If you want to travel to Guangzhou, you personally feel that you have to spend at least a week before you can enjoy it. After all, every district in Guangzhou has its own characteristics and is worth taking the time to visit it. For example, Panyu District is more suitable for playing, surrounded by Changlong Wildlife Park and Baomo Garden; Yuexiu District and Liwan District are gathering places for Guangzhou cuisine, with inexpensive snacks next to each other; Tianhe District has many landmark buildings in Guangzhou, including Xiaomanyao, Guangzhou Grand Theater, Guangbo, etc., so you can arrange them all when you have time.
The overall feeling of visiting Guangzhou this time is still very comfortable and suitable for a casual walk. So this time, I want to share with you the three routes that I think are most worth visiting (usually free attractions and food courts scattered around several kilometers), hoping to help friends who are about to travel to Guangzhou ~
Huaxuanli Hotel Guangzhou Zhujiang New City Branch
This hotel is located in Zhujiang New City in Tianhe District, Guangzhou. It is surrounded by two subway lines, Line 3 and Line 5, and ATM lines. It is convenient to go to any area in Guangzhou. Moreover, the discount for continuous stays is very strong now.
The hotel is decorated in a new Chinese style. You can see carefully drawn flower and bird paintings and walnut Chinese furniture everywhere. It is full of Chinese charm.
The lobby is on the 17th floor. The so-called "climbing and looking far away" is right. The hotel's lobby and restaurant are equipped with huge floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful city scenery of Zhujiang New Town in all directions. There is a restaurant and beverage bar near the lobby, which provides buffet, coffee, fruit tea, desserts, etc. The hotel buffet is still very rich, but because our schedule is quite full, we did not taste the buffet at the hotel. If you are interested, you can try it. There is also a gym in the hotel lobby. Although the space is not large, the fitness equipment inside is very complete.
My best friend and I were arranged to have a room on the 16th floor. The bathroom in the room is dry and wet. I think this is very friendly for us as we share the room. The air in the room is very fresh. It is said that an air purifier is installed.
Wenming Road-Beijing Road--De Road
Tour type: Humanistic cuisine in Laocheng District
Attractions: Sun Yat-sen Library, Shishi Sacred Heart Cathedral, Guangzhou Zoo
Time: afternoon + evening
Photo index: ★★ ★★
This was the first route we officially started playing in Guangzhou. It was also a day when we accidentally chose a snack bar based on our instincts (we didn't make a strategy because of the rush of time). But the results of shopping tell us that our instincts are very accurate because this is a must-visit Guangzhou snack route. It wasn't until the third night of our tour that we followed the guide and came to Guangzhou's famous Beijing Road to queue up to buy milk tea that we discovered that this was the snack street where we ate Yinji Rice Noodles on the first day!
Therefore, there is no need to make the strategy airtight. The key is that your intuition must be accurate (I'm kidding)
We first went to Wenming Road to visit the Sun Yat-sen Library. Next to the library is the Lu Xun Memorial Hall. It is free to visit with our ID card. It displays Mr. Lu Xun's teaching in Guangzhou, his love with Xu Guangping, and the works of young Guangzhou artists encouraged by Lu Xun. etc.
We visited for about 2 hours. The color of the overall building was very eye-catching. The bright yellow exterior wall and the green large banyan tree outside the museum were more suitable for taking photos under the sunshine.
If you go out from the memorial hall to the right or cross the road, you can intuitively know that these shops are time-honored brands in Guangzhou. For example, across the road, Laoxiguan rice flour (the flour is average but the porridge base is very fragrant), Rose Dessert Shop, Baihua Dessert Shop (the variety of desserts is enough to drive death phobia), coconut chicken from Dayang Stew, etc.(medicinal diet + coconut juice + black chicken). These snacks are not large in size and are suitable for girls who are curious but have a small appetite.
Continue to turn right and go straight for a while and you will arrive at Guangzhou's famous Beijing Road Pedestrian Street. This street is full of snacks. My suggestion is to go to Yide Road to visit Shishi Sacred Heart Cathedral and then return to Beijing Road for dinner.
One intersection south of Yide Road will lead you to the Pearl River. The river line along this area is also beautiful before the sun sets.
Generally speaking, Yuexiu District is the central Urban area with the smallest area and the highest population density in Guangzhou City. Walking on such an old street, you can't help but wonder, is every household in Guangdong doing business? And it is often the same kind of merchants crowded together in the same street. Near the B & B where we live is a street where seafood business is done. Both sides of the street are filled with dried fish and shrimp, which has a very market-like flavor. Although the common problem in Laocheng District is narrow roads, I like the way people are busy working.
Guangdong Art Museum--Sun Yat-sen University South Campus--Guangzhou Tower
Tour type: Urban scenery
Time: afternoon + evening
Photo index: ★★★
We saw the Guangdong Art Museum and the South Campus of Sun Yat-sen University while doing a guide. These two attractions were separated by the Pearl River. After visiting the art museum, we swept two shared bicycles and rode through the overpass to the South Campus of Zhongda University. The Guangdong Art Museum displays some calligraphy and painting works by Guangdong artists, which are free and worth seeing.
