I can finally make time to share my self-driving trip to Yunnan with my Ctrip partners. I have had two self-driving experiences before, but I regret that I didn't record them in graphic form and share them with everyone. Although driving by yourself every time seems particularly difficult, I feel very happy to spend this self-driving time with my family. I will briefly describe this self-driving trip to Yunnan to my partners in graphic and graphic form.
The original travel plan was to rent a car and drive after arriving in Kunming on August 11. As a result, due to the impact of Typhoon Likima, all bullet trains departing from Wenzhou South on the morning of August 10 were suspended, and the bullet train ticket had to be cancelled on the evening of August 8.
Later, I decided to drive directly to Xiangtan City, Hunan Province, and then take a bullet train from Xiangtan City to Kunming City, Yunnan Province. The weather forecast has issued a typhoon warning that it will land head-on in Wenzhou and Taizhou areas at 9:00 a.m. on August 10. We finally chose to depart at 14:00 p.m. on August 9.
It was already windy and rainy when we set out. We passed the Shenhai-Haiyang Expressway, Wenli Expressway, and Shanghai-Kunming Expressway, and first stayed in Xiangtan City, Hunan Province for one night.
At 3:40 am on August 10, we arrived in Xiangtan City, Hunan Province. After arriving in Xiangtan, we discussed and decided to drive directly to Yunnan. We rested for a few hours in Xiangtan City and continued to rush to the next resting place, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, at 14:30 p.m.., we arrived at the second stop, Guiyang City, and stayed in Guiyang for one night.
At 16:00 pm on August 11, we finally arrived at the self-driving destination of Kunming City, Yunnan Province. We started from Zhejiang Province and passed through Jiangxi Province, Hunan Province, and Guizhou Province. The mileage was 2500 kilometers and took 26 hours. The moment they arrived in Kunming City, the whole family was particularly excited. Because our plan to drive to Sanya, Hainan during the Spring Festival in 2018 finally ended in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, which is a little regrettable. Being able to complete a longer distance self-driving this time is a success. At the same time, our friends arrived at Kunming Changshui International Airport at 15:40 pm on August 11. After meeting, we officially started our Yunnan parent-child self-driving tour.
Our self-driving tour officially began on August 11th.
DAY.1(August 11)
On the first day, our itinerary was to go to Nanping Pedestrian Street in Kunming City and choose to stay inXiu Hotel(Kunming Shanhafang Store). Considering the parking problem on the pedestrian street, we took the subway at Tuodong Gymnasium Station (Metro Line 3) across the road from the hotel and got off at Wuyi Road Station. After Wuyi Station, Nanping Pedestrian Street is located. We are at the top of the 100 new worldsNiangziqing Original Yunnan Crossing the Bridge NoodlesEating a bowl of cross-bridge rice noodles certainly cannot escape the fate of queuing. At night, we arrived at Nanqiang Street. If Nanping Street is a modern pedestrian street, then Nanqiang Street is an old street with contemporary significance. It has a long history, and there are various online celebrity shops gathered here. You might as well explore it with your friends.
DAY.2 (August 12)
Driving 90 kilometers, we arrived at Chuxiong Lufeng World Dinosaur Valley Ruins Park, which is very suitable for parent-child tours. Let children better realize that Lufeng Dinosaur Valley plays a pivotal position among the world's dinosaur fossil sites. It is recommended that parents with children choose sightseeing buses without taking them, so that their children can learn more about dinosaur fossils in a limited time.
After visiting the Dinosaur Valley Ruins Park, we started to rush to the next stop, Chuxiong Yi Ancient Town. The park is nearly 90 kilometers away from the ancient town. After following the Baidu map or Gaode map and getting off the highway, you will find the ancient town. The ancient town is very close to the highway exit. We booked a folk custom shop in the ancient town through Ctrip. com-Jimo Jiujianfang Inn, which is a courtyard inn, which gives people a very comfortable feeling. The ancient town is open and does not need to pay any fees. In the evening, we went to a restaurant run by Tibetan compatriots and had a Tibetan specialty yak hot pot. The Tibetan owner told us that the restaurant had been in operation for more than 20 years. It tasted very good and was worth your taste. After dinner, we walked along the busiest part of the ancient town to the square of the ancient town. There were not many foreign tourists on the road. The majority are mainly local and surrounding tourists. Therefore, the roads in the ancient town do not seem particularly crowded. An open-air performance will be held in the center of Guzhen Square at 20:00 p.m., where you can dance Yi dances with local uncles and aunts.
