1 Royal Culture

Beijing has a history of being the capital for more than 800 years. The last three feudal dynasties were all chosen in Beijing. Many of them can be said to be witnesses of the prosperity of royal culture.

1-1 Forbidden City

The Forbidden City is the epitome of Chinese culture. In planning, it follows the rules left by the ancestors such as the Five Elements Eight Trigrams and the "Zhou Rites·Kaogong Ji"(such as the previous dynasties and the later beds). The functional designs of the buildings are also the most outstanding among ancient buildings. After all, it was made for the royal family by the power of the whole country.

Winter is the time when the Forbidden City has the fewest people, so take pictures as you like.

In addition, the collections of the Forbidden City are also worth a visit. There are various temporary exhibitions at the Wumen Gate, Wuying Hall, and Wenhua Hall from time to time. They are not of great significance to tourists. Most of them are calligraphy and painting. Most people are not interested and just join in the fun, so it is not recommended to see it.

This year's Spring Festival celebration exhibition is a hit for all ages and is displayed on the Meridian Gate.

Relatively speaking, the exhibits in the Treasure Hall and the Watch Hall are much easier to understand. If you are energetic and don't mind spending an extra 20 yuan for admission, I recommend going in and have a look. If you choose one of the two, it's the Treasure Hall. What is hidden inside is like palace jewelry and religious ritual utensils, which makes you feel nb at a glance, and there is no obstacle to understanding.

If you want to go to the Forbidden City, summer vacation is not recommended first. The temperature will consume half of your physical strength and almost all your brain power...

To the extent conditions permit, you can set aside most of a day to visit the Forbidden City. After walking through the three main halls from the Meridian Gate, the last three palaces are paired with the East Sixth Palace (Treasure Hall). Lunch can be served at the Forbidden City restaurant. The price is relatively reasonable. The cheapest beef rice set meal at the Ice Cellar Restaurant is 50+, which feels quite conscientious.

Another thing is, before leaving the Forbidden City from Shenwu Gate, you can climb the city wall and walk on it. The scenery is definitely extraordinary.

Imagine traveling back 200 years ago. The palace inside the city wall is the highest and most advanced place in Beijing.

Enter the Forbidden City: You can choose Metro Line 1 to get off at Tiananmen East Station.(1) Go north from Tiananmen Gate, pass through Duanmen Gate to Wumen Gate, and enter the Forbidden City. However, this road will be very crowded during peak season, and you will also encounter Tiananmen security checks. The queuing time is uncontrollable;(2) Get off Tiananmen East Station, follow Nanchizi Street to Donghuamen, and then walk along Tongzihe River to Wumen. This road is less crowded and can avoid Tiananmen security checks, but you can't see Tiananmen Square. Of course, you can also choose to take a taxi to Xihuamen or Donghuamen, and walk along Tongzi River to Wumen.

Leaving the Forbidden City: Public transportation is the most convenient if you don't make an appointment for a private car in advance. It is very convenient to go to Xidan, Dongdan, etc. by bus. You can also ride a bicycle if you have the strength.

Nearby food: You can go to Di 'anmen to eat Emei Restaurant. The Four Seasons Minfu Roast Duck at the East Gate of the Forbidden City is also good, but there are a lot of people in the queue. There are actually more choices when taking the bus to Xidan Dongdan

1-2 Summer Palace/Yuanmingyuan

A model of royal garden. Going to the Summer Palace in summer will definitely be more suitable for the scenery. Just choose one of the two is enough. You can take a boat in the Summer Palace. I haven't been to Yuanmingyuan for a long time. It should mainly rely on legs. Let me mainly talk about the Summer Palace.

The main thing you enter the Summer Palace is the royal/Chinese gardens. It is like walking in nature, with each step of the scene, and there are many emotions created.

Along Kunming Lake, take the veranda to see the colorful paintings on it, walk to the Seventeen-Arch Bridge and leave the garden, or go around the original gate and return.

Don't go on holidays... I remember the last time I took the old man to push a wheelchair to the Summer Palace on May Day, but I couldn't walk at all...

