preface

The rainy weather in Jiangnan for several weeks made people feel wet and cold, making me like a migratory bird eager to seek the warm south to spend the winter. So when my child finished the exam, I couldn't wait to pack up and go to Chaoshan, the legendary food paradise. As the travel day was approaching the Spring Festival, it was impossible to buy a return ticket, so I decided to move to Guangzhou again and return from Guangzhou. On January 11th, we set off!

itinerary

D1: Hometown--Chaoshan Station--Chaozhou

Although it was the high-speed train at 9:42 a.m., considering that the Spring Festival was entering, there would be a lot of people, so we arrived at the high-speed train station at 8:15 as planned. As soon as we got off the bus, as expected, there was a long queue at the entrance. It took us nearly an hour just to enter the station. This was the first time we had experienced the Spring Festival. It really deserves its reputation!

It took more than seven hours to finally arrive at Chaoshan Station. I was ready to take the k2 to get off at Chaozhou Central Hospital and arrive at the inn near Paifang Street. It is still recommended that everyone take the k1, because the k1 is purchased at the station, so there are many and convenient cars. On the other hand, the K2 bus had to go in the direction of the bus parking lot and go around to the bus stop outside to wait for the bus. Moreover, the number of buses was so low that we waited for a full 40 minutes! The k2 bus is charged in sections. The high-speed railway station to Chaozhou Central Hospital is 8 yuan per person. It is about an hour's drive. You can scan the code through Alipay to pay, but you must first receive the electronic bus card. The driver will enter the price, and then you can scan the code to pay. It's okay.

After getting off the bus, we walked about 300 meters to reach this Muyang Inn located in the alley. The decoration of this inn is very literary and artistic, reflecting the slow life of Chaozhou people. The room is on the first floor, there is also a bed on the second floor, and there is a small balcony upstairs, which is nice.

Muyang Inn

After a short rest, we went out for a walk. My mother said we wanted to eat light, so we found a random porridge shop to eat some. When I came back, I bought sugar and onion pancakes at the snack shop next to the inn for 8 yuan each. The spring roll skin was wrapped with sesame sugar and maltose rolls, plus sugar crisps that melted immediately in the mouth, and a little coriander. Roll them up and eat, wow! The taste is really good. It can be regarded as the first specialty snack in Chaoshan!

D2: Chaozhou West Lake--Han Wengong Temple--Guangji Bridge--Xu Fu Mansion--Paifang Street--Guangji Tower Light Show

I woke up naturally in the morning, and I felt a little cold when I woke up. When I opened the window, waves of cool wind came in. The temperature was not as warm as I imagined! After searching the Internet, I decided to start today's trip at the Zhenji Beef Offal Shop near my residence.

Zhenji beef offal

Don't look at the decoration or the boss, just look at the ingredients are still good. Beef kway teow rice noodle noodles are 20 for small portions, 25 for large portions, and pork is 5 yuan cheaper. We ordered beef offal kway teow soup, and it tasted good! If the store is renovated, I think my appetite will be better!

Chaozhou West Lake

We followed the navigation and came to the West Lake in Chaozhou. We entered from Hongqiao, passed the Living Man Cave, and saw the cliff stone carvings. From the north gate, we happened to encounter Xie Huailiang almond tea. We ordered six yuan black sesame seeds and five yuan white sesame seeds, and fried tofu. Two yuan, I feel that the black sesame seeds are more fragrant.

Black and white sesame tea

After eating, I saw a rice noodle shop next to me. I couldn't help but order another beef rice noodle. There were beef and cilantro eggs, and sprinkled with sauce. It tasted great!

We took a taxi to Han Wengong Temple and exchanged tickets with our ID card to enter. There is the Han Yu Memorial Hall, Han Yu oak, etc., climbing many stairs, and the scenery is average.

Then, we took a taxi to Guangji Bridge and paid a bridge fee of 10 yuan per person to visit the bridge. People over the age of 60 here are free of charge with their ID cards!

guangji bridge

We thought that we could go across the bridge to find food on the opposite side. Unexpectedly, due to the strong winds and waves, the pontoon bridge deck was disconnected and was not open. We had to go back and take a taxi to find food. I heard that when I arrive in Chaozhou, Guantang Original Sashimi is a must-visit place.

It was already past 1 o'clock in the afternoon when we arrived at the store, but the store was still full. We ordered medium portions of grass carp sashimi, iced blood clams, salty crab paste, fish porridge, sea urchin sashimi and salmon sashimi, but later told that the two sashimi had been sold out. Although we left some regrets, we were all secretly happy because everyone was about to support the wall. These dishes are 238 yuan, which is not bad for cost performance. Later, I discovered that there is a group purchase price for grass carp and fish sashimi. You can go and have a look first!

Chaozhou Yusheng

After dinner, we prepared to walk to Xu's son-in-law's Mansion. Only then did he discover that he had passed through Chaozhou West Lake and discovered another branch of Zhenji Beef Offal Store.

After walking for about twenty minutes, I finally arrived at the legendary son-in-law Mansion. Tickets for the son-in-law Mansion are 20 per person, half price for students, and free for people over 60 years old.

