When it comes to Shihua Cave, old Beijingers can say that no one knows it. Almost every friend born in the 1980s has come here for spring outings organized by the school when they were in primary school. With the warm spring and blooming season in Beijing, the gang leader came to experience this place that amazed countless tourists again with enthusiasm.

How famous is Shihua Cave in Fangshan, Beijing?

Shihua Cave is a member of the Stone International Tourism Cave and one of our national scenic spots. It covers an area of 84.66 square meters and has extremely rich and outstanding cave landscapes and scientific research value. As a scenic resource with karst cave landform as the core, it is large in scale, complete in types, and beautiful in shape. It can be said to be our super precious cave resource. There are mountains in the scenic area, and the Dashi River meanders through it. Shihua Cave can be called a bright pearl among the beautiful mountain peaks. If you are traveling here for the first time, you will be shocked by its beautiful scenery. This grandeur is simply a perfect display of nature's art.

How wonderful is the Shihua Cave in Fangshan, Beijing?

I wouldn't be exaggerating to say that this is my most amazing cave view to date. The cave has the beautiful scenery known as the top ten wonders of the world that will amaze you repeatedly. From the classic Yaochi stone lotus to the unique fire tree silver flowers in the cave, nature has brought its unique craftsmanship to the fullest extent here.

moonmilk stone

Located in the second hall on the first floor, it is like a beautiful lotus pond, full of "lotus flowers" and geologically called "moonmilk stone". It was first discovered in Shihua Cave in Beijing in 1982. Using carbon-14 and uranium series dating, it is about 34,000 years ago.

Shiqi

Located at the highest point of the second floor of the West Branch Cave, oddly shaped stalactites, stone swords, and stone flags hang from the top of the cave. They are as white as jade and are named "White Jade Canopy". The most spectacular one is a stone flag, 2.18 meters high and 1.1 meters wide. It was formed by the collaborative deposition of dripping water from the roof of the cave and sheet-like flowing water.

Stone Waterfall

Located at the deepest part of the second floor of the west branch cave, it is a stone waterfall formed by flowing water deposition. The upper flowing water full of calcium carbonate empties down along the cracks in the wall. During the emptying process, calcium carbonate in the water gradually follows the flow of water deposition, forming a stone waterfall 10 meters high and more than 20 meters wide. Now tourists only see one-third of the waterfall, and two-thirds extend in the cave. This is the largest stone waterfall in the cave. It is named "Tengliu Waterfall" after the surging water flow.

stalactite

Located in the central hall on the second floor, the largest stalactite landscape in the cave is formed by the deposition of dripping water and running water and grows downward from the cave roof. This huge stalactite is 18 meters high and 3 meters wide. It looks like an inverted torch burning fiercely. The landscape is named "Torch Hanging Upside-down".

stone mantle

Located at the bottom of the second layer, there is a magnificent group of stone mantles, which is also the largest group of stone mantles in the cave. The stone mantles are formed by dripping water, linear flowing water, and sheet-like flowing water deposited along the wall of the cave. The stone mantle group is 10 meters high and 18 meters wide, and is composed of 540 pieces of stone mantle. It is called the "Dragon Palace Harp" or the "Dragon Palace Curtain".

shizhu

Located at the junction of the second floor and the third floor, the landscape consists of two majestic and magnificent stone pillars of uniform thickness. The stone pillars are formed by connecting stalagmites and stalactites. The height is 12.6 meters and are the tallest stone pillars in the cave. They are similar in shape, the same cause of formation, and similar in age, so they are collectively called the "Qingtian Mandarin Duck Pillar".

