I heard that Gubei Water Town has been in existence for several years. This summer, I finally had the opportunity to visit this beautiful border town. If you think this is just a tourist town with historical, folk and cultural characteristics in the suburbs of Beijing, it's too simple. Tour the Great Wall by bicycle, starry sky tents, and colorful summer pool parties... This summer, come and unlock the latest ways of Gubei Water Town. Play, give a vacation another possibility!

Breakfast on a cruise ship to wake up a beautiful day with a sense of ceremony

On vacation, the only thing that makes me get up early in the morning is the call of delicious food.

The morning light is shining, and the boatman is rafting on Yuanyang Lake. The boatman is swinging and creating layers of ripples, sitting around with his family and friends to taste the morning tea of the Great Wall of Water.

The breakfast on board is also extremely rich, with Chinese pickled duck soup buns and Western-style bread and milk. This is the second time I have had breakfast on a cruise ship. It can be said that the taste and refinement are no less than those of Yechun Tea House in Yangzhou.

The breeze blows, and the waves shine brightly. As far as you can see, the sky and water are in the same color. The full sense of ritual awakened me, who was sleepy, at this moment. There were hardly anyone on the shore, but tourists who enjoyed breakfast like us were occasionally seen in the small courtyard of the B & B. Enjoy the beauty of the moment quietly, and endless happiness comes to your face.

After eating breakfast on the cruise ship, take a stroll in Gubei Water Town before a large number of tourists arrived. Walking on the faint stone road, as I expected, the cultures of the north and south blend here. Gubei Water Town was built on the basis of a small village at the foot of the Simatai Great Wall. It has both the simple atmosphere of a northern town and the gentle and affectionate nature of a southern water town.

Qingshiban Street has long alleys, and the water town is densely covered with rivers. Residential buildings are built along the water. When you turn around, you can see the scenery. The creeper is growing densely and wantonly. My friends said that Gubei Water Town will be more charming in autumn because all the leaves are red.

Walking into Yongshun Dyeing Factory, you will see the drying yard, with colorful floral fabrics hanging inside. Light and shadow scattered and the breeze floating, forming a graceful picture.

It inherits the traditional Chinese handmade printing and dyeing process. It seems simple but exudes artistic beauty.

In the Wind House, in addition to the kites of different sizes and shapes in the Kite Museum, you can also DIY a unique shape yourself.

Sima Xiaojiu wine is also unique. It is a famous winery in the town. There is a wine cellar in the winery and all the traditional equipment and tools used in ancient times to make wine.

If you don't go to the Great Wall, you are not heroes. How can you come to Gubei Water Town without going to the Simatai Great Wall?

When you come to Gubei Water Town, you must climb the Simatai Great Wall. This is the only section of the ancient Great Wall in Beijing that retains the original appearance of the Ming Great Wall. It is also the only Great Wall in China that is currently open for night tours. It happened that the Simatai Great Wall had a "Summer Stars" themed activity. Unfortunately, the Great Wall yoga teacher was not there in the morning, so we chose a more mysterious night tour.

From Gubei Water Town, you can take the cableway directly to the foot of the Simatai Great Wall, which takes an easy walk of ten minutes. There are far more tourists on the Great Wall in the evening than imagined. The city's summer lights are as bright as day. Without the participation of stars, it seems a little boring. Busy modern urbanites are more willing to find a slow pace of life!

The sky gradually darkened, with a crescent moon, stars, birds singing, cicadas singing, and mountains on the lake. Carrying a small lamp and strolling along the Great Wall, I am tired and sitting on the broken wall, breathing the pure air, leaning next to my husband, looking up at the stars, and feeling the vastness of the universe.

Every night at 8:20, the drone Kongming Lantern Show is held in Riyue Island Square in Gubei Water Town, and the Simatai Great Wall is one of the best viewing spots. Hundreds of drones rose into the sky one after another, creating a poetic dream, just like the little fairy in Disney holding a fairy stick and commanding countless shapes in the air.

At your feet are the majestic pride of the Simatai Great Wall, and in the distance is the tranquility and beauty of Gubei Water Town. On the Simatai Great Wall, overlooking the lights of the town, the bright yellow lights set off against the ancient city bricks, like a golden dragon.

What you want to stay in has characteristics:

This is my first time in Gubei Water Town, so I naturally have to choose a special hotel. The newly opened Huotang Hotel is located in the Orchid Valley of Gubei Water Town Scenic Area. It is surrounded by mountains and rivers, and it is quiet and natural. The natural environment of the valley and intimate and comfortable room facilities keep people away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

From the hotel lobby to the decoration of the room, it is full of strong Mongolian style. There is a round gauze curtain around the top of the bed, creating a romantic and mysterious atmosphere. The dense greenery outside the large floor-to-ceiling window spreads out in front of your eyes.

The bronze sink and the large copper bathtub look very fashionable in addition to being simple and heavy.

The huge circular patio and circular corridor seem to allow people to travel through the scene in "Big Fish Begonia", with the civil structure intertwined with light and shadow.

The Mucheng Hotel not far away has a different style. Both the exterior and interior reveal simplicity and simplicity. The geometric design with "blank space" and the minimalist atmosphere with beige white as the main color make it difficult for young people not to like it.

Large tracts of Gesang flowers surround Hangu Villa, and the newly launched starry sky tent this summer has a wild taste.

The area in the tent is not small, with mattresses, bedding, electric fans, mosquito repellent and other supplies. Imagine a quiet night, in the quiet and narrow orchid valley, with nature outside the curtain, looking up at the stars, and sleeping with the gurgling water, fish and insects singing birds, is also a luxury!

What you need to eat has a taste:

Gubei Water Town brings together the flavor of hometown from all over the world. In the streets and alleys of the town, you can see all kinds of specialty delicacies everywhere: such as Guguan Hotpot City, Tanghe Muslim Restaurant, Gubei Roast Duck King... Stroll through the food street and enjoy the world of delicious food.

The William Edgar Boutique Hotel, known as a foreigner by its name, is in memory of the American geographer William. Edgar Gale's protection and contribution to the Great Wall.

Not only is the Western food excellent here, but the dishes in the Chinese restaurant are also very authentic.

I tasted the delicious food mainly composed of Shandong cuisine at Wangjinglou Flavor. Although it was somewhat improved, it was really much more exquisite than our local Shandong cuisine.

The Cloud Cafe in the Hilltop Church can be said to be the best photography spot in Gubei Water Town.

Holding a cup of coffee in hand, listening to the wonderful voice of the choir under the silent starry sky, on the towering mountain peak, and in the mountaintop church, such a night is also a beautiful one to yearn for.
