Transportation: High-speed rail

I have always believed that the east and south of the Forbidden City are the most worthwhile places to spend time exploring. This trip to Beijing spent a long time in this area, and I really enjoyed the addiction of exploring old Beijing.

Accommodation: Yingxiangcheng Hotel (Beijing Wangfujing Branch)

The most important consideration when choosing to stay here is location. The hotel is located at No. 9 Shijia Hutong within the target area, and Dengshikou Station on Line 5 is within easy reach. With this as a starting point, no matter where you go, it is very convenient and you can arrive quickly. It is the first choice for accommodation. The hotel is located in an alley with modern facilities, clean and sanitary facilities. The hotel is close to Wangfujing, making it convenient for eating, drinking and playing. It really feels like a new way to live in an old alley, and the front desk staff are also very friendly. I originally booked a king room with a large window and a view. After arriving at the store, I was upgraded to a suite with a bedroom for free. It is very good for money and nice! His suite is really big in a place like Beijing, where every inch of land is invaluable. The area is more than 40 square meters by visual inspection, and it also has a bathtub and sofa.

Day 1: Shijia Museum, Wangfujing, Forbidden City, Qianmen Street

I bought an afternoon ticket to the Forbidden City. The hotel set out after breakfast at 9 a.m.. First, I visited the Shijia Museum in the same alley as the hotel. It took about an hour. The exhibition hall showed life in the old Beijing Hutongs, including mini models of courtyard houses, as well as biographies of some historical celebrities in the hutongs. After that, I walked to Wangfujing, which is worthy of being Beijing's shopping paradise. There are a variety of luxury brands and unique buildings. The streets are surprisingly clean and magnificent. After that, I walked around Wangfujing Bookstore and went out to find an authentic noodle shop. I ate a bowl of specialty fried noodles, and was full of food and ready to go to today's important destination, the Forbidden City. The important thing is said three times, you must bring your ID card, you must bring your ID card, you must bring your ID card.

The Forbidden City in Beijing is a royal palace in the Ming and Qing Dynasties in China. It was formerly called the Forbidden City and is located in the center of Beijing's central axis. The Forbidden City in Beijing is centered on three halls, covering an area of about 720,000 square meters and a construction area of about 150,000 square meters. It has more than 70 palaces of various sizes and more than 9,000 houses.

The buildings in the Forbidden City in Beijing are divided into two parts: the Outer Dynasty and the Inner Court. The center of the Outer Dynasty was the Hall of Supreme Harmony, Zhonghe Hall, and Baohe Hall, collectively referred to as the Three Halls, which were the places where the country held major ceremonies. The left and right wings of the three halls are supplemented by two groups of buildings: Wenhua Hall and Wuying Hall. The center of the inner court is the Qianqing Palace, Jiaotai Hall, and Kunning Palace, collectively referred to as the Later Three Palaces, which are the main palace where the emperor and queen lived. Later it was the Imperial Garden. On both sides of the rear three palaces are the six east and west palaces, which are the places where the empresses and concubines live and rest.

Qianmen Street is a very famous commercial street in Beijing. Located on the central axis of the capital, it starts from Qianmen Moon Bay in the north and ends at Tianqiao Crossing in the south, and is connected to Tianqiao South Street. Hall building, on the west side of the Sixth West Palace are Buddhist hall buildings such as the Central Main Hall. In addition to the Outer Dynasty and Inner Court, there are two buildings: Outer East Road and Outer West Road.

After visiting the Forbidden City, you will circle the city wall of the Forbidden City and return to the second stop, Qianmen Street.

Qianmen Street is a very famous commercial street in Beijing. Located on the central axis of the capital, it starts from Qianmen Moon Bay in the north and ends at Tianqiao Crossing in the south, and is connected to Tianqiao South Street.

Qianmen Street has a long history and has created many time-honored Chinese brands here, such as Liubiju Sauce Garden, Tongrentang Pharmacy, Ruizhixiang Silk Shop, Changchun Tang Pharmacy, Neiliansheng Shoe Store, Zhang Yiyuan Tea House, and Yueshengzhai Sauce Meat Shop, Duyichu's Shaomai Shop, etc., are arranged on both sides of the road.