Transportation: It is convenient to take a taxi or rent a car, one door enters and the other door exits, no turning back.

1-3 Great Wall

The Great Wall was a representative of ancient China's national strength and a symbol of imperial power. There are actually Great Wall in many provinces and cities, but there are more choices in Beijing, and there are also advantages in image. Juyongguan, Badaling, Mutianyu, Jiankou, Shuiguan... but the peak season is really crowded.

My team has its own content on the Great Wall, and chose the Ancient Great Wall. The advantage is that when the foot of the mountain is crowded, the Ancient Great Wall is like a virgin land. At the same time, other nearby folk experiences will be arranged to support the whole day. Otherwise, the journey to and from the Great Wall would be too wasteful.

Nearby food: Good food near the Great Wall seems difficult to find. The Chuangwang Banquet we chose in Shixia Village is really a super cure! Don't worry about how tired you are, you will definitely recover from a meal~

Once we even ran to the opposite side of the Badaling Ancient Great Wall. It was not a scenic spot. Although it had been repaired, it was very steep... I didn't dare to climb up, and I felt dizzy looking at it...

1-4 Sacrifice: Temple of Heaven/Earth/Xiannong Altar

As the name suggests, they are three places where Tiantian, Tiandi, Nongsang, etc. Among them, Ditan has the lowest playability. Fangze Altar in the middle is not open to the public at all and is just a large park. Tourists from other places don't have to go unless they have a lot of affection for Shi Tiesheng.

Tour groups often go to the Temple of Heaven, where there are many buildings and echo walls to chat about.

But I like to go to Xiannong Altar next to the Temple of Heaven most. It is now the Museum of Ancient Architecture. There is very little about sacrifices in it, but it introduces the evolution of Chinese architecture in a very detailed manner. 3-1 Peking Opera: Tradition, Innovation, In-depth Experience

Just like going to Hangzhou to watch Yue Opera, going to Suzhou to listen to Pingtan and watch Kunqu Opera, and going to Chengdu to watch Sichuan Opera changing its face, coming to Beijing is suitable for listening to the opera seriously, but not everyone is willing to listen to the opera.

The three brothers in Peking have the best sheep tendons I have ever eaten! It won't be hard cooked for a long time. I still remember the first time I went to eat, I ran over in the snow and lined up. The store opened another place. First, I took mutton kebabs as the bottom, and then started to rinse the sheep tendons. That fragrant feeling is unforgettable for a lifetime. Later, I haven't eaten mutton kebabs and sheep tendons that fragrant.

Nanmen Shabu has been eaten by Houhai, Nanmen of Tiantan and Ditan Riverside. It is a familiar taste and has no merit or fault. It is a good place to go there when you don't know what to eat.

Roast duck: Duck craftsman, blessing the people in all seasons, and four generations live together

The duck craftsman craves it every once in a while! When inviting friends or partners from other places to dinner, this is usually the choice. There is nothing to fault with roast duck, but the salted and pepper duck rack is really not delicious. Anyway, I have never eaten a delicious duck rack... The only shortcoming is that there is no elevator going upstairs, which is inconvenient for the elderly. The menu has been changed this year. There are no kimchi anymore. I am disappointed ~

It's also good to have four generations living together in the same house, but the environment is noisy.

Beijing (or non-Beijing) snacks that you may not be accustomed to

The small intestine is old. I crave this as soon as I get near the front door. This is also a rare place where people accept eating garlic. The most pleasant thing I dreamed of was the appearance of the elders in the store, alone, a bowl of stewed rice, and a bottle of waiter.

Feng made a very detailed division of the stomachs of cattle and sheep... I don't even remember what I wanted ~ I don't ask the store and just choose a chewy one!

Anne old horses are sold for a little. The first time I ate it, I was surprised. The mutton stuffing was sold for a while and it was very fragrant, but it was extremely salty. No matter how much vinegar you add, it seemed to be freshly placed, so the waiting time was slightly longer. Moreover, sheep offal soup and egg soup are not good to drink. The second time I went there, it was no longer salty, but it was no longer fragrant. It was so strange. I wonder if it will be delicious next time.
