How beautiful is autumn in Beijing? Lao She once said,"You must live in Peiping in autumn. There is nothing unsatisfactory in autumn in Peiping." Beijing in autumn is like a paradise. The most beautiful scenery in heaven will definitely have a place for golden ginkgo.
From the end of October to the end of November every year, about 20 days, is the best season to watch ginkgo in Beijing. There are many famous ginkgo avenues in the capital, which are intoxicating in beauty. Yellow leaves, red walls and blue skies make the mark of Beijing in autumn.
From mid-October to mid-November, in about 40 days, we visited Beijing Langfa Urban Forest Park, Juyongguan Great Wall, Zizhuyuan Park, Lianhuachi Park, Grand View Garden, Tianyuan Park, Taoranting Park, Yuanmingyuan, Diaoyutai, Sanlitun East Fifth Street, Ditan Park, Yonghegong Palace, Forbidden City, Xiangshan Park, Yuetan Park, Beigong Forest Park, Tiantan Park, Jingshan Park, World Flower Grand View Garden, Caoqiao Scenic Area, Watch colorful forest red leaves in more than a dozen places such as Wanshou Park (for details, please refer to my other work,"Colorful Forest Red Leaves that Must Visit in Beijing in Autumn").
Following the footsteps of time, we walked through the most beautiful ginkgo forests in Beijing one by one, and visited the six most famous ginkgo avenues and ginkgo scenic spots in Beijing: Yuanmingyuan Ginkgo Avenue, Diaoyutai Ginkgo Avenue, Sanlitun Dongfifth Street Ginkgo Avenue, Ditan Park Ginkgo Avenue, Yonghegong Ginkgo Avenue, Yuetan Ginkgo Avenue, as well as patches of Tianyuan Park Ginkgo Forest, Taoranting Park Ginkgo Forest, etc., are introduced as follows:
Ginkgo leaves outside Beijing turn yellow earlier than in the city. In late October, golden ginkgo trees appeared on the Great Wall of Juyongguan, but not many were formed into forests.
Ginkgo Forest in Tianyuan Park, November 2. The park is located in Lugouqiao Township, Fengtai District. There is a large ginkgo forest in the park, covering a large area, making it the most "fun" ginkgo forest.
Tianyuan Park is a country park that many old Beijingers don't know about, but the large ginkgo forest is beautiful.
The Ginkgo Forest is located in Xuanqiu Garden. It seems a bit exaggerated to describe the Ginkgo Forest in an overwhelming manner. It is no worse than the most famous Diaoyutai Ginkgo Avenue in Beijing.
The ginkgo forest in Tianyuan Park is not long, but the area of Guizi is several times larger than that of Diaoyutai Ginkgo Avenue.
We went at the right time. The ginkgo leaves were very bright and gorgeous.
Looking around, you can see golden ginkgo leaves.
From a distance, it looks like a large golden carpet is spread on the ground, which looks particularly beautiful.
Many tourists put on or bring bright clothes and go wild in the Ginkgo Grove. It is very fun.
Because the ginkgo leaves were not cleaned, the road was covered with golden yellow leaves. When you stepped on the golden leaves, you could hear crisp sounds in your ears, and your eyes were full of beautiful shots.
The trees are full of gold and the ground is full of trees, making Tianyuan Park a golden and dreamy place.
There are no buildings or service facilities around the ginkgo forest.
Many tourists ride shared bicycles directly into the ginkgo forest.
Ginkgo Forest has become a photography world with 360-degree carnival without dead corners.
Taoranting Park is located on the northwest side of Taoran Bridge in the South Second Ring Road of Beijing City. There are two ginkgo forests in the park, which can be described as "pleasant" ginkgo forests.
Taoranting Ginkgo Forest is mainly concentrated in the Tanying Liujin Scenic Area.
There is a high-looking ginkgo forest here. Although the scale is not very large, because it is located by the lake, water is spiritual.
The ginkgo forest in Taoran Pavilion is dense and lush, tall and straight, and the stream full of fallen leaves meanders past, giving a unique feeling of small bridges and flowing water.
Under the reflection of the sun and the color contrast of the green lawn, the golden fallen leaves floating on the lake are particularly eye-catching.
Although the ginkgo forest near the lake is surrounded by iron railings, it still cannot stop tourists from climbing over the railings and entering the ginkgo forest.
There is also a small ginkgo forest near the south gate of Taoranting Park.
