It's late autumn, and it's time to see maple leaves and ginkgo seasons. Unfortunately, autumn in the south is still so warm, so I plan to go to a place with maple leaves to feel the autumn feeling. After inquiring about the domestic maple appreciation holy places, Yuelu Mountain in Changsha is one of them. I thought of Grandpa Mao's "Qinyuan Spring·Changsha","Look at the mountains all red and the forests all dyed." Well, let's go in Changsha.

Day1 Pozi Street, Tianxin Pavilion, Dufujiang Pavilion

It is still very convenient from Shenzhen to Changsha. The high-speed train in the north of Shenzhen takes about 3 hours. We left at 9:30 a.m. on Friday (due to traffic jams during the rush hour, we almost missed the high-speed train) and arrived in Changsha at nearly 1 p.m. Accommodation was booked at Huaruihe Hotel in Hisense Plaza next to Juzizhou. The location is very good and it is convenient to go anywhere. Downstairs are Pozi Street and Taiping Street, opposite Juzizhou and Yuelu Mountain. The room with a river view facing the Xiangjiang River, if there are no buildings on both sides, the view should be better.

After settling down, I went downstairs to Hisense Square for a hot pot. I bravely tried Hunan's Yuanyang Pot. After taking a bite of the spicy food, I couldn't eat it anymore... This probably meant that there were no local high-scoring restaurants nearby. I don't have to try it, including the super Wenhe Friends with 4 floors downstairs of the hotel. Next to the hot pot, there is a tea Yanyue. It is a very popular chain milk tea shop in Changsha. There are branches all over the street. In Changsha, I have basically had a cup every day for the past few days. I think that the Youlan latte is the best to drink, half sugar, otherwise it will be too sweet.

After dinner, I started to stroll around the area and first went to Pozi Street. Pozi Street is a very famous food street in Changsha. It is said to have a history of 1200 years and has many snacks and is very lively.

Cross Pozi Street and walk to Tianxin Pavilion. Tianxin Pavilion is a three-story tower in the ancient city of Changsha. It was built in the late Ming Dynasty and rebuilt during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. It was destroyed by Wenxi fire during the Anti-Japanese War. The Tianxin Pavilion currently seen was rebuilt in 1983. Because it was close to closing time, I didn't go up. Tianxin Pavilion In Tianxin Park, there are two particularly beautiful ginkgo trees in the park. The leaves are all yellow. This is the feel of autumn.

The ancient city wall under Tianxin Pavilion was built in the Western Han Dynasty. It was originally very long, but only the section (more than 200 meters) in front of Tianxin Pavilion is preserved at present. During the Taiping Rebellion, King Xiao Chaogui of the West led his army to attack Changsha from here. Some gunholes are still left on the city wall.

After coming out of Tianxin Pavilion, the sun was almost setting, and we rushed to Dufujiang Pavilion. The Dufujiang Pavilion on the Xiangjiang River is an antique garden building built in memory of Du Fu, a poet of the Tang Dynasty. It faces Juzizhou and Yuelu Mountain across the river and is less than a thousand meters away from Tianxin Pavilion. Watching the sunset set in the west in Dufujiang Pavilion is also a peaceful scenery.

Day2 Yuelu Mountain, Juzizhou, Taiping Street

We set off to Yuelu Mountain in the morning to see maple leaves. The hotel is 4 subway stations away from Yuelu Mountain, from Xiangjiang Middle Road Station to Hunan University Station, and then walking distance. There are still many tourists in Yuelu Mountain, and the subway has to queue up to leave the station. We went in and out from the south gate. It is said that the route from the east gate to the south gate is also good, and there is also a cable car at the east gate. The best place to admire maple leaves is Aiwan Pavilion, and the best place to see ginkgo is Yunlu Palace.

Appreciating maple leaves is the focus of this trip, but most of the maple leaves in Changsha are not completely red in mid-to-late November, and several red trees attract many tourists. There are many ancient trees in Yuelu Mountain, all of which have been protected. Each tree has a sign stating information such as species, age and adopter.

