Our motherland is vast in land, abundant in resources, and magnificent in mountains and rivers. If you ask what is most beautiful in early autumn, the photographer will tell you: Bashang is the most beautiful! This Bashang is the Ulan Butong Grassland in Inner Mongolia. At the end of September every year, thousands of photography enthusiasts gather here just to find the most beautiful light and shadow in autumn. Taking advantage of the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, a group of 10 of us participated in the 6-day photography activities organized by the Yangtze River Delta Photography Circle of the Autumn Drunken Beauty on Bashang Grassland and the Deep Crossing of the Jinshanling Great Wall. We encountered rainy weather two days ago on the way. Although we had some regrets, the charming scenery along the way still left a deep impression on us. Day 1: Shanghai-Beijing-Jinshanling Great Wall
At 07:48 on September 19, 2021, we took the G110 high-speed railway from Shanghai Hongqiao Station to Beijing South Railway Station and arrived at Beijing South Railway Station at 13:32 pm, starting a 6-day Bashang photography tour.
Coming out of Beijing South Railway Station, follow Teacher Cai Jiesheng, the leader of this collection activity, and walk to the designated boarding point. Boarding the "Tianjin AX0299" tourist bus, and in the next 5 days, the entire team of 30 people will ride the "Tianjin AX0299" tourist bus. Later, he took a tourist bus to the Jinshanling Great Wall, originally planned to take pictures of the sunset. At about 18:30, the car arrived at Jinshanling in Luanping County, Hebei Province. Due to time constraints, the sunset shooting was cancelled and adjusted to the sunrise shooting the next day. The local tour guide (Qiangzi) welcomed us at the Jinshanling Great Wall Scenic Area and had purchased tickets for us to the scenic area. Everyone must get off the bus and check their identity so that they can enter the scenic area tomorrow morning to take the sunrise.
In the square inside the Jinshanling Great Wall Scenic Area, an intangible cultural heritage "Iron Splash" was being staged. Everyone quickly went to the car to get their cameras and photographed this rare and spectacular scene. "Iron throwing" is to mix charcoal and raw iron in a small iron cage and hang it on the top of a 4-meter-high wooden pole with a rope. After ignition, five people rotate the wooden pole together. The charcoal burns and melts the raw iron. Under the action of centrifugal force, the molten iron is thrown out for tens of meters. Due to oxidation, a spectacular scene of "iron flowers and fire rain" appears in the air.
Watching the intangible cultural heritage "Iron Flowers" under the Jinshanling Great Wall, photographers shouted: It's so beautiful, so amazing! After shooting, check into a farmhouse near the scenic spot. The next day, Jinshanling Great Wall-Ulan Bunong Grassland
Get up at 4:30 in the morning, gather in the living room downstairs at 5:00, and take a self-drive from local villagers to the Jinshanling Great Wall. Due to the rain, half of the people chose not to go, because they could not capture the sunrise on rainy days. I think that since I have arrived at the foot of the Great Wall, no matter what the weather is, I should go to the Great Wall to have a look. After all, the Great Wall is the pride of the Chinese people!
The Jinshanling Great Wall is known as the "Great Wall in the National Anthem". It is located between the mountains of the Yanshan Mountains at the junction of Luanping County, Hebei Province and Beijing. This section of the Great Wall is the most well-preserved section of the Great Wall today and the most exquisite architectural art.
At 5 o'clock in the morning, braving heavy rain, I walked for more than 20 minutes, climbed the Great Wall and saw the style of the Great Wall, completing the feat of "not being a hero before the Great Wall"! The most beautiful section of the Great Wall is majestic!
After filming the Jinshanling Great Wall, I returned to the farmhouse for breakfast, and took the bus to the Ulan Butong Grassland at 8:30. On the way from Jinshanling to Ulan Butong, I was taken by a tour guide to No. 21 Northern Residential Museum, where I had my first lunch.
No. 21 Northern Residential Museum is located in Mulan Autumn Exhibition Hall, Weichang County, Chengde City, Hebei Province. It is a small attraction with a very lively atmosphere. The museum is not big. There are pubs, specialty stores, exhibition halls, and restaurant fruit stalls. Although it is small, it has everything. I stayed for two hours, and then rushed to the dam after lunch. I liked this ancient old house.
From Jinshanling to Ulan Butong, due to rainy days, tourist buses were prohibited from passing on the highway. The entire section was on the ground and the road was bumpy. It took nearly 9 hours to reach Ulan Butong.
In the evening, the hotel hosted a welcome banquet for us. The enthusiastic grassland girl presented us with a cup of horsemilk full of blessings. In a warm atmosphere, a three-day and three-night autumn in-depth photography and style collection activity on Bashang Grassland was launched.
