Today is May 9th. We are going to Shunde to visit an art museum and enjoy local food. After taking a complete ride on the Guangfo Line subway from the starting point to the finishing point, we finally arrived in Shunde.
Will there be an art museum in Shunde? We arrived at our destination skeptically, with a carefully manicured welcoming pine tree and a chic grey-black building standing in front of us. Following the winding path to the art museum, we began our visit.
The Art Museum is a five-story building. We unload our small backpacks in the self-service storage area on the first floor. We start directly from the highest floor and visit them. The fifth floor is the "Re-Rui" traveling exhibition of the China Pavilion of the Venice International Art Biennale, where the works of several outstanding Chinese artists are displayed.
The Venice International Art Biennale is the first of its kind in the art world.
This is just a photo of the water city of Venice.
The world is made up of these complex substances.
You know, the artist got inspiration from an ancient moth-eaten book.
These two paintings cleverly utilize the three colors of black, white and gray, and each blooming lotus flower seems to light up a heart lamp.
This painting reflects the texture of the glass ashtray through the clever use of light, and the fish in the ashtray are more like a defined life shackled by established social rules.
What attracts us even more is the works displayed from the fourth floor down and the original essence of the entire building. The exquisite design and grand thinking have benefited us a lot.
Starting from the fourth floor, we introduce the artistic life of famous Japanese architectural designer Tadao Ando. We are unfamiliar with Tadao Ando, and we have gained a superficial understanding of Tadao Ando through visits and studies. Tadao Ando is known as "Japan's uncultured ghost." He was born as a boxer. He used the bonuses he won from boxing competitions to travel around the world, visit famous artists, view famous buildings around the world, and became a world-famous architectural design master by self-study.
The works of these world-famous artists inspired Tadao Ando at different times, so he specially designed the display space based on the content of each specific work, so that the works and the display space complement each other and integrate into one.
The name of this work is called "Lines", and I think it is more like the traces of time flowing on ancient walls.
This is a work made entirely of butterfly wings. It's called "Holy".
Evening time
What is even more amazing is that the architectural design of the museum itself was also done by Tadao Ando. This art museum was privately funded and built by people from Shunde, Guangzhou. It is a non-profit art museum.
Tadao Ando cleverly invited the sun to participate. Every day, the sun would shine in from the dome of the art museum and slowly pass every inch of space from one side to the other side of the art museum. Shunde, Guangzhou is located near the Tropic of Cancer-30 degrees north latitude, so the noon sun around the summer solstice will vertically pass through the dome and project on the ground center of the first floor of the art museum.
The exterior of the art museum is a huge cylinder built on a square pool and square lawn, forming the concept of a round sky and a square earth. The pool, building and garden in the courtyard blend harmoniously, so the museum is named "He".
The floors of the museum are connected by double spiral stairs, shaped like DNA. There are no abrupt decorations inside and outside. The interior is made of as-cast concrete structures and walls, and the exterior is a thin vertical fence. Light and shadow intertwined, hard and warm.
The v-shaped structure of as-cast concrete supports the aisles and divergent circular floors of the building. Tadao Ando's requirement for the v-shaped shape must be an acute angle perpendicular to the ground on one side and intersecting the other side, so precise that even a finger could not be put down, and the building itself became a work of art.
In the exhibition hall of the art museum, he also cleverly used the line-like holes in the wall to cleverly combine light and space.
Tadao Ando designed the church of light. He used the cross lines presented by holes in the wall to express the religious significance and solve the problem of lighting in the church.
The water church designed by Tadao Ando.
Tadao Ando designed the space in which he integrated lines, light and geometric shapes.
There is a % cafe on the first floor of the art museum. This cafe is very tasteful. Whether it is in Love Lane in Macau, He Art Museum in Shunde, or Tai Koo Li in Chengdu, we can see its shops. We drank coffee and bid farewell to Shunde, and we will bid farewell to Guangzhou. This is an art museum that you can visit for the second or third time. I believe that every time I visit and study here, I will have a new experience and bring shock to my soul.
The lingering longing of the "He" Art Museum made us completely forget the delicious food in Shunde. It was already very late, so we had to give up the plan to find delicious food and return to Guangzhou, bidding farewell to Guangzhou.
Next time I come to Guangzhou, I will go to the "He" Art Museum!