DAY.3 (August 13)
The ancient town was very quiet in the morning. Under the guidance of the person in charge of the inn, we went to eat a bowl of authentic noodles, which was large and cheap. Next, we have to rush to Dali, which we have always longed for, because there is the romantic love of the ancient city of Dali, the majesty of Cangshan Mountain and the vastness of Erhai Lake. The distance from the ancient Yi people in Chuxiong to the ancient city of Dali is 300 kilometers. After leaving Chuxiong, I obviously felt that the altitude was rising and the road was climbing for a long time. Therefore, my friends must pay attention to safety when driving, keep a distance, and control the speed. In the event of a traffic accident, it will bring shadow and displeasure to the entire self-driving tour. At 13:00 p.m., we arrived at a Bai restaurant near the ancient city of Dali and had an authentic Bai cuisine, but the feeling it gave me was very ordinary. After lunch, we arrived at the site not far from the restaurant, SM Shimo Art Designer Internet Celebrity B & B. After driving all morning, we rested in our room. In the evening, we set off for the ancient city of Dali. Try not to drive when going to the ancient city because it is very troublesome to find a location. So we chose to take the small four-wheel drive. The money must be earned by the master driving the small four-wheel drive. The main reason is that we also have a few children with us.
DAY.4 (August 14)
Today we will start driving around the Erhai Lake. I felt good standing close to the Erhai Lake for the first time. We follow the sea route around the Erhai Lake to the ancient city of Dali, Shunhe Ancient Town, and Shuanglang Ancient Town. There are many hotels next to the Erhai Lake. The shops line up long tables, glass balls, and various rented costumes at the door. For tourists to take photos. At this moment, I feel that the Internet celebrity photos are all scams and have been greatly discounted. The first stop came to Xizhou Ancient Town and called a carriage. But when they find out that the stabler here is pulling you to the shopping spot and you ask him to take you where you want to go, they will look unhappy. With a long sigh, the commercialization of Dali has completely changed our group's beautiful illusions about Dali. We soon left Xizhou Ancient Town and rushed to Shuanglang Ancient Town, planning to stay in Shuanglang Ancient Town for another night. When we drove through Shuanglang Ancient Town, it was really crowded with people. Coupled with the inflated hotel price, we chose to leave Dali on the same day.
We continued to drive to Baoshan City that afternoon. Many people would ask why we didn't choose to go to Lijiang or Shangri-La. Because we were taking children with us and were worried that the children would have a high reaction, we chose to go south to Baoshan City because there were more attractions suitable for children there. Most of the high-speed kilometers from Dali City to Baoshan City are built on mountains or in valleys, so we must strictly control the speed and put safety first. In the evening, we were at a restaurant in Baoshan City Had dinner. At the dinner table, I looked at the weather in Tengchong and found that it had rained for the past three days, in order not to affect Tengchong's tourism plans. We continued south to Mang City in Dehong. It was already 22:00 p.m. when we arrived in Mang City, and we booked the Haizhou Hotel in Mang City in advance.
DAY.5(August 15)
On cloudy days, we drove to the Baisi Food Court in Mang City. The square was small but there was a famous Menghuan Lao Milk Cold Drink Shop inside. We ordered a cold drink to soak Luda. You must drink freshly squeezed juice in Mang City. If you drink it, you will earn it. During lunch, I saw that the weather was good, so I arranged to go to Heishan Laopo in the afternoon. Heishan Laopo is deep in the mountains and is a very small tourist attraction. When going to Laopo, Heishan, I passed the famous Shubao Tower attraction in Mang City (free visit). After passing through a smooth ground road, we began to head towards the mountains. On the way, I saw the traces left by the landslide for the first time. The farther we drove up the mountain, the worse the weather became. Fog surrounded the top of the mountain and light rain began to fall at the same time. Arriving at the scenic spot parking lot, there is a Laopo restaurant, which is very original. In order to get back as soon as possible, we ordered a large pot of noodles in the store, and we were alone that day. Due to the excessive fog, it is a pity that it is impossible to view the beautiful scenery in the distance from the scenic area. The rain began to slowly get heavier, so we quickly finished eating the noodles and returned to Mang City. Before nightfall, we arrived at the Shwedagon Pagoda Scenic Area in Mang City.
