(Note *: The "Haituo Mountain" marked in the picture in this article should all be "Haituo Mountain")
Haituo Mountain is located at the junction of northern Yanqing, Beijing and Chicheng County, Zhangjiakou City. It belongs to the Jundu Mountain System, with its highest peak at an altitude of 2241 meters.
In 2009, it was selected as one of the top ten "non-famous mountains" in China selected by the Institute of Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences and National Geographic Magazine of China.
Haituo Mountain has an area of more than 100 square kilometers. The overall mountain range runs southwest-northeast. It is a natural watershed between Beijing and Hebei.
The top of the mountain is a gentle meadow about 10 kilometers long, 500 meters wide, and about 100 meters at its narrowest point.
The three peaks above it are called Dahaituo (2241), Xiaohaituo (2198) and Sanhaituo (1854).
Haituo Mountain is like a large screen across the north of Beijing, becoming an important line of defense against sandstorms entering Beijing.
The mountains here are high and dense forests, and the well-preserved primitive secondary Pinus tabulaeformis forest is the most complete natural ecosystem in the surrounding areas of Beijing.
The ridge is the boundary between Chicheng County and Beijing City, Shanyin is the Dahaituo Nature Reserve, and Shanyang is the Songshan Nature Reserve.
It is a typical natural secondary broad-leaved forest in North China, which is composed of juglans manshurica, linden, white wax, elm, birch and other tree species.
The species of wild animals are also quite rich. There are 713 species of wild vascular plants and 216 species of wild vertebrates recorded in Songshan.
Above 1800 meters above sea level are the large meadow-type plant belt, including golden lotus, day lily, palm ginseng, sanguisorba, bistoria, Shandan, etc.
The mountains on the south side are steep, and there are torrential rains flying in summer. In ancient times, it was called "Haituo Flying Rain" and was one of the eight scenic spots in Guichuan.
There are few people near Haituo Mountain, and there is only one Xidazhuangke Village and Songshan Nature Reserve Management Office in Yanqing District, Beijing on the south side.
On the north side, there are three villages: Yanjiaping, Jiangzhuangzi and Dahaituo Village in Chicheng County, Hebei Province. There are only a few hundred people in dozens of square kilometers.

I only heard about Haituo Mountain very late, also because of the "Top Ten Unfamous Mountains"--
Jiucaoling (Hunan); Chuanding (Guangdong); Xiaowutai (Hebei); Aoshan (Shaanxi); Haituoshan (Beijing);
Wugong Mountain (Jiangxi); Jiuding Mountain (Sichuan); Xueling (Yunnan); Foding Mountain (Guizhou); Zagana Mountain (Gansu).
If we talk about the "Top Ten", even if we exclude the three mountains and five mountains, there are more than a hundred thousand non-famous strange mountains and dangerous peaks.
Because the Green Field Forum, which originated outdoors, and the organizers of the selection are both in Beijing, Haituo Mountain is more or less accessible to the water.
However, its vast meadow is like a high-latitude version of Wugong Mountain; there are also golden lotus flowers in midsummer, and the scenery is really not bad.
You don't have to worry about nowhere to climb mountains in Beijing. Lingshan, Haituo, and the barren wild Great Wall.
There is only one day left. This time, I will visit the famous Haituo Mountain first.
Because this place will be used as the venue for the 2022 Winter Olympics, Haituo Mountain has been declared completely closed.
After some inquiries, Xidazhuangke and Yanjiaping were selected as the crossing points, and the specific itinerary will be adapted accordingly.
One day in advance, Lao Zhang and I moved into GreenTree Inn located in Nancaiyuan, Yanqing District, so that we could take a bus to our destination the next day.
The next day, I arrived at the Nancaiyuan Bus Terminal opposite the hotel in the dark, grabbed the first bus on Y33 Road, and left at six o'clock.
Other than us, the only passengers on the bus were a burly elder sister. Looking at our luggage, we could guess that we were going hiking.
The car drove very fast in the morning, and it took more than half an hour to reach the terminal Xidazhuangke Village from Yanqing Center.
