Day 2 One-day trip to Erhai Lake

Apart from the ancient city of Dali, the most famous one in Dali is probably the Erhai Lake, which is named because its shape resembles a human ear. Located on the outskirts of Dali, Yunnan, it is the second largest freshwater lake in Yunnan Province. It was suitable for a week-long driving trip around the lake, so we chose to carpool for a trip. It saves time and is more cost-effective. I recommend this kind of travel for only a hundred yuan per person. There are many on third-party platforms. Just choose a reliable place to place an order, and the driver will contact you one day in advance. During the one-day trip, I visited several attractions, large and small, so I picked a few of the ones that impressed me more.

Day 3 Lijiang Ancient City

The Ancient City of Lijiang is located in the Ancient City of Lijiang City, Yunnan Province. It was built in the late Song Dynasty and early Yuan Dynasties. It is located on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, on a plateau platform under the Yulong Snow Mountain, with an altitude of 2416 meters and an area of 7.279 square kilometers. The ancient city is criss-crossed, with attractions such as Sifang Street, Mufu, Black Dragon Pool, Xueshan Academy, Fang Guoyu's former residence, and Gu Peter's former residence. Dali Ancient City-Lijiang Ancient City

You can choose a long-distance bus or train from Dali Ancient City to Lijiang Ancient City. The journey time is about the same, but you have to take the train from Dali Ancient City to Dali Station first, and then from Lijiang Station to Lijiang Ancient City. It is also troublesome to transfer multiple buses. Although the bus ticket is twice as expensive as the train ticket, you can go directly from the ancient city of Dali to the ancient city of Lijiang, point-to-point, and you can get there in just 3 hours of sleep. It should be noted that there are many options for starting and arriving at the gate, so see which gate you want to go to before buying a ticket.

Wanggulou

Wangulou is a landmark building in Lijiang. Dongba script means "Millennium Wandai Tower", and Naxi language means "Wengu Wheel", which means commanding heights and is homophonic for "Wangulou". Not only can you overlook the ancient city of Lijiang and its pastoral scenery, but when the weather is good, you can also look at the Wannian Glacier of the Yulong Snow Mountain.

Entering Wanguo Building, which has many floors, you can get a higher and better view when you walk up. If you just want to overlook the ancient city, you can also get the same view by buying a cup of coffee at the scenic cafe in a row near the entrance of the scenic spot. The only thing missing is the opportunity to enter Wangulou.

After leaving Lion Mountain, go to see the Daquan, which is also one of the famous check-in spots in the ancient city. It is located in a prosperous area and attracts tourists to take photos.

This time, we also chose a ride-sharing project on a third-party platform. The average person is 600 to 700 yuan, but it includes all the expenses such as meals, accommodation, tickets, etc. The eight-person group goes to Lugu Lake. Because it is more than 202 kilometers away from the Ancient City of Lijiang, the fastest drive takes about 4 hours, and the round trip takes a day, so it is recommended to choose a two-day tour. Admission to the scenic spot is 70 yuan, which is included in the total fee.

Day 5 Two-day Tour to Lugu Lake

The next day's itinerary is to visit small attractions such as Lovers 'Beach and walk along the lake.

If you leave and return at one or two in the afternoon, you will be able to return to the Ancient City of Lijiang by around six o'clock, which is exactly dinner time.

Day 6 One-day trip to Yulong Snow Mountain

The Yulong Snow Mountain is a snow-capped mountain group in Lijiang City, Yunnan Province. It is a rare snow-covered mountain range in the northern hemisphere. It is called "Tianshan" in Naxi. The main peak has a steep fan with a maximum altitude of 5596 meters, and thirteen snowy peaks are endless, like dragons flying in the sky, hence the name "Jade Dragon".

The snowy mountains must come well in winter. Almost all the snow in summer has melted, leaving only the bare top of the mountain. But now that they are here, the altitude of 4680 meters is still worth going up. The Yulong Snow Mountain is divided into large cableways and small cableways. The two types of tickets are sold separately. The large cableway is a ticket up to 4680 meters. However, the daily traffic limit on the snowy mountain is 10,000 people. It is difficult to get a ticket for the large cableway. It is best to go through a travel agency to get tickets. It is possible to have tickets, but tickets for small cableway are relatively easy to buy. The Yulong Snow Mountain is a high-altitude area that is prone to high altitudes. People with poor physique and heart disease should do within their capabilities and put safety first.

In order to ensure tickets, we had to choose a small third-party one-day tour group with guaranteed tickets, with an average of 500 to 600 yuan per person. The snowy mountains are not very far away from the ancient city, and it takes an hour or two to drive there.

Prepare the three-piece set for going up the mountain, and you can go up the mountain with a down jacket, oxygen cylinder, and mineral water (the three-piece set is a gift). The oxygen bottle is about 50 per bottle at the foot of the mountain and 100 per bottle at the top of the mountain, so it is recommended to buy it in advance if you need it.

The next step is to queue up to take the shuttle bus and head to the cableway. There are many people in the peak season, and the queue is a sea of people.

Get off the cableway, take the shuttle bus in the direction of Lanyue Valley, and get off at the second stop,"Shuiyue Pavilion". One of the few restaurants in the scenic area ate local chicken hot pot here.

Next to the Shuiyue Pavilion is the "Blue Moon Valley", another major attraction that cannot be missed in the Yulong Snow Mountain Scenic Area. The altitude here is low, so you can wear ordinary summer clothes, and there will be no high reflection. The water quality is crystal clear, presenting a light blue psychedelic texture, like a dream.

There is a vast plain at the foot of the snowy mountain. On the way to and from the snowy mountain, we stopped by to play on the way back. When the weather is good, we can see the vast panoramic view of the snowy mountain and take beautiful scenery photos here.

Yulong Snow Mountain-Shuhe Ancient Town

Finally, I ended the day's journey and returned to the Ancient City of Lijiang at about six o'clock. However, because we passed by the "Shuhe Ancient Town" along the road, we discussed with the tour guide and chose to get off the bus halfway and arrived at Shuhe Ancient Town.

The three ancient towns of Lijiang Ancient Town, Shuhe Ancient Town and Baisha Ancient Town have applied for world cultural heritage together, but they are not as full of commercial atmosphere as the ancient city of Lijiang. There are few people here, and there are still indigenous people living here, retaining the original cultural atmosphere of many ancient towns. Because there are few people, people can still be seen taking photos or wedding photos from time to time.

Shuhe Ancient Town is small in area, but it is different from the ancient city of Lijiang. It only took an hour or two to stroll around. Then we took a taxi back to the ancient city of Lijiang. It was only 20 to 30 taxi fare, which was very close.

Because I went to Shuhe Ancient Town, I was a little late after eating. You can also choose to eat in Shuhe Ancient Town. We returned to the ancient city of Lijiang to eat again.
