The originally scheduled 10-day trip to India + wedding could not take place, so I had no choice but to switch to domestic routes. After some preparations (booking plane tickets, boat tickets, hotels, car rentals, etc.), we boarded the flight to Nanning with our lover and started our 10-day journey to Guangxi.

Formulation of itinerary

I learned about the general situation of tourist attractions in Guangxi through the Internet, and absorbed the opinions of the "privately customized" staff of Ctrip's travel itinerary. The order of visiting attractions still followed the principle of gradual progress in the scenery (the best attractions were put last, so that the arrangement would not create a sense of loss in the later period), and this itinerary was finally formulated. Bring your camera, ID, mobile phone, charger, sunshade and other necessary items and go straight to Yunnan.

My itinerary is arranged like this:

Day 1, fly directly to Nanning in the morning. Wuwei International Airport (car rental)--Qingxiu Mountain Scenic Area--Nanning Dubai Seven Star Hotel;

Day 2, Hotel--Tongling Grand Canyon Scenic Area--Jingxi Universal Hotel;

Day 3, Hotel--Detian Waterfall Scenic Area--Beihai City--Hampton Inn by Hilton Beihai High-speed Railway Station;

Day 4, Hotel--Old Street, Beihai City-Yintan, Beihai City--Beihai International Passenger Port Terminal (car storage, boat boat)--Weizhou Island-Weizhou Island Royal Bay Hotel;

Day 5, watch the sunrise--Weizhou Island West Corner Terminal (boat)--Beihai International Passenger Port Terminal--Drive to Wuwei International Airport in NanNing City (return the car)--Liangjiang Airport in Guilin City (car rental)--Baigongguan in Guilin City;

Day 6, hotel-Participate in a group tour of Guilin mountains and rivers-Yangshuo-Guilin City-Night tour of the two rivers and four lakes-Baigongguan in Guilin City;

Day 7, Hotel--Yangshuo--Shili Gallery--Yulong River Rafting--Yinziyan--Yangshuo Changfeng Xiushui Holiday Hotel--West Street;

Day 8, Hotel--Xanadu--Guilin City--Hampton Inn Guilin Xiufeng;

Day 9, Hotel--Duxiu Peak Wangcheng Scenic Area--Xiangshan Scenic Area--Railway Station (return train)--Hampton Inn by Hilton Guilin Xiufeng;

Day 10, Hotels--Liangjiang Airport in Guilin City--Tianjin City.

Travel Notes

Day 1 (Tuesday, November 5, sunny weather), I took an early flight from Xiamen Airlines (stopping in Wuhan) and arrived at Nanning Wuwei International Airport at around 12:00. Contacted the personnel of the "Certain State Car Rental" company and drove the reserved Baowo BX5 car straight to the Qingxiu Mountain Scenic Area (36 kilometers).

There is just a free parking space at the west gate of Qingxiu Mountain Scenic Area. After parking, you can purchase tickets to enter the scenic area. The scenic area is very large. I took a sightseeing bus to the "Orchid Garden" near the north gate. Various unknown orchids are open all year round and can be seen everywhere with fragrance.

I met several aunts in Lanyuan. They were all wearing dark blue national dresses, holding flower umbrellas and round fans, and displaying various POSS. They also invited me to take photos for them. Later, my wife simply changed into their clothes and headscarves and took photos to her heart's content.

I drove to Wanshou Guanyin Temple. The buildings here are imitated in the style of the Tang and Song Dynasties. They should be newly renovated. The incense is also relatively strong. Many good men and women pay homage here. My lover believes in Buddhism, so whenever she only worships Buddha in the temple without taking photos, she always maintains her piety.

Came to the Cycas Garden with the car and watched the thousand-year-old Cycas tree.

I originally wanted to go to the Jilin Pavilion Jinnan Ebony Museum, but after asking, I learned that it was late and the museum was closed, so I took a sightseeing bus back to the West Gate. After exiting the scenic area, navigate to the "Seven Star Hotel Dubai". In the evening, I walked to the exhibition Hangyang City not far away. There were many guests who saw "Gui Xiaochu". The fish and snail powder of Yongjiang old friends left a deep impression on me.

I booked this hotel purely based on the name of the hotel. The facilities of the hotel are not quite what I imagined and advertised. They are quite old. Breakfast is also very average, only set meals.

Day 2 (Wednesday, November 6, cloudy weather), after breakfast, drove straight to the Tongling Grand Canyon Scenic Area (250 kilometers). Arrive at the scenic spot near noon, have a simple meal outside the scenic spot, buy a door, hire a guide and start sightseeing. Guangxi has a very good climate and plants are full of vitality.

