If you arrive at Yangshuo Railway Station one day, you will definitely know an ancient town-Xingping Ancient Town after getting off the bus.
If you take the high-speed train from Guilin to Yangshuo Station, you will not be in the real Yangshuo County, because the Yangshuo High-speed Railway Station was built in Xingping Ancient Town. After leaving Yangshuo High-speed Railway Station, it takes about an hour to take a taxi to Yangshuo County. Take an electric bamboo raft to tour the Li River at Yangdi Wharf in Guilin. The farthest dock will also dock in this century-old town.
Now that you come, you can settle down. Xingping Ancient Town can take a day or two to appreciate its rising and falling sun. Presumably, its atmosphere will definitely make people find a trace of tranquility in their busy lives.

In fact, if time permits, it is recommended to stay in Xingping Ancient Town for one night to watch the sunrise and sunset, and enjoy the RMB 20-yuan yellow cloth reflection along the bank of the Li River and other famous attractions. The ancient town is not big, but the prices are not cheap. It may be because the ancient town is located between Guilin and Yangshuo and relies on the superior conditions of the dock.
There are two famous mountains in Xingping Ancient Town. One is Xianggong Mountain, where you can watch the sunrise, and the other is Laozhai Mountain, which is famous for watching the sunset. Xianggong Mountain and Xingping Ancient Town are separated from the Li River. It is recommended that those who want to watch the sunrise stay at the foot of Xianggong Mountain one night in advance, that is, on the opposite bank of Xingping Ancient Town. Otherwise, they will have to take a boat and transfer train to get there the next day, which is extremely inconvenient in the morning before dawn.
If you don't cross the river, it takes about two hours to drive by car from Xingping Ancient Town to the foot of Xianggong Mountain by land, and you need to detour from Yangshuo County. Instead of this, it would be better to charter a car to Xianggong Mountain to watch the sunrise when I lived in Yangshuo County. There are carpools for pick-up and drop-off from Xianggong Mountain everywhere in Yangshuo County, and the tickets are less than 100 yuan. If I can get up at four o'clock in the morning and hurry, I can still make a trip to Xianggong Mountain.


The archway in Xingping Ancient Town looks like a newly built one. The most suitable hill for watching the sunset-the entrance to Laozhai Mountain is in an inconspicuous place next to this archway. It is really difficult to find it without careful search. Laozhai Mountain is an undeveloped wild mountain. There are no stone roads halfway up the mountain. If you continue up, you will pass through the tombs of many local people. If you are not together and have some outdoor experience, don't climb it easily.


Although Laozhai Mountain is not high, due to the difficult roads and the complex terrain around the mountain, even a young and strong young man needs 40 minutes to an hour to reach the top. If you plan to watch the sunset before going down the mountain, in addition to trying to travel together, it is best to bring a headlight. After all, the light is dim after sunset, and there are no lighting facilities along the road to the undeveloped wild mountains.


There are warning signs everywhere along the way, and the more you go, the more difficult it becomes. You must be mentally prepared before climbing Laozhai Mountain.


When you see this pavilion halfway up the mountain, it means that the seemingly safe stone road from the foot of the mountain has ended, and it will become more and more difficult to climb up. Looking at the Li River and the distant mountains from this pavilion, thousands of sails sailing. Such a picture is already very beautiful.


About two-thirds of the way up, you will see some self-purchased drinks on the roadside. The higher you go, the more expensive they are. They are all purchased by self-scanning the code.


When I saw the warning sign in the picture below, I recalled that at the inn, the innkeeper learned that I was going to climb Laozhai Mountain alone, and immediately took the road to pay attention to safety. The mountain road was dangerous. When I nodded and listened with a polite smile, the innkeeper reminded me extremely seriously, saying, Don't laugh, you must be careful. Every year, an accident occurs in Laozhai Mountain, and last month, a person disappeared.
The innkeeper's words sounded the alarm in my heart. Although my parents had begun to prevent me from going after listening to this, in order not to have any regrets during this trip, I still carried my camera and went upstream with great caution.


Now looking at the photos taken of the Laozhai Mountain Road at that time, I still have lingering lingering fear, and I am glad that I walked up and down this dangerous mountain road alone at that time.


When we are about to reach the top of the mountain, we need to climb a straight up and down, 90-degree ladder. After passing this ladder, you will see the pavilion on the top of the mountain after climbing for about five minutes. When I thought about this, everyone took a breath of cold air. Personally, I feel that after climbing Laozhai Mountain, Huashan, which is famous for its hardships and dangers, is nothing more than this. After all, no matter how dangerous Huashan Mountain is, it will still be safe.


