When I was very young, I knew it in textbooks-"Guilin's mountains and rivers are the best in the world."
From then on, the seeds of going to Guilin were planted in my heart. Later, I learned that the pattern on the back of the 20 yuan RMB was the landscape of the Li River in Guilin, and the desire to go to Guilin became even more urgent.
Unfortunately, good things are troublesome. This year's Dragon Boat Festival, I officially set foot on the bus in Guilin.
Departure: Guangzhou South-Guilin West. The average high-speed train journey takes about two and a half hours. The train I grabbed was the D1806, which lasted 3 hours and 14 minutes. It was the slowest train from Guangzhou to Guilin. It started from Guangzhou South and arrived at Guilin West at 8:07 in the morning.
The ticket price is 164, which can be said to be quite affordable compared to the same three-hour fare from Guangzhou to Changsha 314. Amway strongly supports the Guangzhou Weekend Party.
The type of carriage I sat in was the one that changed from a soft sleeper to a hard seat. The first floor was changed into a one-piece seat like an ordinary train hard seat, and the second floor was half-closed with a quilt. I don't know if this was the arrangement during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday or if many cars have changed it in order to accommodate more passengers, but in short, this is the first time I have sat in such a carriage. My eyes are facing each other in a closed space, which is so awkward.
Arrival: My classmate told me that all the fun things in Guilin are in the city center. As long as I book the hotel near Guilin Station, many scenic spots can be reached on foot, so I booked the hotel near Guilin Station. Many chain hotels in downtown Guilin have room prices of around 150 and are clean and sanitary.
The map from Guilin West to Guilin Station shows 12 kilometers. My appointment took more than 20 minutes and cost 34 yuan.
Start eating, drinking and having fun: Everyone knows that the highlight of Guilin is Yangshuo, so I don't arrange any attractions in Guilin to check in. I went to the hotel to drop my luggage and started looking for food. When I came to Guilin, of course, I wanted to eat Guilin rice noodles. I decided to eat all kinds of Guilin rice noodles.
Regarding local specialties, I have always followed the principle that the most common food on the roadside is the most local flavor. So I randomly chose a rice noodle shop and got a bowl of signature rice noodles. It cost 18 yuan. The taste was still good. (Xiaokeng Warning) I later heard that the authentic local restaurant in Guilin rice noodles costs 4 yuan each, which costs more than one to one or two fifty cents. They all have meat and are quite cost-effective. Later, I ate so much that 5 yuan is quite satisfied.
After eating rice noodles, take a walk along the Li River to digest digestion. In June, it is the rainy season, and the river water is full of yellow muddy water, which undermines the scenery in your sight. There are vendors on the roadside who buy osmanthus cakes. The freshly steamed osmanthus cakes cost 5 yuan and 4 yuan. They are quite expensive, but they taste good and are worth trying. They are completely different from those sold in the souvenir shop, but they need to be sold immediately. (Forgets to take photos whenever you encounter delicious food)
From near Guilin Station, along the river, you will unwittingly walk to the entrance of Xiangshan Scenic Area. I remembered that in the taxi into the city, the local master said that Elephant Trunk Mountain was not interesting and suggested that I go to the Qixing Scenic Area. In addition, some classmates also said that there was no need to go to Elephant Trunk Mountain, so I didn't buy a ticket to enter the Xiangshan Scenic Area. Instead, I took a taxi to the Qixing Scenic Area on the other side.
Seven Star Scenic Area: Adult admission to the Seven Star Scenic Area is 70 yuan, excluding Qixingyan Cave. As soon as I stepped into the gate of the Seven Star Scenic Area, a heavy rain hit my face. I a little regret not adding 35 yuan to buy a ticket that includes Qixingyan Cave, so that I can escape the rain when I go to see the cave.
Fortunately, the rain came and went quickly in the mountains, and it stopped in a short time.
This is the scenery of Guilin taken when I climbed one of the mountains. It had just rained and was misty. The photo was a bit ugly and had not been photographed. It was almost like this.
My evaluation of the Seven Star Scenic Area: The park with the most expensive tickets. There are no strange mountains, steep rocks and dangerous peaks, let alone exotic flowers and grasses. The mountains are not high, the roads are not dangerous, and the area is not large. Except for a few wild monkeys not far from the gate, I really couldn't find anything special.
