visit Beijing.
The children were very happy to experience sugar blowing here.
I found Chaoshan porridge in the evening. There were not many people, it was very delicious and the price was very affordable.
8. D8: July 17
8.1. Beihai Park
Beihai is located on the northwest side of the Forbidden City, and is collectively known as the Three Seas together with the "Zhonghai" and "Nanhai". The park was once a royal garden, with scattered pavilions and pavilions, lush forests on the lake and extremely beautiful scenery.
As soon as I entered the park, the lotus flowers in full bloom chased after each other and opened up. They were very beautiful. The distant white tower came into view. "Let's swing the oars, and the small boat push the waves away..." Boating in the North Sea is naturally necessary.
It was a big pity that I didn't go to the Geological Museum in the afternoon. I originally made an appointment with my classmates, but all my classmates went, but I missed the appointment. I'm so sorry.
The reunion was arranged at the University of Mining and Technology. First of all, I would like to thank my old classmates for their generous hospitality. I met for the first time after graduation in 2009. The students are developing very well. The children also performed very well today and had a great time with their little brother and brother.
9. D9: July 18
Return to Chengdu by high-speed train
10. summary
Due to his high self-identification, he is basically satisfied with the itinerary. There were many scenic spots originally planned. In fact, there were one spot per day, or at most two spots, mainly because they were unwilling to work too hard with children. There are some minor regrets, but there are a few: First, traveling in the rainy season has many restrictions, so I didn't go to the Great Wall. If possible, try to avoid traveling in the rainy season. Secondly, I changed three or four hotels, which was a bit troublesome; if I go to Beijing next time, I will only change it once at most. Third, I didn't go to the Yonghe Temple, Imperial College and Confucian Temple near Ningxia Building... Without any small regrets, how can I have the motivation to go next time?