The threshold at the entrance of Xu Fuma Mansion is super high

Xu Fuma Mansion is the mansion of Xu Yu, the son-in-law of Princess De 'an, the great-granddaughter of Taizong in the Northern Song Dynasty, and the great-grandson of Xu Shen, one of the "Eight Sages of Chaozhou" in the Tang and Song Dynasties. It sits north and faces south, with three entrances and five rooms. There is actually a bamboo gray wall on the wall, which is praised by experts as "a rare Song Dynasty mansion building in China" and one of the "Three Treasures of Chaozhou Ancient Architecture".

After visiting for about an hour, we came out. The son cried that he was tired, so he decided to walk back to the inn to rest, preparing to come out for food and watch the light show at night. On the way back, I bought another rat shell cake on Dayin Street. There were glutinous rice fillings, taro fillings, and sesame fillings. The salty one is 3 yuan, and the sweet one is 3.5 yuan. It is very chewy and delicious!

Various kinds of cakes

After taking a nap in the inn for a while, I was ready to turn to Paifang Street. When the inn went out, I turned left and walked straight to see the street where the archway was.

Historically, there were 91 archways in Chaozhou, most of which were established during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. There were 22 ancient archways that were later restored. There are 20 archways on this Taiping Road, basically two pillars and one door or four pillars and three doors. The lettering on each archway is different, representing different historical cultures and backgrounds, and is even more majestic against the backdrop of the lights. The archways on the entire street are lined up like long dragons and are powerful. They are a must-see for tourists and sightseeing in Chaozhou.

Visit the century-old store-Hu Rongquan Paifang Street Branch.

Hu Rongquan Paifang Street Branch

When we arrived, the store was already cleaning. There were only spring rolls left in the store. However, we only bought four spring rolls for 3 yuan each.

Hu Rongquan's Spring Rolls

Paifang Street is worthy of being a special scenic spot. It is clean and unique, and the night view is particularly beautiful. We ate and ate along the way. The characteristic licorice fruit costs 20 yuan per catty. The crispy bala is very delicious! Beef meatballs, 5 yuan a string, and Q bombs are chewy!

Ancient sea stone flowers cost 20 yuan a bowl. There are red beans, sea stone flowers. I heard that it is a kind of seaweed, almonds, taro balls, fairy grass, dragon fruit, etc. The ingredients are sufficient, but they are a little more expensive and delicious! I also found a sugar water shop and ordered special snacks, such as pork knuckle rings, glutinous rice pork intestines, duck mother twist, and a cup of mango juice. The duck mother twist was delicious, but everything else was average, so satisfying!

Finally, go through the sewer door, come to Guangji Building, and go to the Guangji Bridge beside the river to watch the light show! I heard that there is a game at 8 o'clock every day, and there is another game at 9 o'clock on Saturdays and Sundays. The dynamic music coupled with the changing lights fully exerted the majestic momentum of Guangji Bridge. Although it only lasted for 15 minutes, we had to occupy the position before 7:30, and it was still worth it after being blown by the wind for nearly an hour.

D3: Chaozhou Hanshanglou (Fenghuang Island Park)--Jieyang--Jieyang Rongjiang West Lake--Jinxianmen--City God Temple--Jieyang Xuegong--Jieyang Building--Chaozhou--Paifang Street

Hearing that the landlord introduced Han Shanglou's morning tea was good, he fulfilled his promise when he was studying that he would use the money he earned to invite his parents to have morning tea, and spent a lot there. We took a taxi from the inn for 14 yuan. A tall hotel came into view.

Han Shanglou

Walking into the lobby, a waiter led us to the second floor to sit down, and then served the menu. There was no price on the menu, but it was divided into categories. There were different grades such as Korean, Hao, Mei, and Jia, representing different prices.

Ginseng shrimp dumpling king, there are estimated to be 3 to 4 large shrimps inside, with thin skin and tender shrimp, and caviar outside, which has endless aftertaste; coconut cake is sweet and glutinous; red rice sausage is quite distinctive, with shrimp inside and crispy taste. It's delicious!

Boat porridge is a common food in Hong Kong operas. It is cooked in a casserole. It has squid, fried dough sticks, lettuce, peanuts and many other ingredients. It tastes good.

Black gold quicksand bun has a golden pattern on the black skin and a quicksand filling made of salted egg yolk inside. It tastes super good.

The Filipino durian bun looks like durian on the outside and smells like durian on the inside. It is also made into quicksand stuffing, but the taste is average.

We eat the meringue snow clams by pressing the meringue into the stew below. They feel many times better than the ones in our hometown cafeteria. However, this waiting time is relatively long.

I have to say that the fritters here are about 30 centimeters long and about 10 centimeters wide. Can you imagine their huge size? Enough for the four of us!

Poplar branch nectar looks very thick. Because I am allergic to mangoes, I didn't taste it personally. I heard that the grapefruit inside is a little sour, so it feels average.

Han Shanglou Morning Tea

I searched the Internet when it was time to pay the bill. Since it was a weekday, I could still use coupons. The receipt shows 218 yuan, plus the tea seat fee of 5 yuan per person, the total original price is 238 yuan. After using the voucher, the actual payment is 208 yuan. You can search for it yourself and try your luck!

Han Shanglou Menu

After morning tea, we spent about ten yuan taking a taxi to Yueyun Bus Terminal, and took the 10:10 bus to Jieyang. The drive took about an hour and ten minutes. In fact, I passed by Jieyang Tower and Jieyang Square on the way there, but I didn't dare to ask the driver to stop, so I got off at Jieyang Bus Terminal. After getting off the bus, we looked at the map and found that there were many attractions near the station, so we started today's trip from Rongjiang Park next to it.