Lao Zhang and I got out of the car and drove around, feeling a little vague. In addition to a few private houses, there is only one management station or outpost.
There are sentries on guard at the mountain intersection of Xidazhuang Branch. It is several kilometers away from Yanjiaping, and there are also management stations guarding it.
Plans don't change as quickly as possible. It was the first time I encountered such a mountain closure at that time.
At this time, the big sister appeared "in time" and asked to drive us to Yanjiaping, asking for 100 yuan.
I thought it was a bit expensive according to the distance. At this time, Lao Zhang was very happy and paid for the bus, so he continued along Panshan Road to Yanjiaping.
It was sunrise on the road, and soon we arrived at Yanjiaping Village-we had already crossed from Beijing to Hebei.
After getting off the bus, I saw a guard box on the roadside and asked my eldest sister to accompany us there. The locals were easy to talk to.
Unexpectedly, the old guard refused to take advantage of the soft and tough situation. He pointed to the camera on the guard box and said that he had no choice but to let him go.
After all, the eldest sister received the money and helped us with the soft and hard work. Finally, the old man let go and said that as long as he couldn't see it, it would be fine.
So the eldest sister drove us forward a few hundred meters, dropped us down on the roadside, and said you should just stay on this hillside.
The car drove away, and the hillside was covered with dead grass. It seemed that it didn't matter where it came from.
So we rushed into the weeds that were taller than people, regardless of the thorns and withered poles on our faces, and rushed through them deeply and lightly.
Gradually they climbed the hillside, and the sentry box was below them. Afraid that the old man would come, he flopped for a while before sitting down and resting.

I traveled all the way from Beijing to Yanqing, catching the morning to find the dark and then reaching the foot of the mountain. After some hard work, we finally got on the right path to enter the mountain.
Lao Zhang had never had any experience climbing wild mountains before. The first time he climbed was a mountain in the north, which was thousands of miles away from home. The first time he encountered a mountain closed.
Who knew that two months later, when we went to the joint peak, we encountered another closed mountain, and there was another burst of destructive drilling in the forest. Is it really a coincidence...
Once on track, we began to move forward steadily. It was cloudy and cloudy that day, and the sun enjoyed a little light in the morning and then disappeared silently.
Start from going up the mountain, turn around to the mountainside and walk along the hillside road.
Looking on the right hand side of the road, you can see the glittering water surface of the water is the Guanting Reservoir in western Beijing. Two years later, I am passing it on my way to Xiaowutai.
Resting in the forest, I found that the water bottle was frozen. Not only the water bottle, but Lao Zhang's iPhone also stopped working!
Fortunately, the temperature was low, and the climb was not big, so I didn't feel thirsty. Lao Zhang took out hot water and drank two sips, and the whole veteran cadre behaved.
Lao Zhang's physical strength is unfathomable. No matter how urgent it is, it is a feeling of walking and inspecting. This line is too easy for him.
Although I have never been to Wugong Mountain, my gentle ridge and vast saddle are probably similar to Haituo Mountain.
In summer, this is a camping resort for hikers across the country. Green grass and golden flowers sunrise and sea of clouds, big pieces of meat and big bowls of wine.
--But does it really feel good to camp in such a dense manner?
--Summer camping event in Haituo Mountain
Of course, it's quite off-season for us to be here, and there are no green meadows or beer. I didn't see a third person the entire time.
Although I didn't have time to purchase so-called outdoor equipment, Lao Zhang listened to my various descriptions of temperature loss, and he was fully armed on this trip.
Thick cotton coat, cotton gloves, double cotton trousers, hot water, some chocolate...
So later, although I popularized all kinds of common sense of temperature loss to Lao Zhang, it was myself who almost lost temperature on the top of the mountain.
A valley on the right is the downhill road in the direction of Xidazhuangke. But before we do that, we have to complete the summit.
Walk past a weather observation tower and hide the bag in the bushes (you don't have to hide it because there was no one at all that day).
Walking through a pine forest, pine needles are like felt and are very elastic when you step on. After taking a nap, I walked out of the forest and looked at the head of Xiaohaituo Mountain.
