"If you are not satisfied with life, why not go west to Dali." Many people regard Dali as a must-check travel destination because of this lyrics. In fact, whether it is director Ning Hao's work "Heart Flowers on the Road" or its interlude "Go Dali", it makes this place a habitat for the soul. Just like Geng Hao played by Huang Bo, who has encountered an emotional crisis, accompanied by Hao Yi played by Xu Zheng, comes here, no matter how much life suffers, It has been alleviated or cured in Dali, and there is such a magical charm here. I have traveled back and forth to Dali several times. After visiting well-known attractions such as the Three Pagodas or the Ancient City, this time I plan to visit the Bai Village next to the Erhai Lake to experience Dali on the other side.
Erhai Longniche Wharf: The location of the movie "Heart Flowers on the Road"
It was mentioned before that Dali was the location for the video movie "Heart Flowers on the Road", but you may be curious as to where the beautiful Dali in the movie is. In fact, the location is in Longkan Village, Dali Town.
Longkan Village is one of the villages closest to the ancient city. It is just east of the ancient city and close to the Erhai Lake. The distance is not too far. You can reach it in about ten minutes by driving outside the ancient city. To the north is another famous village on the Erhai Lake. Cai Village, but everyone prefers to call it "Longkan Wharf". Although it has the charm of an ancient town now, this is actually a typical Bai village. It used to be quite poor. It has been gradually rectified in 2006 before it has become what it is today. It is still under renovation today, and sometimes it is closed. However, there are still tourists coming. After all, it seems that the tranquility of the entire Dali lies here.
Although the parking space at the gate is crowded, there are really not many tourists inside. It is only a stone's throw away from the ancient city, but it is two completely different worlds. Compared with the crowded tourists and lively shouts and hawking in the ancient town, the first thing I felt since entering Longkan Village was "tranquility". This "tranquility" is not that no sound can be heard, but a kind of inner tranquility: The net red metasequoia growing in the Erhai Lake, the soft sound of waves beating against the shore, the chatter of passing tourists, and the breeze blowing in the face can all make those sitting on the shore feel a different kind of tranquility. The reason why the tranquility of the entire Dali is here. This is the reason.
The temperature in Dali is very suitable. Even in cold winter, except for a few days, there is still a temperature of around 20° C when the weather is good. This is the most suitable temperature, let alone spring and autumn, which is very comfortable for traveling. The metasequoia under the warm sun has turned red, and it still has the charm of autumn. I picked up the odd-shaped leaves on the roadside and took a picture, freezing the most beautiful Erhai Lake here. How can such an Erhai Lake not make people move?
The roads in the entire Longkan Village are very good, and it is very comfortable to walk along the Erhai Lake. However, motor vehicles are not allowed to pass through it, so riding a bicycle is also a good choice. There are not many shared bicycles here. It took a lot of effort to find one. I don't dare to lock the car easily. If I don't pay attention, I will be rode away by others. Even if I "take care of" the bicycle well, I am still targeted by many "tourists". Several waves of tourists came to borrow the car to take photos along the way, which seems to be a good "posing artifact". With the blessing of bicycles, the speed will naturally be much faster, so you can go to the wetland park in front.
I have to say that the environment in Longkan Village is really good. Apart from the crystal clear Erhai Lake and the wetland park, the biggest proof is the group of waterbirds on the side. Maybe it is a wrong time. These birds do not surround tourists like Dianchi Lake. Begging for food, they just gather on the water far away, and it is impossible to see whether it is a local waterbird or a red-billed gull from Siberia.
If you are a fan of "Heart Flowers on the Road", you will definitely go to find out where the Wutong Inn is. In fact, there is no real Wutong Inn. It is fictional in the movie. Although some inns have been opened here, the number of houses is not large. The price is relatively expensive, and the room for choice is small. In addition, there are almost no places to eat or afternoon tea around. It is better to go back to the surrounding areas of the ancient city.
I feel that Longkan Wharf is currently the most pristine and natural one among all the scenic spots in Dali. The pastoral scenery of the countryside and the profound tranquility of the Erhai Lake are vividly displayed here. However, it is still under construction here. Although the infrastructure and equipment may be more complete in the future, I hope that this simplicity and nature can be preserved more, so that tourists who are bored in life can have a spiritual habitat where they can take a walk and view the sea.
Caicun: The most popular Bai village beside Erhai Lake
Dali is a Bai Autonomous Prefecture. This is naturally a gathering place for the Bai people. On the bank around the Erhai Lake, countless Bai villages have lived here for generations. Some of them are relatively deserted, but some have become popular attractions. If you want to talk about the most popular Bai village on the edge of the Erhai Lake, there is no better than Cai Village, located in the east of the ancient city of Dali.