Shidun

Located at the entrance of the third floor, it is named "Dragon Girl Embroidery Platform". It is the largest stone shield in the cave, 1.2 meters high and 2.6 meters in diameter. The stone shield is formed by the deposition of confined water from cracks in the wall of the cave. There are a total of 630 stone shields of large and small in Shihua Cave, making it a kingdom of shields.

shihua

Located at the entrance of the fourth floor, it is named "Fire Tree Silver Flower" and is formed by the collaborative deposition of penetrating water and capillary water from the wall of the cave. This piece of stone flowers is distributed within a range of more than 30 meters long and 3 meters wide. Almost all of them are stone flowers, stone hair, stone branches, and stone chrysanthemums hanging on the wall of the cave, forming a variety of stone flower landscapes.

cloud basin

Located in the middle of the fourth layer, in the sunken pond in the cave, it is formed by the joint action of dripping water, splashing water and stagnant water. A few millimeters of thin bologn-like products float on the water surface, called "water-calcium films or cave rafts." Below the water line, it crystallizes into various forms of calcite crystal clusters and underwater stone grapes, such as cave beads, cave cakes, and crystal flowers in the pool.

stalagmites

Located at the exit of Shihua Cave, there is a stalagmite formed by dripping water. There are three different stalagmite dripping points on the top of the stalagmite. The ones with less impurities in the water and slow crystallization are transparent; the ones with more impurities in the water and fast crystallization are opaque. Therefore, there is a wonderful landscape where three things are born in one stone, and all things are different.

How beautiful is the Shihua Cave in Fangshan, Beijing?

The question about beauty is really an intuitive feeling that different people have different understandings in their eyes. Everyone can explain all the shapes in the cave according to their own understanding, and some scenes can even tell an interesting story. I think this is the beauty of a natural ideal that Shihua Cave brings us without modification or carving

How many floors are there in Shihua Cave in Fangshan, Beijing?

I heard from the guide Miss Sister that Shihua Cave has currently explored a total of 7 floors, but only 1-4 floors are open to the public. You can see the entrance to the fifth floor on the last part of the journey to the fourth floor, but the entrance is very small and is not open to the public at present. The deepest level on the front four floors reaches about 160-170 meters underground. But because there are naturally formed air vents and gaps in the entire cave, you won't feel uncomfortable staying down there. This can't help but admire nature, which always gives people a wonderful feeling. Of course, I also heard that when the earliest scientists entered the cave for investigation, they were hung down by a rope. For the dark cave at that time, I really admired the courage of the scientists.

Yueliang Mountain Scenic Area

There is also a niche check-in spot next to Shihua Cave, which is especially suitable for playing here after visiting Shihua Cave.

Not only are there many animals here, you can also climb mountains. The most important thing is that there is also a glass plank road hidden here. This is unexpected. Babies who like to play with glass plank roads must come.

At the same time, there is also Fangshan's famous wild vegetable banquet, where you can eat healthy wild vegetables with local characteristics. The delicious and refreshing wild vegetables seem to have been given magical vitality by the master, and each has its own unique taste. The very high food is delicious, and the restaurant is extremely cost-effective. It can also be used for wedding banquets and group building.

Lives in Xiude Valley

Be a valley master for a day

Listen to the wind, play the piano, taste tea, and view the mountains

Don't ask why you come here, just for those who have a chance to share it

Spring is the season when mountain flowers bloom and everything is revived. Every grass and tree in Xiude Valley exudes a stretch atmosphere. In the blink of an eye, I changed into Han clothes and felt the refreshing mountain wind coming from here. I suddenly felt like I had traveled back to ancient times. I could meditate here, and I could play the piano here to admire the moon.

The first time I learned about Xiude Valley was because some friends had participated in fasting activities here. The entire courtyard was full of Zen. The courtyard is now full of all kinds of mountain flowers, and the more than 70 rooms are comfortable and elegant. Living here every day with green tea and light rice, we live a life like a god.

I really like the vegetarian food here and am completely surprised by what I do. From taste to form, it can be said that it is completely close to ordinary dishes. You can also participate in the morning activities here every day to personally pick the wild vegetables you like. Of course, I think this place is also particularly suitable for bringing children to experience life. It is definitely interesting.
