In July 2019, we achieved a 7-day parent-child tour experience in Yunnan. Before going to Yunnan, I did some understanding on the Internet. Most of them suggested that it was best to go to Yunnan to play with a group tour. Taking a group tour was not suitable for us who had to accommodate our children, so we finally decided to travel freely.
After having a general understanding of some tourist attractions in Yunnan, we embarked on our journey with the mentality of "the boat will always be straight when it comes to the bridge".
After traveling in Yunnan for a few days, I personally feel that Yunnan is not as rumored on the Internet. After all, it takes more than one slap. The attitude of others towards you depends most on your attitude towards others.
Let's share with you the strategies and suggestions for this parent-child tour in Yunnan! If you don't want to travel to Kunming, the entire trip will actually take 6 days, and you won't be tired with your children. If you want to travel to Kunming, it is recommended to arrange 7 days. The first and last two days are basically spent on the road, and the actual time for playing is only 5 days. We didn't visit Kunming, it was purely a trip.
July 7, 10:05 - 12:50 Xiamen Gaoqi Airport T4-Kunming Changshui Airport.
After arriving in Kunming, transfer to the high-speed railway to Dali. The second-class seat is 150 yuan/person, about 2 hours. There is a direct bus to the railway station at the airport. It is 40 yuan per person for adults and half price for children. We take a taxi to the railway station by Didi. The time is about 40 minutes and the cost is about 90 yuan. You can choose the last general high-speed rail and then take a short tour of Kunming.
Stayed in Dali on July 7 and July 8 (2 nights). Since Dali is now in the period of governance of the Erhai Lake, hotels and inns within 500 meters of the Erhai Lake are closed, there are no sea view rooms now. Even if there are, they are all located far away from the Erhai Lake. The inn we stayed in was a sea view room, but on the mountain, the scenery was beautiful and we could see the entire Erhai Lake, but it was inconvenient to eat.
July 8
1. Rent a car and travel around the Erhai Lake. It takes about half a day. The driver costs 300 yuan. She serves as a guide throughout the journey. She will wait for you on the roadside when you go to the attractions. Attractions: Erhai Double Corridor Scenic Area (cruise ship can be used), Huahai (the best tourist location), Chongsheng Temple Three Towers (royal temples during the Dali Dynasty → Dali landmark buildings), Nanzhao Style Island.
Dali cuisine recommendations: roasted milk fan, fish casserole, Xizhou cake, raked meat bait.
2. Visit the Ancient City of Dali, Foreign Street at night.
After a day of play, I returned to the hotel to have a good rest, and took the train to Lijiang early the next morning. From Dali to Lijiang, you can choose to train or take a bus. The length of time is similar, both take about 2 hours, but the cost is much different.
Check-in on July 9: Lijiang Ancient City. Stay for a long time. Sifu Yashe Holiday B & B (Lijiang Main Store). (Address: Dayan Ancient Town, No. 76 Yinyu Lane, Wuyi Street (near Sifang Street).)
This inn is located in the ancient city of Lijiang. Eating nearby is also very convenient and close to the new Bar Street. I sincerely recommend it for nothing else but the attitude of the staff and the cleanliness of the room.
The inn has a large tea room, a small tea room, and two reception tea rooms in the lobby. There are dedicated staff to make tea for you. If you are tired out of going out, go back to the inn and tell the staff that they want to make tea. They will make you a pot of Pu 'er tea, one of Yunnan's specialties.
The most important thing is that this service is free, free, free.
After a short rest, visit the ancient city of Lijiang and eat delicious food. It gets dark in Kunming after 8 o'clock. After dark, you can go to Wenchang Palace to enjoy the night view of the entire ancient city of Lijiang.
On July 10, we signed up for a small tour group (8 people) to Shangri-La. The cost was about 800 yuan/person. Children less than 1.2 meters were half price, and adults more than 1.2 meters were charged. Stay in Shangri-La for two days and one night, including accommodation, winter clothing, oxygen cylinder, round-trip fare and tickets. There is no consumption for the whole trip.
The first stop on the Shangri-La trip is the first bay of the Yangtze River. The Yangtze River pours down from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to Shasongbi Village in Shangri-La County. It suddenly makes a sharp turn of more than 100 degrees and turns to the northeast, forming a rare "v" shaped big bend.
Tiger Leaping Gorge is recommended to go. Watching the Yangtze River water flowing slowly to surging, that feeling can only be felt at the scene.
After swimming in the Tiger Leaping Gorge, you will arrive at the Shangri-La Prairie in the Napahai after lunch.
In the evening, go to Shangri-La Tibetan Tusi's home for dinner, drink butter tea, taste highland barley wine, watch Tibetan people perform, and participate in bonfire parties. I have to say that highland barley wine is so easy to eat. I still want to have another cup after finishing a cup. However, I heard that the alcohol concentration of this wine is about 30 degrees and has a lot of stamina, so it is still better than drinking too much.
On July 11, I got up early and had breakfast and set out for Dafo Temple. I heard that the prayer wheel there was the largest prayer wheel in the world. After visiting the Great Buddha Temple, set off for Pudacuo National Park.
Pudacuo Park is mainly composed of two plateau lakes, Bita Sea and Shudu Lake. The altitude is between 3,500 and 4,150. Cattle, sheep and Tibetan pigs can be seen everywhere grazing freely. Just as Han Hong sang,"Amara says cattle and sheep are all over the hillside."
After visiting Pudacuo Park, you will depart for Lijiang, which is a 3-hour drive.
On July 12, visit Lashihai in Lijiang, boating and riding the ancient tea-horse road, and then go to Qianqin to watch the performance. Qiangu Qing's performance has different time periods, like 11 a.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. You can leave for Lashihai in the morning for boating and horseback riding, and then go to watch the show until 6 o'clock, so that the time will not be too short and you won't have to waste extra time.
On July 13, I went home!
For this 7-day trip to Yunnan, our family of four had a total bill balance of about 30,000 yuan for the entire trip.
Since Lijiang and Shangri-La belong to plateau areas, and because everyone's physique is different, altitude reactions may occur. You can bring your own American ginseng or take Rhodiola orally 7 days in advance. Rhodiola is to prevent altitude reactions. Generally, children rarely experience altitude reaction, and most of them occur in adults with strong lung capacity and good physique.
Finally, good psychological quality is a panacea for overcoming and defeating altitude sickness. A large number of examples have proved that maintaining an open-minded and optimistic mood and establishing a strong self-confidence can reduce the physical discomfort of the altitude sickness zone.
Finally, it is recommended to wear flat shoes when traveling to Yunnan. Due to the large temperature difference between morning and evening, it is recommended to wear long pants and a thin coat from July to August.