After listening to the explanation of the tour guide, I got to know plants such as langang trees, Alsophila spinulosa, and Pterns. The green valley, gurgling stream water, faint caves, steep cliffs, and a 188-meter-high waterfall combine naturally and harmoniously to form a perfect picture.

After leaving the scenic area, I drove to Jingxi Universal Hotel (36 kilometers) in Jingxi City. I felt that this hotel was generally okay. After all, Jingxi is a county-level city. It was already good to have such a hotel. In the evening, my lover searched the Internet for local food and found a nearby restaurant called "Shu Ba Po Xiang Sauce Stewed Pot", which solved the problem of food and clothing.

Day 3 (Thursday, November 7, the weather turned cloudy to sunny), after breakfast, after a short rest (the guide learned that the water volume of Detian Waterfall in November is not large, and Vietnam's sluice gate opens at 11 o'clock every day), drive to the Detian Waterfall Scenic Area (76 kilometers), and arrive just around 10 o'clock. Transfer to a bus in the scenic area and drive nearly 10 kilometers along the border road along the "Guichun River" before reaching the scenic area.

Not far from entering the scenic spot, we bought a ticket for a bamboo raft (actually a "motorized boat" in the shape of a bamboo raft) and boarded a diabolo raft without tourists (the bamboo raft in front has more tourists, so we can only sit at the stern, affecting the photo effect), patiently waiting for the boat. Soon after the boat sailed, a small Vietnamese boat on the other side approached. The rowing boat was two little girls, who sold us cigarettes, Vietnamese snacks and some craft bracelets. I don't like cigarettes or snacks, but I like and have a little understanding of wooden bracelets. The workmanship of bracelets is relatively rough and the price is quite cheap. The Vietnamese little sister's Chinese is good, so she recommended Vietnamese huanghuali and Indian lobular rosewood bracelet. The yellowing pattern is quite different from the sea yellow pattern. The lobular rosewood has also full of gold stars. They are probably fake and look quite beautiful. I finally bought these two bracelets for 150 yuan. The bamboo rafts are close to the Great Waterfall, and I am also attracted by the scenery of the Great Waterfall and the beautiful women on the other side of the river.

Detian Waterfall is famous for its large amount of water and majestic momentum. It is the largest transnational waterfall in Asia and the fourth largest in the world. The drop in the waterfalls is not large, but it is better than the breadth and superposition of the waterfalls. Standing on the observation deck, the waterfall is surrounded by dense green. Up to fourth-level silver-white water sprays complement each other and are beautiful with the blue sky, white clouds, golden beaches and the beautiful mountains in the distance.

The picture below is a photo on Baidu. There is a lot of water during the wet season.

When we were about to leave the scenic area, the panoramic photos taken on the observation deck were not bad.

Coming out of the waterfalls, there is a commercial street on the roadside on the way back. It is said that most of the merchants here are Vietnamese and sell various handicrafts. My wife took a fancy to a pair of wooden vases. The owner said they were yellowed and the price was about 1,000 yuan. After the price was drawn, the transaction was sold at 500 yuan.

Outside the scenic area, there is another commercial street, mostly Vietnamese goods. Vietnam is full of coffee, rubber shoes, and handicrafts.

I drove to the Hampton Inn (370 kilometers) in Beihai City and continued to search for nearby delicacies after checking in. When you get to the seaside, you have to eat seafood, and finally decided on the Yuexiang small kitchen (food stall) located on the Qiaogang Food Street that was strongly recommended by "Some Dianping". Abalone, scallops, oysters, seafood scrambled eggs, seafood porridge...

Day 4 (Friday, November 8, sunny weather), the hotel buffet is still good, with a slightly fewer variety and good taste. After breakfast, drive straight to the old street.

Most of the two to three-story Western-style houses on both sides of the old street, with various shops and shops. The air roots of flowers, plants and banyan trees occasionally attach to the facade of the building. The decoloured walls reveal traces of history and are full of a long time. A sense of time.

After visiting the old streets, there were still nearly 3 hours before the passenger ship to Weizhou Island departed, and I stopped by Yintan Park near the dock. The beach here is silver-white, hence the name Yintan. In fact, the beach is only slightly whiter than the northern coast, but the sand is indeed finer.

I boarded a high-speed passenger ship bound for Weizhou Island and arrived smoothly in 1 hour and 10 minutes. You also need to purchase tickets to visit the island. Use your mobile phone to purchase it under your real name and then swipe your face to enter the island. Contact the driver who picked up the boat from the hotel and arrived at the Royal Bay Hotel on Weizhou Island at about 15 p.m.

