On January 19, 2020, I embarked on a trip to Chongqing from Shenyang. Before departure, I never expected that this journey would be completely interrupted due to special circumstances. I am writing this article to document this experience. My friends used to say that you love traveling so much, why don't you write some travelogues? I always feel that writing travelogues is a burden and won't let me be carefree on the road. So I am passionate about travel guides, but I only operate them on my own and tell my friends around me when to buy a hotel or a plane ticket. I have never thought of recording it. However, this special situation suddenly made me want to record my travel experience, because I found that as time goes by, even the most memorable memories of the journey will gradually fade away, forgetting the excitement of setting off and the adventures along the way. So I also want to start writing about my experiences on the journey, and when my daughter gets older, she will know that she and her parents have been to these beautiful cities.
To get back to the point, due to some family matters this year, we plan to go to Chengdu for the Chinese New Year. We will first travel from Shenyang to Chongqing, then to Chengdu, and then return to Shenyang after the New Year. We have booked a flight at 11:50 noon on the 19th, and because we are taking our parents and children with us, we have chosen flights that I think have better timings. But since 9am, Air China has been sending me messages saying that the plane may be delayed, and due to heavy fog at the stops, the plane was delayed until 5:30pm before departing. Fortunately, Air China has provided in-flight meals and has never been delayed before. Is this really a special experience? ha-ha. It's already 23:00 when I arrived at Chongqing Jiangbei Airport, and I feel completely exhausted. Contacted the previously booked driver. Take your parents and daughter from the airport to the hotel,
Chongqing is truly a city that never sleeps, with the hot and spicy aroma of hotpot permeating the air. Every one showcases the fiery enthusiasm of this city. The hotel we booked this time is Chongqing Changjiang Shengjie SOMESEERT Hotel. The hotel manager thoughtfully upgraded it from the original executive 2-bedroom suite to a deluxe 2-bedroom executive suite, which is super spacious. Two bedrooms are each equipped with two bathrooms, as well as a separate dressing room. What's even more surprising is that there is also a separate laundry room for placing washing machines and hanging clothes. Both the bedroom and living room have views of the river. Very beautiful
. I ordered it when there was a discount. The price of 700+per night, including 4 breakfasts, is simply a great value. The breakfast restaurant is a collaboration with Opron Garden Restaurant. Recently, I watched the TV drama "Rebirth" and was surprised to find that Zhao Jinmai's favorite bread in "Rebirth" was actually from this restaurant. His bread is really delicious. But what I highly recommend is his croissant, and you can also ask the chef to fry a Chicken rolls for you, which is very exquisite. I always have a little obsession with the breakfast when I go out. I think the hotel must have breakfast, and then I can go out to play carefree after eating. Otherwise, I would be a big head if I took my parents and children to look for food in the morning. After entering the hotel, the child was extremely excited. After sleeping on the plane, she arranged beds for both her little and big princesses and finally fell asleep at 2 o'clock in the morning. I'm worried that I might have to sleep for the next day? The fact proves that I overthink and nothing can stop the child's determination to come out and play. Get up at exactly 7 o'clock the next day..
For tourism, I actually feel that the target audience is different, and personal requirements and feelings are also different. If my partner and I go out alone, I would choose to stay in a regular hotel or even a homestay, go out to eat various snacks, and then arrange everything outside. We need to visit and explore various scenic spots. However, if we bring our parents and children, due to different physical strength, mentality, and requirements, it means living in a different environment for a few days, experiencing the local people's living atmosphere, not just going to a few scenic spots or playing for a long time, but just experiencing a transformation in our hearts and roles. So my requirements for hotel comfort will increase, because I can go back and rest anytime when I'm tired. You can even choose to play in the hotel.
Yuzhong in Chongqing is divided into upper half city and lower half city. Those who come to Chongqing for the first time will choose to live near Monument to the people's Liberation in the upper half city. Because the surrounding area is lively and close to the subway, travel is very convenient. But there are pros and cons. Due to the lively atmosphere in the upper half of the city, the noise may be slightly louder at night. Since discovering the magical elevator of the Arc de Triomphe, my intended destination has directly shifted to the lower half of the city. If you check in, you will find that with this elevator, the distance between the upper and lower parts of the city is really not much, and you can have more and better choices at the same price in the lower part of the city.
Day 1: Triumphal Arch Elevator - Zhongshuge - Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts (Huangjueping) - Traffic Teahouse - Hotel Rest - Monument to the people's Liberation - Hongya Cave
Although the Triumphal Arch elevator is one of Chongqing's attractions, it is indeed just a means of transportation. Please bring your own 1 yuan change. We took the Triumphal Arch elevator to Jiaochangkou subway station and then took the subway to Zhongshuge, a particularly delicious bookstore. Truly a popular check-in spot for internet celebrities. It is worth recommending the book burning fairy grass downstairs from Zhongshuge Shopping Mall. It's absolutely delicious, with half a cup full of ingredients,
Now that I think about it, my mouth is still watering. This is so delicious. Then we chose to take the bus to the Huangjueping campus of Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts. The reason for choosing the bus was that it was a starting station nearby, with not many people, everyone had a seat, and we could see the scenery on the street. When approaching Huangjueping, one can see various types of houses. Actually, I personally think that every university has its own unique style, and it's worth visiting whenever you have time. Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts fully embodies the imagination and painting skills of art students. Huangjueping is an old campus. Chuanmei has a new campus before going to Chongqing. Many strategies compare these two campuses, and my suggestion is that if you have time, it's best to experience both campuses, as they give people different feelings. There is a very distinctive graffiti street around this campus, traffic tea houses, and the famous Huji Hoof Soup. It's definitely worth taking a stroll around. But at the same time, it also consumes a lot of physical energy. After visiting Sichuan United States, we chose to go back to the hotel to rest.
