Guangzhou Hotel was designed by the team of Mr. Mo Bozhi, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and master of Lingnan Architecture. Guangzhou Hotel is one of the famous masterpieces of "Lingnan New Architecture". It is a hotel designed and built by the Chinese and has the highest building in the country.

◇ In 1966, under the cordial care of Premier Zhou Enlai, Comrade Tao Zhu, then Secretary of the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee, personally presided over the preparation. Guangzhou Hotel became a representative building in the center of Guangzhou and one of the earliest foreign-related reception hotels in New China.

◇ In May 1989, Guangzhou Hotel was rated as one of the first batch of three-star foreign-related hotels by the National Tourism Administration;
