In a blink of an eye, another semester passed, and my child had summer vacation again. The girl has been going to Beijing endlessly for several years. Since the first grade of primary school, she has learned Chinese texts. She has learned about the raising of the national flag in Beijing, Chang 'an Street, Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the Summer Palace... He has been telling us that he wants to go to Beijing to have a look. Let's make a trip this year. Although my husband and I both go to Beijing at least twice a year due to our work relationship, we still have a very different feeling when accompanying our children this summer vacation.
During this trip, because my husband and I were quite familiar with Beijing, I was lazy and didn't do any strategies. I thought I would start the trip leisurely! On the contrary, her daughter enthusiastically made many strategies before going out. The journey starts with a train ticket. Because I am accustomed to the fast pace of work and life, this time I strongly urge the family to slow down, not in a hurry, and slowly enjoy the travel process. So my daughter, who was on a soft sleeper for the first time, also had the opportunity to sit at the train window and slowly admire the scenery outside the window.
Day 1: Nanluogu Lane, Yonghegong Temple, Water Cube, Bird's Nest (Live in: Guyunfang Yijing Hotel, No. 66 Ju 'er Hutong)
The train arrived in Beijing at exactly 7:30 in the morning. Because the accommodation booked in advance was in Nanluogu Lane, the family of three first carried their luggage and took the subway to Nanluogu Lane. Beijing is famous for its ground traffic congestion across the country, so you should take the subway as much as possible when traveling. In order to facilitate travel, each family of three applies for a bus card. Not only can you use the subway, but you can also use the bus. There is a deposit for the card. However, the card can be refunded and the deposit can be refunded at any transfer station. At around 8 o'clock in the morning, we arrived at Nanluogu Lane. Most of the shops were not yet open. We followed "Du Niang" to the reservation hotel smoothly. The hotel couldn't check in until 2 o'clock in the afternoon, so we went through the luggage storage procedures and went straight out. I found a random breakfast restaurant in the alley, ate some steamed buns and soy milk, and went directly to Yonghegong. After breakfast, the family decided to take a slow walk. On the way, I came across a restaurant with more than 40 cats. The restaurant was not open yet. We said we would go in to see the cats, and the clerk also warmly invited us into the store.
Finally, he dragged his daughter out of the cat and continued to move forward to Lama Temple. I rented an automatic tour guide machine at the door. Most of Beijing's attractions have Chinese cultural heritage. Therefore, it is recommended to rent an automatic tour guide machine everywhere you go to listen to explanations of the architecture and historical stories, so that children can also learn more about history. Because Yonghe Temple is a Tibetan Buddhist temple, photos are not allowed in most of the halls, so we hardly took any photos. As we listened to the tour guide machine, the family of three visited, stopping and walking for about two hours. My daughter was already crying that she was hungry. Walking out of Yonghegong, I found the nearest "Yao Ji Fried Liver" restaurant. The rare girl who came from the south also enjoyed eating the fried liver and steamed buns. Because she was so hungry, she didn't have time to take photos, so she didn't scan them.
On the way back, they met a fruit supermarket. The family was attracted by the big and fragrant Beijing peaches and decisively bought a few. In the next few days, this peach will become the main fruit for a family of three. It's really delicious, haha!
When I returned to the hotel, although it was not yet two o'clock, the hotel said that it was ready to check in. At that time, I booked a room on the "Hornet's Nest" and only saw the special room, but I couldn't see that there were no windows. Anyway, I should be playing outside most of the time, so I don't care about it. Except for the smaller rooms and no windows, the hotel is still nice, antique and decorated with old Beijing characteristics. Here are two photos. The hotel service is very good, especially the security guard in the lobby. We bought watermelons and came back to eat them and asked him to borrow a fruit knife. The uncle was very enthusiastic about helping us take the watermelons to the restaurant and cut them before delivering them.
I had a good nap at the hotel at noon and set off around 4 p.m.. I originally wanted to go to Gong's Mansion, but as soon as I went out, I found that Nanluogu Lane, which was still cold and clear in the morning, was already crowded with people. It took a lot of effort to get out of Drum Lane and reach the subway entrance. It was already past five o'clock.
The following is Nanluogu Lane at 4 p.m., which is too crowded to move.
Because the sky was already dark, the family decided not to go to the Gong Mansion. They would first find a place to have a delicious meal of old Beijing hot-boiled mutton, and then go to see the night view of the "Bird's Nest" and "Water Cube".
There are also many people in the "Bird's Nest" and "Water Cube" at night, but fortunately the square is big enough. The nights in Beijing in August are already relatively cool. The family takes advantage of the cold, takes a walk and takes photos, which is quite comfortable. There are tickets for the "Water Cube" and "Bird's Nest" sold at the door, but we didn't buy them. Firstly, we were tired after a day's walk, and secondly, we felt that it was enough to watch the night view outside. We walked in the square for about half an hour and returned by subway. Go to bed early at night to replenish your strength for the Great Wall the next day.