Rongjiang Park is not big and can be walked in ten minutes. It is a place where local people drink tea, chat and dance square dances. It has no special features. You can see a city gate further forward. This is the Gate of Jinxian.

When you go out and turn right, you will see KFC on the corner. If you go in there, you will find a pedestrian street. There is McDonald's there. We bought coffee and ice cream there and took a short rest. Next to McDonald's is Jieyang Academy. Unfortunately, it is closed on Mondays and Fridays. Today is Monday, so I can't get in, so I can only take a look at the appearance. Moving forward, you will find the City God Temple. Next to it is the Lei Temple. The incense of the two families is very prosperous, and many good men and women come to pray piously and worship Buddha for peace of mind.

Further ahead is Shuangfeng Temple. We had limited physical strength, so we didn't go. When we walked back, we saw Jieyang Square. The three stone statues of Confucius and his disciples were located in the middle of the square, highlighting the spirit of Chaozhou People's Congress and Ren Dao. Further forward was Jieyang Academy.

Jieyang Square and Jieyang Academy

We waited for a while at the bus stop diagonally opposite KFC, ready to take a bus to Jieyang Tower. You can go to Route 6, Route 9, and 10 here. We took Route 9 there and it took about 15 minutes.

Jieyang Tower is worthy of being a landmark building in Jieyang. It is majestic and majestic. There is also a bronze square tripod in front of the tower, which is said to be the largest and heaviest in the country.

Jieyang Tower Square covers a very large area and has a wide view, which adds a bit of charm to the atmosphere of Jieyang Tower.

Jieyang

After the visit, it was already past one o'clock. I remembered that I hadn't had lunch yet, so I searched for a snack bar with rave reviews on the Internet. We took a taxi and found this humble shop-Xinhe Old Traditional Snack Shop.

When we went there, we saw that many local people were also buying there. I ordered a lot of Chaozhou snacks here to comfort our tired hearts after walking for a long time.

I have never seen these snacks before, let alone eat them. They taste really good and are cost-effective. I only spent a total of 68 yuan. I ate them well. I highly recommend them!

We took a taxi to the bus station and took the minibus back to Chaozhou. Tickets here can be changed because we arrived at the waiting hall early, so we changed our tickets. We returned early without any handling fees!

After returning to Chaozhou, we walked to the inn, took a short rest, and rushed to Paifang Street to make up for the regrets left by yesterday and taste Abin Beef Hotpot. It only takes about fifteen minutes to walk to the inn. I could already feel the excitement inside at the door.

It is said that eating beef should go from lean to fat. The beef here is not the simple snowflake beef we call it there. It is based on the different parts of the beef, including tender meat, three-flower-toed, spoon handle, spoon kernel, hanging dragon companion, chest rib, etc. The specific one that is delicious depends on personal preference! The classic mixture here is 70 percent abin sand tea paste and 30 percent peanut butter. It is a perfect match, and the taste is really beyond words!

On the way back, I bought licorice fruit again. This time, it cost 15 yuan a catty. I felt that the quality was not as good as the day before, but I added mulberry fruits, which was good!

D4: Chaozhou--Shantou-Nan'ao Island--Tropic of Cancer--Beach

Today is a tiring day. In the morning, I went to Wu Jinping Snack Store and bought spring rolls for 2 yuan each, taro cakes for 2 yuan each, and bamboo cakes for 1.5 yuan each. On the street outside, I bought soy milk and boiled eggs for 4 yuan a bowl, and added two fried dough sticks for 1.5 yuan a bowl.

There is Ximen Ancient Station across the road from the snack shop. You can buy tickets and get off at Shantou China Travel Bus Station. The ticket price is 20, and the bus service usually runs every 30 minutes. The ticket office and waiting hall are in a supermarket on the left side of the station.

We took the bus at 9:40 and arrived in Shantou before about 11:00. When we got out of the China Travel Bus Station, we were opposite the Overseas Chinese Building Bus Station. We took Bus No. 24, which cost two yuan, and got off at Longhu Village North Station. We transferred to Line 161B to the Visitor Center Station, and then transferred to Line 601 to the Tropic of Cancer Bus Station. We took the 161 and took another long journey. We checked into the apartment at 2 p.m.

The Blue Sea and Blue Sky Apartment we lived in is a garden and villa area. We lived in a high-rise apartment. The environment was very nice and quiet. We could still see the sea from the master bedroom. It takes two or three minutes to walk to the beach, next to the Tropic of Cancer sign, and there are seafood stalls nearby, which makes us all happy.

Nan'ao Island Blue Sea and Blue Sky Private Garden Apartment
Nan'ao Island Tropic of Cancer symbol

We couldn't wait to walk to the beach and make a concave appearance. The only downside is that the beach is too windy and a little cold to go into the water.

After playing for a while, we went to the Alai Small Fried Seafood Stall, which has a good reputation. We bought a dozen raw oysters for 12 yuan and a set meal for 168 yuan online. There were salt-and-pepper shrimp, special fried stone crab, steamed scallops, gracileiba fish ball soup, stir-fried fish shells, steamed oysters, cabbage, etc. We added four hairy clams for 5 yuan each, seaweed fried rice 30 yuan, fragrant snails 38 yuan. The dishes were a little salty. The best thing was still seaweed fried rice. We had to support the wall again, haha!

