A Miao Song by JiaoAyi
Eternal Miao charm and lingering emotions
If you don't sing mountain songs, you won't be happy, Jiao Ayi
The Pengshui Miao folk song "Jiao Ayi" has a natural and unrestrained melody, reflecting the enthusiasm and simplicity of the Miao children. Jiao Ayi means "beautiful girl", and the popular song "Jiao Ayi" is one of the classic representative pieces of Pengshui Miao folk songs. The Miao folk songs in Pengshui are especially famous in Anzi Town, where Jiao Ayi is the essence of the national intangible cultural heritage "Anzi folk songs".
It is unknown when the Pengshui folk songs, including 'Jiao Ayi', originated, but during the Tang and Song dynasties, folk songs here flourished and became popular. The Tang Dynasty poet Xu Tang wrote in his "Letter to Li Xiaoshu in Qiannan": "The common people sang the song of Shangba. During his time in Pengshui, the poet Huang Tingjian of the Northern Song Dynasty praised the local "good listeners" who were able to improvise and "test sing" their own created words and phrases. There are also many descriptions of Pengshui folk songs in Huang Tingjian's poetry. For example, "Song stops, bottle board dance stops, Luan stops", "Man Ge goes to pay... Fragrant Ningwu tent", "Mowei Mountain scenery intoxicated this morning... Bamboo branch song is to think of rumors", and so on.
As an excellent folk art and national intangible cultural heritage in Bayu, "Jiao Ayi" has emerged from ancient times, witnessing the distant and brilliant folk culture of this land and water ethnic group, and witnessing the passion and romance of the Miao people.

A Miao Dance · Stepping on the Flower Mountain
Original flavor and ecology
Dance around the walls, sing the song of Pengshui, brush the clouds and startle the waves... "This is a poem by Huang Tingjian, a poet of the Northern Song Dynasty, depicting the folk songs and dances of Pengshui.
The Miao ethnic group is a talented singer and dancer. The origin of the dance of the Pengshui Miao ethnic group is still early. After enjoying the Pengshui song and dance, Huang Tingjian spontaneously wrote poems such as "Passing the Bowl Dance with Red Robes in the Wine Lane".
The Miao children living in Pengshui live in Miao villages, perform Miao rituals, learn Miao customs, sing Miao songs, and dance Miao dances... Through years of excavation, sorting, and refinement, Pengshui has arranged a set of Miao style dances called "Stepping on the Flower Mountain" that integrates entertainment and fitness. The Miao ethnic group's Stepping on Flower Mountain Festival, also known as "Stepping on Flower Mountain", takes place on the eighth day of the fourth lunar month. Miao children in Pengshui wear festive costumes, beat drums and gongs, and rush to the festival to participate in activities such as singing, dancing, playing lions, shooting crossbows, kicking shuttlecocks, and climbing flower poles.
Ten thousand people sing 'Jiao Ayi' together, ten thousand people dance and step on the flower mountain. The Chinese Wujiang Miao ethnic group's Flower Mountain Climbing Festival has been held for eight consecutive years, and is an important part of Pengshui's "one festival, one competition", becoming a beautiful cultural card of Pengshui. In recent years, Pengshui has continuously explored and organized various ethnic and folk dance competitions. Through these competitions, the music and dance of ethnic minorities have been well inherited, driving the development and growth of local folk tourism.

