2020 is destined to be unforgettable for everyone. Since the beginning of the year, everyone's lives have been forced to make changes, and we are no exception. Originally, they resigned to see more of the world during their prime years. Unexpectedly, less than halfway through the goal of global travel, the world temporarily slowed down the pace of communication.
But when the world closes a door for you, it will definitely open another window for you. We are still lucky because there are too many surprises waiting for us to explore the 9.6 million square kilometers of land in the motherland. In spring, we drove around dozens of cities in ten provinces in eighty days. The north is majestic and vast, the west is rough and heroic, the south is beautiful, and the east is vibrant. The journey is 12000 kilometers. We deeply fell in love with the feeling of self-driving in China.
Although most people may not have the time and energy to spend a few months traveling, in fact, as long as they have the heart, cities and countryside are also endless fun. In the late summer and early autumn of the past two years, we would drive to the suburbs of Beijing to discover the wild attractions beyond the high-rise buildings in the capital.
Encounter romance in the forest
Enjoy the brilliance of the fields
Travel through winding mountain roads
Ride across the vast grassland
Deep into the mysterious ancient road
As a Haval Dog Experience Officer, discover more wild attractions around Beijing with this trendy travel companion.
There are so many different scenery above, but they are all in Beijing, and this is only a small part of the scenery in the suburbs of Beijing. Looking at the distribution map of attractions below, people have to sigh at the size of the Imperial Capital!
Several districts and counties in the suburbs of Beijing have their own scenery. For example, the red leaves in Miyun are very beautiful in late autumn, but now in late summer, the mountains and grass are luxuriant. They want to escape the Urban area to avoid the summer heat, so they choose to explore the northwest line.

After driving nearly 700 kilometers in five days, we encountered heavy rain in the first half and experienced rugged road conditions in the back. However, the Haval Dog was our new travel companion and overcame various weather and terrain challenges.
Tips:
1. The scenic spots in the suburbs of Beijing are scattered and far away from the Urban area. When there is enough time, you can connect the loop lines to play in series; but if time is limited, such as using two or three days of weekends and short holidays, you can carry out them in different areas. For example, our trip this time can be divided into the west lines of Mentougou and Fangshan, and the north lines of Yanqing, and played separately.
2. There are no limits on weekends in Beijing, and there are many people who go to the suburbs to play. They may encounter traffic jams, so try to stagger the weekend peak hours. 3. The main traffic conditions such as highways and national highways are relatively good, but mountainous areas and some scenic spots will have complex road conditions. For example, the road on the first line is potholes and the Hongjing Road has many corners. Fortunately, the 1.5T engine is matched with a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox. Coupled with the newly constructed high-strength body and well-supported suspension system, the Haval Dog can drive easily and comfortably on the rugged mountain roads in the suburbs of Beijing, and can handle continuous cornering leisurely.
Address: North of Miaofengshan Town, Mentougou District, West Beijing
Tickets: 40 yuan/person
Opening hours: 8:30-16:30
Tips for self-driving: Vehicles cannot enter the scenic spot and can be parked in the parking lot at the entrance
Miaofeng Mountain is located in Mentougou District, only fifty to sixty kilometers away from the urban area of Beijing. It is regarded as one of the relatively close attractions in the suburbs of Beijing. It belongs to the Taihang Mountains. The biggest features of the scenic area are rime and ancient temples. If winter comes, the mountains and plains are covered in silver will be very spectacular; although there is no rime spectacle now, the temple groups built in the Liao and Jin Dynasties still attract many believers to pay homage.
But to be honest, the temple is not very attractive to us, but the scenery along the way is more worth stopping by. The main peak of Miaofeng Mountain is 1291 meters above sea level, so the road spirals up according to the mountain. Driving a Haval Dog sometimes drives fast on the road, sometimes through the tree-lined trees, changing the scenery.
On the way, you will pass through many hidden "attractions". Sometimes it seems like just an inconspicuous small dirt road, but when you go deeper, it suddenly becomes clear. The dense forests and streams isolate the noise of the outside world. Whether it is walking along the water or outdoor picnics, it is very interesting.
When we came down from the top of the mountain, it rained heavily halfway, but fortunately, we had the big Haval dog to block the wind and rain. Although the raindrops as big as beans fell on it, we felt at ease in the car. At this moment, I couldn't help but re-examine the naming of Haval. After a collective vote by netizens around the world, it was finally determined that the down-to-earth and popular "Haval Dog" was indeed as loyal and reliable as mankind's best friend.
When we arrived at our destination at night, the sky was already getting dark. Although we had been hungry all the way, when we looked up and saw the starry sky that had been long lost in the city, all the fatigue seemed to be swept away.
Cuanxixia Village is located in Zhaitang Town, Mentougou District, in the western suburbs, with an altitude of 650 meters. In 2009, it was rated as "the Most Beautiful Village in Beijing" and was selected into the list of the first batch of city-level traditional villages in Beijing in the past two years.
The ancient village was built during the Yongle Period of the Ming Dynasty and has a history of more than 500 years. It is the most well-preserved ancient residential complex. There are currently more than 70 Ming and Qing courtyards and more than 600 houses. The entire village is built against the mountains, according to the situation, with scattered heights and heights. The village and under the village are separated by a large arc-shaped wall 200 meters long and 20 meters high. The front of the village is surrounded by a 170-meter-long bow wall, making the whole village more united.
Because it is only more than a hundred kilometers away from Beijing, it attracts many tourists who come for weekend vacations. As a result, the locals have transformed many ancient courtyards into characteristic houses, including warm courtyards, traditional earth kang, and small things full of a sense of the times. Things... make time seem to slow down.
