1. Introduction to the Great Wall
Don't want all kinds of introductions collected online. What I tell you is all the key points.
First of all, the Badaling Great Wall is the Great Wall where we traditionally call "no one is a hero who has not reached the Great Wall."
Secondly, the Badaling Great Wall is divided into a south line and a north line. The south line is relatively gentle and the north line is relatively steep. Starting from the entrance, the south floor is on the left, and the north floor is on the right. Go straight down. There are eight buildings going south and twelve floors going north, making a total of 20 buildings. The building here is a beacon tower. Some beacon towers have roofs and some have no roofs, and some are just an open-air platform. The eighth floor in the north is Haohanpo, the highest point and the broadest view. From the cable car entrance to the seventh floor in the north, you only need to climb the first floor to reach Haohanpo. This is a must-check point ~ which means that there are the most people here ~. The 12th floor is the last building but not the tallest. There is also a hero's monument at the check-in point, which is a stone tablet engraved with the words "Not a hero who does not reach the Great Wall". There are several in the scenic area, one as soon as you enter the door, one on the north fourth floor, and both the south second and north second floors. It seems that there are also some on the south fourth floor, and there are also outside the scenic area. If you encounter them, you can take a photo, just to take a group photo as a souvenir. Also worth mentioning is the Dream Great Wall Dome Screen Theater, a theater with a 360-degree all-round view, synchronized dynamic seats and 3D viewing effects. A wonderful epic about the Great Wall, from the rise and construction of the Great Wall to the ancient Great Wall. The war experienced by the Great Wall, to the beautiful scenery of the four seasons inside and outside the Great Wall, to the bold fantasy about the Great Wall of Space, is fun and beautiful. You also learn more about the Great Wall, which is very suitable for parent-child families.
2. Tickets
Regarding booking tickets, purchase tickets in advance on the WeChat "Badaling Great Wall" public account. There are morning/afternoon sessions, and you can actually enter at any time period no matter which session you buy.

Note: Free tickets do not mean free tickets. Free tickets also need to be booked in advance from the public account ~
3. Transportation routes
Looking up the guide online said that there are various ways to go to the Badaling Great Wall, and I have summarized 5 ways for everyone to choose from
1. S2 Line: Intercity Railway Line 2, S means suburban. This train is not a passenger train in our traditional sense. It is similar to a subway. The entire train has free seats and no seats are assigned. If there are many people, there will be no seats. You can't buy tickets on 12306, which is similar to the subway and is said to be more complicated.
2. Bus No. 919: It is divided into 919 and 919 fast buses. It is not a direct bus and I am afraid it will be confusing. Moreover, it is quite troublesome to have a stop in the middle.
3. Bus No. 877: Take the subway to Jishuitan. You still need to walk. It takes more than 10 minutes to get to Deshengmen Bus Station. There are many people, the queues are long and chaotic, not quite the same as public transportation.
4. Direct taxi: about 200 yuan. It's still one-way, the price is relatively expensive and not worth it.
5. Great Wall Express: The cost is about 80 yuan and can be booked on various travel apps. There are also many, all of which are qualified regular travel agencies. I feel more at ease.
The first four are routes I have explored, but I have not experienced it personally. The fifth one is the ones I have experienced for everyone's reference. I personally think that for a tourist, it is convenient and fast not to be fooled. Too many choices will be confusing. I took a bus to get there. The reason is that the meeting place at Exit C of Beitucheng Subway Station is close to my hotel, which is just convenient. Compared with taking a taxi, it is more convenient and time-saving than taking a bus. Let me share the experience that day: the car that day was spacious and comfortable, meeting the need for relaxation and comfort. Play time: 4 hours. You don't have to worry about getting lost with tour guides for explanation and assistance. And it goes directly to the entrance of the Great Wall Museum (that is, directly into the scenic area, the place closest to climbing the Great Wall), and the overall experience is not bad.
4. Tour routes
There are seven sightseeing routes for everyone to choose from.
(1) Take the cableway up and down the north seventh floor.
This route has the most choices, and is also the most prosperous, lively and crowded one.
(2) Sit up and down on the fourth floor of the south of the ground cable.
This route has the fewest choices and is particularly small. It does not have the trouble of crowded people. It also gets rid of the embarrassment of taking a big photo on the Great Wall. It has fewer people and is clean.
(3) Ride the pulley up and down the fourth floor of the north. You can also climb under the North Seventh Cable Car or under the South Fourth Cable Car.
This route is mostly the choice to take care of children. Experience the slowness of the sled.
(4) Take the cableway on the seventh floor in the north and under the ground cable on the fourth floor in the south or sit on the fourth floor in the south and take the cableway on the seventh floor.
The advantage of this route is that there is no turning back, you can keep climbing, and the route is basically close to complete.
(5) Climb from the first floor in the north to the twelfth floor in the north.
It doesn't involve the south line and can reach Haohanpo without leaving any regrets. After passing the eighth floor of the North, there is no turning back. You need to stick to the North 12th exit. The section from the north eighth floor to the north twelfth floor is very steep, and it is not recommended for the elderly and children to climb.
(6) Climb from the first floor in the north to the eighth floor in the north, return the same way and continue to climb to the sixth floor in the south and then return
One of the most complete routes. The bad part is that you will experience aesthetic fatigue and physical exhaustion if you go back.
(7) Climb from the first floor in the south to the sixth floor in the south, return to the same road and continue to climb the eighth floor or the twelfth floor in the north
It is also one of the most complete routes. Take a turn back. The advantage of this route is that it takes into account the north and south. You can take a look at it more. I also have to mention that once you pass the North Eighth Floor, if you can't persist, there will be no turn back.
Cableway/ground cable (universal, see the picture): round-trip 140 one-way 100 sled: round-trip 120 one-way 100
The first four routes are guided by tour tools, cableway, cable car or trolley, and the last three are pure climbing routes (you can choose a one-way return at the appropriate location: North seventh floor (cableway), North fourth floor (trolley), South fourth floor (ground cable)). The fourth route is the one I recommend most. It was also taken by me myself. The advantage is that there is no turning back. It is the best and most affordable route.
5. Catering
You can bring your own dry food because the price in the scenic spot is relatively expensive.
Consider ordering things at KFC, Subway, Mr. Li or the Food Court on the pedestrian street (discounts) will be cheaper than on the mountain.
There is also Badaling Hotel in the scenic area. The decoration is exquisite and elegant. It is said that it has the taste and price of home-cooked food. It is very cost-effective, so I didn't try it.
6. Matters needing attention
1. Prepare your health treasure and itinerary code, go through security check, and you can enter by swiping your ID card when you arrive at the gate of the scenic spot.
2. Pay attention to the weather changes. It's very tiring to climb the Great Wall. Keep warm. The temperature of the Great Wall will be lower than that in the urban area, and the wind is very strong. You can wear a hat to prevent the wind, otherwise your hair will keep blowing. If you need to protect yourself from sun in summer, apply more sun protection., wear sunglasses, and you can wear sunscreen clothing.
3. Bring your own water, and the price in the scenic area will be more expensive, and it will be even more expensive on the Great Wall, so bring water with you to climb the Great Wall.
4. Wear clothes and shoes suitable for sports. Anti-slip is very important. Some parts of the Great Wall have a large slope.
5. The scenic area can provide free luggage storage
6. If you are taking children or parents, it is recommended to use a cable car or ground cable or sled all the way, so that it will not be too tiring. If you are physically strong, you can choose two one-way trips. But the price will be more expensive than the two-way ticket.
Okay, this is all the strategies for the Badaling Great Wall. Finally, I wish everyone a perfect trip to the Great Wall ~
