This "cloud road in the sky" in Guangzhou ("cloud road" is just a folk term, and its official name is the "Connectivity Project") was officially opened to the public on May 1, 2020. At the beginning of its opening, it attracted many citizens. Come and see the scenery on foot. This beautiful "cloud road" connects several major parks in Guangzhou, starts from the north gate of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in the south, passes all the way through Yuexiu Park, Huaguoshan, Sculpture Park, Luhu Park, Yuntai Garden, and finally extends to Baiyun Mountain., the total length is about 8 kilometers. The "Cloud Road" can be roughly divided into three sections: Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall-Yuexiu Park (1.7 kilometers); Yuexiu Park-Luhu Park (3.4 kilometers) and Luhu Park-Baiyun Mountain (2.9 kilometers).
The "Cloud Road" hiking route mainly consists of two parts: one part is a newly built overhead pedestrian plank road, which is used to connect various park scenic spots, which is the origin of the name "Cloud Road"; the other part is When passing through various parks or scenic spots, directly use the existing roads or plank roads in the park as an integral part of the Cloud Road.
It is said that there are more than a dozen entrances and exits along the "Cloud Road", but most of them are not yet open for use. The only entrances and exits we see along the way seem to be the south gate of Yuexiu Park (west gate and northeast gate), the east gate of Sculpture Park, and the entrance of Xiatang West Tianqiao., Luhu Park Jufang Garden and other entrances and exits. Since Yuexiu Park is located in the city center and has convenient transportation, many tourists choose to enter the cloud road from here.
If you are foreign tourists, you can go to the beautiful Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall to get a card before walking on the "Cloud Road", and then enter Yuexiu Park from the south gate. We didn't come here this time in order to save energy, so we borrowed some beautiful photos from our friends to show off the charm of the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.
The actual starting point of the "Cloud Road" is at the south gate of Yuexiu Mountain Park north of the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, commonly known as the Hundred Step Stairs. Starting from the 100-step staircase, you can climb the top of Yuexiu Mountain. The 100-step staircase has about 500 steps, which is the highest and most tiring section of the entire journey. We chose to enter the park from the west gate and successfully avoided this tiring 100-step staircase.
Yuexiu Park is an old park in Guangzhou. There is still a 1-kilometer-long and well-preserved Ming City Wall and Zhenhai Tower built in the Ming Dynasty (now the Guangzhou Museum) in the park.
Not far from Zhenhai Tower is the very famous Wuyang Statue. Zhenhai Tower and Wuyang Statue are both landmark buildings in Guangzhou's Laocheng District.
The kapok flowers in the park are in full bloom. The fiery red kapok is the city flower of Guangzhou City, symbolizing the blood of countless martyrs.
After wandering in Yuexiu Park, we finally came to Sunset Red Square, which is the real starting point of the "Cloud Road in the Sky". Here, tourists need to show the Suikang code and temperature measurement before entering the "cloud road". Let's go!
It is said that when the "Cloud Road" was first opened, many people took the wrong way because there were too few guide signs. Nowadays, there are such guide signs all the way, so you can basically avoid taking the wrong way.
Spray systems are also installed along the "Cloud Road", distributed in multiple node sections to form water mist to cool down, especially the air trail section, which basically covers the entire spray system. When we went, the weather was fine and the temperature was not high, so the spray system was not turned on.
This "cloud road" is an all-metal structure, and even the ground is made of metal mesh, so it is not slippery at all.
When passing through the Sculpture Park, you have to walk a short mountain road that goes up and down, but the slope is not big, the road is very wide, and there are trees on both sides of the road. You don't feel tired all the way.
Anti-SARS memorial in the park.
The end of the overhead section of "Cloud Road" is Jufang Garden in Luhu Park. Luhu is the southern foot of Baiyun Mountain and is in the same vein as Baiyun Mountain. After entering Luhu Park from here, you can follow the lakeside plank road on the north bank of Luhu and head east towards Baiyun Mountain.
The scenery of Luhu Park is very beautiful and is a place we like very much. We stayed here for a while before leaving.
The yellow-wind Suzuki flowers on the edge of the Luhu are blooming very charmingly, which is so beautiful.
At this time, the fir trees by the lake had withered.
I remember one year when I came to Luhu on New Year's Day, the fir trees by the lake were in full bloom, and the yellow area was very spectacular and handsome. This is a photo taken at that time.

Xinghai Park built to commemorate Xian Xinghai.
Keep walking forward and cross this Fengming Bridge, and you will leave Luhu.
After leaving Luhu Park, it seems that there are no special trails. We can only walk along the road all the way to Baiyun Mountain. Crossing the Guangyuan Road overpass and continuing forward, you will arrive at Yuntai Garden at the foot of Baiyun Mountain. This is the official destination of the "Cloud Road".
Yuntai Garden is also a place worth visiting. The flowers here bloom in full bloom all year round, making it a good place for citizens and tourists to enjoy flowers.
Although the "Cloud Road" is over here, if you still have the strength, you can enter Baiyun Mountain from the nearby south gate to continue climbing (you can take ramps or stairs), pass Nengren Temple to the first peak of Tiannan, and even climb Mount Mount, the highest peak of Baiyun Mountain.
