Yuanmingyuan consists of Yuanmingyuan, Changchun Garden and Qichun Garden.

The Temple of Heaven was built in the 18th year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty (1420) and was rebuilt during the Qianlong and Guangxu periods of the Qing Dynasty. It was a place for emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties to sacrifice to the emperor and pray for a good harvest of the five grains. The Temple of Heaven is the general term for the two altars of Prayer Valley and Circular Mound. On the west side of the cypress forest of the Hall of Prayer for Good Years in Tiantan Park is a large clove forest in Beijing.