After a day's driving, I hurried back to my cozy Haiyang Wind Apartment, washed and slept early, and prepared for the next day's trip!

D5: Nan'ao Island General Military Mansion--Beach--Seafood Restaurant

When I woke up naturally in the morning, I began to worry about breakfast. There were very few breakfast restaurants on the Internet. I still chose the principle of being nearby. At a restaurant at the intersection of the Tropic of Cancer, I ordered 12 walnut buns, 12 quicksand buns, 10 corn dumplings, 5 porridge, 25 seafood kway teow, and 8 glutinous rice chicken. A breakfast cost 90 yuan. Isn't that extravagant?

Nan'ao Island Hot Wheat Restaurant

Then, take No. 601 to the Zongbing Mansion Bus Station, get off the bus, walk forward about 30 meters and turn left, and follow the directions shown by the arrows.

Admission to the General Military Mansion is 13 yuan per person, and half price for students and people over 60 years old is 7 yuan with their ID cards. On the right side of the door are two cannons, and on the left side are the stone statue of Zheng Chenggong and his recruitment tree. It takes about half an hour to go around. There is a seafood shopping shop outside, which is relatively cheaper than the seafood where we live. Friends in need can buy it here.

We were planning to go to Treasure Island. On the way back, we met three old ladies peeling raw oysters. We asked them how much it cost per catty, but they couldn't understand or answer it. It's confusing! Fortunately, a middle-aged aunt came and said that it was 20 yuan per pound of oyster meat without shells or 4 yuan per shell. After thinking about it, it would be more convenient to buy the meat directly, so we started, weighed it for 30 yuan, and then went to the B & B nearby We weighed rice and bought quail eggs, and prepared to go back to the B & B to cook it ourselves.

fresh oysters

The original plan to go to Treasure Island fell through, so we had to take a bus to visit Treasure Island and take the 601 bus back. When we passed by, we saw that there was only one pavilion and a plank road, and that was it. We bought fish balls, soy sauce and Vasabi at the supermarket nearby downstairs, and settled for our own Chinese food.

Bring your own Chinese food

Haha, although there are not many dishes, they are delicious!

In the afternoon, we prepared to go to the beach again and passed through the community garden. We couldn't help but take a few more glances.

community garden

I don't know if I have offended God, but the wind rises as soon as I reach the beach. The wind and waves are strong enough to swallow a warship, haha! But it still cannot stop our desire to ride the waves. We took off our shoes and stepped in the cold water, waiting for the waves to hit our feet wave after wave. We drew circles and concave shapes on the beach, and my mother patted us.

Not good! When I was not careful, the wave rolled up. Mom had no time to dodge, and my shoes were all wet. We looked at each other and smiled, left the laughter in the sea, and carried it deep into the sea with the receding wave...

As the sun sets, there are sparse figures. We returned to our place, cleared the sand and mud, and prepared to go downstairs to find food. I found a second-ranked seafood restaurant nearby online. Because it was a newly opened store, it was not yet popular. Both the employees and the boss were very enthusiastic. We bought a group meal for two and ordered two more dishes. The boss even came over personally to ask us how the dishes were, got close to us, and finally gave us a discount. A seafood meal worth less than 200 yuan was really worth it!

Dishes: wolfberry tea, yam, crab soup, steamed oysters, seaweed fried rice, baked crab pot, green vegetables, fried oysters with mushroom mushrooms, and complimentary desserts

D6: Nan'ao Island-Shantou-Small Park-Zhongshan Memorial Pavilion-Zhongshan Park-Tasting night porridge

The things we bought yesterday afternoon finally came in handy. Simple porridge with quail eggs and dumplings made today's breakfast. We packed our bags, took bus No. 601 to Miamiqian Dayuan Station, and then turned to bus No. 105 to Emgrand Hotel West. Get off, walk about 100 meters to Hexin Xinghai City, and stay in the apartment we booked.

I have to say that the villagers on Nan'ao Island are not friendly at all. On the bus, two other tourists and our luggage accidentally fell due to the car turning too much. They hit the legs of an aunt next to them twice. My mother sat behind her and hurriedly apologized. I quickly stepped forward to fold the box to avoid falling. However, due to too many detours, the box fell down again. This time, I angered the aunt, and the aunt began to curse. She kicked and scolded our suitcase. At the same time, an old man rushed out. I don't know if it was his man or his concubine. He used Foshan Shadowless Kick on my box. Fortunately, I didn't put anything valuable, otherwise I would have suffered. My mother was very popular and was ready to go to war. I wanted to rush forward to help, but then on second thoughts, I wanted to come out and play to have fun. Don't ruin my mood for this kind of person. I'd better forget it and not lower myself to his level. In the end, my mother also paid for a bottle of grass cream.

But I still have to tell everyone here that when you go to Nan'ao Island in the future, you must pay attention to your words and deeds and never provoke these two people, otherwise the consequences will be serious! Alas, I also feel sad that there are such rude people in South Australia. Such a good place has been ruined by these people!