The ginkgo trees at the entrance of Yunlu Palace are yellow, but they should not be at their best yet.

Coming out of Yuelu Mountain and passing through the Food Street of Hunan University, the entrance of every snack bar is full of people. I found the shop with the longest queue of handsome men to try it. The cakes were okay, but unfortunately there were no handsome men to watch them. I also ate Changsha stinky tofu, which was spicy and salty, but the stench was not bad.

Eat your fill and continue to stroll around Orange Island next to you. Juzizhou is between Yuelu Mountain and the hotel. It is only 2 stops back from Hunan University Subway Station. The area of Juzizhou is larger than expected. It takes more than 40 minutes to walk from the Juzizhou subway station to the statue of Chairman Mao, so I chose a sightseeing bus. After buying a ticket, when I went around to the back platform to take the bus, I found that the queuing time was probably longer than the walking time. The scenery on Juzi Island is good, and all kinds of greening are planned neatly. There are really many orange trees in Orange Island, maple leaves are red, bamboo forests, etc. If you're not in a hurry, it's good to take a slow walk inside. N years ago, when I went to the ancient city of Fenghuang, I passed by Changsha and saw the statue of Chairman Mao at the head of Juzizhou from afar. This time, I paid a close visit. The statue looks majestic up close and is vividly carved. Orange Island is still worth a visit to the island.

Juzizhou came out and drank a cup of books and roasted herbs to replenish his strength. He crossed the Xiangjiang River from the Wuyi Bridge and walked directly back to the hotel. Pass by Taiping Street, which is the most complete street with the original street pattern preserved in the ancient city of Changsha. The whole street is not long, with snacks on both sides. Mashi Road is still very contemporary.

After Taiping Street, we stopped by to visit the night view of Pozi Street. The Huo Palace in Pozi Street is still very local. It has a more atmosphere at night than during the day, with folk performances such as flower drum opera. This time, we are in time for the Sweet Potato Food Festival. The hot and sour noodles cooked by the chefs on site are surprisingly delicious, and there are free tries every day. I also ate sugar-oil cake. Next time I have the opportunity, I can try other snacks.

The day ended successfully with an exercise of 20 kilometers and nearly 30,000 steps.

Day3 Hunan Province Museum

The Hunan Province Museum is one of the first batch of national-level museums that is open for free. The main exhibition is the Mawangdui Han Tomb.

When visiting museums, you still need to rent a guide device or make an appointment for a guide service to better experience the interesting aspects of history. Changsha's attractions, such as Yuelu Mountain and museums, all have voice intelligent guides, and Baidu app can explain them at a fixed point. We booked a group explanation service on Ctrip this time and explained for an hour, which was quite good. Especially for the first scheduled event that opens at 9 o'clock, we use the group reservation channel, and there is basically no need to queue to enter the museum.

The three Han tombs in Mawangdui, Changsha, excavated in the 1970s were one of the most important archaeological discoveries of the 20th century. More than 3,000 precious cultural relics and a well-preserved female corpse were unearthed in the tomb. The three tombs are the tombs of Li Cang, Prime Minister of Changsha State in the early Western Han Dynasty, and his wives Xin Zhui and Er Lixi. Among them, Mrs. Xin Zhui's tomb No. 1 is well preserved. The tomb is placed in a deep pit nearly 20 meters deep from the ground. The coffin has four layers and is very well preserved. It is said that when the archaeologists first entered, there were lotus root slices in the container. More than two thousand years ago, but it slowly disappeared when encountering air during the inspection process. It feels amazing. There is a 3D display area in the museum, which restores the appearance of the tomb chamber and is very spectacular. The accompanying collection has everything, including lacquerware, silk fabrics, a large number of animal specimens, bamboo slips, pottery, wood figurines, and food. Key exhibits include plain gauze clothes, T-shaped silk paintings, black painted coffins, etc., which are worth visiting.

The weekend tour in Changsha ended with Sanbu Beef Brisket and Tea Beauty. The autumn experience is over and we are waiting for the arrival of winter.