Caicun and Wa Village are connected. In the past, they both made a living by fishing. Perhaps it was because of the unique geographical advantage of being close to the ancient city. After Dali became popular, it also became popular. The excessive influx of tourists made this primitive town overwhelmed. Not only did the phenomenon of slaughtering passengers occur, but too many cruise ships also put great pressure on the Erhai Lake. In addition, the safety of private boats was not guaranteed, and many tourists were reluctant to come here for a time, so later rectification began. More than 40 private boats were banned, and the remaining 20 were managed by a newly established company with clearly marked prices. Tourists gradually returned here, making Caicun the natural and original village that receives the most tourists along the Erhai Lake.
I had the experience of sailing on the lake at Caicun Wharf before, so this time I only walked along the Erhai Lake and did not board the boat. Along the Erhai Lake, you can find that many houses are built in the middle of the water slightly away from the shore. They require a walk to reach them. I don't know if they are residential houses or inns. In short, they are all beautiful at first glance and have a feeling of water houses.
These buildings do not look like a "village" at all, but they are actually a new look of Cai Village. After Cai Village finished rectifying the cruise ship, pollution control and environmental restoration began immediately to restore Cai Village to its previous appearance. After all,"lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets." The management of Caicun is mainly to build a wetland park. The water from the wetland is not introduced into the nearby Erhai Lake, but comes from the water from the Zhonghe River of Cangshan Mountain. This water will be introduced into the wetland park and will have to be settled and purified before it can flow into the Erhai Lake. It has become a "cleaning machine". In addition to the function of sewage purification, the wetland itself is also a beautiful scenery.
If there is anything else "old things" on the lake, it would be this dilapidated pavilion, which seems to be called the "Sea View Pavilion". However, I can't remember the name. I only remember that it is on the edge of the Erhai Lake. Although it has been rotten and the roof has been "hollowed out", it still stands there. It has been beaten by the wind and rain for countless years. It can be regarded as a memory of Laocai Village. What's interesting is that this dilapidated pavilion seems to be also a "online celebrity check-in place" on the edge of the Erhai Lake. Many tourists who visit Cai Village will check in here to commemorate their memories.
I have to say that the reason why Caicun is very popular is that it is close to the ancient city is only one thing, and the scenery here is really beautiful. The entire village is adjacent to the Erhai Lake and you can walk directly to the lake. Although Caicun does not have foreign-imported red glasequoia like Longkan Wharf, there are also trees growing in the water. For example, this tree grows alone by the water. It can be called the "loneliest" tree in Caicun.
If the tree above is the "loneliest" tree, then the bird below is the "loneliest" bird. Other waterbirds are in groups, but it is the only one standing alone on the stone in the middle of the water, as if listening to the waves or pondering. In short, it just stands there without moving. I wonder if it is also a "sad bird" that flies to Dali to heal.
However, although Caicun has been under development, many original things have been preserved. There are more than a dozen well-preserved God Temple, Benzhu Temple, Kuixing Pavilion and Zong Ancestral Hall in the village, which can be called a museum of the original ecology of the Bai people. The most amazing of them is this Yuban Temple. Judging from its name, it feels like an ancestral temple. However, the god enshrined in it is called "Zhang Gu's Lady". I'm afraid many people have never heard of this god, right? Because this is the local god of the Bai people, there is really no place else. It is said that there used to be a Baizi Kingdom here. The king's aunt was particularly concerned about the people and the sufferings of the people. Later, she turned into a god to protect the Bai people who went fishing, so there is the present Jade 'an Temple. There were still people praying inside when I went, but it was best not to take photos of the statue. If you are interested, you can go and see it for yourself.
In addition to the beautiful wetland park and splendid Bai culture, compared with other Bai villages, Cai Village's hardware facilities are also more complete. There are more than 120 inns of various types and more than 20 restaurants in the village. Basic tourism needs can still be met, so you can go here when you arrive in Dali. The natural beauty and cultural aura will make you feel worthwhile. However, if you want to live more conveniently, you still have to go to the edge of the ancient city.
Tinghuatang: A romantic B & B surrounded by a sea of flowers
When you arrive in Dali, you naturally have to stay in a B & B. Staying in an exquisite B & B has more charm than any star-rated hotel, and it can also better integrate into the scenery of Dali. Therefore, every time I come to Dali, I choose a different B & B. I have experienced the excitement of the ancient city of Dali, and I have also listened to the shallow waves of the Erhai Lake. This time, I stayed at Tinghuatang in Shimen Village, Dali Town to experience the romance of Dali.