Hexin·Xinghucheng

We reached our place in about two hours after going around. After making some adjustments, we went to the nearby Xinghai City to find food. Xinghai City is similar to shopping malls such as Wanda, with food, supermarkets and clothing and shoe shops.

Hefeng Pavilion

We found a Lotus Pavilion, which is made of Japanese ingredients, including Japanese hot pot, sushi, sashimi, etc. There are many varieties, but the quantity is very small. We spent 145 yuan and didn't have enough, so we switched to Mizhilian. The rice cakes here are only 2 yuan, curry fish eggs are 10 yuan, and original egg dumplings are 11 yuan. It feels better than the Mizhilian in my hometown! Plus, I went to McDonald's nearby and got a few cups of coffee. Haha, a perfect match!

Authentic Mizhilian

By the way, there are also beef hot pot, medicinal diet and health restaurant, Cantonese refreshments, Starbucks, etc. It's really convenient!

We took the No. 22A bus and went to the small park to find out. I thought the small park was a park with trees lined with small bridges and flowing water. In fact, it is not. You have all been deceived! The small park is the commercial and cultural center of the old urban area of Shantou and is the core area and cultural symbol of the old city of Shantou.

The small park in the narrow sense refers to this Sun Yat-sen Memorial Pavilion. The small park in the broad sense covers Anping Road, Shengping Road, Guoping Road, etc. around the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Pavilion. These buildings seem to be called arcade buildings. This department store in the area is 7 stories high. It was formerly the "Nansheng Company" founded by the Overseas Chinese Group in 1932. It was the second tallest building in Shantou before liberation and a landmark building and small park in old Shantou. One of the symbols. This place is worth a visit!

There is also an Internet celebrity snack-Small Park Egg Tart. It has a wide variety and a cheap price. There are only 2.5 pieces of fried pulp egg tart. However, this fried pulp only has fried pulp pearls inside, but the outer skin is really delicious, crispy, thick, sweet and not greasy. Unfortunately, the Chinese food has not been digested yet, otherwise I would buy and try every flavor, hehe!

Xiao Park Egg Tart

We followed the navigation and walked to Sun Yat-sen Park, passed by the Lao Ma Palace Stage and Guanyin Temple. There is a school next to it, probably donated by charity money!

This is Shantou Fire Protection History Museum, with fire truck decorations inside. It is a good practice base! Hehe…

This is the August 1st Nanchang Uprising Memorial Hall, also known as the Dapu Guild Hall, and it is also a good patriotic education base.

There are unknown trees on the side, and the flowers are so gorgeous, adding a lot of color to this gray and historical place.

After walking for about twenty minutes, you arrive at Zhongshan Park. After entering the park, you will walk right along the Yuemei River. You will see the majestic gate of the park. The front is inlaid with the four gold characters "Zhongshan Park", and the back is the four embossed gold characters written by Dr. Sun Yat-sen."The world is for the public."

Zhongshan Park

The three garden buildings in the park, namely archway, rockery, and Jiuqu Bridge, are known as the "three wonders" in the park. It can make me feel more comfortable here. There are also playgrounds, zoos, flower viewing halls, and many snack bars nearby, but we are doomed to miss it because we are going to try Chaoshan night porridge.

A Changping Laozi Niang Night Congee Shop has become an Internet celebrity, but the dining environment is average. After thinking about it, I finally chose to give up and found a cleaner Wuwan Congee Shop, where I settled dinner.

Wuwan porridge

This store is similar to Lao Ziniang. It may have less food, but the taste is still very good! The price is also affordable and worth checking in! The most recommended ones are his pickled crabs, pickled shrimps, and special sesame leaves, which are all very delicious. Marlin is light, and it must be dipped in their sauce and served with white porridge to be perfect. Spring vegetable pot is the worst, so you don't have to order it!

Night porridge

We still took the No. 22A bus back to the West Station of Emgrand Hotel and went to Xinghai City Wal-Mart Supermarket to buy some food, preparing to use it as dry food on the road the next day. I also booked tickets online for the next day's Changlong International Circus Show in Guangzhou. Each ticket is 320 yuan. Student tickets and youth tickets are available at a discount with ID card or student ID card, which is about 40 yuan cheaper.

D7: Shantou--Guangzhou-Changlong International Circus

Chaoshan had eaten it all, but I felt a little tired, so we made our own vegetable porridge early this morning and had a big meal with dumplings purchased from Wal-Mart. Today's destination is Guangzhou. Taking a taxi from your residence to Shantou High-speed Railway Station will take up to ten minutes and the price is 8 yuan. Shantou Station stipulates that only two hours before departure can enter the station, and others can only sit in temporary tents erected outside.

It takes nearly 4 hours to take the high-speed train from Shantou to Guangzhou. Let me remind you that there are many stations in Guangzhou. We arrived at Guangzhou East Railway Station. We took Guangzhou South Railway Station on the last day of our return journey. There is also Guangzhou Station, so everyone is making arrangements. Be careful when making your trip! The Guangzhou subway is very convenient. It takes about 30 minutes by subway from East Railway Station to Beijing Road.

Subway one-way currency

After checking the online strategies, there are four ways to take the subway in Guangzhou:

1. Yangcheng Pass is divided into ordinary cards and commemorative cards. Ordinary cards require a deposit and can be recharged at any time. If you can't use it up, you can refund the card and refund the deposit. However, this kind of card requires going to a fixed place to go through the card refund procedures, which is not convenient. There is no deposit refund for commemorative cards.