Weizhou Island covers an area of 24 square kilometers, equivalent to half of Nankai District (more than 40 square kilometers) in Tianjin City. There are only three bus lines on the island, which is inconvenient. Most tourists still rent electric bicycles for transportation. 30 yuan per day is not expensive. I also rented an electric car and went to Colorful Beach, seafood market and nameless beach on the east side of the island. There are basically no sandy beaches in the colorful beach. They are all stones of different sizes. Only at sunrise or sunset can the five-color brilliance appear, which is easy and difficult to capture. There are many vendors in the seafood market selling all kinds of seafood. I bought a grouper weighing about two kilograms, four oysters and abalone each, one emperor snail weighing two kilograms, and one kilogram of large-scale shrimp. It cost a total of 300 yuan. Returning to the hotel with seafood, I happened to meet the hotel chef. After explaining the recipe and making an appointment to have dinner on time at 6 p.m., I rode my bicycle out (my wife was resting in the hotel). At 6 o'clock, we arrived at the restaurant on time. Neither of us was hungry at noon, so we didn't have lunch. We were already hungry at night. Looking at the delicious food already on the table, my appetite widened.

Day 5 (Saturday, November 9th, sunny weather), we booked a sunrise room on the third floor with the balcony facing the east. After washing up, he sat on the balcony, prepared tea, cigarettes, camera and mobile phone, waiting for the touch of red in the east. Maybe it was God's fault. It was obviously sunny, but the intersection of the sea and the sky was filled with fog. The sky was getting brighter and the red sun had risen. Only the very light red could be vaguely seen. The sound of fishing boat engines can already be heard at sea, much like the roar of helicopter propellers. The sky was bright and the sun completely broke out of the morning fog, and a new day began.

Today's road buses are far away, Weizhou Island-Beihai City-NanNing City Airport-Guilin City. We booked a boat at around 9 a.m.. After breakfast, we took the hotel's special car to Weizhou Island Pier (although we had done our homework, the itinerary was still a little tight and loose, especially on Weizhou Island, where we could still stay for an extra day).

Return to Beihai Passenger Port Terminal, pick up the car and go straight to Nanning Wuwei International Airport (230 kilometers). I dropped off the car at the airport and flew to Guilin on a China Southern Airlines plane. The Baowo BX5 car was rented again at Guilin's Liangjiang Airport to the reserved Guilin White Mansion (30 kilometers). After checking in, put down my luggage, took a taxi to Chunji Roast Goose (Zhongshan Store).

I brought my daughter to Guilin City 15 years ago. I was deeply impressed by Chunji Roast Goose at that time. Of course, I can't miss tasting it again during this visit (my wife also listened to her colleague's strong recommendation).

It is already 20 o'clock when we arrive at the hotel and we still need to queue up for a seat. While waiting, I saw a travel agency store across the road, so I went in to inquire (the itinerary behind was relatively loose, so I didn't book an itinerary). At the same time, I also looked at the local weather forecast. The weather was sunny on the 10th, cloudy on the 11th, and gradually cloudy after the 12th. Decisively decided to visit Guilin's mountains and rivers the next day (the focus of this trip). Immediately sign up, pay, and participate in the group (Guilin will hold an international marathon on the 10th, and the departure will be early. During the competition, most roads will be closed, and it will be impossible to leave Guilin City). It was nearly 21:00 when my lover called and the restaurant had a seat. She went up to the second floor and started ordering. I ordered four dishes, including roast goose, fried foie gras in soy sauce, and shredded Lipu taro. Soon the waiter told us that there might be no more roast geese. After repeated requests, the lobby manager finally "squeezed" a portion of roast goose. Although the roast goose was a little cold, we still ate it with gusto and decided to eat it again when the opportunity came.

Day 6 (Sunday, November 10, sunny weather), at 6:30 in the morning, the bus to pick us up arrived, and we took the breakfast prepared by the hotel and set off. There were marathon runners along the way, holding flags, starting from various hotels and gathering towards the competition venue. Traffic police are in place on the roads, and public security and security personnel can be seen everywhere.

