In July 2017, I stayed in Kunming for a short day due to a business trip. I only had half a day to visit Kunming's Mingzu Village. Unfortunately, the weather was rainy and the outdoor performances were cancelled. I only walked around and listened to ethnic customs. Explanation. I have always wanted to visit Lijiang/Dali since I came back. I heard that it is like spring all year round and picturesque. It was not until August today that the trip took place. Now I have returned from Dali for more than 10 days, but I feel like it happened a long time ago. So I thought it would be good to record it, at least to strengthen this bad memory.
I only made a rough reservation before going. If you stay in Lijiang for three nights, you can go to Lashihai, Yulong Snow Mountain, Lijiang Eternal Love, Mufu, Lijiang Ancient City, Shuhe Ancient Town, Heilongtan Park; stay in Lugu Lake for one night, and then go to Dali to see Cangshan Erhai Lake. In the end, only the following was achieved:
8/25: Riding horses in Lashihai and visiting the ancient city at night;
8/26: Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Blue Moon Valley, visit the ancient city at night
8/27: Mufu, Lijiang's everlasting love, continue to wander around the ancient city at night
8/28: Lugu Lake
8/29: Lugu Lake, ancient city of Dali
8/30: Three pagodas of Chongsheng Temple, Cycling on Erhai Lake, Xizhou
I flew from Shanghai to Lijiang on the night of 8/24. I only booked a B & B in the Ancient City of Lijiang for 3 days in advance. I waited until the situation later and decided on the rest. I thought I would travel freely anyway and go with the times. When we arrived at the accommodation place, we took a break and drank some tea made by the boss. It happened that several people staying in the B & B organized a group to go riding in Lashihai. Ha, we directly signed up and followed.
8/25 Riding in Lashihai
It is said that every family in the local area has horses. Perhaps because they used to travel through horse gangs and later developed tourism, the entire village was integrated into a racecourse with the ancient tea-horse road. It was really not easy to watch horses carry us up and down the mountain.
The weather was particularly good that day, with blue skies and white clouds. Because the weather was so good, the sun was so hot, and my legs felt so hot when riding. Therefore, everyone stopped rowing the cruise ship in the Lashi Haihou Package and went straight to the tea shed to drink afternoon tea. Chat, waiting for companions who went to Internet celebrity sites to queue up to take photos
8/26 Jade Dragon Snow Mountain + Blue Moon Valley
There are three cableways, large, medium and small cableways in Yulong Snow Mountain. Because the large cableway was out of maintenance, it was impossible to reach Glacier Park and the high point of 4680. Finally, I followed the suggestion of the B & B owner and took the small cableway to Yunshanping to see the scenery. At that time, I thought if a horse came, it would be very windy to gallop on the horse ~
After going down the mountain, take a battery car to check in at Blue Moon Valley. The water is super clear ~~
8/27 Lijiang Ancient City + Mufu
During the three days I stayed in Lijiang from the 25th to the 27th, I had to go through the streets and alleys in the ancient city every night, and then I took a different alley every time to return to the B & B. I never wanted to return the same way based on my memory ~~
The ancient city is full of B & Bs, restaurants and bars, and the big golden hair is almost standard for B & Bs. There are basically no people on the street in the morning, but at night, there are people everywhere: restaurants, bars, alleys, and bonfire parties on Sifang Street are also crowded in several circles.
I saw a magazine describing it as follows on the plane seat when I came back: "Lijiang should be associated with youthful vitality. This place where wandering artists and folk singers gather continues to interpret the freedom, romance, madness, and anxiety about youth. There are always countless people coming here to find answers about youth." Thinking of what I actually felt in the ancient city, it is really an extremely appropriate description.
There is a light show every night in Mufu, which seems to be performed every four or five minutes, for more than 6 minutes each time.
It was on the morning of the 27th when you entered the Mufu. After checking in, someone would guide you with a free explanation.
Standing on the upper floor of what seems to be the Wanjuan Tower, you can see the Yulong Snow Mountain in the distance.
8/27 Lijiang's eternal love
After visiting Mufu, I found a small restaurant at the entrance of Mufu, tasted Lijiang Baba and Chicken Bean jelly, and went to the eternal love date in the afternoon ~
From the ancient city to Lijiang, there is a free bus from the scenic area, which basically runs every 10 minutes. If you get on the bus at Bailong Square, it will only take you ten minutes. It's quite close. The seats I bought this time are quite good, and I can still feel the moisture during the performance.
The scenic spot ticket includes all the performances. Lijiang Love Song only has one performance every day. From almost 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., I went through all the programs in the scenic spot, and then returned to the edge of the ancient city Mufu to eat the long-planned ribs hot pot.

