In the summer of the third year of the Tang Dynasty (768 AD), Du Fu failed to make friends and arrived in Changsha. His life fell into trouble. He lived on a boat in the Xiangjiang River, and later moved to the Xiangjiang River. He called himself Jiangge. Du Fu lived in Changsha for more than two years.

Tianxin Pavilion is located on the ancient city wall at the intersection of Chengnan Road and Tianxin Road. The time of Tianxin Pavilion's construction is unknown. Tianxin Pavilion was rebuilt during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. During the Anti-Japanese War, it was destroyed by Wenxi fire. Tianxin Pavilion was rebuilt on the original site in 1983. Tianxin Pavilion has three floors, and the attic has the style of the Ming and Qing Dynasties towers, with a construction area of about 846 square meters.

Due to its high terrain, Tianxin Pavilion was a dangerous place for attack and defense, and was a must-hold place for military strategists. In 1938, the "Wenxi Fire" left Changsha scorched soil, and the Tianxin Pavilion Tower was completely destroyed, leaving only the solid ancient city wall of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

Yuelu Academy

After the summer vacation in 2014, we will visit Yuelu Academy, the first of the four major academies in the Song Dynasty. Yuelu Academy is located in Hunan University at the foot of Yuelu Mountain. The ticket price for Yuelu Academy is 50 yuan.

Yuelu Academy is the first of the four major academies in the Song Dynasty and is also the best preserved ancient academy in China. In the ninth year of Kaibao of the Northern Song Dynasty (976 AD), Zhu Dong, the prefect of Tanzhou, officially founded the Yuelu Academy on the basis of running schools by monks. Later, it went through the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, and until the twenty-ninth year of Guangxu in the late Qing Dynasty (1903 AD) It was changed into Hunan Higher Education College, and then successively changed into Hunan Normal School and Hunan Industrial Specialized School. In 1926, it was officially named Hunan University. After thousands of years, it has been sung endlessly, so it is called the "Millennium Academy."

The Yuelu Academy covers an area of 21000 square meters. Most of the existing buildings are relics of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The main buildings include the gate, the second gate, the lecture hall, the semi-learning studio, the teaching studio, the Baiquan Pavilion, the Imperial Book Tower, the Xiangshui School Jingtang, the Confucian Temple, etc., all parts are connected to each other, completely showing the magnificent scene of ancient Chinese architecture. In addition to architectural cultural relics, Yuelu Academy is also famous for its preservation of a large number of steles and plaques, such as the "Lushan Temple Stele" carved in the Tang Dynasty, the stone tablet workshop of the "Yuelu Academy" handwritten by Emperor Zhenzong of Song Dynasty, the "Chengzi Sizhen Stele", the Qing Dynasty imperial plaque "Learning to achieve the nature of heaven","Daonan Zhengmai", Zhu Xi's "Loyalty, Filial and Integrity Monument" carved in the Qing Dynasty, Ouyang Zhenghuan's "Tightly and Serious Monument", Wang Wenqing's "Yuelu Academy Learning Rules Monument", etc.

Aiwan Pavilion is located in Qingfeng Gorge at the foot of Yuelu Mountain in Changsha. The pavilion sits west to east and is surrounded by mountains on three sides. Aiwan Pavilion was built in the 57th year of Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty (1792). It was founded by Luo Dian, president of Yuelu Academy. It was formerly known as Hongye Pavilion. Later, it was owned by Bi Yuan, governor of Huguang. According to the poem of Du Mu, a poet of the Tang Dynasty,"Walking on the Mountain","Far up the cold mountains and rocks are sloping, and there are people where the white clouds are born. Parking and sitting in the Maple Forest at night, the frost leaves are redder than the February flowers.", Renamed Aiwan Pavilion, it is called China's four famous pavilions together with the Zuiweng Pavilion in Chuzhou, Anhui Province (built in 1046), the Lake Center Pavilion in West Lake in Hangzhou (built in 1552), and the Taoran Pavilion in Taoranting Park in Beijing (built in 1695).

Yuelu Mountain is located on the west bank of the Xiangjiang River in Changsha City, Hunan Province. It is one of the 72 peaks of Hengshan Mountain in Nanyue. It gets its name because the "Nanyue Ji" of Liu Song Dynasty in the Northern and Southern Dynasties contained: "Eight hundred miles around Nanyue, Hui Yan is the leader, and Yuelu is the foot."

Yuelu Mountain Scenic Area is built along the Xiangjiang River and covers an area of 35.20 square kilometers. It includes eight major scenic spots, including Lushan Scenic Area, Tianma Mountain Scenic Area, Juzizhou Scenic Area, Taohualing Scenic Area, Shijialing Scenic Area, Zhaiziling Scenic Area, Houhu Scenic Area, and Xianjia Lake Scenic Area.

Hunan University is located at the foot of Yuelu Mountain. It is a famous university without walls in China. One of the largest representatives, Li Da, was the first president of Hunan University after liberation. The name "Hunan University" was named by Chairman Mao Zedong.

Construction of the statue of the chairman of Dongfanghong Square of Hunan University began in mid-May 1967 and was officially completed and unveiled on May 16, 1968. Dongfanghong Square of Hunan University was built at the same time as the statue of Chairman Mao standing in the center of the square. Dongfanghong Square was designed by experts and professors from the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture of Hunan University. It has a reasonable layout and a broad vision.

The total height of the statue of Chairman Mao is 12.26 meters, of which the statue is 7.1 meters tall and the base is 5.16 meters high, which means to commemorate the birthday of Chairman Mao and the birthday of the Communist Party of China. The shape of the statue adopts a "hand-on" shape, and the chairman's photos in Beidaihe are selected as the image reference of the statue. The chairman was wearing a windbreaker, and the breeze blew the clothes of his clothes gently. The chairman put his hands behind his back and stared affectionately at the land he was familiar with when he was young. It had the artistic conception of "independent cold autumn" and "recalling the past's extraordinary years".
