If there must be a city that gives me reasons to go back and forth, then Chongqing really has too many reasons worth repeating.
During my four years of college in Sichuan, I went to Chongqing every year, and even after graduation, I often revisited my hometown. To me, everything here is familiar and familiar.
We came to Chongqing this time with our best friend and wanted to go to Wulong Scenic Area together, so after leaving the airport, we headed straight for our destination!
scheduling
DAY 1: Hangzhou Chongqing Xiannv Mountain Tourist Center
DAY2: Tiansheng Sanqiao - Xiannv Mountain National Forest Park - Impression Wulong Performance
DAY3: Furong River - Furong Cave - Chongqing Airport - Hangzhou
Regarding Transportation
Firstly, you need to take a plane or train from across the country to reach Chongqing. There are two types of public transportation from Chongqing to Wulong!
1、 Train
There are currently 4 trains passing through Wulong, namely:
5609—07:30; K687—12:16;K191—13:37;K653—19:42, Departing from Chongqing North Railway Station, it takes 2 hours and 3 hours respectively to reach Wulong. Then, you can walk from the train station to the bus stop and transfer to various scenic spots.
2、 Public transportation buses
Take a bus from Chongqing Four Kilometer Bus Hub to Wulong Bus Station, and then transfer.
But I recommend self driving more. If conditions permit, renting a car from the airport or train station will give you more freedom in the journey!
Regarding accommodation
Chongqing Wulong Green Man Xuan Resort Hotel
There are many accommodation options near the Fairy Mountain Service Center, just find a high rated one, and it's very convenient to eat around
Regarding cuisine
There's no need to say much about Chongqing's cuisine. I feel like I can easily find any restaurant without stepping on the bandwagon. With reviews, I tried several restaurants with good ratings, making it very convenient to eat, stay, and travel around the entire scenic area. It's much more lively and bustling than I imagined.
Born Three Bridges
Our first stop today is the famous Tiansheng Sanqiao. You can change your ticket at the Xiannv Mountain Town Tourist Center and take the shuttle bus to the scenic area
The most famous feature of Wulong is undoubtedly the magnificent natural landscape of the Three Bridges, which is a rare geological wonder ecological tourism area in China and a typical karst landform.
The scenic area is known for its magnificent stone arch bridges, Tianlong Bridge, Qinglong Bridge, and Heilong Bridge, which are the largest natural bridge group in Asia.
The most convenient way to enter the scenic area is to take this elevator built on a cliff. After coming out of the elevator and looking up, I really feel particularly spectacular. This is also my first time taking such an elevator.
Afterwards, there is a long stone staircase descending along the way. Do you feel familiar with the scene here?
Yes, the once popular variety show "Where Are We Going, Dad?" was filmed here.
As you reach the end of the road, you will see this idyllic paradise like scenery before your eyes. This is also a filming location for the movie "Curse of the Golden Flower". It can only be said that hiding such a house in such terrain is truly amazing!
This official post office actually has a history of over a thousand years and was rebuilt during the filming of 'Curse of the Golden Flower'. The roof is shrouded by the abyss of Tianlong Bridge, surrounded by rugged rocks and lush shrubs, forming a quadrangle courtyard.
The courtyard is composed of several connected green tile and grey walled wing rooms, exuding an antique and distant atmosphere.
At the entrance of Tianlong Tiankeng, there is a mechanical dinosaur, which is a commemorative symbol left by Transformers 4.
Fairy Mountain
Before coming here, the most anticipated attraction was the Fairy Mountain National Forest Park. Unfortunately, the weather was not pleasant, and in the afternoon, fog suddenly filled the entire forest.
We drove to the most beautiful highway, although there was no blue sky and white clouds at that time, there was an inexplicable hazy beauty, which reminded me of the misty forest.
You can also experience the sightseeing train in the scenic area. This retro car takes us to the next scenic spot
Although the visibility in the scenic area is not high at this moment, it has a unique charm on rainy days. Our transparent umbrella has become a photography prop, and any photo is a beautiful memory.
In fact, the Fairy Mountain in winter should also be particularly beautiful. The entire forest is covered in white snow, and the silver is like a fairy tale world. I made a promise to come back in winter with my best friend to make up for this little regret!
Although I didn't see many small animals, I ran into a sheep that was grazing leisurely and freely!
Looking forward to having good weather next time!