To make sure I didn't make a mistake, I walked around the park twice, yes, really twice, and walked safely. It's good for couples to walk on weekends, and it's also okay for a vacation. It's not recommended for girls who like to check in and take beautiful photos in the background of attractions!!!
Across the river from the Seven Star Scenic Area is Jingjiang Royal City. Judging from its scale, it is an entire block. If you go in, you should still be able to play for 1-2 hours. But when I arrived, it was past 5 o'clock. The house closed at 6 o'clock and the ticket was 100. I thought about it and still didn't go in. I could only leave some regrets for my next visit. (I regret going to the Seven Star Scenic Area first instead of directly Jingjiang Royal City)
Two rivers and four lakes passing by: Twilight slowly fell, and the cool wind on the river dispelled the heat in the city. Just as I was looking forward to seeing the moving scenery of this city of mountains and rivers under neon lights, a Heavy rain trapped me in the "place" again. Then, with my last stubbornness (I didn't want to waste my travel time going back to the hotel to sleep), I found a movie theater and watched a movie.
--When traveling in the southern rainy season, you must prepare for the worst.
I returned to the hotel and checked the bus to Yangshuo. It was really complicated. First of all, because Yangshuo is a county town, there is actually nothing special except West Street. The main scenic spots nearby are basically distributed in-east, west, north, south and south. There is no passing word at all. For someone like me who only has two days left and is not driving by myself, I really can't care about one thing but the other.
(Big pit warning) Guilin Yangshuo one-day tour group: I inquired with the locals that it takes more than 300 yuan to take a cruise ship from Yangshuo to Yangshuo directly, and the time is about 3-4 hours.️I began to think that I could accept it. After all, I should be able to see enough of the scenery on the road after being on the boat.
Knowing that every hotel had tickets that could be booked, I slept leisurely until nine o'clock the next morning. Downstairs, there were indeed travel agency staff buying tickets in the hotel lobby. Tai Hang warned, but she said that the direct boat runs every day and the tickets are sold out. Moreover, the boat departed at 8 o'clock, and it is no longer available.
Now it seems that I should have been tricked into coming. This line is so popular. How can there be a boat a day and leave at 8 o'clock? There is nothing else ~
In short, she finally recommended me the "most cost-effective route". The bus goes directly to the hotel and connects it to the dock. The cruise ship takes the elite scenic spots section. The bus goes back to Guilin. It also passes through Yangshuo. You can go back anywhere you want. Because I learned that the docks/attractions were all in nearby towns and villages, it was very inconvenient to catch the bus one after another, so I thought it made sense when I came to it, so I bought their "ticket" for 180 yuan.
At 10 o'clock, the car came to pick us up at the entrance of the hotel, and then we picked up people from hotels one by one along the way. When the person who led my team said that he was a tour guide and that there was a Dong village on our itinerary, I instantly understood that I was obviously signing up for a one-day tour!
Characteristic Village Dongqing Water Village: It is a characteristic village built locally to develop the economy, increase characteristic tourism projects, and improve the living conditions of ethnic minorities in the mountains.
On the bus, the tour guide "Huang Dog Meat" first introduced us to the matters to pay attention to when going to the Dong village. (To explain here, the tour guide said that in the local area, dog meat means good friends. His surname is Huang, and we all call him Huang Dog Meat.)
When we arrived at Dongqing Water Village, a local sister-in-law dressed in national costumes took us around and explained for us. When we entered, we warned us repeatedly that the structure inside was complex and not to get lost. We also told us that if we got lost, my sister-in-law's identity as cultural propagandists would be cancelled and we would be sent back to the real stockade in the mountains. The yellow dog meat followed behind the whole process to "prevent" us from getting lost and wandering around.
Although it is Dragon Boat Festival, there are not many people in Dongqing Water Village, and almost no one can be seen on the road. Although it was built like many ancient towns, because it was where they lived, there was almost no commerce. Every household was open, but no one was there. Although the tour guide said that they could enter the house with the owner's consent, my family did not enter.
On the road, there are teams performing Dong welcome programs, special folk songs, anti-song and other programs, but each event lasts for about 30 seconds, which is a bit perfunctory. For me, what I am more satisfied with is the welcome wine, the local specialty of low-intensity white wine. It has no spicy taste at all in my throat. After a while, I feel hot in my chest, which is quite good to drink.