DAY.6 (August 16)
The weather is sunny and cloudy. Today, we went to the beautiful border town of Ruili. The first time we learned about Ruili was through a travel program, which talked about Ruili's stone gambling and Taobao Valley. Later, I met Dai classmates from Ruili while in college. After arriving in Ruili, I went straight to the first scenic spot, Yizhai and Shuangguo. This happens to be a customs clearance port. Every day, people from northern Myanmar come to China to work. There is nothing special about the attraction, just to go in and experience the lasting friendship between countries. At noon, we chose a Burmese restaurant, Bubugao Cold Drink Shop. It was very authentic. Many Burmese people worked in it. The owner was Burmese but could speak fluent Chinese. During lunch, I checked various attractions in Ruili and thought of Taobao Valley. I contacted my classmate to learn about Taobao Ancient Things, but he suggested that we not go. Because this has been open for many years, and the mosquitoes in the valley and the water quality of the river will affect human skin, we finally decided to go to Tengchong City, our next stop after dinner. This time, we chose to take the Tenglong Highway because we didn't do a good job. I encountered three border inspections along the way, which greatly affected the time. When undergoing inspection, you must roll down the window in advance, prepare your driver's license or ID card, and politely answer questions from border guards. Basically, you won't ask too much even with children, mainly because the queue time is too long. Passengers on the bus need to get off the bus for inspection, which reflects the arduous and responsible work of the border defense work, and the border defense officers and soldiers are armed with live ammunition and are ready for battle. I salute you!! Arrived in Tengchong at 18:00 p.m. and wanted to go to Shunhe Ancient Town for dinner, but was stopped and said that there would be a charge. Very speechless, I directly gave up the attractions here. Later, after consulting the information, I found out that it was a routine. There was no need to buy tickets to the ancient town. Tickets were only needed for a few attractions inside. Then I found an antique restaurant Qiaoxiang Zhai, and drove to toot Inn in Ginkgo Village, Tengchong after dinner. The inn is in a ginkgo village that is still under development. The inn is a small courtyard house transformed from the houses of two amiable retired teachers. There are several large ginkgo trees in the courtyard. If autumn passes, the scenery will be more beautiful and especially suitable for photography enthusiasts.
DAY.7 (August 17)
The weather is fine, so I arranged to ride a volcano hot air balloon today. The opening of hot air balloons depends on the weather of the day and is only open in the morning. The price is small, so since you are here, you can't miss it. The main reason is to allow children to see the beautiful scenery of the Tengchong Crater on a hot air balloon. It takes about 10 minutes to get up and down. Then hike up a small extinct volcano and take a closer look at the crater of the extinct crater. After the play, we took the children to visit the Tengchong Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall to let the children understand that sad history. The Chinese Expeditionary Force entered Myanmar for the first time and returned to China at the Wild Man Mountain. Tens of thousands of Chinese people died in foreign countries for the anti-Japanese cause. The inhuman Japanese invaders committed all kinds of evil on the land of Asia. Visiting the memorial hall is a good patriotic education for the children. At noon, we found a nearby hot pot restaurant and had a delicious Sichuan-style hot pot meal. In the afternoon, we are going to Tengchong's Rehai Scenic Area, the pure natural sulfur hot springs. At the same time, I saw egg skewers from one of the eighteen monsters in Yunnan selling. I bought egg skewers and steamed them in the hot pot at the highest point of the scenic area. To eat good eggs is to soak in the hot spring. Done, we arrived at a left-passenger hotel with a super high value for money.