The pavilion on the top of the mountain is still not the best place to watch the sunset, but requires both hands and feet to climb up the top of a mobile signal tower. I climbed to the top at about 4:30, sat on the hill with the wind on all sides, quietly waiting for the sunset to give back to me.


It was mid-November, and it was sunny for days, so I didn't see the stunning sunset. The ordinary sunset, accompanied by smoke curling down the mountain, I felt that the trip was worth it.




The Li River meanders past at the foot of the mountain, leaving only a few boats slowly returning home. The afterglow of the sunset falls obliquely on every traveler.


When the sunset is over, it is the more terrifying part of going down the mountain in the dark. When I was going down the mountain, there were still several buddies stationed on the top of the mountain, saying that they wanted to take pictures of the stars. The dangers and dangers of going down the mountain will not be described again. In short, every friend who plans to go to Laozhai Mountain must pay attention to safety.




After coming down from Laozhai Mountain, I looked at the bits of fishing fire, the green mountains were still the same, and I was filled with emotion.


Next to the dock of Xingping Ancient Town, walk along the Li River for a few minutes. About diagonally opposite the ancient town, there is a bridge. Crossing the bridge, and walking for about 15 minutes, you will reach the 20-yuan background-the best viewing spot for the reflection of yellow cloth. In the evening, I heard that there was a paid performance here where an elderly man on the back performed fishing and took photos with tourists for 20 yuan. The 20-yuan grandfather is now over his 80s. He was still a young man when he was used as the prototype for the filming.


When you go to the reflection of the yellow cloth to take photos, you can use the sunset or sunrise, and the light is the softest. The photos taken are also better. If there are drones, you can overlook the sparkling waters of the Li River in the mountains and rivers.


I walked to the Yellow Cloth Reflection early the next morning. There were several observation platforms built by villagers along the road. The perspective of each position was not much different. I could stop and stop all the way, taking photos and playing as I wished. If you are tired from walking and want to return to Xingping Ancient Town, local villagers everywhere use tricycles to solicit passengers. Instead of bargaining, you can take you back to the ancient town for about ten yuan.




After crossing the bridge and walking along the highway, the farthest you can get to Jiuma Huashan. Because I have limited time, I returned the same way when I reflected on the yellow cloth, so I am not sure how to get to Jiuma Huashan.


Just during the ten-minute walk, there were several observation platforms engraved with 20 yuan background, which should have been built by the local villagers themselves and provided photo taking services.


After talking about the beautiful scenery around Xingping Ancient Town, he turned his attention back to the ancient town. The entire ancient town is not big, and you can stroll around in about half an hour. Among them, the most historical one is this Xingping Theater.


Xingping Theater, also known as Wannian Theater, was built during the Qianlong period. This is a relatively well-preserved ancient stage of the Qing Dynasty in northern Guangxi. The whole building has a unique style, fine workmanship, exquisite patterns, and elegance and solemnity.


After entering the door, there were a few nondescript plastic costume models wearing ancient costumes, which instantly made people appear. If the local government spent some money to make a wax figure, wouldn't it be more charming?


I confirmed the eyes and found that it was the real body of the ancient stage.


Craftsmen outside the ancient stage were tinkling silver, and the silver and hammers gave off a melodious sound, like a famous actress chanting words from the Qing Dynasty.

The ancient town is particularly peaceful and comfortable because there are few tour groups coming.








Looking up at the top of Laozhai Mountain in the ancient town, I was secretly surprised that my adventure last night was just for the moment of sunset.


In fact, about two kilometers away from Xingping Ancient Town, there is also a typical fishing village with Lingnan culture, which became famous because of President Clinton's visit. It's just that I had limited time and didn't stay in Xingping for more, and I originally wanted to watch the sunset on Laozhai Mountain, so I stayed here for one night and returned to Guilin. If you are interested in ancient villages, you might as well be there and you can still appreciate the long old streets and the deep interest of ancient alleys.

As an important hub between Guilin City and Yangshuo County, Xingping Ancient Town plays a connecting role. The Li River took a beautiful turn here, creating the rise of tourism here today. The ancient town with beautiful mountains and rivers and world-renowned scenery silently carries the arrival of countless travelers with its perseverance.