After boarding the Lijiang River cruise ship, the photographer began to count the people taking photos and reminded them to follow the rules when taking photos. More than ten cruise ships, loaded with tourists, lined up in a long snake formation, slowly drove into the scenic spot. The deck on the third floor was crowded with people, seizing the best position. Cameras and mobile phones were densely arranged, and every beautiful scenery was not missed. Following the Li River all the way south, the fleet headed towards the sun (against the light). The scenery on both sides of the Taiwan Strait is getting better. At this time, the photographer and tourists have just begun to take photos. Unlike other tourists, they gathered together at the bow of the ship. They chose the stern. While introducing the attractions, they encouraged guests to pose in various poses and coaxed tourists to take as many photos as possible. My lover and I also signed up for the shooting, and I also realized the mystery of it. There is a ship's light pole in front of the bow, making it difficult to avoid. Moreover, it is backlit and the shooting effect is not good. Taking photos at the stern will not have these problems, and the effect will be completely different.

The cruise ship arrived in Yangshuo, and we had to take a bus back to Guilin (the bus to pick us up would not arrive until after 16 p.m.). Fortunately, the distance is not too far (70 kilometers). Back at the hotel, I began to visit the Bai Mansion carefully.

Guilin White Mansion is not the well-known "White Mansion" located in Chongqing. This one is the former residence of Bai Chongxi, a warlord (former Kuomintang general) of the Guangxi Dynasty during the Republic of China. It is located on the bank of Ronghu Lake. Although Baigongguan is located in the central Urban area of Guilin City, it is separated from the trouble and is a quiet and secret residence. The hotel displays a large number of photos of Bai Chongxi during his lifetime, as well as a large number of cultural relics such as antique pianos, televisions (this should be at the ashes level), record players, cameras, radios, typewriters, etc. Entering the guest room, the pure solid wood furniture displayed has a history of nearly a century (some are no longer easy to use). The bathroom in the room covers an area of 15 to 6 square meters, and all the facilities are old but only functional. The whole hotel is like a museum from the Republic of China.

After a short rest, take a taxi to Xiaonanguo Hotel on Wenming Road for dinner. I also had to wait for a seat here. I asked the waiter how long it would take to wait. The waitress was very impatient and finally said directly: "If you can't wait, you can change to the fast food restaurant next door to eat." This is outrageous! Regardless of my lover's dissuasion, I crossed the road and entered another restaurant called Jinlongzhai. I ordered signature dishes such as beer fish and Lipu taro stewed pork, and I felt quite average. After dinner, I swept two shared bicycles and arrived at Wenchang Bridge Pier. Get on the boat and start a night tour of the two rivers and four lakes. There was also a photographer on board. After asking him about the tips of taking night scenes with his mobile phone (the ship was unstable, and the SLR camera was definitely not easy to use), he listened to explanations and took photos along the road.

The two rivers and four lakes include: Li River, Taohua River, Mulong Lake, Gui Lake, Rong Lake and Shan Lake. It is a 5A-level scenic spot in Guilin City. The lights on the bank of the scenic spot at night add a lot of color to the scenic spot. What needs to complain about here is the price of the ferry ticket, 210 yuan/person, which is too expensive.

Day 7 (Monday, November 11, sunny weather), after having breakfast at the open-air cafe near the lake, accompanied my lover to take photos everywhere in the hotel, and drove to Yangshuo (less than 70 kilometers).

After reading the online introduction, Yangshuo's Shili Gallery and Yulong River Rafting are relatively good places. Fifteen years ago, it should not have been developed yet. When we arrived at Shili Gallery, vehicles had to park outside the scenic area, and we rented two electric bicycles to enter the scenic area.

Going south along the Guangcheng Line, the Kaster landform on both sides of the road is clearly characterized, and the beautiful green mountains rise from the ground. Walking through it, it seems to have really entered the picture.

The first one to visit was the "Totem Ancient Road" scenic spot. After buying tickets, a guide explained the way, introducing the living habits of the original "Zengpi People" tribe. This scenic spot is relatively general. The actors in the scenic spot are invited by Vietnam (or Laos) and have obvious traces of performance, giving people a feeling of unreality.

Continue to move deeper into the scenic area and arrive at the Yulong River. Store the electric vehicle at the rafting terminal and take a private electric bicycle to the dock in the upper reaches of the Yulong River. This is a real bamboo raft, limited to two people, put on life jackets and start drifting.

The water of the Yulong River is not deep. The water is crystal clear and green like emerald, and the water surface is very calm. The mountains on both sides of the river are beautiful and beautiful, each with thousands of shapes, and the beautiful figures reflected in the water are particularly clear. The raft walks in the water, and the person swims in the painting. I personally think that the scenery of the Yulong River is more beautiful than that of the Li River.

A 1,400-year-old big banyan tree in the Big Banyan Scenic Area has a crown extension area of 1,200 square meters. More than 20 (unspecified) hanging air roots have become its auxiliary branches. When you see him, you will naturally understand what a "single tree forest" means.