There is a song called "Whispers in the Pine Forest". However, as soon as we emerged from the pine forest, we were greeted by a hurricane from the north.
Hurricanes appear without warning like heavy rains in summer.
Fog first rose on the shady side of the mountain, and then the thunderous wind rose from the bottom. After the fog quickly dispersed, the wind became explosive.
I was a little confused at the time. Although I had climbed mountains in the north before, most of them were sunny and sunny. This is the first time we have encountered a hurricane.
Return to the forest and retreat? If you are not very willing, then hurry up and rush to the top!
So Lao Zhang and I were close to each other, covering our faces with our headbands, tightening our hats and gloves, and we walked up the last hill against the hurricane.
We have reached the top! There is a stone tablet on the top of the mountain, and we finally climbed Haituo Mountain (Songshan).
Just on the top of the mountain, I encountered the most terrifying hurricane of my life. After exposing his hand for a few seconds, he lost consciousness, and his face continued to distort.
We finished taking the photo as quickly as possible. God knows that if you don't hold tight, your phone will be blown away without a trace in an instant!
What looks down on the four directions and points out the mountains and rivers... They no longer exist, and it is impossible to stay for another second!
The assault coat on his body was like a single coat at the moment, blowing completely close to his body by the wind.
It only took me a minute to rush down the hill of Xiaohaituo. The only thing I could think about at that time was to descend quickly and escape the hurricane.
He rushed straight to the saddle, gasping for breath, and watched Lao Zhang walk down from far and near calmly.
Thanks to the addition of a cotton military coat, Lao Zhang didn't feel cold, and he was still inch thick to keep him warm.
However, in just a few seconds after the top of the mountain took photos of me (my gloves could touch the screen so I didn't need to take them off), his hands could no longer move.
Lao Zhang was worried that his fingers would be frozen and needed to be amputated. Fortunately, the wind weakened when we reached the pass, and he soon regained consciousness.
In the past, countless summits have always been more relaxed and released along with the fatigue of rushing to the top; they have been born with pride.
Only this time, he was in a "semi-conscious" state and was in a panic for a moment, and he didn't even have time to look at the distant sea.
Looking through the photos, I thought-Haituo is higher (2241m), why did the main peak become the small Haituo (2198m) we climbed?
Looking at the provincial boundaries, it's probably because Dahaituo is located in Hebei and Xiaohaituo is located in Beijing.
I have seen many such situations in various places. Moreover, the definition criterion of "main peak" does not limit to altitude.
--The thin white line is the boundary between Beijing and Hebei
Back in the bushes in Zangbao, although the wind was strong at this time, we were not affected because we were hiding in the saddle.
However, the cold fog was still sharp, and after sitting for a while, there was already frost on my bag. Walking through the pass we passed when we arrived, we began to descend the mountain.
Stepping on knee-wide fallen leaves, this dry environment is really prone to mountain fires!
Compared with the gentle uphill road, the drop down the mountain is nearly 300 meters more and the horizontal distance is shorter, so they are all steep slopes.
Lao Zhang's sneakers couldn't withstand the impact of his toes, so at my suggestion, he decided to "travel 80,000 miles a day on the ground"!
This posture is understood by anyone who has climbed mountains. The good thing is that the fallen leaves are thick and don't hurt your butt. At most, you need some pants.
There were no detours along the way, and the altitude dropped sharply. It was not long before they reached the mountain path.
The terrible hurricane on the other side of the mountain could not be heard as long as it entered the valley. In the tranquility, only Xi Xi's footsteps were treading on dead leaves.
Although the ice and snow in the mountains have not yet melted, the terrifying chill in our hearts has long disappeared.
The asphalt road down to the foot of the mountain. We met a kind local man and took a ride back to Xida Zhuangke Village quickly.
This is the place where I got off the bus this morning. It's still the management station, the few sentries, but there are still no people at the entrance of the village.
However, after completing the seven-and-a-half-hour journey, we are extremely relaxed at the moment.
Lao Zhang proudly took a commemorative photo in front of the management station. Then we took a bus to Yanqing and then back to downtown Beijing.
That night, I tasted the legendary "stewed" for the first time, and the taste was not bad!