Day 2: Gulou East Street, Shichahai, Nanluogu Lane, Guijie Street

Starting from the hotel at 8 o'clock in the morning, Dengshikou Line 5 gets off at Beixinqiao and explores all the way west.

In terms of the overall layout of Beijing, everything is based on a north-south central axis in the center of the city, and the Bell and Drum Tower is at the northernmost end of the central axis. The Bell and Drum Tower is the starting point on the west side of Gulou East Street. Gulou East Street is about 1098 meters long and about 23 meters wide. In the order from east to west and north to south of Gulou East Street, the alleys are Xiaojingchang Hutong, Shoubi Hutong, Beiluogu Lane, Nanluogu Lane, Baochao Hutong, Hougulouyuan Hutong, Caochang Hutong, etc.

Shichahai is a Beijing City Historical and Cultural Tourism Scenic Area and a Beijing City Historical and Cultural Reserve. It is located in Xicheng District, the central Urban area, adjacent to the central axis of Beijing. The water area is 336,000 square meters and is connected to the waters of Zhongnanhai. It is the only open scenic spot with open water in the inner city of Beijing. It is also the largest historical district in Beijing with the most complete preservation of features.

Nanluogu Lane is an alley located in the Jiaodou area on the east side of Beijing's central axis. It starts from Gulou East Street in the north and ends at Ping 'an Street in the south. It is 8 meters wide and has a total length of 787 meters. It was built in the same period as the Yuan Dynasty. It is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Beijing with a history of more than 740 years. It is also among the 25 planned old city reserves. Because its terrain is high in the middle and low in the north and south, like a hunchbacked person, it is named Luoguo Lane. In the Qing Dynasty, the "Complete Map of the Capital" drawn in the 15th year of Qianlong (1750) was renamed Nanluogu Lane.

Gui Street is located in Dongzhimen, the western section of Dongzhimen overpass on the Second Ring Road, and the eastern end of Jiaodaokou East Street in the west. Today, this street is also an excellent place for concentrated display of Beijing's delicacies.

Guijie Street has become a representative of Beijing's food culture and a symbol of fashionable dining. Guijie Street has also become a yearning, a joy, and even a topic for conversation after a meal. Many people's experience of "night tours" in Beijing begins here; in many exciting days in Beijing, people will choose to spend it here by consensus. On major or exciting anniversaries, such as the successful Olympic bid, Chinese football going to the world, the Asian Cup defeating Japan, etc., people all spent the night here singing, drinking, shouting, hugging, and crying together, and the whole street was immersed in the atmosphere of the time. This is Guijie Street now.

Day 3: Mutianyu Great Wall

The hotel chartered a car at a reasonable price. We made an appointment to pick it up at 9:30 in the morning. It took more than an hour to reach today's destination, Mutianyu Great Wall.

Beijing's Mutianyu Great Wall [1] is located in Huairou District of Beijing City, 73 kilometers away from the Beijing Urban area. It has a long history and splendid culture. It enjoys the reputation of "the Great Wall of Thousands of Miles, the Unique City of Mutianyu" at home and abroad. The scenic area is surrounded by mountains, and the vegetation coverage rate reaches more than 90%. The Great Wall is 5400 meters long and is the longest Great Wall in China [2]. It is also one of the famous 16 scenic spots in Beijing and a national AAAAA tourist area.

The Mutianyu Great Wall was built in 1368 AD under the supervision of Xu Da, a general under Zhu Yuanzhang, on the site of the Great Wall of the Northern Qi Dynasty. It is the essence of the Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty. This section of the Great Wall connects Gubeikou in the east and Juyong Pass in the west. It has been a key military place to guard the capital since ancient times. It has famous landscapes such as Zhengguantai, Dajiaolou, and Yingfei. The walls of the Great Wall remain intact, better reflecting the ancient charm of the Great Wall.

I returned to the hotel and had a good sleep. The next morning, I returned to my hometown on the high-speed train. A happy end to the three-day free trip to Beijing!