(Dakeng Warning) During the explanation and other processes, the Dong family's sister-in-law popularized a lot of wonderful uses of silver in the local area. Finally, she said that she would take us to visit the Dong family's specialty silverware. I thought it was to visit the silverware production process and other specialty crafts. In fact, it is a store like XX Fu. The only difference is that the silverware in every counter here is the same. Everyone "visited" it for an hour.
Because I was someone who couldn't stand sales and others, I didn't go in and take a look, and I didn't take photos.
My friends and I slipped out, braved the scorching sun, and took photos on the roadside for a while. We were just about to climb to this attic to take some beautiful photos, but the yellow-meat dog family called and urged us to get on the bus quickly.
We thought we were the last to not get on the bus, so we thought hard about the parking lot route and started to run. Fortunately, we weren't the last to get on the bus, because the last two girls to get on the bus were even bitten by Xiao Xiong.
Going to Xingping Town: At about 12 noon, our car traveled from Dongqing Shuizhuang to Xingping Town, which took about an hour. On the way, Huang Dog Meat said that the car would stop in the town so that everyone could go for lunch and buy specialties. He would help us queue up to get the boarding tickets. (Xiaokeng Warning) Then, he began to introduce us to various specialties of Guilin, including how to evaluate them. Finally, it's rare to be troublesome. If you place an order now, the product will be shipped directly to your car. Everyone can just take it away when they finally get off the car. They also guarantee a 10-fold compensation for buying a fake/cheaper one.
Of course I didn't buy it, but I secretly tell you here that in fact, when I went shopping later, I really found a cheaper one. As for who is the real one and who is the fake one, I don't know ~
(Pit Warning) Finally, I stopped and asked us to come down for dinner, but I looked confused. This in front of you? Why is it more remote than the place where I rest halfway through the long-distance bus? Are you sure this is a small town? It was close to two o'clock at that time, and everyone was really hungry, and many people were eating. Because I lacked experience when I signed up for a tour for the first time, I honestly walked into the store and ordered a very famous local "Lijiang Beer Fish"(recommended by the tour guide when he was in the car), accompanied by bamboo rice.
The fish was a little ugly, but I didn't take pictures of it. When I saw that the rice on the edge of the bamboo tube was yellow, I knew that it was not fresh. The rice couldn't come off when it was stuck on the bamboo tube. There was no bamboo aroma at all ~ Bad review ~
Originally, I wanted to complain that the fish was not delicious and not very cooked, but the eldest brother at the next table spoke first because the rice he received was raw... However, at this moment, the tour guide told us to get on the bus and set off for a cruise ship.
Although I didn't eat anything at all, I just wanted to hurry to start the next stop because it was getting late. I am glad that I ordered bamboo rice, which is cooked, and I am also glad that I ate quickly, and at least my stomach is filled.
The car drove for another seven or eight minutes and stopped in a parking lot. This time, the yellow dog meat took us on foot for five or six minutes to the real Xingping Town. Wow! There is a sea of people, what a bustling scene, with all kinds of snacks, all kinds of stores, my heart ~~
Why did I have to eat that sky-high price eight-point beer fish just now? Why? Omission 100,000 question marks here...
20-yuan cover tour: Arriving in the town, the time is approaching 4 o'clock. Huang Dog Meat said that he had asked someone to help us queue up. He went to have a look. We went to the town for a stroll first and called us when we arrived. Because we were told before that it might take 2 hours to swim, I was always worried that it would be too late to line up. At first, I didn't dare to go far, so I kept looking for a background angle of 20 yuan by the river.
360 degrees looking for a 20-yuan landscape angle
However, obviously, I failed
After waiting for a while, we learned that there were several regiments ahead of us. It turned out that getting on the boat was not a rush at all, so we began to walk through the streets.

Osprey bamboo raft
For the second hour of waiting for the cruise ship, we were all wilting on the roadside. Seeing that the sky was about to get dark, despair was as heavy as the dusk slowly falling on the top of the mountain.
Finally, at around 6 o'clock, we got on the boat. As soon as the boat circled a small bay, it stopped and said it was taking photos for everyone. However, because the boat is relatively small, only batches are allowed to go out to take photos, and their photographers are always standing at the best angle. When tourists walk into the background, they will take photos of you (it's so blue).
