As a native of Hunan, Xiaomi is no stranger to Changsha, the provincial capital. I have been to Changsha many times before and after, but all the famous attractions to visit and the special snacks to eat have declined. But after thinking about it carefully, I have never enjoyed the night view of Changsha.
At the end of October, I flew from Changsha to Taiyuan, with a 6-hour connecting flight time (16:30 to 10:30), which was just in time to have a good look at the night in Changsha in the city.
In addition to the bright and charming night view, the travel night tour route designed by Xiaomi this time has several characteristics:
1. The route includes the busiest and bustling neighborhoods in Changsha, as well as the famous Juzizhoutou, which are must-check places for tourists in Changsha. If this is your first time in Changsha, this route is also suitable for you.
2. The route includes several Changsha food gathering places, where you can taste authentic food. Remember to stay when you eat food!
3. The entire scenic spots are relatively close, within walking distance, and the tour time is 4-6 hours. You can quickly appreciate the city style of Changsha, which is very suitable for friends who come to transfer.
4. There are no fee-paying attractions on the route, and the price of street snacks is relatively low. You can eat it at 50 yuan per person. Poor travel parties can also refer to this route.
Taiping Street is the street with the most complete original street pattern in Changsha. Cultural monuments such as Jia Yi's former residence, Changhuai Well, the former site of the West Pailou of Mingji Fan Palace, the former site of the 1911 Revolution Progressive Conference, and the former site of Sizheng Society are all located on this street.
Different from Taiping Old Street that Xiaomi visited a few years ago, this street has now transformed into a food street, 80% of which are selling food, many of which are emerging brands, with various decoration styles, including retro, fresh, and cute ones... Whatever you choose.
Wenheli, hidden on the third floor of Taiping Street Food City, is created by Changsha catering brand Wenheyou. It specializes in tasting various Changsha specialty snacks in one stop.
Ancient buildings, red lanterns, bluestone floors, old signboards and other elements make its interior decoration exude a strong nostalgic style and Changsha local characteristics.
[Hu Ji Zhazha Zhazha] is an authentic old fried skewer shop in Changsha. It is hidden in the alley of Taiping Street and is worth queuing up to try it.
It is worth mentioning that Taiping Street has one of the most "smelly" museums in the country-Wenheyou Stinky Tofu Museum. It introduces the making process of Changsha Stinky Tofu. You can taste Wenheyou Stinky Tofu, and you can also buy various small surrounding gifts designed with the theme of "Stinky Tofu".
There is a Taipingli near the street corner of Wuyi Road, which is a very fashionable leisure space in Changsha. It contains Taiping Old Street Weighing Store (rated as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Changsha City), Qianjin Art Museum, Lovelorn Museum, handicraft shop, daily food shop, coffee shop, etc.
Pozi Street, which has a history of 1500 years, is in the center of Changsha City. This street has been prosperous commercially since ancient times, but it was destroyed in the Wenxi Fire in 1938.
[Wenxi Fire] At that time, during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Kuomintang government decided to burn all public and private buildings in Changsha City and all materials not to be transported away before abandoning the garrison in order to prevent military supplies from being obtained by the Japanese army.
In 2005, Pozi Street emerged with a new look and became a gourmet gathering place in Changsha. I still remember the scene of Xiaomi eating stinky tofu here a few years ago.
This time, Xiaomi found that there were basically no small stalls on the street, and they had all become small shops or settled in the food city. You can easily find Hunan specialty snacks on the street: stinky tofu, sugar-oil cake, lard mixed flour, rice noodles, flavored shrimp, etc.
Changsha's most famous restaurant, Huo Palace, is on this street. In fact, basically all those who go to the Huo Palace to eat are foreigners. Although Xiaomi does not recommend eating in Huo Palace, Xiaomi recommends going to Huo Palace for a walk. There are often Hunan opera performances at night, which is very lively.
Huangxing Pedestrian Street, which is adjacent to Pozi Street, is an old commercial center in Changsha and the one with the least changes among these streets. On second thought, what could the commercial street become, haha ~
The commercial streets in the city are all similar, but the most eye-catching thing is the towering modern building diagonally opposite. That is the "newly built" IFC in 2017. Its full name is Changsha International Financial Center and is known as the "tallest building" in Hunan. There are shopping malls, office buildings and five-star hotels.
Jiefang West Road at the north end is also known as the "Bar Street". At the south gate at the south end, there is Changjun Middle School, the most famous middle school in Changsha. It is a famous key middle school in Changsha. However, for Xiaomi, the snacks in the alleys near the middle school are even more irresistible. You can just enter a small shop and it will be authentic!
PS: The environment is very "market-oriented", so choose carefully if you care about the dining environment.
"In the cold autumn of independence, the Xiangjiang River heads north and Juzizhou heads. Look at the mountains all red and the forests all dyed; the rivers are full of green, and hundreds of boats compete for the current."
Juzizhou is the largest sandbank among the many alluvial sandbanks in the lower reaches of the Xiangjiang River. It is also the largest inland continent in the world and is known as "China's No. 1 continent". Because of Chairman Mao's song "Spring Snow in Qinyuan", the Xiangjiang Middle Road Scenic Belt along the river is the best place to enjoy the scenery of Juzizhou and a must-check-in place when visiting Changsha.
There are street singers singing here in the evening. It's very comfortable to come here to relieve digestion and listen to the song if you have enough food and drink ~
PS: If you are lucky enough to encounter Juzizhou Fireworks Day, the best location to watch is here. The specific location is to walk south to near Dufujiang Pavilion after exiting Xiangjiang Middle Road Subway Station.
The Juzizhou Bridge, which spans Juzizhou, connects Yuelu District and Furong District in Changsha. I couldn't meet the fireworks scene of Juzizhou, so it would be good to go for a walk on the Juzizhou Bridge, which is about 1.5 kilometers one way. The lights on both sides of the river are brilliant and reflected on the Xiangjiang River, as bright as a galaxy.
PS: I didn't bring a camera for this trip. All the photos in this article were taken by Huawei's P20 mobile phone.
1. Sugar and oil cake, stinky tofu, lard mixed flour, rice noodles, and flavored shrimp are the most representative Changsha delicacies. You can find them on the above-mentioned Taiping Street, Pozi Street, and Nanmenkou.
2. There are too many delicious Hunan dishes. Chili stir-fried pork is a classic. Bacon and chopped pepper fish head are also preferred by millet. Friends who can't eat spicy food can choose to order taro ribs and steamed braised pork.
3. Tea Beauty is a unique beverage shop in Changsha and an Internet celebrity brand. Its taste and service are remarkable. It is basically a 0 negative review in the circle of friends and a 5 star recommendation!
Many wanderers, like Xiaomi, the first thing they do when they go to Changsha to put down their luggage is to find a tea shop and order a cup of seasonal drinks! Haha, I have a hunch that it will become the "new pride of Changsha"!
PS: Tea and beautiful colors are densely distributed on the streets of Changsha, especially in popular business districts, such as Taiping Old Street, which is located every hundreds of meters. Changsha Airport also has pleasant tea. Friends who are transferring can have a drink at the airport shop!
1. The airport bus ride near the train station is at the entrance of Shanshui Fashion Hotel (formerly the Civil Aviation Hotel). The latest departure time is 22:30 and the price is 18 yuan. You can also take a taxi nearby for 20 yuan.
2. Shanshui Fashion Hotel (originally a civil aviation hotel) can store luggage, and non-hotel users charge 15 yuan.
3. There is a maglev train that runs directly to the airport at the high-speed railway station. The latest train number seems to be 22 o'clock.
