Beijing, the capital of China, is a sacred, solemn and magnificent city. This summer vacation, I took my son, who was under 6 years old, to this city with a long history, which has been the capital of many dynasties.
Transportation: There are high-speed trains both back and forth (Fuxing to go, Harmony to go).
Beijing is mainly dominated by subways and buses. You can apply for a "one-card card" at the subway station. On the one hand, you can save the time needed to queue up to buy tickets every time you take the subway. On the other hand, you don't have to prepare change in advance and have discounts on the bus.
Accommodation: All accommodation in Beijing is booked at the Red Wall Hotel. The location of this hotel is so good. It is close to the Forbidden City and close to buses and subways. It is very convenient to travel. Gubei Water Town booked the Great Wall Star Tent Camp at Hangu Villa. (Of course, whether it is a Red Wall Hotel or a tent camp, you need to make an appointment in advance, which is very popular)
Advance reservation: Capital Museum (hereinafter referred to as Shoubo), Forbidden City, Science and Technology Museum, Peking University, Military Museum
Schedule:
16: Chengdu-Beijing
17th: Visit the first expo-Nanluogu Alley-Yandai Alley
18: Forbidden City
19th: Gubei Water Town (bubble party, listening to Peking Opera, watching acrobatics, drone performance, light show)
20th: Gubei Water Town returns to Beijing (making desk lamps and climbing the Great Wall)
21: China Science and Technology Museum-Night view of Bird's Nest and Water Cube
22: Peking University-Summer Palace-Shichahai Cruise Ship
23: Military Museum-Tiananmen Square
24: Jingshan Park-Shichahai Cruise Ship
25: Beijing-Chengdu
Many museums are closed on Mondays, so Gubei Water Town is arranged to go on Monday and return on Tuesday. There are a lot of meetings with children in the Science and Technology Museum (especially the Children's Museum) and the Military Museum, and there should be more people on weekends, so I arranged it during the week. Peking University and Tsinghua University need to pay attention to the school's opening hours in advance. We only visited Peking University this time.
When traveling with children, we must first consider physical strength, so basically we have a nap every day (but this time may not necessarily be after lunch, hahaha), so we are full of energy and vitality every day.
D1: Chengdu-Beijing takes the G90, which leaves at 3 p.m. and arrives in Beijing West in 7 hours and 50 minutes. Take a taxi to the hotel, check in, and go to bed.
D2: I had a casual meal at the hotel in the morning and set off at about noon when I arrived at the first expo. Then I found a famous snack bar in Beijing-Huguo Temple Snacks near the first expo. Here we drank Beijing's famous but extremely terrible bean juice, and some things that didn't impress us after eating it.
After eating, I went to line up to enter the restaurant. It is said that if you want to understand Beijing and its history as quickly as possible, you are definitely right to come to the first expo. It records Beijing's past and present lives, and records Beijing's customs and customs.
After visiting the first expo, I went out and took a look. Yo, there were many people queuing up at the door to enter the exhibition hall, and there were many teams. I'm so glad we came early. After looking at the time, we decided to take the bus back to the hotel to rest and go out later.
When I woke up, it was almost past 5 o'clock. I went out and walked towards Nanluogu Lane. I ate various snacks and visited various small shops here, but there were really many people, so I followed the crowd out of the alley. Walking on the street, you will soon reach Yandai Inclined Alley. There are also many people here. Through the alley, you will find Shichahai. We took a cursory look here, then went out along Qianhai and took a bus back to the hotel.
D3: We went to the Forbidden City today. The hotel we booked was not far from the Forbidden City. It was only a 25-minute walk, a few hundred meters longer than taking the bus. It took about the same time, so we decisively chose to walk there. When we immediately arrived at the Meridian Gate of the Forbidden City, we saw many people walking back. We thought they were tourists who had finished the tour. Later, we learned that tickets were not sold at the Forbidden City site and had to book online in advance. These people had neither made an appointment nor were willing to buy tickets from scalpers, but only returned without success.
Route of the Forbidden City: Wumen Gate--Jinshui Bridge--Taihe Hall--Zhonghe Hall--Baohe Hall--Qianqing Gate--Jiaotai Hall--Kunning Palace--Imperial Garden--Via the Sixth East Palace--Treasure Hall--Out of Shenwu Gate
I came out of Shenwu Gate and looked at the time. It was already past 1 o'clock in the afternoon. I was so hungry. So I found a store called "Dahai Bowl" on the APP with a good review and only a few hundred meters away from us, so let's go here to eat. When we arrived, we found it right next to our hotel. Once again, we found that our hotel has a great location. After eating, you can go back to the hotel to rest.
I had dinner with a friend that evening. I originally planned to go to Wangfujing's Xiaodiao Pear Soup, but I went to ranking before 6 o'clock. The store directly told us that we would stop ranking. Today's numbers have been issued. We went to the Four Seasons Minfu to rank again. We got our number, but we were told that it was at least 1.5 hours later. It was just too popular. It's not easy to eat a roast duck.
