This is my first time visiting Wushan, and listening to the tour guide introduce the local culture at Wushan Museum, I really can't understand the depth of it. The cultural heritage of Wushan far exceeds my imagination! Wushan, Wushui, and Wushu culture are all indispensable parts of visiting Wushan~
First stop: Wushan Museum, see the big world through the small window
The Wushan Museum is located at 369 Pinghu West Road, Wushan County. It is open from 09:00 to 17:00 and closed every Monday.
The best place to visit to learn about a city is its museums. The Wushan Museum highlights regional cultural characteristics such as Longgupo culture, Daxi culture, and witchcraft culture, reflecting the fruitful achievements of the Three Gorges cultural relics rescue and protection. It is a public cultural and educational institution that collects, researches, and displays Wushan's historical and cultural heritage and human environmental evidence, and is also an important cultural symbol of Chongqing's east gate.
The Wushan Museum is located at the intersection of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River, Wu Gorge, and the Xiaosanxia of the Daning River. From the museum's square, you can see the Wushan Bridge across the street. Coupled with the misty river after a light rain, no wonder Wushan has so many romantic and beautiful ancient poems. My first impression of Wushan is that it is a land of mountains and rivers, and the scenes in the painting are truly portrayed in daily life.
The Wushan Museum covers a total area of 8334 square meters and has one basic exhibition, two special exhibitions, and one temporary exhibition. It mainly includes "Wushan Wushui Wushu Culture", "Changhe Heritage", and "Lingshan Yuxiu". The museum has more than 40000 cultural relics in its collection, including more than 1000 precious cultural relics, including ancient stone tools from millions of years ago and various cultural relics left over from the Ming and Qing dynasties.
If you are a museum enthusiast, I believe that walking into Wushan Museum, you can spend a whole day inside. The museum has a rich collection of cultural relics, obvious regional characteristics, and fascinating mysterious culture. Different museums have different meanings, and each museum has its own treasure trove. Even if you're just checking in, we hope you must take a look at the treasures here~
The museum has reconstructed the living scenes of the "Wushan people" over 2 million years ago. The museum has created a realistic cave with a depth of about 4 meters and a height of about 4 meters. Inside the cave, there are "Wushan people" and some cultural relics. The realistic scene presents the living conditions of ancient humans and is accompanied by graphic and textual explanations, fully showcasing the "Wushan people". Constrained, the "Wushan People" exhibition hall is the largest and most distinctive exhibition hall invested by the Wushan Museum.
According to the tour guide's introduction, this is a fossilized tooth of the Wushan people on Longgupo dating back 2.04 million years, with white teeth on the jawbone. It is said to be the earliest human left behind and paved the way for the origin of the entire East Asian people.
This treasure of the town hall is an official decoration, a gilded copper decoration in the shape of the persimmon stem of the Western Queen Mother of the Four Spirits of the Eastern Han Dynasty. According to the appraisal conclusion obtained from research, it is a cultural relic left over from the Eastern Han Dynasty and has been identified as a first-class cultural relic by the Chongqing Cultural Relics Appraisal Group. It is 40 centimeters long, with a diameter of 1 centimeter and a thickness of 0.05 centimeters. It is a thin copper plate in the shape of a persimmon stem, with a gilded and silver surface and a circular nail hole in the middle. It is beyond my imagination to possess such exquisite skills during the Eastern Han Dynasty. This cultural relic has a history of over 2000 years and has witnessed many wasted years in the long river of time~
The millennium hanging coffins in witchcraft culture are also quite mysterious. If you want to learn more about witchcraft and Nuo culture, you can take a look here. Witchcraft civilization is also one of its brilliant colors!
The top ten treasures of Wushan Museum are recommended for everyone to visit, and there are also many exquisitely crafted collections worth stopping and admiring!
But the temporary exhibition hall on the fourth floor of the museum, which is the closest to us, is the Hundred Year Old Wushan Ticket Era. Here, you can see many childhood objects in miniature, such as grain coupons, coins, and cassette tapes. Those objects that carry old times can always inadvertently take people through time and space~
My dad came from the supply and marketing cooperative. When he saw this scene, the feeling of hiding cats in the warehouse when he was a child came out for a while. Now, he often reminisces about the beautiful childhood life~
Next to it is a granary, a book case, an abacus, and a windmill stirring grain. These are all familiar images from the past, from distant times and history, now only vague memories remain!