Impression of Wulong
After leaving the forest park and returning to the visitor center for dinner, we will head to the Impression Wulong Theater!
If we were to travel to Wulong, how could we miss such a stunning performance? So we bought our first tickets early and eagerly waited for this visual feast!
The "Impression Wulong" theater is located in Taoyuan Grand Canyon, Wulong County, Chongqing, about 9 kilometers away from Xiannvshan Town. The canyon is in a "U" shape, with a height difference of 180 meters. The distant mountains are mysterious, the nearby mountains are majestic, and the ravines are clear and secluded. The choice of theater not only protects the ecology, but also provides excellent performance space for performances.
Speaking of which, such a stunning performance was still led by Zhang Yimou, the artistic advisor of the Impression "Iron Triangle", and Wang Chaoge and Fan Yue as the chief directors. Remembering the impressions of Lijiang that I saw in Yunnan and Liu Sanjie that I saw in Guilin, every performance was heart wrenching and magnificent.
In this 70 minute performance, more than 100 featured actors performed live with genuine emotions, focusing on the disappearing "song" as the main content, allowing us to personally experience the magnificent natural landscape of the natural heritage site and the unique local customs of Bashu.
It has to be said that every aspect, whether it's the lighting, the actors' genuine expressions, or the deeply ingrained plot, is breathtaking. Immersed in this vivid and emotional performance, there is an illusion of crossing time. Until the actors left and the lights went out, I still felt an endless aftertaste.
To be honest, when you come to Wulong, don't miss out on Impression Wulong's performance!
Furong River
We drove to our destination today - Furong River and Furong Cave. As soon as we got off the mountain, the weather immediately became clear. Although it was a bit hot, seeing the beautiful scenery in front of us was really worth it!
To enter the scenic area, the first step is to take this high-altitude cable car, which truly offers a panoramic view of the mountains.
Looking down at the entire scenic area, the river surface changes colors due to the reflection of sunlight, which makes the shutter in my hand unable to stop for a moment
The river surface today is emerald green, and the colors of nature are truly admirable. The beautiful scenery in front of me is like a painting, making me briefly forget the heat at this moment and be enveloped by a fresh green.
I can imagine how beautiful it is now after taking so many photos. It's just like that when I think of the the Yarlung Zangbo River in Xizang I have been there before.
To fully explore the Furong River, we also need to transfer to a cable car, but this time the cable car is quite interesting, a bit like a moving elevator.
We boarded a small cruise ship anchored by the river and began our journey on the Furong River.
I haven't taken this kind of small ferry in years, screaming excitedly.
The Chongqing section of Furong River is a national key scenic spot, with a length of 35 kilometers and a typical large-scale "U" - shaped canyon as the main feature.
In the Gaoxia Pinghu Tourist Area in the Wulong section of Chongqing, the river water is green and blue, with vigorous tree roots on both sides, water birds dancing, stalactites hanging, flying springs and waterfalls, and green shadows swaying. It is the most beautiful scenery of the Furong River.
Furong cave
The Furong Cave, which we will visit last, is a large limestone cave formed in the Quaternary Pleistocene (about 1.2 million years ago) and developed in ancient Cambrian dolomitic limestone. It is known as one of the "three major caves in the world".
I have also been to many similar caves, and Furong Cave is indeed the largest and most spectacular one I have ever been to!
The stalactites in the cave come in various shapes, including stone waterfalls and curtains that are 15 meters wide and 21 meters high, smooth and jade like brown paulownia shaped stalagmites, and sparkling curled stones and stone flowers that shine like stars.
According to the distribution of stalactites, various poetic names were given, such as the Underwater Dragon Palace, which looks colorful from a distance and feels like walking in an underwater palace. The name is so wonderful!
The main attractions in the cave include the Jinluan Treasure Hall, Leifeng Pagoda, Jade Pillar Sky, Jade Forest Qionghua, Dog Teeth Crystal Flower, Millennium Kiss, Animal Kingdom, Underwater Dragon Palace, Giant Curtain Waterfall, Stone Field Pearl, Reproductive God Pillar, Coral Jade Pool, etc.
Visiting Furong Cave truly allows people to experience the magical nature of nature.
There is another reason why I like Furong Cave, which is that it is so cool here. We linger inside and don't want to go out at all. This temperature is perfect for escaping the heat, so don't miss it!
The two-day trip ended hastily, we agreed to come back in the next season!
