The three towers of Chongsheng Temple are large and small. The large towers were built first, named Chihiro Tower and Wenbi Tower. The appearance is the same as that of the Little Wild Goose Pagoda in Xi'an, the Yongtai Temple Pagoda in Dengfeng, and the Baima Temple Pagoda in Luoyang. The north and south towers are both 10-level and 42.17 meters high. They are octagonal hollow brick towers with dense eaves. The two small towers tilt towards each other. The south tower is tilted at 18° and the tower tip is eccentric at 93 cm. The north tower is tilted at 12° and the tower tip is eccentric at 90 cm. More than 400 years ago, it was recorded that "the two towers are like wings inward".

The time when the three towers were built is unknown, from 627 to 859. There are four accounts, and the later years are more credible. In 1639, Xu Xiake traveled near the Erhai Lake for 24 days and saw three pagodas standing in front of Chongsheng Temple, with tall pines towering into the sky on all sides. To the west, it enters from the mountain gate. There is a bell tower and three towers facing each other, which is extremely majestic."

Chongsheng Temple is the Tianlong Temple in Jin Yong's martial arts novel "Eight Parts of the Dragon". Dali Kingdom has a history of 314 years. Nine of the 22 emperors once became a monk here. Most of them moved from Dali City to Chongsheng Temple outside the city due to failed power struggles. Living in it, Chongsheng Temple has a high status. It was burned during the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty, leaving only three pagodas. The reconstruction of Chongsheng Temple was completed in 2005.

Third stop: Xizhou