Day 3, Ulan Butong Grassland (Wucai Mountain, Yangshubei, grassland pastoral village scenery, Huagulu Lake, Huagulu Mountain, Aobaotu)
Get up at 4:30 in the morning and leave on time at 5:00. Breakfast can only be served on the road. Breakfast is dry food given the next day. Before departure, the tour guide gave each person two hot steamed buns and an egg. Due to the rough roads, the transportation for the past two days was changed to red jeeps, one for six people, and we took car No. 125. In Bashang in early autumn, it was still quite cold in the morning, especially the two hands holding the camera, which hurt from the cold.
Wucai Mountain is located in Ulan Butong Township, Keshiketeng Banner, Chifeng, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is one of the main attractions for viewing the autumn scenery of the secondary forest in the Machang District. In the past few days, Bashang has encountered the most rainy day in years. The sky is gloomy in the morning and it still rains from time to time, making it hopeless to shoot the sunrise.
Every year from the beginning of September to early October, due to the effect of micro-frost, different tree species on the mountain show different colors due to their different cold resistance. The colorful mountains seem to be dressed in festive costumes, with pine green, oak red, apricot purple, birch, poplar yellow, etc. It is really "all mountains are red, and all layers of forest are dyed."
On the first day of photography on the Ulan Butong Grassland, I took a local off-road vehicle all the way. It rained. The tour guide called everyone to get on the bus quickly and drive to the next scenic spot behind poplar trees.
Along the way, the scenery outside the window is beautiful. In order to satisfy everyone's desire to shoot, the tour guide will selectively park the car. A group of sheep grazing in the grass on the roadside became our target.
The car stopped behind poplar trees, the rain also stopped, and everyone couldn't wait to walk into a white birch forest.
Yangshubei is a scenic spot in Ulan Butong Scenic Area. The mountains here are endless and the grasslands are endless. In fact, there are not many poplar trees in the area. The main tree species in the forest area are larch, Pinus sylvestris, white birch, spruce, etc. Wandering on the pastures and among the birch trees, fully enjoying the fresh air given to us by nature, it is really beautiful and eye-catching and a good ecological environment. It is said that this is an ideal place for photographers.
After filming the back of poplar trees, continue to drive to the next attraction.
Stop and photograph cattle grazing on the hillside along the road.
The jeep was driving on a rugged mountain road that was not originally part of the road. The road was muddy in continuous rain. There was no road. The road was pressed out by the jeep's wheels. The car followed two deep ruts and bumped all the way across the prairie. galloped across the grassland. Let you feel what real cross-country means, the bumps are so strong that your internal organs are about to burst out!
A jeep in front of us was stuck in the quagmire. The wheels slipped and couldn't get out. All the tourists got off the bus and finally drove out of the quagmire after repeated adjustments.
When we arrived at the grassland family, the herdsmen presented us snow-white hada, and the enthusiastic grassland girl presented us a cup of horsemilk full of blessings.
Then he went to the wild wolf base to shoot wolves and had the opportunity to have close contact with wolves.
Photography of beautiful women and wolves.
After filming the wolves, I returned to the grassland to shoot a group of life scenes of grassland people.
There is no deliberate arrangement, everything is casual, laughing and laughing. While many people were still waiting for the start, the performance was actually drawing to an end.
Get on the jeep and go to the next attraction: Huagulu Lake.
This is Huagulu Lake, like a small river that can be seen everywhere in the south of the Yangtze River. It can be seen that the water on the grassland is very precious.
A team of horses came to Huagulu Lake
The herdsmen's self-driving car is driving on this muddy mountain road, but ordinary people really dare not drive it.
The jeep bumped all the way and came to Huaguitai again.
The front line of Huagulutai was the main battlefield of the Kangxi War in Gerdan. The historical relics are now covered by vast grassland, leaving behind cattle and sheep all over the mountains and plains.
We climbed to the highest point and enjoyed the stunning grassland scenery.
Arriving at the last stop, Aobao,"Aobao" is a Mongolian transliteration, and "Duizi" means a pile made of wood, stone and earth. It originated in the Mongolian Plateau, but is not unique to the Mongolian Plateau. "Tut" is an almost circular mountain. Aobaotu is located in Yuanbao Mountain Village, Ulan Butong Sumu.
The terrain of Aobaotu Scenic Area is undulating, with scattered trees and relatively high terrain. In the evening, camel herds pass through here one after another, becoming a special landscape.
The terrain of Aobaotu is relatively high. In autumn, you can see a large golden white birch forest when taking autumn scenery. Find the right time, good light and shadow effects can create a large area. It is also great to find a special angle!
Watching camels trudging in the desert and taking pictures of sunset and sunset on the grassland, I spent an unforgettable day on the grassland during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Day 4: Ulan Butong Grassland (back mountain, Princess Lake, Panlong Canyon, horses riding on water, galloping horses)
Take a bus at 5 a.m. and go to the back mountain of Princess Lake, one of the sunrise shooting venues of the Ninth National Congress of Ulan Butong, to shoot the sunrise and morning fog.
Climbing up the small hill before dawn, the cold wind blows through your clothes and freezes your hands. In the early autumn season, you can taste the severe low temperature.