A ginkgo tree at the south gate is particularly bright under the sunshine.
Yuanmingyuan is located in the northwest suburbs of Beijing. Its Ginkgo Avenue is located at the junction of the three gardens. It is about a thousand meters long and can be said to be the "longest" Ginkgo Avenue.
Entering from the south gate of Yuanmingyuan, there is a long Ginkgo Avenue in the direction of Qichun Garden leading to Fuhai, which is as famous as summer lotus flowers.
The avenue stretches for nearly a thousand meters wide, with hundreds of ginkgo trees standing neatly on both sides.
More than 200 ginkgo trees more than 30 years old are waiting for tourists to arrive.
The autumn wind starts, gold leaves pave the way, blue sky, red walls, fallen leaves, and vines, creating a beautiful autumn scenery.
Ginkgo Avenue seems to have no end.
Tourists visiting the Yuanmingyuan ruins are tempted by this charming scenery.
The red vines on the wall complement each other with the golden ginkgo trees.
Diaoyutai Ginkgo Avenue is located outside the east wall of Diaoyutai State Guesthouse on Sanlihe Road, Xicheng District, Beijing City. It is about 800 meters long. It is a landmark of Beijing Ginkgo and can be said to be the most "tallest" Ginkgo Avenue.
The most popular place to watch ginkgo every year is definitely Diaoyutai Ginkgo Avenue! This is the earliest famous sacred place to see ginkgo in Beijing.
Because it is the weekend, it has become the Ginkgo Avenue with the most people.
The straight Ginkgo Avenue is full of people. Old people and children admiring apricot leaves,"photographers" holding long guns and short cannons, and "painters" holding up drawing boards have also become a scene in the forest.
It is said that the ginkgo trees here are the first batch planted in Beijing and are denser and thicker than those in Ditan.
Looking up into the distance, people who are "photographers","taking wedding photos","walking","picking ginkgo fruits", and "walking with pets" merge into this beautiful scenery, which is very warm.
The fragrant grass under the tree is covered with thick golden ginkgo leaves, and the ginkgo trees look golden.
Walking among them, you can see the "soft" fallen leaves at your feet, the "rustling sound of nature" after the wind blows in your ears, and the golden flakes flying around you.
The avenue is located in the Embassy District of Beijing and is about 500 meters long. Because foreign handsome and beautiful women often appear, it is the most "fashionable" Ginkgo Avenue.
To enter this Ginkgo Avenue, you must use your ID card and check it by the guards before entering.
On both sides are the embassies of Turkey, Zaire, Denmark, Argentina, Cameroon, Switzerland and Mexico. Compared with the people coming and going in the park attractions, this place is much more serious, and the guards on guard will watch your every move.
Because of its special location, there are few people and few cars here. It is one of the best places to enjoy ginkgo trees and experience the quiet autumn scenery. It is really a rare pure land in Beijing.
The tall ginkgo trees on both sides of the road are luxuriant and shiny under the sunshine, like a fairy tale world.
Ginkgo Avenue, Dongfifth Street, Sanlitun, combined with exotic buildings, is extremely beautiful.
Due to the quietness, the beautiful scenery of ginkgo trees is even more beautiful here. Strolling on Sanlitun East Fifth Street is especially like being in the ending scene of a certain movie.
Because I don't work on weekends, it's rare to see handsome and beautiful women.
Due to the strong wind and rain in the past two days, a lot of ginkgo leaves have also fallen. We did not see Sanlitun Ginkgo Avenue at its best.
Ginkgo trees outside the walls of the embassy.
Ginkgo Avenue in Ditan Park is located on Andingmenwai Street in Dongcheng Area, Beijing City. It is said that some ginkgo trees were planted when Ditan was built. It is the "oldest" Ginkgo Avenue.
The golden leaves and red walls on Ginkgo Avenue in Ditan Park are particularly artistic.
As the famous Ginkgo Avenue in Beijing, Ditan Park has always been a charming scenery that cannot be missed in autumn in Beijing.
Although Ditan Park Ginkgo Avenue is located in the center of the city, it enjoys a pure land amidst the hustle and bustle.
Entering from the north gate of Ditan, you can see two rows of tall ginkgo trees.
It is said that Park Ginkgo Avenue is the oldest Ginkgo Avenue in Beijing and has a very historical sense.
More than 200 ginkgo trees in the park were planted in the late 1950s.
