Ending 2020 in a hurry and ushering in 2021!
Climbing high and praying for blessings in the New Year has become a custom that has been passed down for thousands of years. Entering 2021, we will climb Jizu Mountain in Binchuan, Dali, leave good blessings and feel the New Year's prayers there!
Jizu Mountain was formerly known as "Jiuqu Rock". The mountain has lush vegetation and a large number of rare animals and plants. The natural scenery is unique. Among them, the eight scenic spots and four views of Jizu Mountain are the most typical scenery, and the culture is also extremely profound.
Jizu Mountain is a century-old famous mountain in Dali and a thousand-year-old famous mountain in Buddhist culture.
The history and culture of Jizu Mountain began thousands of years ago. It is said that it is the place where Kasyapa respected one in meditation while keeping his clothes. Therefore, it occupies a very high position in Buddhist culture.
Because Jizu Mountain is closely related to Buddhist history and culture, there are many temples on the mountain. It took a hundred years to build the first temple from Jizu Mountain and develop into 108 temples.
Since the Ming and Qing Dynasties entered its heyday, the name of Jizu Mountain has spread far and wide, with an endless stream of people coming and going. The mountain is full of temples, with a total number of 108 and a permanent population of more than 5000.
It is the law of the development of things when it comes to prosperity. During its heyday, Jizu Mountain quickly turned from prosperity to decline. It was not until the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty that a person, Zen Master Xu Yun, appeared. He presided over the renovation and expansion of Zhusheng Temple and regarded the revitalization of Jizu Mountain as a lifelong undertaking. However, it did not contain the decline of Jizu Mountain.
Looking back at its long history, Jizu Mountain has gone through a century of ups and downs. From 108 temples in its heyday to more than 20 temples now, it has fallen to lows time and again and embarked on the road of rejuvenation.
Some of the 108 temples were destroyed by disrepair and some were destroyed by fire. The most complete temple is Zhusheng Temple, which has the style of ancient Qing Dynasty buildings.
Now, many ancient temples in Jizu Mountain have been rebuilt and restored on the original site. The renovated buildings are large in scale and magnificent.
In the new year, we climb Jizu Mountain with our families to pray, see the beautiful scenery of Jizu Mountain, and taste the century-old culture.
Entering 2021, under the attack of cold waves, many high mountains in Yunnan have welcomed snowfall. Changing its previous appearance, Jizu Mountain, as a place where it often snows in Yunnan, is also unknowingly welcoming auspicious snow!

The ancients said: In the year when the snow is auspicious, they regard snowfall as an auspicious sign of the year, so encountering the snow on the mountain climbing in the first month of 2021 is a double auspicious sign!
Climbing mountains and praying for blessings, the journey starts at the gate of Jizu Mountain!
The gate of Jizu Mountain seems to be a dividing line, and the feeling inside and outside the gate gives people completely opposite.
Outside the mountain gate is bustling and bustling, while inside the mountain gate is quiet and quiet, giving people peace of mind. A winding winding mountain road shuttles through the mountains, connecting most temples.
There are many ancient trees in the mountains, especially in the mountainside areas, where there are many century-old trees. Although the cores of the ancient trees are empty, their vitality is still tenacious.
There are constantly towering trees grown from small trees around the ancient trees. The temple building is shrouded in the shade of trees, making it even more simple.
Monkeys often haunt the mountains. Monkeys play on trees and roofs or come to find food. They are not afraid of people or hurt people. They will leave on their own when they see many people.
The temples on the mountainside are concentrated, with Zhusheng Temple as the center, and you can shuttle through various ancient temples along the path. The ancient temples have different styles and sizes, some are small and exquisite, while some are large and magnificent.
From the mountainside to the top of the mountain, temples are distributed in dots or strips. Visiting the ancient temples can be a combination of walking and taking tourist buses.
Starting from Shizhong Temple to the entrance of the cableway, the ancient temples are basically scattered on both sides of the winding mountain road, such as Biyun Temple, Pagoda Temple, Jiulian Temple, etc.

At the entrance of the cableway, the mountain climbing begins!
Most of the temples starting from the cableway entrance are distributed on the edge of the steep cliff and are concentrated.
A mountain path composed of walking steps can reach every attraction. The path is narrow and long, some pass through the mountains, and some shuttle through the dense forest.
Hiking along the path, we reached the steepest place in the mountains-the Temple of Kasyapa. The number of buildings gradually increased, which also indicated the official entry into the top of the mountain.
Kasyapa Hall is the most important place on Jizu Mountain. Although it is not large in area, it represents different meanings and is the source of Jizu Mountain culture.
The Hall of Kasyapa is a two-entrance courtyard. It is in the Ming and Qing Dynasties style, has few people and a good environment, has exquisite eaves, and the eaves are painted with colorful paintings of various colors, which is completely different from the feeling given by modern architecture.
Continuing to climb to the top of the mountain along the path, buildings such as the Bronze Tile Hall and the Guanyin Hall gradually appear. Shuttling through these buildings and climbing up the steps, you can see buildings after a period of walking, the most conspicuous of which is the half of a tower.
The tower body is hidden in the building, so the whole picture cannot be seen. The tower body is gray and white, which is very conspicuous among the colorful buildings. It passes through corridors and climbs to a platform with a wide view. When you see the three characters "Jinding Temple", you will reach the highest altitude of the chicken foot.
When visiting Jinding Temple, you will find that all the buildings in this temple are built on the highest platform at the top of the mountain, surrounded by cliffs.
The most unique buildings in the entire Jinding Temple are the dazzling Golden Hall and the Landmark of the Hump Route-Shangama Tower, which are not found in other temples.
The Jinding Temple is not large in area, but it has a lot of people to visit and is very popular. In front of the Jinding Temple and the Daxiong Hall are filled with people who come to pray.
Jinding Temple is also the best place to see the four views of Jizu Mountain. Watching the sunrise in the east, Xiangyun in the south, Canger in the west, and Yulong in the north. The four views of Jizu Mountain do not appear every day. Seeing the scenery requires fate, but as long as you see one of them, you will feel that it is more shocking than any grand building.
Arriving at Jinding Temple, I made a prayer for 2021 to the Golden Temple, and the trip officially ended.