The Beauty of Culture
An ancient salt well
Guizhou Central Culture Builds Brilliance
Under the Shicong Rock on the north bank of the Zhongqing River in Yushan Town, a spring water gushed out from the cave and flew into the Zhongqing River. This is one of the two natural salt springs in the southwest region, the Feijing Well.
Renowned ethnic historian Ren Naiqiang stated in his book "New Exploration of Ancient History in Sichuan" that the Yushan Salt Spring had already become a source of salt for the people of this region before the Ba ethnic group established their country. The "Qianzhong Culture" that emerged from this source was approximately the same as the birth of the Huaxia Culture in the Jiechi area of the Central Plains. The development of salt industry gave birth to the development and changes of Qianzhong culture. From the "Pu Kingdom" during the Yin and Shang dynasties, to the Chu Qianzhong and Qin Qianzhong of the Zhou dynasty, to the Wuling commandery of the Han dynasty, to the Qianzhou and Qianzhong Road of the Tang dynasty, and the Qianzhou and Shaoqing prefectures of the Song dynasty, it lasted for more than three thousand years, and its core area was always in the Wuling area. The spring salt around Yushan Salt Spring is harvested, boiled, transported, and sold, and tens of thousands of people are busy running around for it. The lines of poetry such as "Ten thousand pots of salt and smoke, Yujiang never sleeps" and "Watching a thousand people bowing their hands during the day, tasting ten thousand bright lamps at night" truly reflect the prosperity of that time.
The beauty of Pengshui's mountains and waters, as well as the splendid culture of Qianzhong, have attracted the attention of literati and scholars throughout history. Huang Tingjian lived in Pengshui (then the capital of Qianzhou) for a full three years from the second year of Shaosheng (1095 AD) to the fifth year of Shaosheng (1098 AD). During this period, Huang Tingjian maintained friendly relations with local officials, literati, and the people, spread Central Plains culture, gave lectures, educated young people, and engaged in poetry, prose, and calligraphy creation. He left behind many important historical documents, including famous calligraphy works such as the "Inscription on the Pillar" and "Biography of Lin Xiangru in Lianpo", as well as nearly 300 poems and essays.
In 2010, the "Pillar Inscription Scroll" was successfully auctioned at a high price of 436.8 million yuan at the Poly Auction Company in Beijing. This is a highly anticipated event in contemporary Chinese cultural history and also the most precious cultural treasure of Pengshui. It is an important chapter in Pengshui's brilliant history.

Prince tofu pudding is made from the meat, eggs and oil of high quality hens, as well as the chicken soup boiled with leftover chicken and chicken bones.
The various specialty foods included in the "Miao Township Recipes" are sour and spicy vermicelli made from crystal silk and sweet potato powder, which is a unique Miao cuisine and has become a prominent food brand in Pengshui. It is also a true reflection of Pengshui's food culture. In recent years, Pengshui has inherited its culinary culture, innovated, and successfully created a number of well-known geographical trademark brands such as "Peng Crystal Silk Sweet Potato Powder", which are sold well around the world.

The spirit of the Red Army will forever be passed down
Boss: We ate half a jar of pickles and a few green onions from you, burned a few sticks of firewood, and added six liters of soybeans to make up for you. The Red Seventh Division has a row of cannons. "This is a note left by the Red Army to fellow villager Huang Xuezhen when they passed through Huangjia Town in Pengshui more than 80 years ago.
On May 8, 1934, the Red Army, led by Commander He Long and Political Commissar Guan Xiangying, attacked Pengshui County. At that time, the common people did not yet understand what kind of army the Red Army was, and coupled with the propaganda of the reactionary forces, the common people went into hiding. The hungry soldiers pushed open the door and entered Huang Xuezhen's house. They made a fire and cooked a meal, burned a few pieces of firewood, used a few green onions, and ate half a jar of pickled vegetables. Before leaving, the officers and soldiers left 6 liters of soybeans as compensation and wrote a note to stick on the door panel. After Huang Xuezhen returned, she looked up at the note on the door and picked up a soybean, feeling extremely grateful: The Red Army is really our own army for the people! So he decided to keep the note as a permanent memorial. In 1958, Huang Xuezhen took the initiative to saw off the door panel with a note and handed it over, which is now preserved in the Chinese People's Revolutionary Military Museum.
Nowadays, the story of 'one message' can be told by everyone in Pengshui. In order to better inherit this' fish and water situation ', the county party committee and government have transformed Huang Xuezhen's old house into a Red Army historical exhibition hall, educating party members and cadres to enhance their self-cultivation, build a strong ideological defense line against corruption and degeneration, and serve the people with integrity.