The Binjiang Road we rode through is a spacious and suitable route for residents to jog. There are many people walking dogs, strolling children, and exercising. Since there is no disturbance from vehicles, this is an extremely pedestrian friendly road. We didn't visit the South Campus of Zhongda University carefully because we wanted to get to the Guangzhou Tower at 6 p.m.
There are four types of tickets for the sightseeing floor of the Guangzhou Tower. I call it "I regret going to regret it if I go there and I regret it if I don't go." In order not to regret it, we only bought the cheapest indoor sightseeing ticket, 150 per person.
For dinner, we chose a Singapore restaurant in Gaode Real Estate East Plaza, Tianhe District. There are business districts nearby, which is suitable for shopping and eating. I heard from friends in Guangzhou that the Guangzhou Grand Theater near the Guangzhou Tower is very suitable for taking photos. Photos are often swiped when browsing a book. However, due to the rush of time, we couldn't go, so everyone who is interested can go.
Duobao Road--Baohua Road--Shangxiajiu--Shamian
Tour type: Humanistic cuisine
Attractions: Bruce Lee's Former Residence, Yongqing Square, Cantonese Opera Art Museum, Shamian
Time: morning + afternoon
Photo index: ★★ ★★
On this day, we went to the snack bar based on the friendly recommendation of a friend. They are all restaurants that locals in Guangzhou love to go to. We ate them and found that the taste of Guangzhou people is still light.
The first one we went to was Xinlian Rice No. 3 Affiliated Hospital of Guangyi on Duobao Road. This store only opened in the morning. Judging from the store's decoration and retro number plates, we can see that this is a time-honored brand. We ordered two large portions of rice noodles (wrong demonstration, the smaller portion is completely enough) and I also ordered a bowl of the most expensive pork offal porridge (I can't remember the name of the porridge).
When the clerk was making rice noodles, he asked us if we wanted spicy rice, but I didn't expect that the "spicy" in this store was sweet bean paste... To be honest, rice noodles should taste better without bean paste.
Then we came to Yongqingfang, which is the Laoxiguan Pedestrian Street in Guangzhou. It is an old neighborhood that has been successfully renovated. It contains Bruce Lee's former residence, the Cantonese Opera Art Museum, etc.
Our original plan was to eat all the way from Duobao Road to Baohua Road, but we ate too much at the first rice noodle shop due to a mistake in our decision-making. So we chose to go to the so-called most literary attraction in Guangzhou, which I had the highest expectations-Shamian.
This was once a famous commercial port in Guangzhou, and many countries have established consulates here. Many people went to play that day. Shamian was actually located on the bank of the Pearl River, but I don't think the scenery on the bank was as beautiful as the Binjiang Road area of the South Campus of Sun Yat-sen University.
After shopping for sand noodles, we headed back to Baohua Road and went to Jianji Noodle Shop located on Changshou East Road recommended by a friend. We ordered beef brisket noodles and pork knuckle noodles. The price was very affordable, less than 20 yuan a bowl.
What impressed me deeply was that the noodles at his house are between noodles and bean skins. They do not have the essence of northern hand-drawn noodles and are wrinkled like bean skins. This texture allows the noodles to absorb the soup of the beef brisket well. I think it's great, but my best friend thinks it's very ordinary. Maybe she's too hungry to taste it (whispered).
Then we began to look for the Shun Kee Ice Room on Baohua Road recommended by our friends. This ice room is in a deep alley. As we walked in, we found that there were all time-honored snack bars and passed by a long queue. One heart chicken. Shun Kee Ice Shop has a large store. It not only handles sugar water business, but also staple food. We ordered his signature Xiangmao and Durian ice cream. The price was not cheap. Two small lumps cost 25. I don't think the taste is as good as the Madiel ice cream I ate in Harbin.
Dongshankou is said to be listed as a true literary and artistic place in Guangzhou along with Shamian and Zhongda South Campus. At first glance, it is no different from ordinary neighborhoods, but it is not difficult to discover the hidden artistic atmosphere here by walking through the streets. Dongshankou gathers a large number of young designers, creative trendsetters, literary and artistic youth, etc., and there will also be various fashion exhibitions, photography exhibitions, art exhibitions, etc. from time to time.
On Yandun Road, behind a dilapidated stone rice wall, there is a retro paradise that is always easily ignored-Qingyuan.
This eighty-year-old house has been brought a trace of tranquility and elegance by a vintage shop. The retro clothes and accessories in the villa, antique tiles, and brightly colored jewelry are all like shuttle machines from a distant era, taking us back to that very slow time.
23ART is one of the few small art museums in Guangzhou that surprises me. It stands quietly among the small buildings without a trace of impetuosity.
The small Western-style building has three floors, and different floors have different types of exhibitions. Moreover, the exhibitions displayed in each period will be different, and those who are interested can check the exhibition theme in advance. There is also a large terrace on the third floor with a sofa for resting in the room, making it peaceful and tranquil.
The stairway on each floor records art-related language. The white walls and black characters are simple and powerful, implicit but not ostentatious, as if the artistic attitude they want to express here. There are often art exhibitions here, and there are not many people, so it is recommended.
There is a strong atmosphere of life. After school in the afternoon, the entire Dongshankou becomes lively. The sugar water shop is full of people, the vegetable market at night is full of shouts, people are singing hymns in the church, and people are playing chess in the park...