2. For one-day ticket and three-day ticket, the price of a one-day ticket is 20 and that of a three-day ticket is 50, which can be used unlimited times within 24 hours and 72 hours respectively.

3. If you purchase tickets directly at the subway station self-service ticket vending machine, you can pay in cash on Alipay WeChat.

4. Download the Guangzhou Metro APP on your mobile phone and bind it to Alipay or WeChat. You can swipe the code directly and take the bus first before paying. However, if you forget to pay, the system will automatically deduct it from your account.

Because we stayed for a short time, it was not cost-effective to buy a card, and too many codes were easy to make mistakes, so we chose on-site self-service ticket purchase. There were not many ticket buyers, so it was quite convenient.

We stayed in Jinyuan International Apartment near Beijing Road. The hotel here is relatively old and the facilities are relatively old. Fortunately, it is close to the Beijing Road Pedestrian Street. The Beijing Road subway entrance is about 30 meters away, making it easy to transfer. There is also Guanghai Yangzhonghui nearby, which is a shopping mall with everything to eat and use. It's so convenient! After making some adjustments, we are ready to take the subway to see the Chimelong International Circus.

After taking the subway for about an hour, I finally arrived in Chimelong. Opposite Chimelong is Daduhui and a food city. However, you must remember to exit from Metro Exit G and don't go to the wrong subway exit, otherwise you will have to take a lot of wrong roads!

The food city seen from the Hanxi Changlong subway entrance

We chose this Xichu Beef Fragrance Store and ordered beef offal pot, sausage flour, bean curd, and turtle jelly. The beef offal pot has sufficient ingredients and delicious. The sausage flour is delicate and has a lot of beef. The bean curd is sweet but not greasy. Adding osmanthus, it gives you a full aroma. The turtle jelly is just so-so! You can also use group purchase coupons. Four people ate a total of 212 yuan, which is a great value for money!

After arriving in Chimelong, follow the signs to the platform and take the free bus from Chimelong Scenic Area. It runs every about 10 minutes. The bus also has a stop. If you want to see the circus, get off at the next stop of Panda Hotel and follow the crowd or direction the signs to find the ticket office.

Those who book tickets online can collect tickets by themselves based on the number and ending number in the text message, or they can collect tickets purchased online through a manual window. I booked the ticket online the day before. Each ticket is 320. Students can buy student tickets with their ID cards or student ID cards, and children can buy tickets below 1.5 meters. The ticket shows that it starts at 8 o'clock, but the scenic area shows that it starts at 7:30. Fortunately, we arrived at the ticket office at 6:30. As soon as we got the ticket, we trotted into the theater.

It was 6:45, and the good seats for ordinary tickets in the theater were already full. We found a seat near the entrance and sat down, waiting for this classic international circus. The clown appears at 7:30 to interact with the audience, and the official start at 8:00. The whole performance can only be described as shocking, and it was indeed worth the money. Since the audience could not take photos, we could only secretly take a few pictures.

At 9:20, the entire circus was over. We quickly evacuated the scene and disappeared into the exciting night with the crowd. We still rushed back to the hotel on the subway.

On the way back, I couldn't help but shiver a few times. The cold air in Guangzhou has been pressing, but there is still a little coolness at night, which makes people have to wrap their coats tightly and walk quickly on the way home. At this time, we saw that under various flyovers, homeless people were lying in front of the store. Some were single and some were married. Most of them were men. They used cardboard beds, underwear pillows, sleeping bags as quilts, and umbrellas as roofs. They were lying on the ground one by one, sleeping well... It turns out that the plot in Hong Kong dramas is all true. I can't believe that in such an economically developing metropolis, there are really such people living in this way.

D8: Beijing Street Point Dude-Shishi Sacred Heart Cathedral-Shamian-Yuexiu Children's Park-Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street

I went to bed too late last night and woke up this morning with the sun shining brightly. So I decided to start from Beijing Road and go to Dude, the most famous tea house nearby, to experience the authentic Cantonese morning tea.

The famous Beijing Road Pedestrian Street
An encounter on the road to Beijing
Culture on Beijing Road

Diandude is worthy of being a time-honored brand. At this time, the house was full of friends and a dazzling array of refreshments. The Hand-Cutting Party began to "kill on a massive scale."

Did you drool 3,000 feet? Hahaha…

We took a taxi to the cathedral. The small coconut at the door was 5 yuan each and the large coconut was 15 yuan each. We ordered a large one and drank soup first and then ate meat. Wow, it was so tender!

This stone chamber Sacre Coeur is one of the four all-stone Gothic church buildings in the world, comparable to Notre Dame de Paris!

There are people praying inside. It is very sacred and solemn. Tourists can enter, but they cannot make loud noises and cannot take photos. I secretly pressed one at the door, shh...

Shamian was originally the British and French Concession, and rows of old European buildings have become people's first choice for concave shapes here.

There should be the Pearl River next to it. It would be a pleasant thing to make a cup of coffee here and sit there for a long time in a daze. We all felt that this way of traveling might not be suitable for children, so while swiping our phones, we accidentally saw Yuexiu Children's Park, a good place for parent-child fun, so we immediately decided to find out. I wanted to take a taxi, but this was a one-way street and there were not many vehicles entering and exiting, so I had to watch while walking. Along the way, I encountered many ancient buildings, post offices, customs offices, memorial to the May 30th Massacre, and Xidi Wharf. This trip was not in vain!