(Small pit warning) At this time, when a bamboo raft comes closer, the fishermen will carry the osprey onto the boat and take photos with the tourists. What tourists need, one person needs to pay fishermen 5 yuan. You can take as many photos as you want. If it is taken by a photographer on board, the purchase cost is 25 yuan each. At that time, a passenger first chose five tickets, but later felt that one of them was not attractive and didn't want it. He had a slight disagreement with the crew on the ship, and finally ended up with the tourists compromising and paying. By the time we got off the boat, the dusk was already very thick, around 7 o'clock.
Whether the photos are voluntary or not, all scenic spots in Guilin have "free shooting" projects with the best shooting angle. If tourists do not plan to buy photos, it is best not to take or not to look at the photos taken by the photographer, so as not to give yourself a trip that increases unpleasant or unworthy consumption.
It was originally said that the two-hour boat journey took only about 40 minutes. The distance between the boat and the round trip was 5 kilometers (the scale in the picture above is: 1:10000).
Yangshuo West Street: When the car arrived in Yangshuo, it was completely dark. The so-called place we were placed at the intersection of West Street was actually on the main road on the edge of the city, nearly two kilometers away from West Street. Because this is a small county town and it is raining, even though it is a holiday, there are not many people on the road. We go to the hotel booked near West Street to drop off our things, and immediately go straight to West Street to start looking for food.
The atmosphere here on West Street is completely different from the road we took just now. It is a real sea of people, with bright lights, just like the lively and bustling pedestrian streets in every city.
As for food, I think I should recommend the chef! Because we saw a store every few steps, we decisively chose it. The decoration is a pink girl's heart, with small flowers everywhere. The key point is that the price is relatively reasonable. Although we didn't order any more Lijiang fish, the dishes we ordered were quite good. The price of such a restaurant + dish is similar to that of the roadside greenhouse at noon, 178 yuan.
The street is full of specialty souvenirs. You can buy enough, but it is really expensive. The handmade nougat I bought is more than 90 yuan per catty. It's just really delicious, and our colleagues have received rave reviews, although the average is 1-2 yuan per tree.
On the last day, because I had to go back, my itinerary was arranged quite casually, just to visit Yangshuo.
Yangshuo Shili Gallery: The scenic spots near Yangshuo are all relatively scattered. Because it has been raining, I no longer plan to rush to the scenic spots at all.
After walking around West Street again, looking for something to eat. We rented a scooter and went to the Shili Gallery for a stroll. There are many attractions along the way. Local car rental vendors recommended many packages to us, but based on yesterday's lesson, we didn't choose any. The electric car cost 50 yuan a day, paid a deposit of 600 yuan, and went out for a walk.
I have to say that riding an electric bike along the Shili Gallery to see the scenery is really a good choice. The air is super good and the scenery is super beautiful.
Bamboo raft rafting. The car rental vendor said that the bamboo raft rafting was closed due to heavy rain, but when we rode by, we still saw many bamboo rafts coming down upstream.
There are many local restaurants along the way, and many hawkers follow us on bicycles to ask if we had eaten, trying hard to attract customers from their own restaurants. I refused them all on the grounds that one family had eaten.
There are many small attractions along the Shili Gallery. Judging from the naming and introduction, they are banyan trees/karst caves/mountain springs. Each attraction has separate tickets and the prices are not cheap. I originally wanted to choose one or two scenic spots to visit, but it rained heavily again and had to return.
(Xiaokeng Warning) Our small electric car was rented from a small vendor who was walking on the road to solicit customers. She used the electric car to drag us to her store, which resulted in us not remembering the way when we came out and forgetting to leave our phone number. We searched for three or four times when returning the car. If it weren't for the heavy rain, we might have delayed our trip back.
Finally, the car rental vendor said that the time to go to Yangshuo High-speed Railway Station is about the same as that to Guilin Station. I bought a ticket from Guilin, but if that train passed through Yangshuo, I went directly to Yangshuo to take the bus. Fortunately, I didn't listen to her. It was indeed quite far from Yangshuo County to Yangshuo High-speed Railway Station, but the bus only took half an hour. It takes an hour to get to Guilin Station. If your train is Guilin West High-speed Railway Station, you still need to transfer trains, which takes about half an hour, which means that it takes at least 2 hours to reserve the train time.
-----------------A strange woman who likes to go out and play but never makes strategies. This is my 3-day and 2-night trip to Yangshuo in Guilin.