I regained my strength at night. A family set off to Baixiang Street behind the hotel to eat Zhen Sanguan hotpot. Yes, right behind the hotel is Baixiang Street, with the famous Yangji Restaurant and Zhensanguan Hot Pot, which is just too convenient. Here I would like to add that the golden needle mushrooms in the south are different from those in the north~they are yellow in color. At first, I thought it was improper storage? Why is it yellow? Everything I eat in Northeast China is white.
Verified with the waiter. He told me that this taste is better~it's normal, not stored improperly, haha. I am too ignorant, but the taste is indeed very good. If you also include Zhensanguan as one of your eating plans, then I would recommend to you the Liu Lang Lao Rou that left the deepest impression on me. It is thick and large, and needs to be cooked for 30 minutes, but it is really worth looking forward to. One bite is so thick and satisfying, haha. After eating hot pot, we decided to visit Monument to the people's Liberation and Hongya Cave at night. Monument to the people's Liberation is a business circle. The advantage of coming during the Spring Festival is that the planning for the city's New Year has already begun, and the trees and roadside decorations are full of joy. Filled with red lanterns, waiting in various colors. A strong festive atmosphere cannot be seen at ordinary times.
From Monument to the people's Liberation, you can reach the roof of Hongya Cave. This magical city is really magical, because what you think of as the first floor could be another rooftop. Hongya Cave is well-known for Spirited Away, and the Hongya Cave at night is really beautiful.
Day 2: Liziba - Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts - Ciqikou - Liangjiang Night Tour
After breakfast, you can take Metro Line 1 directly to Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts. Now the subway in Chongqing can choose to pay directly with the Alipay QR code, without carrying cash, and will automatically deduct money according to the distance. It takes 1 hour and 20 stops by subway to reach Huxi Campus. The art academy in Huxi is very large. We wandered here for half a day. I saw the famous colorful mosaic wall
And colorful terraced fields. Today is Tuesday and I was planning to go to the art museum, but for some reason, the Luo Zhongli Art Museum didn't open. There is a slight regret. The feeling that Huxi Campus gives me is completely different from Huangjueping Campus. Here, for the first time in my life, I saw a statue walking upside down, with a particularly fragrant yellow plum blossom
There is also a poetic and picturesque little pavilion. Very worth checking in. Afterwards, I took the subway to Ciqikou.
The inside of the magnet mouth is simply a sea of people. My mother and I bought Chen Fried Dough Twists's Kung Fu at the entrance of Ciqikou. The child and father disappeared, which made us very anxious. We couldn't get through the phone, which made me very anxious. After getting in touch, I immediately lost the urge to squeeze into the crowd. I was late for the recommended Xiao Pao crispy pork on the street outside. The taste is okay, not as stunning as rumored. The little guy who bought squid next to me, on the other hand, has a series of witty remarks that are quite interesting. Another thing worth mentioning is that I saw a plant on the roadside in Chongqing, which looks like flowers and grows in patches. It's very beautiful, I'm too ignorant, just search online. This plant is called kale and is said to be edible
.
We chose to go on a night tour of Liangjiang in the evening. The price of night tours in Liangjiang varies depending on the purchasing channels. Different ship types and purchasing channels. I suggest everyone to inquire more when they have time. We chose the Man Jianghong cruise ship. The ship is very new and stable. In fact, the night tours of the two rivers in different places are quite similar. It's a pity not to go, but going is actually quite similar. But it's also possible to sit on the boat and drink tea at night, enjoy the night breeze, and feel the emotions of life.
Day 3: Erling Park - Erling Second Factory
Today, due to special circumstances, I started to feel a bit uneasy and had the idea of going back. Today I only went once to the less crowded Goose Ridge Park and the nearby Goose Ridge Second Factory. There are very few people in the park and the second factory. Goose Ridge Park is not as famous as a tree in Nanshan, but it is still great to enjoy the panoramic view of Chongqing from the Shenglou Tower. Standing on the highest floor of the pavilion, overlooking the two rivers, the scenery of Nan'an District, Yuzhong District, and Jiangbei District is all breathtaking. Such a good park is free of charge. The park has a variety of tree lined paths, pavilions, and towers, making it a great place for fresh air and relaxation.
The manager of the Chengdu hotel contacted me on WeChat in the evening and asked if my itinerary was continuing. I hesitated, although I really wanted to continue the journey, I was also very worried. After much hesitation, I cancelled my high-speed train ticket to Chengdu and my plane ticket back to Shenyang, taking my parents and children with me. My husband is not with me yet. I really dare not take risks. I didn't sleep well all night. After careful consideration, I have decided to stay in the hotel for two more nights. Considering that there are fewer people on the first day of the Lunar New Year, I can try to avoid crowds as much as possible. Therefore, I booked a flight from Chongqing to Shenyang on the first day. The fact proves that our choice was correct. The airport on the first day of the Lunar New Year was really crowded, and although I didn't go to Chengdu to see giant pandas, my daughter was a little unhappy. However, in this situation, safety is still the most important thing. I hope to have the opportunity to come back to this passionate city again next time. The first time writing a travelogue. Write wherever you think of it. If you are interested in a specific scenic spot, you can also leave me a message, and when you have time, you will write more specifically about a single scenic spot. Body and soul, there must always be one on the road. I also hope to take my family to see the vast world and experience different things every year during my holidays~~