It takes about 20 minutes to walk to Yuexiu Children's Park. In fact, it is more suitable for children under the third grade to play. There are two ways to apply for a card: one is to apply for a long-term recharge card to charge 300 and get 100 free, so you can use it next time. The other is to apply for a temporary recharge card, which requires a deposit of 10 yuan. If you don't use it all, you can refund the card and refund the deposit.

We chose the second one. After charging 210, there were 200 yuan in the card. We asked our son to swipe his card to find a place to play. However, our son thought these were too childish and only chose bumper cars, walking in the clouds, miniature roller coasters, pirate ships, driving excavators, etc. He said that the most fun thing was bumper cars, and he rode it twice.

The park closed at 6 o'clock. He didn't want to play before 5:30, so he invited us to eat some ice cream at the McDonald's next door, which was a complete success.

Of course, you have to go to the pedestrian street at night. Shangxiajiu is a must-go. There are too many delicious food in Guangzhou. As soon as you walk into Shangxiajiu, you are attracted by the delicious food there. It is not a fake to eat in Guangzhou. There are several food cities alone. I wanted to go to Nanxin Dessert Shop, so I let my parents choose for dinner and followed them into the food city. Wow! There are so many delicious food and more crowds! The hot wonton noodles, cake noodles, beef offal soup, and the irresistible aroma of cumin have seduced the strong appetite.

We finally found a place to sit down and ordered fresh shrimp wonton noodles and ferret root powder until we are full.

I bought another 10 yuan 30 skewers to satisfy my craving for barbecue. After eating it, I realized that it turned out to be gluten kebabs. The barbecue here is not freshly roasted, but just heated in the oven. It is not delicious at all. Failure!

In order to alleviate the sequelae of this barbecue, we followed the navigation to Nanxin Desserts Store. The most famous ones here are double skin milk and ginger juice milk.

We ordered them all and tasted it. The double skin milk was very thick and delicious. Later, we tried many restaurants, but none of them were as delicious as Nanxin's. Ginger milk has a strong ginger flavor. My parents and son said they couldn't accept the taste, but I thought it tasted very good and I still felt warm after eating it. Although the cold air went south in the past two days, my body was also warm. It's all the fault of the ginger juice!

Eat and drink your fill, and go home.

D9: Yuexiu Park--Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall--Chenjia Temple--Guangzhou Tower--Beijing Road Pedestrian Street

In the morning, when we walked out of the hotel, we were scared by the cold air coming at us. We even wondered if we were in the south. We felt like we were going to freeze to death in Guangzhou! We immediately turned around, went back to the hotel and put on our autumn clothes and pants. We went out again, regretting not putting on our down jacket. We thought we would just have a bowl of hot porridge, so we chose Yinji Rice Noodles near Beijing Road.

After walking for about 10 minutes, I found this store. The door opened at 6:30 in the morning. It was already past 9 o'clock when we arrived, but there was still a queue at the door. The most famous ones here were 25 portions of fresh shrimp and beef rice rolls and 15 portions of a pint of boat porridge. I ordered another double skin milk just to witness Nanxin's strength, and the results can be imagined. However, the rice flour is thin and the ingredients are adequate, and the boat porridge is also large and full. There are pork belly, fish balls, fish jelly, fish slices, prawns, peanuts, fried dough sticks, and there seems to be fresh shellfish. It is delicious and has a moderate thickness. This porridge is so worth it!

Today's first stop: Yuexiu Park, to witness the legend of Yangcheng. The subway on Beijing Road is fast and convenient, and it takes not long to arrive. There was a ticket office for the Lantern Show written at the door. I didn't want to pay for it. Later, I saw a small door on the right, and everyone went in from there. So we followed in, followed the signs on the road, and walked into Xianting., took the direct elevator to find the Wuyang Stone statue.

It's hard to imagine its beauty just by looking at the picture. Only when you come here and stand at its feet can you feel the beauty of the five sheep. According to reports, this statue once won the national sculpture championship!

My son suddenly wanted to see the Sun Yat-sen Monument. We walked up the stone steps and only saw the ancient city wall of the Ming Dynasty. It was red and green on the top. The once broken walls and ruins had been completely restored, but it still could not erase the profound mark left by time.

After going down the steps, we were ready to go out to the south gate and go to the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. On the way, we found a plank road on the side, which allowed us to climb the ancient city wall. That should be the road to Zhenhai Tower and Sun Yat-sen Monument on the map. Give me a map and find it yourself.

Walking about 100 meters across the road is the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. Tickets are not required for the park, but it costs 10 yuan per person to enter the Memorial Hall. Elderly people over the age of 65 and children under the age of 14 over 1.5 meters visit for free with their ID cards. Elderly people and students aged 60 to 65 present their ID cards at half price.

My son and I went in and visited it. It included a brief introduction to Mr. Sun Yat-sen's life, a large venue, and an introduction to architectural design. This was undoubtedly a good practice base for students of the Architectural Design Institute. We couldn't understand it either. We came out after the visit in less than half an hour because our son began to get hungry again. I found an Internet celebrity shop hidden in the alley-Chenji Shacha Noodles. There weren't many people when we arrived.

