Autumn is crisp and crisp, making it the most suitable for hiking in the mountains. Listening to social opera at the foot of the Great Wall, eating pig's trotters banquets, checking in on the Beijing-Hebei boundary monuments, overlooking the reservoir and the ancient Great Wall, and taking the Long March... doesn't it sound very yearning? It is recommended to take a weekend to visit two century-old ancient villages in Changping, Beijing,"Langeryu Village" and "Changyucheng Village" to experience different tours in the suburbs of Beijing!

A century-old village at the foot of the Great Wall that retains the tradition of singing social opera

Changyu City, which has been a border fortress and a military center since ancient times, is an independent century-old village at the foot of the Great Wall. The most special thing is that it still retains the "tradition of singing social opera" here. In addition to social opera, this is also a revolutionary village.

Changyu City was established as a village in the Ming Dynasty and has a history of five to six hundred years. There are complete barns, city walls, ancient houses and temples inside and outside the city. The city wall divides the village into two cities: old and new. The existence of the ancient city and ancient temples confirms Changyu City's long history. A big tree in the distance is very eye-catching. If you take a closer look, you will know that this is Yongxing Temple. The biggest feature of Yongxing Temple is that it is a temple with a stage.

In the evening, in the century-old village, drink scutellaria tea hand-collected by villagers on the mountains and eat an authentic pig's trotters feast. The meat of the pig's trotters is fat but not greasy. It melts immediately in the mouth. The stewing heat is excellent. It is paired with farmhouse braised pork, stewed chicken, cabbage and bean soak, and special delicacies such as shredded silk... There is a table full of delicious food, don't eat it too well!!

After night in Changyucheng Village, villagers who worked during the day gathered on the backyard stage of Yongxing Temple to beat drums and gongs, mix them with costumes, or cheer from the stage to jointly create an authentic social drama at the foot of the Great Wall. Changyu City has a history of singing social opera for nearly 600 years. Every year, social opera is performed in the village on the first month of the year and some traditional lunar festivals. Social opera evolved from Hebei Bangzi, but when it arrived in Changyu City, it became its own unique singing.

Mountain hiking is the most beautiful hiking path in western Beijing, and check in the Beijing-Hebei boundary monument

Living in the village, you can look up at night and see the stars in the sky. Early the next morning, we walked north from Changyucheng Village, followed the wooden plank road up the mountain, and experienced the most beautiful autumn on foot in the mountains.

First, the wooden plank road, followed by the gravel dirt road. The entire hike is about 8 kilometers. You can walk from departure to return to Changyucheng Village for about 4 hours. It is a relatively medium difficult mountain hike.

Because during the entire hiking process, you will walk on the wooden plank road, stroll in the white birch forest, and walk through forest paths. You can also check in the boundary markers between Beijing and Hebei on the way. In addition, you can also overlook the Great Wall Beacon Site. This has the highest altitude and oldest in Beijing. Yan Great Wall. The Beacon Tower is the site of the battle against the Japanese invaders. On the broken walls of the high-rise Beacon Tower, 108 bullet holes witnessed the tragedy of the Nankou Battle 80 years ago.

So the whole hiking process will not be boring and full of fun. There is also a fork road that leads to Huanghuapo. In July every year, tens of thousands of yellow flowers will bloom.