I have been to Yinziyan before, and I felt fine at the time. Since my lover has never been to it, I wanted to visit the old place again this time. Entering the scenic spot and seeing the Yinziyan ticket office, I was really disgusted and fell into the eyes of money. Just one word: vulgar.

The cave is very sultry, and there is a huge electric fan not far away to bring a little coolness. My wife felt very depressed and followed the same road back to wait for me.

Driving 26 kilometers, you arrived at Yangshuo Bilian Riverview Hotel. Put down your luggage and walk a hundred meters away to find a "Master Beer Fish" restaurant. The beer fish in Yangshuo should be sword-bone fish. The waiter strongly recommended us the "sesame sword" with finer meat quality and fewer fish bones, and chose one as she said. I can't remember other dishes, mainly to try beer fish. The beer fish is really good, much more delicious than the one in Jinlong Village the day before. The spicy taste is really enjoyable. After eating, walk to West Street. The West Street is really lively, it's simply too noisy. Various vendors sell all kinds of goods along the street. The bar was also very noisy. My wife was tired of the noise and wanted to turn around after walking only a hundred meters.

Day 8 (Tuesday, November 12, cloudy weather), the first few days of travel are relatively full, but the arrangements will be relatively loose later. The camera's memory was full, and I didn't bring a card reader and searched the digital store all the way. Save the photos on your laptop and start on the road, heading straight to Xanadu. The weather is not very good, cloudy. When I arrived at the scenic spot, I still took a boat tour. The scenery was also good, but there were obvious traces of artificial repairs, which lacked nature and simplicity. The peach blossoms on Peach Blossom Island are too fake. Can they bloom in November?

Back in Guilin, I stayed at the Hampton Inn tonight. Old brands are trustworthy. In the evening, I went to Chunji Roast Goose (Zhongshan Store) again.

Day 9 (Wednesday, November 13, the weather was cloudy with light rain), after the buffet, I drove to Duxiu Peak·Wangcheng Scenic Area. A handsome tour guide led more than 20 tourists to explain all the way. The palace of Zhu Shouqian, King of Jingjiang in the Ming Dynasty, was the place where Dr. Sun Yat-sen commanded the Northern Expedition in the early Republic of China. Wangcheng has excellent feng shui, bordering Duxiu Peak in the north, Li River in the east, Gui Lake in the west, and Rong Lake and Shanhu in the south. Under the guidance of tour guides, tourists commemorate the past heroes under the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Tower, take photos in front of the cliff stone carvings, rubbings the word "Fu" on Duxiu Peak, and participate in the "rush exam" in the Gongyuan. Interesting.

five blessings

As a symbol of Guilin City, Xiangshan is the last attraction of this tour. My Duxiu Peak is not far from Xiangshan, just a 4-kilometer drive. There is a wine cellar of Sanhua Liquor Factory in Xiangshan Scenic Area. You can smell the unique aroma of Sanhua Liquor when climbing the mountain. Climbing to the top of the mountain, you can overlook the whole picture of Guilin City from the observation deck. Nearby, the Lijiang River and Taohua River meet, and in the distance are surrounded by mountains. The only drawback is the weather, which is cloudy. After going down the mountain, we walked across the Taohua River along a dam and arrived at the north side of Xiangshan. This is the best area to see the full picture of Xiangshan. Tourists take photos here, while the aunts wear various shawls to show their not beautiful figures.

In the afternoon, I mainly walked around the tourist shops around the hotel and chose several local specialties. There are flower bridge chili sauce, Guilin brand Sanhua wine, etc. Near evening, we drove to the Guilin City Railway Station, where we returned the car. Then I rode a shared bicycle to Chunji Roast Goose (Zhongshan Store) again.

Day 10 (Thursday, November 14, the weather turned cloudy and sunny), I was sorting clothes and various tourist goods in the hotel, waiting for the delivery boy to pick up the items that needed to be sent back (the suitcase was seriously overweight). At noon, the online taxi took us to Liangjiang Airport, and the plane flew back to Tianjin on time.

This trip is a little short (there are many tourist attractions in Guangxi), and 10 days will definitely not work. Among them, the attractions that should be recommended include: Detian Waterfall, Weizhou Island, Guilin Mountains and Waters, and Yangshuo Shili Gallery. Local cuisine: Seafood from Weizhou Island, Chunji Roast Goose from Guilin, Master Beer Fish from Yangshuo, etc. In fact, there is also a Longji Terrace that you can also visit. Every November, when the crops on the terraced fields have been harvested, the scenic area is closed. Go again if you have the opportunity in the future.