His family has set meals of 12 yuan and 15 yuan respectively. The dishes are all prepared for you. There are shrimp, meat, meatballs, mushrooms and vegetables. The noodles are also divided into coarse noodles, rolled noodles, ferryan noodles, etc., or you can choose your own dishes before settling the bill. I chose the set meal of 15 yuan, which includes shrimp, squid, beef balls, beef meatballs, beef tripe, fish balls, mushroom, lettuce, bean sprouts, and tofu. It's a big bowl!

By the time we sat down, it was already crowded and there was a long line at the door. The taste is really good, and the Shacha noodles live up to their reputation!

About 30 meters after turning a corner, there is a Liyuan Desserts restaurant. His family's Yuanyang milk tea has also been very good. Unfortunately, when we went there, it was closed during the Spring Festival and we didn't eat. I regret it a little.

Next stop: Chenjia Temple. Tickets are purchased by scanning codes on mobile phones. First, you must pay attention to his family's Weixin Official Accounts, and then make an appointment on WeChat. You can enter one person at a time, and three people must enter it three times respectively. Minors and elderly people over 50 years old can be exempted from tickets with their ID cards, but you still have to make reservations on WeChat. There are specific instructions at the door and you can follow the instructions.

The Chen Family Temple is the Chen Academy. It is a "Family Temple" jointly donated by the Chen clans from all over Guangdong Province. It is the largest, richly decorated and well-preserved traditional Lingnan ancestral temple building in Guangdong. Whether it is the roof flying beams or the courtyard corridors, various carvings and color paintings are filled in it. It is worthy of being Guangzhou's cultural business card. It is highly recommended to visit!

Due to the high value of appreciation of the Chen Family Temple, I couldn't help but take a few more glances and walked a few more steps. As a result, I felt tired. Therefore, my original trip to Sun Yat-sen University and Red Brick Factory was cancelled and I went straight to Guangzhou's landmark building-Guangzhou Tower! The subway passed for about an hour, and three trains were changed. By the time we arrived at the Guangzhou Tower, it was already past three o'clock. There is a set ticket for climbing the tower, and you can choose.

We had no interest in climbing the tower, so we took a few photos outside and planned to walk along the river. Helpless, the cold air continued, and the wind by the riverside blew us until our nose flowed. We almost froze to death by the riverside again, so we chose to evacuate this cold place.

The river opposite the Guangzhou Tower

In the evening, we chose to go to Beijing Road for food. Because it was our last dinner, everyone said that we should eat better. We searched online and found a newly opened Wulin Chef God restaurant with good reviews and coupons to use. We set off immediately.

Wulin Chef God Tea

I highly recommend Wulin ice durian, fried noodles with eggs, quicksand buns with fried egg yolk, chicken feet with soy sauce, and crispy peanuts. They taste good and affordable. The shrimp dumplings here are delicious, but they are not as good as Diandude, I only ate more than 200 this meal.

Desserts after meals are a must-have. We chose Renxin Desserts and ordered pearl double skin milk, coconut juice sago, and almond paste. The taste is average. The almond paste has a strange bitterness, but I can accept it; double skin milk is better than Nanxin's.

The nightlife of Guangzhou people has already begun, and we have to prepare to purchase food on the way back. Bread, milk, instant noodles and eggs are standard, and we can all settle them at the American supermarket on the first floor of Yangzhonghui near Beijing Road. Back in the room and looking out, there are many commercial buildings, but you can see the vicissitudes of life. This city has profound cultural connotations, creating a profound and profound food culture. You can find the delicious food on the tip of your tongue in any street or alley...

Street view from the hotel

D10: Guangzhou--East Hangzhou--Hometown

The earliest subway from Beijing Road was at 6:05, and we had been waiting at the subway gate around 5:30. At this time, the iron gate was not open, so we could only stand outside blowing the cold wind and respond to the Internet celebrity Cantonese song: "The cool breeze blew gently and quietly entered my clothes. In summer, I couldn't hear the sound. The days passed so quickly that I had a lot of feelings. I remembered the colorful scene..."

At about 5:50, the staff opened the iron gate. We rushed into the subway station at lightning speed in order to find a seat with seats. We took Line 6 to Haizhu Square and then turned to Line 2. Fortunately, when we got on the bus here, there were not so many people on Line 2. We quickly found a seat and sat down. In about 35 minutes, we arrived at Guangzhou South Railway Station.

The Spring Festival travel army is as strong as a tide. Fortunately, there are many security checkpoints at South Railway Station, and the queue only takes more than ten minutes. But the funny thing is that there are too few toilets here. There are toilets for ladies, but there is a long queue outside each toilet. I waited in line for more than half an hour before my turn, but the ticket checking had already started. I had no choice but to go all the way to the high-speed rail to solve it. The six-hour high-speed train arrived in Hangzhou very quickly. It took less than five minutes to complete the transfer. What needs to be mentioned here is that it said online that the transfer requires a paper ticket for staff to check, but now you only need an ID card to confirm it.

Twenty minutes later, we finally arrived at our lovely hometown. It felt good to be back home. However, the memories of Guangzhou-style morning tea, Chaoshan beef meatballs, and Shantou night porridge lingered for a long time, because for a foodie, the delicacy on the tip of the tongue is so unforgettable... haha...