This B & B is next to the ancient city of Dali, facing the ancient city across the street. It is this street that also blocks the complicated tourists. It is perfect for tourists who like quiet: If you want to be lively, you can enter the ancient city within a few steps. If you want to be quiet for a while, you can return to your own small world at any time. Not to mention that at this close distance, the B & B also has a shuttle bus to pick up and drop off, which is very convenient. You can also see this white building surrounded by flowers of flowers on the shuttle bus, which looks vibrant and romantic.
Tinghuatang, as the name suggests, is a world of flowers. Perhaps it is precisely because the B & B is not in the small ancient city that there is enough space to create this sea of flowers. Whether it is spring, summer, autumn and winter, it is still surrounded by a sea of flowers. The warm sun shines obliquely into the courtyard, and it is not an exaggeration to say that this is the most romantic B & B in Dali.
The entire yard is not built solely by flowers, but has been carefully designed. Whether it is a flower sea arch or a birdcage decoration, it looks very dreamy. It is also equipped with a wooden horse and a swing, as if entering an Alice's Wonderland world. There are also tables, chairs and benches in the yard. Pick a sunny afternoon, make a pot of tea, sit in the garden and flip through books casually, leisurely and comfortable.
Next to the garden is the hotel's public area, which is also the hotel's front desk. There are tall floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides, which not only allows the sunshine outside to enter, but also allows you to enjoy the sea of flowers outside at any time. The decoration style of the entire public area is simple but not simple. The solid color tone and bright tables and stools make the visual feel very comfortable. In addition, the hotel's front desk is polite and friendly, making it an excellent experience before checking in.
The public area is also the hotel's "ever-changing area". It can be used as the hotel's breakfast room in the morning. The breakfast here is freshly made. There is a bowl of hot rice noodles with a freshly fried egg, and soft glutinous corn and nutritious milk, facing the newly rising morning light, a perfect morning begins.
At night, it transformed into an authentic Qingba again. There was no such noise as a disco bar, only comfortable folk songs. We met three to five friends here while chatting and drinking. That was another kind of different atmosphere. Even one person didn't have to worry about it. You might be able to make many new friends in the public area. As for whether there was a romantic "encounter", it depends on luck.
Of course, a B & B is a place to live after all. In addition to a good environment, it is more important to live comfortably, and this Tinghuatang will not disappoint. It was already night when I returned to the B & B, but the corridor of the B & B was still like daytime. It was precisely because the B & B simulated windows in the walls, which gave a daytime effect that never night under the effect of the lighting.
The room type I booked was called the "Petal Sea Premium Queen Room". I was amazed as soon as I entered the door. The whole room was cave style, as if I had returned to Cappadocia in Turkey. After all, this room is called the "Sea of Petals", and flower elements are naturally indispensable in the room. The walls and ceilings are decorated with dried flowers, which also looks very romantic.
In addition, the spare parts in the room are also very comfortable. Many people think that B & Bs are not as good as star-rated hotels, which is a big mistake. The comfort of many B & Bs is actually not inferior to star-rated hotels. The same is true for Tinghuatang. The sheets are clean and tidy, the mattress is soft and delicate, and the pillows are also divided into pillows and sleeping pillows. It feels very comfortable to lie down. After watching TV for a while, you feel sleepy and sleep well all night.
Although Tinghuatang is a B & B, it is also equipped with toiletries. If you are a lazy person like me who doesn't want to bring anything, then Tinghuatang is indeed a good choice. After all, just carrying clothes is heavy enough. If you carry big bags of toiletries, you will lose the leisure of a vacation.
I deliberately left the lights on when I went to bed at night, so that I would be awakened by the first ray of morning sunshine. I like the floor-to-ceiling windows of the B & B very much. I feel that sitting by the window is a kind of enjoyment. It is said that there are other room types in the B & B, but basically they are all equipped with this floor-to-ceiling window. After washing up, I went downstairs to have breakfast. There was no fixed destination, so I planned to stroll around the ancient city. Life in Dali should be so leisurely, comfortable and long. Listening to the Flower Hall not only listens to the flowers, but also listens to Dali's wind and night.
In fact, this is the life I want in Dali. I sleep until I wake up naturally in the morning, then go to the Erhai Lake to blow the wind, hum a charming folk song, and stroll leisurely. Life is never just what is in front of me, but poetry and distance must depend on myself. Pursue and look forward to the next meeting with Dali.