Day 2: Mutianyu Great Wall, Four Seasons Minfu Roast Duck
Of course, you can't go to the Great Wall when you arrive in Beijing. The more famous Great Wall in Beijing are "Badaling" and "Mutianyu". Before coming, I confirmed with my friends that "Mutianyu" has a steeper terrain, but the scenery is better, because the transportation is not as convenient as "Badaling", so there are fewer tourists. So our family decided to go to "Mutianyu", read the strategy on Ctrip, and ordered the "Mutianyu Bus" in advance. Arrived at the designated place in the morning and caught the earliest train to go straight to the Mu Great Wall. It was early, so the car didn't queue up for long and went straight up.
There are three ways to visit the Great Wall: car viewing, slide, and walk. The slide is more exciting, and there are only a few foreigners queuing up at the entrance. The car can see the Great Wall from the Sky Mansion, take us to the starting point of the Long Curtain Great Wall, and then climb the Great Wall. Walking is actually probably about climbing a hill to get to the starting point. Therefore, most people will choose to watch the car when they visit the Great Wall. Of course, there is also the most local way-a helicopter, which directly looks down on the Great Wall. This method is ignored for our family of three.
Below: Looking at the Great Wall seen on the car.
She was a little scared when she heard that the Mu Great Wall was the steepest Great Wall. In fact, it had just begun and the road was easy to walk because it was early and there were not many tourists. The family walked forward chatting and laughing, taking photos while walking. The more you walked, the steeper the steps became. Seeing "Haohanpo" from afar, my daughter began to have the idea of backing out.
It is almost 90 degrees straight up, and the height of the first step is half a meter. It really feels like a person above is walking up on the head of a person below.
The road became steeper and steeper, and the physical exhaustion became greater and greater. The girl began to have a little temper. Fortunately, with her father's encouragement, she gradually calmed down and finally reached the top step by step. When we walked onto the peak fire platform at the highest point, we really had the heroic spirit of a "hero".
With the courage to go up the mountain, the road down the mountain was much smoother. After about five hours, we returned to the foot of the mountain and took the Mu bus back again. On the bus, everyone was hungry. After checking with their mobile phones, they found that there was a famous roast duck restaurant "Four Seasons People's Blessings" right next to the Mu Bus stop. After getting off the car, at about four o'clock, the family headed straight to the store. Fortunately, he ran quickly. There was a long line at the entrance of this store before five o'clock. The roast duck tasted very good, with crispy skin and tender meat. Even I, who has never eaten all kinds of animal skins, couldn't help but eat a good piece. Not only is the roast duck delicious, but their other Beijing dishes are also exquisite and delicious, which changes my impression of Beijing food being heavy and heavy. Food, photo.
After a delicious meal, the family returned to the hotel. At this time, they felt that the transportation was really convenient. They had only booked it for two days, but they decided to stay for an extra day.
Day 3: Forbidden City
The Forbidden City has already made reservations online before traveling, and you can enter directly with your ID card. This is not the first time I have come to the Forbidden City, but it is definitely the one I have visited the Forbidden City with the most people. It is reported that during the summer vacation, the Forbidden City basically reaches the maximum number of people receiving every day. As soon as you step into the gate of the Forbidden City, you will be greeted by a sea of people. I checked on the Internet before and found that the Forbidden City is divided into three lines: the east line, the west line and the middle line. After entering, we no longer could follow the strategy. Basically, we should go wherever there are fewer people. Of course, it is very necessary to rent a self-service tour guide machine at the door. When you go to the first palace or attraction, the self-service tour guide machine will have automatic sensing and explanation, so as to avoid the suspicion of taking a quick look at the scenery. Later, it was discovered that there were too many tourists, and self-service tour guides were more practical. There were real tour guides everywhere, and everyone was talking with a loudspeaker, which the tourists could hardly hear clearly.
Self-service tour guide machine in the Forbidden City
There are really many people. Even if there are so many people, this is my daughter's first time here, so our family still insisted on crossing the three lines: east, west and middle. The Treasure Hall reluctantly followed the crowd in to take a look. After coming out of the Treasure Hall, there was already a long line at the entrance of the Watch Hall. It was noon and the sun was shining brightly, so the family could only regret leaving. After playing in the Forbidden City for about five hours, I came out around three o'clock in the afternoon. I simply ate some dry food for lunch. Walking out of the Forbidden City, I took my daughter to have a dessert in Wangfujing to regain my strength. Seeing that there was still time, I decided to take a taxi to Gongwang Mansion.