When the morning light begins, the grassland that has been frozen all night will slowly warm up. Water vapor will slowly rise here, forming a continuous advection fog. These fog shuttles between the mountains and the woods, making it unimaginable.
After filming the sunrise from the back mountain, I took a bus to Princess Lake. Princess Lake is located in the Ulan Butong Grassland in Keshiketeng Banner, Inner Mongolia. At the entrance of the attraction, there is a statue of Lan Zigge.
It is said that Lan Qige, the third princess of Emperor Kangxi, was forced to marry Gordan and passed through the Inner Mongolia grassland. She cried bitterly and turned into a lake. Such a small water area has become a must-see attraction for people when they come to Ulan Butong. This small lake is beautifully decorated with white birch, wild flowers, grassland, desert, and various shrubs on the bank, making it a favorite attraction of people.
Blue skies and white clouds, mountains and colorful forests, reflected in the clear lake water, make people feel refreshed and intoxicated.
After coming out of Princess Lake, take a bus to Panlong Canyon, a famous canyon on the Ulan Butong Grassland. A winding river flows all year round at the bottom of the valley, like a swimming dragon lying in the beautiful valley. This is the origin of the name of Panlong Canyon.
Panlong Canyon is a quiet place integrating grassland scenery, virgin forests, rivers and lakes, ravines and valleys. There is no hint of danger or surging appearance, but it shows a kind of primitive beauty and unique beauty.
Arrive at the performance site of Horse Tapping Water at 3:00 p.m., a full hour earlier than the start time of 4:00, in order to grab a good seat.
The current in this place is not too rapid, but the most important thing is the strong background. On the undulating hills, the trees growing in the golden autumn season will be golden. Coupled with the white water splashed by horses running, it is very beautiful.
Horses and horses flew by, splashing water. It was a strange picture of galloping beauty and power intertwined. The scene of horses running in the water with splashing water.
At 4:30 p.m., I transferred to the scene of filming "galloping horses" and saw a photography team on three floors inside and outside on the hillside (the first row was seated, the second row was tripods, and the third row was standing). It was hundreds of meters long and the number of viewers exceeded a thousand.
The herd of horses came from far and near, accompanied by the roar of running and dust, shining with golden light under the sunset. The scene was very shocking.
Among the running horses, there are also colts that are sucking milk.
The horses, chased by the horsemen, rushed down the hillside, much like a large group of cavalry rushing into the enemy line on the ancient battlefield. The scene was very spectacular.
At 18:10, the sun set and there was a serious traffic jam on the prairie...
Day 5: Ulan Bunong Grassland (Beigou, European and American Scenic Area, Hamaba, Mugui)
I rushed to Beigou at 5:30 in the morning to shoot the sunrise. Although I didn't encounter advection fog, the sunrise in Beigou was still refreshing and a good place for photography.
Beigou is a long ditch running from north to south. Because it is located on the north side of the original site of Hongshan Military Horse Farm in Ulan Butong, local people call it Beigou. The Beigou spans the north and south of the Military Horse Farm and stretches for more than ten kilometers.
At the other end of the wooden plank road is a European scenic area. The hillside is covered with white birch trees and the scenery is beautiful.
The yellowed pastures on the grassland are piled with haystacks prepared by herdsmen
This is the Bashang Grassland exterior shooting base, and many movies and TV series are filmed here every year.
In the afternoon, filming of Toad Dam and Mugui was arranged. Toad Dam is located in the scenic area of "Huazhugou National Forest Park". The lake water in Toad Dam meanders among the hilly canyons. On the grassland, the landform of "two mountains sandwiched in one ditch" is very unique and also provides a wider view., making this a paradise for photographers.
There are many hilly and mountainous areas here, with unique landforms, and colorful autumn scenery. The red leaves all over the mountains and plains blend with the bright yellow birch leaves to form a natural picture.
In fact, this attraction does not have many characteristics, so it is still okay to experience the scenery along the way on foot.
Returning at dusk is the focus of photography at Toad Dam. In the evening, the photography team waiting on the hillside is extremely spectacular.
Opposite the top of the mountain are white birch trees, the mountainside are irregular lawns, the foothills are beautiful old elms in twos and threes, and in the gaps between the trees are round or rectangular sheeppens and cattle pens surrounded by wooden fences. As dusk approaches, herdsmen return from grazing sheep. Hundreds of sheep enter the village paths, and they hear the sound of shutter clicks in unison.
On the sixth day, Bashang-Beijing-Shanghai checked out at 5:00 a.m. and returned to Beijing from Ulan Butong, Inner Mongolia. The rain kept falling all the way. Due to rainy days, tourist buses were prohibited on the highway, and the entire section was on the ground. It took a bumpy journey and it took nearly 9 hours to reach Beijing South Railway Station.
At 15:49 pm on September 24, we took the G151 high-speed railway from Beijing South Railway Station to Shanghai Hongqiao Station, and returned to Shanghai safely at 22:12 pm to end a 6-day tour.