D4: Pack up your things, check out, and go to Gubei Water Town. Ever since I learned about Gubei Water Town, I have been madly planted with grass, and today I finally come. We drove about 2 hours from the hotel to No. 1 Parking Lot in Gubei Water Town. Take the shuttle bus from Parking Lot 1 to the entrance of Gubei Water Town Scenic Area, check in at the Visitor Center and buy tickets to enter the scenic area, and then take the shuttle bus to the hotel where you stay. If you book a hotel in the scenic area, all shuttle buses in the scenic area can be taken for free.
After putting the food in the tent, he went to the town to have a casual meal. Arriving at Riyue Island Square, I happened to see the staff preparing for the "Bubble Summer"(event time 14:00--15: 00). Immediately, the children around me gathered in this world of only bubbles.
At 15:00, there was also a program on the old stage in Riyue Island Square, so we ended the Bubble Summer tour more than 10 minutes early. My father and my son went to clean up the bubbles. I found a place in the theater seating area to rest and wait for the upcoming show here. Here, we watched the Peking Opera "Mother-in-Law Engraving the Character", enjoyed folk acrobatic performances, and listened to cross talk.
Don't miss the wonderful programs at night when you come to Gubei Water Town. The drone Kongming Lantern Show, the Great Wall Music and Water Dance Show, and the night tour of the Great Wall with a small lantern. Due to the temporary maintenance of the cableway for the night tour of the Great Wall, our night tour of the Great Wall The project had to be cancelled, but for the other two "shows", we still decided to return to our tent to rest and recharge our strength.
When I woke up, it was almost 6 o'clock. We leisurely came to Riyue Square again. The square was much more lively than in the afternoon. It felt like everyone had gathered here. There were many people around a corner of the square, and a band was performing there. Next to it is the beer night market. We got a number so that we can eat something and watch the drone Kongming Lantern Show here. This is the number one perfect experience that we must not miss. The waiter only called the number three times here, and after passing the number, they had to be rearranged, so my father and my son waited here, while I went to the bridgehead to lay bridgehead cakes and tofu corners. After I bought it, I started arranging seats at the beer night market. The time was just right and the position was good. In the middle, it was just the right time to enjoy the drone Kongming Lantern Show.
I'm full and drunk, and I've also seen the drone Kong Lantern Show. It's time for us to transfer, hahaha.
The sky is bright with stars and the town is brightly lit with lights. We came to Wangjing Tower, where there is a majestic Great Wall music and water dance show. We can feel the collision of music and lights, the blending of water and fire, and enjoy the magic of water in music and light.
Climb high to the hilltop church, which is the best place to view the panoramic view of Gubei Water Town.
After this round, I didn't want to walk anymore. Fortunately, a scenic spot shuttle bus took us directly to the hotel, so I had to praise the service of the scenic spot.
After returning to the tent, I took a closer look at the environment here. The tent was placed on both sides of the stream. The trees on the lawn were soaked with the aroma of Gesang flowers. Here, I watched the clouds, watched the stars, and listened to the wind, and fully integrated with nature. One.
D5: I woke up in the morning, walked out of the tent, breathed in the fresh air, and felt the breath of nature. The waiter brought breakfast with a basket. After breakfast, we packed our luggage and prepared to check out. We checked in for storage at the front desk and we could pick up our luggage directly from the parking lot, which was so convenient.
The sky is drizzling, and Gubei Water Town is particularly fresh and comfortable in the rain. After shopping for a while, we decided to find a place to do handicrafts. Yongshun Dyeing Workshop, where we could experience plant printing and dyeing and make our own fabrics. Kite Workshop allows you to experience making kites with your own hands and feel the charm of Chinese culture through traditional crafts. Lantern shop, you can learn to make small lanterns and feel the magic of color and light and shadow. After visiting these three shops, his son finally chose to make a desk lamp in the lantern shop, so "Wukong and Bajie teamed up to climb the Simatai Great Wall."
It was already noon after finishing the desk lamp. After lunch, we decided to climb the Great Wall in Gubeishui Town according to the original plan. Although we didn't carry a small lantern to tour the Great Wall at night, we could also go up and have a look at the Great Wall during the day.
"No one is a hero until he reaches the Great Wall." There are some things that you still have to experience for yourself. I checked the Internet and found that the Great Wall of China is the largest in the world, and the Simatai Great Wall can be called the largest Great Wall of China. This is the only section of the Great Wall in the Ming Dynasty that has been preserved without modification. It is famous for its danger, density, strangeness, ingenuity and completeness. Danger means that it is built on a ridge cut by knives and axes, which is extremely thrilling;"density" refers to the distance between the two enemy towers. The distance between the two enemy towers is tens of meters apart, the farthest is only 300 meters, and the average distance is only 140 meters;"Strange" means that the Simatai Great Wall is steep, majestic and magnificent, and there is Yuanyang Lake (formed by the intersection of cold springs and hot springs) at the foot of the mountain. The blue waves ripple, forming the beautiful scenery of lakes and mountains;"clever" is reflected in the step-by-step barrier walls, you can advance, retreat, and defend;"Quan" means that the architectural styles of the towers and enemy towers are unique and diverse. Identified as the "Original Great Wall" by UNESCO, the British Times once translated the Simatai Great Wall as "the first of the 25 scenery not to be missed in the world."