8/29 Lugu Lake
Lugu Lake is actually not far from the ancient city, but because it is all winding roads, it took almost half a day to leave in the morning and arrive at noon. According to many people on the Internet, traffic in the water is the most convenient, so I booked a room with a lake view here. It is by the lake. After checking in, I quickly go to the lake for a walk and take two photos, and then take a rest to prepare to surround the lake in the afternoon. Unfortunately, the sky changed since 2 o'clock. There were no blue sky and white clouds, and Rigge Island was dark when photographed, and then it started to rain. You can't even get out of the car. Go directly to the place where you eat, taste the women's wine that only women can drink, go to local people's homes to listen to the culture of walking marriage, and go to a bonfire party after dinner ~~
8/29 Lugu Lake
I set my alarm clock and had to get up early to watch the sunrise on Lugu Lake, but unfortunately I didn't see it because of the heavy rain. Fortunately, we finally stopped after 9 o'clock so that we could continue our trip around the lake
I passed by Princess Island on a cruise ship and said that the last Princess had lived here because it was impossible to go up for maintenance.
Go to the filming site of the dear inn. It is still open inside. You can't go in, just look outside the fence.
Walking through the sea of flowers, I heard from the boatman that because of the weather and the poor sunshine, there were not many aquatic poplar flowers blooming, otherwise this area would be blooming, which would be very beautiful.
When we arrived at Caohai Wedding Bridge, blue skies and white clouds came out again. If it had been sunny like this earlier, we might have seen the flowers blooming all over the lake.
8/30 Dali
Return to Lijiang from Lugu Lake at about 12 o'clock noon on the 29th, and then take a bus to Dali. When checking in, I talked with my boss about the itinerary. Due to the weather and time, I gave up Cangshan directly, and then asked the owner of the B & B to rent an electric car on my behalf and prepare to go around the Erhai Lake on the 30th. I also went to the ancient city of Dali at night. Maybe after passing through the bustle of the ancient city of Lijiang, I didn't feel much in comparison!
This cool little yellow duck sat in the front of the car and accompanied us from the ancient city to the three towers of Chongsheng Temple, along the Erhai Lake to Xizhou, and Xizhou to Caicun Wharf. After returning to the ancient city, we took a detour around Dali University for a whole day
Three pagodas of Chongsheng Temple, overlooking the Erhai Lake
Xizhou Ancient Town
Xizhou Ancient Town is a must-visit recommended by B & B owners. It has well-preserved Bai folk houses, as well as tie-dyed products that can be seen everywhere on the street. It is very beautiful. Eat and stroll along the way. Xizhou cake and jelly are very delicious. Friends who were traveling with me also bought a lot of clothes and forgot to take photos. The time was far beyond the planned time. In the end, there was not enough time to go to the famous double corridor. I went back to the city after five o'clock
Caicunmatou
It was very cloudy, and occasionally two drops of rain fell. I returned to the ancient city from Xizhou, turned to Caicun Wharf and walked around. Standing on the dock, the wind was blowing and cold enough to wear down jackets
Dali University
While having breakfast in the morning, I met an aunt who had brought her grandson over to accompany her daughter-in-law to graduate school. She said that Dali University was particularly good and had its back on Cangshan Mountain and facing the Erhai Lake. She was very curious, so she rode in the rain to the gate of Dali University to look around. It was indeed very imposing, and the mountain was filled with fairy air ~~
The rain was already falling heavily by this time. We held umbrellas and slowly rode back to the B & B. On the way, we passed the Gucheng Vegetable Market and went in to buy some pomegranates and grapes. For this rare time, we returned to our place before 20 o'clock, so we could make tea, eat fruits, and watch TV. The heavy rain continued until the 31st when we left Dali. Fortunately, it didn't fall before, otherwise we would have had to stare blankly in the hotel. What luck!
I heard from my boss that May is the most beautiful time on Cangshan every year, with flowers blooming like brocade. Maybe next time we can choose May and go straight to Dali to see the sea of flowers on Cangshan Mountain, the Erhai Lake on the side of the double corridors, and the sunrise and sunset on the Erhai Sea ~~
PS: 1. The ultraviolet rays there are really super strong, and the back of the exposed hands is sunburned. I have been back for more than ten days, but it is still very dark
, slight molting occurs, so sun protection must be in place. Sunscreens, sunscreen clothing, sunglasses, hats, and masks with the highest SPF are all essential
2. Tourism in Lijiang is really meticulous. Basically, as long as you book accommodation for the first stop, you don't have to worry about the next trip. Cars around the ancient city will pick up and drop off.