Anyone who has read "Dream of the Red Chamber" knows that many of the architectural styles of the Grand View Garden are inspired by the Gong Mansion, and Cao Xueqin itself is also closely related to the Gong Mansion. Her daughter, who was recently watching "Dream of the Red Chamber", also showed great interest in Gong's Mansion. There is no need to make an appointment at the Gong Prince's Mansion, and there is a line directly at the entrance to buy tickets. Of course, our family still rented an automatic tour guide machine. When I entered the mansion at around 4:30 in the afternoon, I originally thought that there would be fewer people. After entering, I found that there were still many people. There was a 100-meter long line in front of Emperor Qianlong's "Fu" sign. The picture below shows people queuing up to see the "Fu" tablet.
With the baby, we didn't go to the queue. Instead, he walked among each building, listening to the introductions on the self-service tour guide machine, observing and experiencing history and culture. My daughter found many similarities to the landscape described in Grand View Garden in "Dream of Red Mansions" in Gong Wang Mansion, and she was very excited. There was a cultural exhibition of "Dream of the Red Chamber" in Gong's Mansion, but there were actually no people. Our family of three stayed in it for almost an hour, watching it carefully bit by bit.
Although it was already evening when we walked out of Gong's Mansion, the sky was still very bright and the temperature slowly dropped. The family of three walked back to the hotel along Houhai. With the wind of Houhai, some of the bars on the street had opened, and occasionally we could even float out. The singing of the resident singer, and when we heard something nice, we stopped to listen. Walking leisurely back to Nanluogu Lane, I found the most famous "Fangzhanchang No. 69 Zhajiang No. 69" Zhajiang No. 1. This Zhajiang No. 1 was famous because Xie Tingfeng came to shoot a food program, but it still maintained its original appearance after becoming famous. There are only three foods in the store: Zhajiang Noodles, Arctic Ocean, and soy milk. The sauce made that day will be closed when it is sold out. We arrived at around six o'clock, and there was a long line outside the store. As long as we were patient, the store would turn over quickly, and the waiting time would be quite fast.
The store is not big, but the Zhajiang noodles are really delicious and the portions are very large. She was originally worried that the family of three would not be able to finish it all, but in the end, each person's large bowl was clean, and her daughter was still not satisfied.
After eating noodles, on the way back to the hotel, I passed a cat restaurant. It turned out to be the hotel opposite the hotel we stayed in. However, when we went out every morning, they had not opened the shop yet. The daughter went in and played with the cat for a while again.
The following is a photo taken during the day, in front of the cat's store.
After playing with the cat for a while, I returned to the hotel to rest early and prepared to get up early tomorrow to watch the flag raising.
On the fourth day, watch the national flag rise and stay in the Great Wall Hotel Ditan Park
I got up at 3:30 in the morning and took a taxi straight to Tiananmen Square. When we arrived at Tiananmen Security Inspection, it was only past 4 a.m., and it was already crowded with people. After queuing up to pass the security inspection, we finally found a place in the crowd and stood well, and then began a long wait. There were so many people that they hardly dared to leave after standing up. The human wall could really be described as three inner layers and outer layers.
A security queue
The flag raising started on time at sunrise. When the guard of honor appeared, the originally lively square instantly quieted down. The entire venue could hear the orderly footsteps of the flag-raising team. When the national anthem sounded in the square, many people at the scene spontaneously sang together. At that moment, the sense of pride as a Chinese people arose spontaneously from the bottom of their hearts. The sense of shock at the scene was indeed different from what you usually see on TV.
After the flag was raised, we followed the crowd to the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall. However, because there were too many people and we were unfamiliar with the road, the family of three walked around the huge square twice, but couldn't find the end of the line entering the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall. Alas, after circling twice, it was already dawn. I looked at the end of the team that couldn't be seen, and finally decided to go home! Leave a regret to continue next time.
The whole family packed their luggage and moved to a hotel to the Great Wall Hotel in the Liangma Bridge area. The room is much more spacious than the original one, with a free swimming pool and gym. My daughter couldn't wait to go swimming when she just checked in, and she was not sleepy at all when she got up at 3:30 in the morning.
In the past two days, I was scared by the large crowds at several scenic spots, so I and my husband carefully studied the strategies again. Decide on the next itinerary, you must travel by the subway as early as possible in the morning and enter the attractions before the large number of tour groups arrive.
After settling in, I saw that it was only afternoon, so I decided to go to Ditan Park for a walk. On the way there, I thought that if there were too many people, I wouldn't go in. As a result, after arriving, there were surprisingly few people. Tickets for 2 yuan each are probably rare across the country. Most of the park are filled with elderly people who live nearby. The lotus flowers are in full bloom and the scenery is beautiful. Finally, we can no longer have to rush to take photos in the crowd. So I took many beautiful photos.