Every late autumn, the ground is golden under the trees.
The Ginkgo Avenue of Lama Temple is located at the entrance of Lama Temple. The ancient buildings of Lama Temple and ginkgo leaves blend with each other, making it the most "tranquil" Ginkgo Avenue.
Ginkgo Avenue in Ditan Park and Ginkgo Avenue in Yonghegong are very close to each other and can be viewed together.
The ginkgo trees on Yinxing Avenue of Yonghegong Palace are in their prime and are all over 30 years old, so the trees are tall and dense.
The Ginkgo Avenue of Yonghegong Palace is covered with small golden fans and the scenery is beautiful. It is known as the "quietest Ginkgo Avenue".
The Ginkgo Avenue of Yonghegong Palace is golden in autumn and intoxicating.
The golden color of ginkgo is intertwined with the light and shadow of ancient buildings, making it particularly artistic.
Yuetan Ginkgo Avenue is located outside Fuchengmen in Xicheng District, Beijing City. Although the park is small, it has a ginkgo avenue and many ginkgo forests. It can be said to be the "most beautiful" ginkgo park.
More than 200 ginkgo trees planted in the last century turn into golden patches every late autumn, with colorful leaves and unique artistic conception.
There is a large row of ginkgo trees inside and outside the walls of Yuetan Park. They are bright yellow and contrast with the gray walls and green tiles.
Red walls and yellow leaves.
The gray walls hidden among the ginkgo trees show the tranquility and longevity of this place.
Another ginkgo avenue in the park.
Ginkgo biloba has luxuriant branches and leaves, and the scenery is romantic and quiet.
The blue sky and the yellow leafy land fall all the way into the ancient altar and temple, like a path paved with gold.
The pavilion in the park is decorated with ginkgo trees.
Yuetan Park is not large in area, but in recent years, ginkgo in Ditan Park has become a "online celebrity check-in place".
In the park, ginkgo leaves rustled down and covered the entire ground.
There are ginkgo trees everywhere in the park, which is worthy of being called the "Most Beautiful Ginkgo Park."
When chasing ginkgo trees in the capital, we must also talk about the weather. Only five days later, on the 19th, we entered Yuetan Park again. Ginkgo Avenue became a different look, and the avenue became a light fork.
Because of the strong winds and rainfall in the past two days, ginkgo leaves fell like rain in the park that was once full of golden color, leaving yellow leaves all over the ground.
Autumn in Beijing comes and goes quickly. A strong wind and rain on November 15 and the first snow in Beijing on November 21 instantly caused the ginkgo trees in the city to basically wither, leaving only dead branches. At this point, our 2020 ginkgo viewing activities have ended.
In the autumn of 2020, although I seized the time to view Beijing's most famous Ginkgo boulevards, strong winds and snowfall made it less than 20 days to view ginkgo in Beijing.
Although in the autumn of 2020, there was not enough time to watch ginkgo trees, we still visited several ginkgo boulevards, including Tianyuan Park, Taoranting Park, Yuanmingyuan, Diaoyutai, Sanlitun East Fifth Street, Ditan Park, Yonghegong Temple, and Yuetan, which are the most famous in the capital. It was quite satisfactory.
In autumn, ginkgo trees are everywhere in the capital. There is also a Ginkgo Avenue outside the community where we live.
This Ginkgo Avenue is not long old, but it will become a charming Ginkgo sightseeing avenue in the future.
There is also a small-scale ginkgo trail in our community.
Walking on the Ginkgo Trail every day, I feel good.
We regard it as the "World Flower Grand View Garden" in the back garden, and there are also sporadic ginkgo trees.
When you have nothing to do, it is also good to go for a walk in the park and check in to check in ginkgo.
The capital also has Zhanggezhuang (Beijing's largest ginkgo forest), Changying Park, Aosen Park, Guo Moruo Memorial Hall, Peking University Tsinghua University, Beijing Forestry University, Zhongshan Park, Badachu Park, Hongluo Temple, Tanzhe Temple (Emperor Tree), Xifeng Temple, Wuta Temple, Beijing Botanical Garden, Dajue Temple, Summer Palace, Gaolizhang Village, Huangchenggen Heritage Park, Jiangfu Park, National Library, and other places where the ginkgo forest cannot be viewed. We can only wait for the coming year to continue.
Watching ginkgo in 2020 is not a pity! Thanks for reading!
