In July, I participated in the Volkswagen Thousand Mile Self Drive Tour with friends, embarking on a painful yet joyful journey
Pain is the fatigue of driving thousands of miles in hot weather
Happiness is the dual enjoyment of taste buds and visuals brought by delicious food and beautiful scenery, and most importantly, the rich driving experience brought by a comfortable hybrid car.
The first stop is Chongqing
Shancheng is truly a surreal city, with rich mountain terrain that makes you admire nature while marveling at the wisdom and hard work of the working people. How many hands and feet, how many drops of sweat, can create a brilliant city in such a complex and rugged environment. On that day in Chongqing, it was cloudy and foggy. We drove across the Qiansimen Bridge, and the buildings on the other side looked like mirages. The lower part of the bridge was already uneven in terrain, with water mist appearing and disappearing. It was easy to understand why Spirited Away chose Chongqing as the filming location.
Hot Chongqing hotpot, mouth watering ice noodles, even though I had a crazy diarrhea for a few days afterwards, I couldn't help but savor it endlessly
Traveling north along the Yangtze River, passing through caves of varying lengths, heading towards Wushan
Arriving at Wushan, the weather cleared up. Isn't this the picture in the middle school textbook? Hurry up and take a group photo. Suddenly, I feel a little nostalgic for my school days. Seeing this scene, I really want to recite a poem. However, how did I learn to be humble? I can only say one sentence (I understand it myself here, and typing it out will be harmonious).
This blue sky, this white clouds, this green mountains, this green No, Huangshui, why is it Huangshui? Later, when I asked the local boatman, I found out that Wushan has always been green mountains and clear waters. It was because of the flooding in recent months, which caused the water level to rise sharply, that we saw "Huangshui". Hey, in the midst of many disasters in 2020, I hope the affected areas will recover soon. Taking a boat deep into the small Three Gorges, we finally saw the original appearance of Wushan - green mountains and clear waters.
Due to the tight schedule, I didn't have the Wushan grilled fish. The Wushan crispy apricot and fish hotpot are for your taste buds. I asked what the fish is called three times but couldn't remember it. Anyway, there are no scales, and the taste is just chewy.
In order to experience the feeling of resigning from the White Emperor, we drove to the White Emperor City. The photo was taken by the White Emperor the next day. The long corridor of Baidi City is truly magnificent and full of beauty, magnificent! Yes, that's the word, but it doesn't reflect its subtle beauty.
Why do we say there is a kind of secluded beauty? I don't know if it's due to the weather or the BGM that comes with Baidi City. There is always an inexplicable sense of melancholy here. In the hot weather, there is always a hint of coldness around me, especially in this banyan tree forest. The banyan trees are intertwined in intricate ways, forming a cool shade. The hemp ropes wrapped around the trees have painted fairy like characters floating on them. The wind blows through the marriage cards on the trees, and the collision of the concentric locks makes a sound, causing a shiver. In fact, there is an empty sedan chair in the middle of the tree, and the photographer is timid enough not to let it enter the picture. But these objects complement each other harmoniously, making you unable to resist stopping and savoring. So I say it's a subtle beauty.
The weather is too hot, but this ice cream has left a deep impression on me. It's almost life-saving and must have a name. There are also silly and cute friends, hahaha
During the reign of Emperor Bai, at dusk in Zigui, I experienced the difficulty of the Shu Road and the difficulty of reaching the blue sky. I also witnessed the magnificent scenery of the Three Gorges Dam's flood discharge
The second stop is Changsha
I didn't have much feelings for Changsha before, until I met a friend from Changsha. I often heard that there are countless delicious foods and rich night market culture in Changsha, and now I finally got to see them. The strong fireworks atmosphere in Changsha seems to have finally pulled me out of the trance of the epidemic
Changsha stinky tofu, the only tea in Changsha with a pleasant color and a "smelly and happy" flavor, is said to be the most authentic in the travel guide. The sugar and oil baba and lard mixed with flour in the deep lane found after several streets, which is the most earthly and simple taste of happiness. I almost forgot about the fruit flavored alcoholic beverage packaged in an enamel jar. Three or five friends really have the pleasure of drinking and having fun on the street. (We all park our cars in hotels before daring to come out and drink some alcoholic beverages.) Here is a warm reminder: there are millions of roads, safety is the top priority. Improper driving can bring tears to both family and friends
Arriving in Changsha, it must be said that Orange Island. The mountains are red all over, the forests are stained; the rivers are blue and transparent, and hundreds of boats compete for flow. Seasonal restrictions, without the mountains being red all over, it is still spectacular enough
The third stop is Yueyang
Everyone probably knows about the Yueyang Tower, overlooking the Dongting Lake for 800 miles and taking in a panoramic view of the entire river and Lishui. I am a commoner, not as knowledgeable as the ancients, but I am still amazed by the scenery. Let's appreciate the photos together
The car you gave us is also good. Here are a few pictures
The fourth stop is Wuhan
In this city that has been sleeping for half a year, our Hot dry noodles, she finally recovered from her illness. Seeing her again, she is really very energetic. Wuhan people say, 'Taste Hubu Lane in the morning and Jiqing Street at night.' The first time I came to Wuhan, I only went to Hubu Lane. If I come here again, of course, I have to go to Jiqing Street to explore.
Isn't it too lively? There isn't such a strong atmosphere in Shanghai, and this' illness' has completely healed. The streets are filled with braised dishes, crispy fried meat, and green bean soup for a lifetime of good friends. It's cool and refreshing, and the last grand snail barbecue feast is enough to eat and go back to sleep.
After passing by the Yellow Crane Tower, I left a night view and added a panoramic view the next day. Because it was my first time climbing the Yellow Crane Tower, I won't go up this time
The fifth stop is Nanchang
Before this trip, apart from knowing from textbooks that Nanchang was the place where the first shot of armed revolution was fired, I knew nothing else about it, and I never seemed to have any curiosity about this city or wanted to learn about it. Perhaps if it weren't for her being one of the routes on this self driving trip, I would never have had the opportunity to set foot on this land in my lifetime. So, fortunately, I came and got to know her.
It's already evening when you arrive in Nanchang. Entering this city, the feeling you face is solemn and orderly, but not lifeless and solemn. There is a sense of reverence and solemnity, as if someone suddenly brings up the puppet string worn on your spine, and your waist instantly wants to straighten up, walking with a strong and majestic demeanor. Otherwise, it wouldn't be worthy of the city's appearance. Why do we have this feeling? First of all, let's talk about the traffic in Nanchang. When we arrived in Nanchang, it was the evening rush hour, and we could clearly feel that there were many vehicles but not congested. Everything was so orderly and well-organized. Besides, the buildings on both sides of the road were neat and uniform, with basically vertical and strip-shaped textures in appearance. I don't quite understand the proprietary terms in architecture. The first thing that came to my mind when I saw these buildings was the Great Hall of the People, which is simple, atmospheric, and has a spacious atmosphere. Finally, when it comes to the environment, being spotless may be a bit exaggerated, but it gives the impression of being clean and tidy. Overall, it's just two words: comfortable. At the beginning of the lights, this neat and uniform atmosphere is even more vivid.
The sixth stop is Nanjing
This is a city full of national honor and disgrace. Nanjing! Nanjing! The sound echoed in my ears. The majestic Zhongshan Mausoleum and the gentle Qinhuai River carry the profound history of this city.
The final destination is Shanghai
The journey has come to a successful conclusion