The Wushan Museum has a rich collection and there are many places worth stopping and appreciating. It is recommended to reserve more than 2 hours of time, otherwise you will have to clock in quickly, but I am willing for you to make a worthwhile trip~
Second stop: Must see performance, indoor fantasy show "Goddess of Wushan"
The entire drama "Goddess of Wushan" lasts for one hour, with a ticket price of 198 yuan per person and a current discounted price of 128 yuan per person.
Performance time: Starting from October 1st, 2020, there will be two performances per day, with the first at 2:30 pm and the second at 7:30 pm.
I arrived at Wushan on September 28th, just in time for the premiere ceremony of "Wushan Goddess" that afternoon. Before I even entered the theater, I heard that the drama had invited people of different ages to come and watch the rehearsal, and many people shed tears. The strongest response was from young people. I thought to myself at the time that this kind of love drama shouldn't be too good, but I didn't expect to choke up later!
The Goddess of Wushan takes musicals and dance dramas as the creation blueprint, combines the national style and China-Chic, integrates singing, dancing, vision, and technology, and is equipped with exquisite stage costumes, makeup modeling, and a large number of new art forms such as holographic projection, laser engraving, and fog forest. The whole performance is magnificent and beautiful, which subverts the visual experience of watching performances in the past. Once seen, it will be unforgettable for life!
The script mainly tells the story of the Goddess of Wushan through modern creative forms, integrating elements of Wushan's beauty, culture, and products, which are shocking and touching. After watching the whole drama, it gives people a fantastic visual feast, restoring a three-dimensional, surreal, and daring Yao Ji image.
Preface: At the top of Wushan, shrouded in clouds and mist, towering peaks stand tall.
At the beginning of the drama, an elderly man with white hair stands at the foot of the Goddess Peak, telling a beautiful story to passersby.
Chapter One "Love in Love"
The lively and lively young girl Yaoji and the spirited young man Aze met in the forest after a beautiful misunderstanding. The two began to communicate and express their feelings through songs, and eventually overcame numerous difficulties to come together~
Act 2 "Entering the World"
Aze brought Yao Ji back to the tribe. Amidst the joyful atmosphere of sunrise and sunset, labor, fishing, and gatherings, people dance enthusiastically, creating a peaceful scene.
Act Three: 'Guardian'
Water demons are now present in the world. Yao Ji transformed into a goddess to protect the village and fought against the army of water demons. In order to save the lives of the people, she spared no effort to turn the peak into water.
This chapter is also the most touching part. When I choked up, I noticed that many girls around me were sobbing, silently wiping their tears with tissues~
Epilogue of 'Red Leaf Wushan'
Years later, the world prospered. Many villagers devoutly pray for blessings under the Goddess Peak. An old man caresses the red leaf necklace on his chest and looks at the Goddess Peak from afar, unwilling to leave for a long time.
The overall feeling that this drama gave me can be summarized as "beautiful, romantic, and moving". Whether it's the actors' sincere stage performances, the setting design, or the outstanding cutting of costumes, they are all unforgettable! The background music and ending theme song are both very touching, and there is a strong sense of immersion unconsciously! I recommend 'Never Return, Never Forget' to everyone~
Coming out of the Goddess Theater is a sales area for cultural and creative products as well as local specialties. The prices are not expensive and you can easily bring some to your relatives and friends. It has to be said that the bright and fresh style here is even better than many popular check-in spots. I couldn't help but take a photo as a souvenir~
Third stop: Head to the top of the Three Gorges and visit the Shennu Peak on the Shennu Heavenly Road
The Shennu Tianlu Scenic Area is located 100 meters east of the intersection of County Road 003 and Provincial Road 301 in Wushan County. It takes about an hour to drive up the mountain from the county seat.
On the second day after watching 'The Goddess of Wushan', I planned to go and see the beauty of the Goddess Peak. However, it was raining and cloudy all the way, with only scattered peaks visible.
Riding the cableway and the goddess ladder, we arrived at the observation deck and waited for a long time, but the clouds did not disperse. The face of the goddess peak never appeared. Unfortunately, we can only wait until the next time to achieve perfection!
The average altitude of this scenic area is around 1200 meters, which is several degrees cooler than the urban area, especially on rainy days. Remember to bring a thick coat up the mountain. The road leading to the scenic area is shrouded in clouds and mist all year round, and it is not an exaggeration to call it the most beautiful rural road. On the way back to the city, I have been planning my next trip to Wushan until the red leaves bloom, leaving no regrets before leaving~
