Here are five great ways to change your horse and make it more fun for both of you. Through these methods, you will also improve the horse's brain and body.

1. Free work

Freelance work can "reconnect" the horse's brain by using natural horse behavior to establish a connection between the horse and the trainer. Once we stopped attaching ourselves to our horses with harnesses and lead ropes (or reins), things began to change.

In freelance work, we read horses 'body language to understand how they feel and what they want. Trust and friendship grow when Ma notices that humans "speak" in a new way that does not involve force.

Gestures, body postures, eye contact and expressions are used for communication. This means that we are using a physical language that Ma naturally understands. Add some click-and-click training for positive reinforcement, and maybe even some skill training to make the horse feel good about himself, and he will begin to show a new interest in humans.

2. Obstacle work

Various obstacle work, such as opening gates, crossing bridges, bypassing buckets or poles, or obstacles found on mountain trails, is great for horses. You don't need fancy or expensive cross-country courses. Bring a few buckets, poles or tarps to your arena; ride over some small jumps, or pass through a row of curved poles.

These simple exercises give your horse work to do, turning regular arena characters into something suddenly more meaningful to the horse. In addition, negotiating the physical requirements of obstacles helps the horse's fitness and agility and makes loopholes in training obvious.

3. Cavalleti's work

Cavalleti's work includes riding over poles and setting small jumps at different distances for all gaits. Patterns and goals vary, ranging from simple walking exercises to more difficult slow exercises. Poles need to be set at the right distance for various gaits and different purposes, so it's important to take some classes or go to the clinic to learn how to set them.

This work is fun for most horses and is strenuous exercise that can provide energy and enhancement to the horse's entire body. Riders need to learn to pay attention to rhythm, timing and rhythm.

4. Cross-country riding

This is obvious. Who doesn't like to go out on a trail? Horses and people benefit from nature's time-outs and walls. Unsmooth ground and crossing natural obstacles such as logs and water challenge horses both physically and mentally. And it doesn't have to be a dense mountain trail. Walking in the fields or woods makes it easier for everyone to breathe.

If you're not ready to go beyond the fence of the arena and change the scenery, such as dragging it to another arena, you can work wonders for the horse's attitude.

5. Arena practice

I once had a teacher who said,"If your horse is boring in the arena, you are not using your imagination well in training." Good training includes exercises and patterns that attract and challenge the horse's body and mind. Go beyond the endless 20-meter circle, or go straight around the exterior track of the arena. There are many exercise books, or seek guidance from people who use exercises in teaching.

Horses can experience boredom and burnout just like humans do. Good training is done by exploring new things about horses. Take the time to bring joy to your training by changing the intensity and type of work you do with horses.
