Finally, we have survived until the age of 40, with a rare opportunity to take a day off. This is also a dream that our 10-year-old baby has had for many years, and it is also a dream of realizing our own capital city. This year is also the first year of opening up after three years of the epidemic. There are many people planning to travel, and we finally embarked on the journey of Chongqing Beijing with our wife and children at the end of July. Big Smart and Little Cute are so happy that we can only describe them with excitement and excitement.
D1 (7.28) high-speed train: Chongqing Beijing
After a seven hour long journey, fortunately, I prepared two movies on my tablet in advance. The two babies watched the movies and hummed a little song along the way, and without much annoyance, they arrived at Beijing West Station. I stayed at a small hotel outside the third ring road of Beijing for only 320 nights, which was contacted by colleagues from the stability maintenance office of my unit. Here is a reminder to friends that if you want to stay in Beijing, you don't necessarily have to arrange accommodation within the first and second ring roads. A stay of over 800 to 1000 nights is still not worth it. As long as you are in a hotel close to the subway station, it is very convenient. You can go out by subway and get to every scenic spot quickly and conveniently.
D2 (7.29): Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City
In order to personally experience the shocking flag raising ceremony with our children, we didn't sleep on the first night of arriving at the hotel. We had dinner early at around 9 pm and lined up for the flag raising ceremony at 5:10 am the next day. When we arrived, there were already crowds, and people from all over the country came to the queue. It felt like all the Chinese people had come to Beijing, standing and sitting on the ground, and those with mats were laying on the ground, all in various forms, rushing to the "first row" position and preparing for an all night+800 meter sprint.
Finally, when we finally made it to the release point, our family was very clever and rushed forward. I rode on top of my head with a 4-year-old cutie, running frantically all the way, followed by my lonely mother. When we ran into Tiananmen Square, the first row was already empty, and standing in about the third row was not bad. Not long after, we had already gathered around seven or eight floors, and we couldn't even see how many floors were behind us. As we were about to start, Big Smart took the opportunity to squeeze into the front row. Fortunately, a young lady in the first row asked him to stand in the first row near the guardrail. The three of us were in the third and fourth rows, and before we even started, we were hard pressed. After standing on the ground for over 2 hours, my legs are no longer my own. Finally, at 5:10, the flag raising ceremony was held, and the three military honor guards came out of Shuijin Bridge. Next, the national anthem sounded, and the red flag could fly. Just look at the picture.

It's really queuing up all night, watching flags for 3 minutes!

At the beginning of the day, it's time to clock in and take photos in front of Tiananmen Square, and of course, you can also take a nap on the ground in Tiananmen Square.
The crowds and crowds are just for leaving behind beautiful moments
We stayed up all night, and the children were already hungry. They went outside the front door to make up for it. Next, we will enter the Forbidden City through the Donghua Gate. It is best to rent a tour guide outside the gate when entering the Forbidden City. The location and explanation are much better than a tour guide, and you can browse according to the picture or freely travel. However, all palaces need to be walked to, and you need a pair of special forces legs for a day.

Just after seeing the Forbidden City in the afternoon, I was about to leave the palace gate at 5 o'clock to go to Jingshan Park when suddenly there was a strong wind, pouring rain, and my whole body was soaked, even my underwear was wet. Just like this, rainstorm in Beijing for more than two days in a row, and many places were affected by disasters, all the scenic spots were closed. The previously scheduled itinerary was completely disrupted, so we had to stay in the hotel and sleep.
At this moment, compared to their accommodation of over 800 to 1000 nights within the first ring road, I feel relatively comfortable sleeping.
D3 (7.30): The scenic spot is closed and it rains heavily in the afternoon, so I have to stroll around the nearby Wanda Plaza
D4 (7.31): braved the rain and went to Wangfujing and Nanluoguxiang

In the afternoon, when the rain stopped, I went to Shichahai and Yanbaoxie Street.
Then, taking advantage of the early weather, I went to Tiananmen Square again.

D6 (8.2): National Museum, Military Museum, Water Cube, Bird's Nest
There are countless treasures in the National Museum. If we really want to browse every exhibition hall and every treasure, we won't have enough time in a day. As we made an appointment for the Military Museum in advance, we hurriedly took a look around and rushed to the Military Museum in the afternoon.
Seeing airplanes, cannons, and rockets in the military museum is extremely exciting.
Entering the military museum and receiving the baptism of various national military weapons is the favorite of children's military enthusiasts, and they are extremely happy.
The historical evolution of various weapons such as pistols, airplanes, and arrow boats has greatly benefited people. It's still early to leave the military museum, so I quickly took the subway to the Bird's Nest and Water Cube to catch a glimpse of them after turning on the lights in the dark.
D7 (8.3): Mutianyu Great Wall
I heard that there were too many people in Badaling waiting in line for a long time, so we decisively chose to go to Mutianyu and only bought one to play on the Great Wall all day. In order to satisfy Big Smart's wish, we accompanied him to climb the 20th enemy building with an 80 degree slope. It was really a combination of hands and feet, giving it our all. Unfortunately, there is still no clear sky after the rain, and the captured Great Wall is not clear enough.
It's rare to see a scene without tourists, so I quickly took a few photos.

The rain has passed and the fog has not dissipated, making it not transparent
D8 (8.4): Temple of Heaven Park, Jingshan Park, Yuanmingyuan
The most beautiful scenic spot in Beijing is the Temple of Heaven Park, and both Zhang and Zhang are exquisite and unparalleled.
The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest, which was once a place where the emperor prayed for good weather, has undergone several renovations and is now a favorite attraction for tourists.
Then we arrived at Jingshan Park to make up for the regret of not being able to go due to the heavy rain that day.
Overlooking the entire Forbidden City, the imperial palace is truly magnificent
Yuanming Garden, with green mountains, green waters, and birds singing, the bamboo forest, pine and cypress trees have a joyful heart, stepping on a light boat and swaying in the river, the fish leaping over the dragon gate and lifting the waves, the happy blue waves rippling in the heart. Take a boat ferry to the center of the lake, take a panoramic view of the beautiful scenery, and enjoy happiness in your heart!
The Dashuifa site, with its ruins and broken walls, is infuriating to see all of this.
Coincidentally, the child who was about to attend the fifth grade study of Yuanmingyuan had a deep on-site experience.

D11 (8.7): Return
Three regrets:
I did not make an appointment to attend the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall or pay my respects to Chairman Mao;
I did not go to fun places such as Chengguo Zijian, Tiananmen Gate Tower, Natural History Museum, World Park, etc;
The weather is not good enough to take perfect photos of the Forbidden City and the Great Wall.
Travel experience:
1. All tourist attractions in Beijing must be booked in advance on WeChat, and must be booked before departure. Some must be booked 7 days in advance, while others must be booked 3 days in advance. Prepare a guide and follow the plan; There are detailed booking guides online
Most places with ID cards require verification of entry, and children under 1.2 meters in some scenic spots are exempt from admission;
The trip to the Great Wall can only be arranged for one day, and time is very tight. There are too many arrangements to come and play.
The tickets to all four scenic spots are relatively cheap, with expensive food and accommodation. Accommodation can be arranged in hotels closer to the subway station.
May the next one of you embark on a wonderful journey, carrying a happy backpack, taking comfortable steps, traversing countless rivers and mountains, and feeling refreshed both physically and mentally! Walk through the world, be happy all the way!