DAY.8 (August 18)
The weather was fine and the Tengchong tour ended. In the morning, we started from Tengchong and took the highway to the beautiful Xishuangbanna. Going to Xishuangbanna and choosing to take the surface road is the first to arrive at Wengding, the last primitive part of China, of the Wa people. I have been driving on the road all day and arrived at the small town of Mengding in the evening. When we went to Mengding for border inspection, we consulted a beautiful border inspection lady. She recommended a very authentic Dai restaurant-Zaiyishao Dai Flavor Manor. The manor is a large courtyard, and many trees in the courtyard block the sunlight, giving it a unique flavor. After dinner, we drove to Mengding Town and stayed at the Gengma Hongbo International Hotel, which is the best hotel in the town.
DAY.9 (August 19)
Cloudy, after breakfast. We were about to set out, and downstairs we met a military doctor who had come from Kunming, the provincial capital, to carry out a mission. After understanding them, they returned to Kunming after carrying out border patrol missions. The children looked awed when they saw Uncle Jun. We are about to move towards Wengding, the last primitive tribe in China. Due to rainy weather in summer, the road is not easy to walk, and the traces left by various landslides and mudslides on the mountain road have not yet been repaired. However, we are particularly lucky that the road is not tight. The distance from Mengding to Wengding was only 100 kilometers, and it took us nearly 4 hours to reach our destination. When we arrived in Wongdin, a new check-in hall and parking lot were under construction and were expected to be commercialized soon. The construction of a new settlement in the village has been completed, and the old village will be turned into a national protected attraction and open to tourists. Tickets are 50 yuan/person, and children will not charge tickets. At the entrance of the tribe, Wa compatriots stood on both sides and sang a welcome ceremony. It was originally planned to stay in a hotel in the department, but the owner of the store was holding a soul summoning ceremony and was closed. We ate a big pot of noodles elsewhere and then toured the village. I visited Wa Wangfu (hereditary system)/head pile and bought a lot of local medicinal herbs. After the tour, we continued to set off for Lancang Hailan Hotel. We arrived at the hotel around 22:00 p.m. and had a barbecue at the roadside stall in front of the hotel.
DAY.10 (August 20)
The weather is fine, after breakfast. Set off for the beautiful Xishuangbanna, and the next few days will be more leisurely. We drove 165 kilometers along the Xijing Line for 4 hours and finally arrived at the beautiful Gaozhuang in Xishuangbanna. At noon, we found a special restaurant in Gaozhuang-Nepal Restaurant. After lunch, we checked into a special hotel-Xishuangbanna Tadong 36 Resort Hotel. There is a small swimming pool downstairs. After checking in, we each went back to our rooms to rest, and then took the children downstairs for a swim. In the evening, we went to Thai Xiangli Thai Restaurant to eat Thai food. Before eating, I bought Lao iced coffee recommended by Internet celebrities. The coffee was placed in a plastic bag and the taste was really great. After we sent the children back to our room, we came out and found a foot bath shop-Aini Foot, which was extremely cost-effective and had particularly good service. A happy day ended after pedicure.
DAY.11 (August 21)
The weather is fine. When we take the children to Xishuangbanna Primeval Forest Park, we must remember to take the tour bus as much as possible with the children. When entering the scenic area, the first viewing point is a large-scale outdoor performance in the courtyard. The performance can also be watched after you come out of the tour, which is particularly exciting. Then we took the tour bus. After arriving, we passed through a forest path, but we had to pay special attention to wearing long pants. It is inevitable that there will be small reptiles in the virgin forest. We saw a snake in the stream by the trail. Everyone was so scared that they rushed forward and continued to walk inside. We came to the Jungle Leap. This activity must involve children to participate, expand outdoor sports, and feel the power of nature. All equipment and facilities are connected from tree to tree, which can improve children's confidence and courage. We adults took photos for them, and they had a great time. After the tour, we went to the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, which is very suitable for children to learn science. We must stay at the Wanglian Hotel in the Botanical Garden. When staying at the hotel, we can drive in from the east gate, which can save on tickets to the scenic spot. The purpose is to visit the plants and experience the gathering of insects at night. Only hotel tourists receive this treatment, because the scenic area is closed at night. There are no lights in the park, and black paint requires mobile phones or flashlights to illuminate it. After dark, the children were particularly excited to see fireflies. Geckos, mantis, millipedes, snails and other small reptiles can be seen everywhere on the walls of the hotel. The scenic area is divided into east and west areas. The west area is the location of the hotel and is artificially developed. The Eastern District is the most primitive place, undeveloped and original. As we only stayed for one night, it was a bit regrettable.