I have to say that we were very lucky. As soon as we bought tickets to the Great Wall, the rain stopped.
D6: Today is to go to the Science and Technology Museum that has been booked in advance. The Science and Technology Museum is divided into Children's Science Park and the main exhibition hall. Children's Science Park is limited to children aged 2-8. If there are no children of this age group among the accompanying guests, they cannot book the Children's Science Park museum. This is divided into morning and afternoon sessions. We booked morning sessions. The venue will be cleared at 12:30 noon, and there is no time limit for the main exhibition hall. There is a restaurant in the museum, both buffets and light meals. After playing, you can eat on the first floor.
In the Science and Technology Museum, you can play all day until it closes at 5 p.m.
When we came out of the Science and Technology Museum, we decided to have dinner nearby because it was very close to the Bird's Nest and the Water Cube, so we could have a look at the night view here.
Today, my son played all day. When he returned to the hotel, he immediately took a bath and went to sleep. It was really a second sleep.
D7: Peking University booked in the morning. We entered the school gate from the east gate of Peking University before 11 o'clock and bought a map. According to the map signs, we traveled around Weiming Lake and passed the Peking University Library (I heard from students at the school that the library had been renovated for a long time, so we could only see the besieged library). We had lunch in the school cafeteria at noon, rested in the coffee shop, seized the time to let the children sleep for a while, and finally left the west gate.
There is a bus stop 20 meters on the left from the West Gate of Peking University that leads directly to the Summer Palace.
When you arrive at the Summer Palace, you can directly swipe the QR code at the ticket gate to buy tickets through the public account on your mobile phone, eliminating the need for cumbersome procedures such as ticket change.
Still adhering to the principle of no turning back, our route is: Donggong Gate, Paiyun Hall, Fo Fragrance Hall, Nanhu Island, Shifang, Beigong Gate. Suzhou Street is closed at 5 o'clock, and there is no tour. Considering that it was too hot for the cruise ship during the day, I promised my son to take him on a cruise ship at night, go out of the Beigong Gate and walk in the right direction, and take the subway to Shichahai.
D8: Military Museum. There is a lot of equipment inside, fighter jets, reconnaissance planes, tanks, gunboats, rifles, sniper rifles... Here, I also learned about the military history of the People's Liberation Army of China, ancient and modern China, and world military history. Maybe it's a boy's characteristic. My son is so fascinated by this place that he keeps his eyes lit up and looks at every exhibit here carefully, so that it's about 2 o'clock in the afternoon when we come out.
After leaving the museum, we found a shop not far from the Military Expo for dinner. It was called Lu Yuexuan Yangzi. It tasted good. While eating, we kept listening to the boss receiving reservations, but they all told us that they would not accept reservations for the day. It shows that business is good.
After eating at 3:30 in the afternoon, I decided to take the bus to Tiananmen Square to prepare for the 7 o'clock flag-lowering ceremony. Why do we have a flag-lowering ceremony instead of watching the flag-raising ceremony? There are two main points: 1. To watch the flag raising, you need to leave at 3 a.m. to come to Tiananmen Square. You really can't get up. 2. It is said that the flag-raising ceremony is only spectacular on the 1st of each month, and the rest of the time is similar to the flag-lowering ceremony.
Security check entered Tiananmen Square at 4 p.m.. At this time, there were not many people around the national flag. We found a better place and started waiting. If we felt that we were ready to go around early, it would be a big mistake, because if we had to come later, we would only have to look at the heads of people.
D9: Today is the last day in Beijing. We have to take the train back to Chengdu early tomorrow morning. So today we focused on leisure and went to Jingshan Park near the hotel. Tickets for Jingshan Park can also be swiped using the "One Card", which is convenient. After entering the park gate, walk in the right direction, and you will soon reach the place where Emperor Chongzhen hung himself. You can go up the mountain from here. The highest peak can take a panoramic view of the Forbidden City. You will not turn back all the way and go down the mountain in the direction. Walking 500 meters to Beihai Park on the right side of Jingshan Park, we didn't go. Instead, we found a Beijing restaurant and returned to the hotel for lunch after lunch.
After waking up, we were ready to stroll around. We went to Fuhua Zhai. It seems that our previous boyfriend Li Xian had also checked out here. This house was founded by descendants of the imperial chefs of the Qing Dynasty. The cakes are exquisite and do not taste rough like northern cakes. It is a few streets away from a certain Xiangcun. Fortunately, I was ranked in the dragon couch that children liked most. Sitting on the dragon couch and tasting the palace cakes, it was beautiful.
In the evening, we bought some snacks near Shichahai, then took a cruise ship, and ended the day with various snacks while rowing.