After a leisurely afternoon in Ditan Park, he returned to Liangma Bridge. Not far from the subway exit, he found a No. 1 steamed buns shop-"Xisi steamed buns shop" based on mobile phone software. It was really delicious and had no friends. I used the group purchase coupon and was very favorable. Three families of three got a 69.9 package. There were also many snacks around. Lu Ji bought some for a total cost of about 150 yuan, which was quite amazing. I ate so delicious that I forgot to take pictures, haha ~~~
I was very full at night. I took the subway to the famous CCTV to watch the night view of "Big Pants". Then I returned to the hotel, changed into my swimsuit, and swam for an hour. It was beautiful ~~.
The fifth day, Yuanmingyuan, Peking University, Tsinghua University
In order to avoid the crowd, we set out at 6:30 in the morning. As soon as Yuanming Garden opened, we entered. There were indeed very few people. When I arrived at Yuanmingyuan, of course, the first thing I paid attention to was its history that was damaged by the invasion of the "Eight-Power Allied Forces". My daughter had already studied that history at school before. When she came to the scene and saw the strong contrast between the restored model and the scene, her daughter was still shocked.
When most people come to Yuanmingyuan, they basically return home after walking to the "magnifying glass" in the picture above. In fact, Yuanmingyuan has gone through a century of construction and reconstruction and is a relatively large royal garden. This time, my husband has always relied on me to make strategies, but he actually made the strategies himself and led us all the way. In fact, this is not my first time to visit Yuanmingyuan. Almost every time I come here, I always walk to this attraction and return. The time is at most two hours. This time, we walked in the garden for more than four hours. We didn't expect that there were so many beautiful scenery in Yuanmingyuan that we had not visited before.
In the afternoon, we found a friend who graduated from Peking University to lead us to visit Peking University, the most sacred university in my daughter's heart. Because our friend was a student of Peking University and had an alumni certificate, we entered directly without an appointment. If we didn't have an alumni certificate, we led us by ourselves, and we had to make an appointment in advance to enter and exit Peking University and Tsinghua University. Of course, there are also many "second brothers" and "second sisters" at the school gate who say they can find a way to bring people in, and the bidding prices range from 80 to 100 yuan per person.
Peking University is indeed one of the most culturally low-cultural universities in China. Each building displays a strong traditional Chinese style, and the long-famous "Suming Lake" is also picturesque. There are lecture posters with various "big celebrities" posted on campus, which really makes people envy the students studying here.
After leaving Peking University, Tsinghua University is not far away. I didn't borrow an alumni card. Someone was selling 80 yuan at the door to take one person in. My daughter walked a lot today and said she was very tired. So I walked around the gate of Tsinghua University and took the subway back to the hotel. Dinner was still yesterday's steamed buns. Unexpectedly, after eating steamed buns, my daughter came back to life and ran to the hotel swimming pool for another hour.
Day 6 Summer Palace, National Museum of Natural History, Temple of Heaven
Today, I got up at 6:30 in the morning and set off before 7 o'clock. There were not many people on the subway, and the journey was smooth. When we arrived at the Summer Palace, we had breakfast at the KFC at the entrance before the gate was opened. As soon as the gate opened, we entered the park immediately. There were not many tourists. Similarly, we rented an automatic tour guide machine to listen to historical stories and watch the scenery, while lamenting the luxury of life of the "Lafayette" in those days.
When you arrive at the Summer Palace, it is a must to take a boat trip to the lake. You can watch the scenery on both sides of the strait on the boat. The breeze is gentle and it is very pleasant.
When we stayed in the Summer Palace for half a day, we left the garden almost noon. Go all the way to the National Museum of Natural History. Because we couldn't make an appointment on the website before, this time we had to find a "second brother" at the door to negotiate a price and take us in. Naturally, every museum in the capital has different responses. It's really good to visit the museum from noon to the hottest time in the afternoon.
Coming out of the museum, there is the Temple of Heaven next to it. I took my daughter and went there directly to see the place where the royal priests used to be. My daughter has gained a lot of historical knowledge.
Day 7, return journey
Today is the day we leave Beijing and return home. I had made an early agreement to have a good meal in Beijing at noon today and then return home. When I woke up early in the morning, my daughter said she wanted to go swimming. Her father took her swimming. I packed my luggage in the room.
Around 10 o'clock, we packed our luggage, checked out, walked to the embassy district near Liangma River for a tour, and then went to "Dadong" to eat roast duck. The dishes of "Da Dong" are really exquisite, and the roast duck tastes very good. We originally ordered half of it, and later added half.
The trip to Beijing ended happily with this delicious food.