DAY12. (August 22)
The weather was fine and I reluctantly left the Botanical Garden. We returned to the city and headed for the Wild Elephant Valley. Unfortunately, Asian wild elephants only returned down the mountain to the valley during the estrus period in February every year, so we had no way to see the wild elephants. However, we saw the arrowhead that the children had been waiting for. The leaves of the arrowhead were covered with many large black caterpillars, which looked particularly scary. Arriving at the elephant performance, we asked the children to ride elephants and take photos. Soon we finished our trip to Wild Elephant Valley and returned to Gaozhuang in Xishuangbanna. We had an authentic roast chicken-Manfeilong Roast Chicken, and ordered the set meal just like hand-pilaf rice. After eating, we returned to the hotel to rest. After midnight, we went to eat street barbecue. We were really disappointed. It was salty and terrible.
DAY13. (August 23)
The weather is fine, and today we are leaving Xishuangbanna and returning to Kunming. Before returning to Kunming, we went to the fruit market in Xishuangbanna-Mange Market. The market wholesale various tropical fruits, which were cheap and delicious. We bought Thai pomelo, peaches (Yunnan peaches are particularly delicious), Maoshan King durian, and Taimang. Along the way, I ate fruits and walked to Kunming. We originally planned to stay at Panda Manor in Pu 'er for one night, but after seeing the animals and plants, we canceled the trip. However, we did not drive directly to Kunming City, but stayed at the Ramada Plaza Hotel Fuxian Lake for one night. The purpose is to eat a special steamed pot fish. There is a fish boss (a 30-year-old restaurant) next to the hotel, which is really delicious and cheap. After dinner, we rested early in our room, and our trip was coming to an end.
DAY14. (August 24)
The weather was fine and I left the hotel. We are about to bring this self-driving tour to a successful conclusion. In order to let the children relive the ethnic minority compatriots they saw during this trip, we came to Yunnan Ethnic Village. In the scenic area, we visited a total of 17 ethnic minorities. Ethnic cultural customs and unique housing structure. I watched large-scale ethnic stage plays and tasted the special delicacies of the ethnic snack street. After the tour, we left the scenic area and went to Kunming's Zhuanxin Farmers 'Market. Next, it was the women's home court. They bought fruits, fresh chestnuts, and today's protagonist, Matsutake. The operation actually took 3 hours. I was really tired, and the children ate while walking. After leaving the market, our family would say goodbye to our friends. In the evening, I booked them at the airport hotel. We have to fly back tomorrow morning. We leave for home tomorrow morning.
Finally, I will make a simple route summary of this self-driving parent-child tour:
Kunming (Xiu Hotel, Nanping Pedestrian Street)--Chuxiong (Ink·Jiujianfang Inn, World Dinosaur Valley Heritage Park/Ancient Yi Town)--Dali (SM Shimo Art Designer Internet Celebrity B & B, Dali Ancient City/Xizhou Ancient Town)--Mang City (Haizhou Hotel, Heishan Laopo/Da Jinta/Shubao Tower)--Ruili (Ruili Port/Two Countries and Yizhai)--Tengchong (Yinxing Village toot Inn/Zuoyou Inn, Heshun Ancient Town/Volcanic Geothermal National Geopark/Rehai Scenic Area/National War Cemetery/Yuechun Hot Spring Village)--Gengma (Hongbo International Hotel)--Lincang (Wengding Primitive Tribe)-Lancang (Hailan Hotel)--Xishuangbanna (Wanglian Hotel)
I hope this self-driving tour guide will bring joy to friends who are going to Yunnan for a free trip!