Self-driving tips:
To enter the village, you need to purchase tickets for Cuanbai Scenic Area at the entrance. It costs 35 yuan/person. Several attractions including Cuanxia, Yixiantian and Baiyu can be reached by car. Each attraction has free parking lot.
Just three kilometers away from Cuanxixia Village, where the years are quiet, there is a strange but familiar wild place-a line of heaven in western Beijing. The Huarong Road in "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms" and the narrow road encounter in "The Warlords" were both filmed here.
In fact, this place was originally called Xiaobeigou Valley, and locals also called it Chuandi Ankou. It is connected to the village, like the neck of a treasure gourd, protecting this small village.
Self-driving tips:
This section of the road in Yixiantian is only a few hundred meters long, with varying widths and widths, and there are places where vehicles can miss. You can drive directly through, or you can park your car in the parking lot at the end and return for a walk tour.
Traffic is relatively heavy during the day on weekends. If you want to offset the peak, you can go there early in the morning or at night. However, there is no mobile phone signal or light source in the valley, so pay attention to safety.
Hongjing Road, also known as Shixia Road, is known as the "Beijing Road 99". It is a mountain road that winds through the high mountains of Fangshan District. The continuous corners and undulating terrain make Hongjing Road one of the online celebrity check-in spots for self-driving and cycling enthusiasts in Beijing and surrounding areas.
Haval Dog's mature 1.5T+7-speed dual-clutch power combination, coupled with the suspension system supported in place, easily speeds up during climbing mountains and overtaking. The body roll is not obvious when cornering continuously. The entire chassis gives people a full sense of confidence and security.
Self-driving tips:
Although this area is a highway, there are multiple parking spaces on the roadside at the top with the best view, so you can park and take photos, but you must still pay attention to safety.
There will be a lot of traffic here during holidays. It is recommended to choose a weekday or come back in the evening. Not only will there be fewer cars and fewer people, but you may also encounter a stunning sunset.
Address: Next to County Road 017, west of Kangzhuang Town, Yanqing District
Tickets: The official opening is currently suspended. Admission can be asked by the staff at the door
Self-driving tips:Vehicles can drive directly into the scenic area, but there are animals such as cattle and horses on the grassland, so pay attention to avoid them safely.
Kangxi Grassland is adjacent to Guanting Reservoir in the west and Haituo Mountain in the north. It has more than 30,000 acres of grassland. It is the largest grassland in Beijing. It was originally a popular weekend destination in the suburbs of Beijing. You can go sightseeing by horse during the day and bonfire at night.
But I don't know if it was due to the epidemic recently, but it was temporarily open to the public. We also tried it with the idea of taking our luck, but fortunately we came in. However, it is precisely because there are few people that they can drive recklessly on the grass. Although the Haval Dog focuses on urban off-road, it has multiple driving modes that can be switched at will, coupled with the high chassis clearance, allowing us to have a good off-road addiction.
Although it is late summer and the grassland is not as lush, it does not delay the cattle gate to eat grass at all. It is probably because we are used to seeing tourists and are not afraid to approach them. We regard our "Haval Dog" as friends.
In addition to driving a car to ride on the grasslands, horse riding is also the most must-miss experience when you come here. After all, on weekdays, even the best horse can only go around in a narrow space. Only here can they truly enjoy the joy of running freely.
Riding Tips:
There are several ways to get in close contact with horses here--
Walking horses, that is, riding horses and sightseeing along the grassland, is suitable for ordinary tourists.
Horse racing, also known as fast horse, is to ride along the planned horse path and is suitable for tourists who have a certain amount of riding.
In-court horse riding, commonly known as circle horse, is riding on the racetrack and is suitable for beginners. However, since we have come to the prairie, there is no need to limit ourselves to the racetrack.
As for the price, generally speaking, it is 30 yuan per lap, 100 yuan per person for walking horses, and 200 yuan per person for horse racing. However, after all, it is not officially open at present, so the price is still based on on-site communication with the horse owner.
Baili Shanshui Gallery is located on Luanchi Road, which is known as one of the most beautiful self-driving roads in the suburbs of Beijing. It is actually not a separate attraction, but a landscape belt composed of twelve nodes in three districts, because it involves 112 Huali of the Riverside Ring Road., hence the name. The entire area includes geological landscapes such as Silicified Wood Group, Wulong Canyon, Little Kunlun Mountain, Shujian Peak, dinosaur footprint fossil remains, and marine sedimentary relics, as well as Dishui Pot, Datan Nature Reserve, thousands of acres of sunflower sea, and tens of thousands of acres of Huangqin Tea Garden, Yanshan Academy Sketching Base and other natural landscapes, as well as cultural landscapes such as Chaoyang Temple, Xiushuiwan, Changshou Ridge, Gujiayao, Caimugou Paleolithic Site, and Wenchang Monument.
Driving a Haval dog all the way through mountains and rivers is indeed worthy of the name of the "Landscape Gallery". Moreover, this section of road is wide and gentle, and female drivers can easily drive it.
There are too many small attractions along the way, so it may not be so easy to visit them all. But in fact, many people come to Luanchi Road to drive their own cars not for the attractions they need to buy tickets to, but to experience rural life.
Although the solar terms have already begun autumn, it is also a blessing in the afternoon to be able to catch the tail of summer and blend into a sea of flowers.
Driving to a pond, many people drove in with their families and set up tents and hammocks. The children played in the water and the adults enjoyed a rare time to relax.
We also found a quiet place to park our cars. This time, our wild self-driving trip in the suburbs of Beijing is about to come to an end. We have been chasing the beautiful scenery for a few days, and we have the Haval dog, a trendy new travel companion, to seize the summer. Tail, live up to the good times...
