People often say that "Guilin's mountains and rivers are the best in the world", but they know that "Yangshuo's mountains and rivers are the best in Guilin." When going to Guilin, how can we forget Yangshuo, a pure land? There are many ways to get from Guilin to Yangshuo. You can sail along the Lijiang River, or you can drive by high-speed rail and highway. Yangshuo County is 65 kilometers away from Guilin City and it takes about two hours by bus. It takes about four to five hours to take a boat on the Li River and take a sightseeing cruise ship from Guilin's Mopan Mountain Wharf.

It is important to note that if you take the high-speed train from Guilin to Yangshuo Station, you will not be in the true Yangshuo County, because the Yangshuo High-speed Railway Station was built in Xingping Ancient Town. After leaving Yangshuo High-speed Railway Station, it takes about an hour to take a taxi to Yangshuo County.

When it comes to Yangshuo, I have to mention that Xijie, which is popular on major media websites, is located in the center of Yangshuo County and is known as the capital of romantic encounters. However, in recent years, news of immortals dancing has been continuously exposed, causing the public to return to reason. There is no good thing in the world that loses pie. If you simply come to West Street to experience the atmosphere of the bar, it is still okay.

In addition to noisy bars and disco-dancing venues on West Street, there are also many unique quiet bars and music bars, which are especially suitable for young artists to check in and take photos. West Street is also called "Foreign Street", but this year due to the epidemic, there are many fewer foreigners, and West Street at night is not as popular as imagined. The overall consumption level is similar to that of bar streets in ordinary cities.


In addition to bars and souvenir shops, there are many local specialties and snacks near West Street. The water of the Li River nurtures the residents of Yangshuo, and local specialties are inseparable from the nurturing of the Li River.

Artemisia leaf Baba is a traditional Han snack. The fragrant Artemisia leaf is slightly bitter to the taste, but the aftertaste reveals the strong aroma of glutinous rice.


During the day, the West Street seems sparsely populated, in sharp contrast to the hustle and bustle at night. Most people visiting Yangshuo will stay near Xijie because it is located in the center of the county and is convenient to various attractions in Yangshuo. The best means of transportation to visit Yangshuo is a bicycle or battery car. It is not only low-carbon and environmentally friendly, but also convenient to go anywhere. There are rental battery cars in various places in Yangshuo. The price can be negotiated with the boss, and it is generally calculated by the day. Yangshuo still has very appropriate safety protection measures for battery cars. The car rental owner said that as long as the battery car is parked in the parking area of the scenic spot according to regulations, it will not be lost even if it is not locked.

After settling down the food and accommodation problems near West Street, rent a battery car and start a mountain and water journey in Guilin. Yangshuo's scenery is roughly distributed on two lines, one along the Yulong River, and the other along the Shili Gallery.
First, let's talk about the beautiful scenery along the Yulong River. Riding a rented battery bike all the way along National Highway 321 for about an hour, you can reach the Xanadu Scenic Area. Listening to the beautiful name, I went straight to the scenic spot with infinite longing.
Xanadu Scenic Area is a scenic spot built artificially based on cruise ships and combined with Tao Yuanming's "Peach Blossom Garden". When the forest runs out of water, you will find a mountain. There is a small mouth in the mountain, as if there is light. Enter through the mouth. At first, he was extremely narrow, and his talents were able to understand others. After taking ten steps, the light suddenly became clear.

It takes about half an hour to enjoy the scenery by boat. If you park next to a house with ethnic characteristics, you need to get off the boat and visit on foot.


While sailing on the Taohua River, I heard the guide introduce this Camel Mountain. In addition to the two in the Li River and Qixing Mountain Scenic Area, the third Camel Mountain is here. Personally, I feel that this camel is far inferior to the one in Qixing Mountain with both form and spirit.


The totem pole with a strong ethnic minority style is surrounded by endless pastoral scenery behind it.


The scenic area will eventually allow tourists to pass through Yuanming Villa. In addition to introducing Tao Yuanming's life stories, the entire villa is also a vendor selling souvenirs. An hour and a half is enough to stroll around the entire scenic area. Personally, I feel that there are still many people in tour groups. If you come to Yangshuo for a tight time, this place can be abandoned. After all, it is far away from Yangshuo County and not very fun.


Returning from Xanadu Scenic Area along National Highway 321, you will first pass through Fuli Bridge. Fuli Bridge is not far from Jinlong Bridge, the starting point of the Yulong River bamboo raft rafting. It only takes about five minutes to ride a battery bike, but there are no obvious road signs at the intersection to Fuli Bridge, so you still have to read the navigation carefully.


Fuli Bridge is actually not a scenic spot, but an ancient bridge quietly guarded in the fields. As the clear Yulong River passes through it, the storied ancient bridge becomes more and more interesting, attracting tourists to come to enjoy and take photos.


The most in-depth experience of the charm of the Yulong River is also the most essence of Yangshuo travel, and that is bamboo raft rafting on the Yulong River. Different from the bamboo raft rafting of the Li River, the bamboo raft rafting of the Yulong River is manual boat support. According to the drifting time of the farthest Jinlong Bridge-Jiuxian section, it takes about two hours.



Giving tips online to the governor will slow him down and explain more to you, but there are eye-catching signs hanging next to the river that prohibit the governor from collecting tips privately. Presumably, the scenic area also managed this matter intentionally. I didn't mean to tip when riding the bamboo raft. Anyway, the man was neither cold nor hot, and there was a casual chat. In fact, I prefer to quietly enjoy the mountains and rivers, and I appreciate it without noisy interruptions.


The Yulong River has a total length of 43.5 kilometers, and there are many river sections drifting on the Yulong River, with different distances and different prices. There are one-way and round-trip ones. Among them, I feel that I should take the longest and most essential Jinlong Bridge-the Jiuxian River Section. This rafting bamboo raft is two-seater. If you ride alone, you will either compete with others on the raft or you will have to pay the fare of 255 yuan for two people, because this rafting is charged per bamboo raft.


Jinlong Bridge-The rafting in the Jiuxian River section is one-way, so if you ride a battery bike to Jinlong Bridge Pier, you need to find a local person at Jinlong Bridge Pier to ride the battery bike to Jiuxian Pier for you. It's about 30 yuan per car. You can bargain appropriately. If you need to recharge, you have to negotiate in advance whether to charge.
There is no procedure for local people to ride their rented battery cars to the old county. They just ask you to take your mobile phone and click for your keys. As for the safety of battery cars, don't worry too much. In Yangshuo, it seems to be an unwritten rule that no one will think about renting battery cars. This virtuous cycle indeed contributes to the development of Yangshuo's tourism industry.


Enjoy the comfort on the Yulong River. Really experience the boat traveling on the blue waves, and people swimming in paintings. It's a completely different feeling from rafting here on the Lijiang River!



Disembark at the old county terminal and there is no public transportation. There are also many rental battery cars next to the dock as usual, so you don't have to worry about not being able to continue playing.


After ending the rafting at the Yulong River Pier, I rode along the rural road and felt the embrace of Yangshuo mountains in another way.


The general route for navigation can be Jiuxian Wharf-Chaoyang Wharf-Jima Wharf-Gongnong Bridge Wharf. This cycling route will allow you to continue to be immersed in the beautiful mountains and rivers.


There is a small train shuttling between rice fields at Jima Wharf. Friends with children must not miss it. If the golden rice fields can meet the blue sky again, it can really be described as beautiful. When I saw the rice fields for the first time, I was attracted by the scenery in front of me. The weather made the photos look misty and quite different from the real scene.




Continue riding from Jima Wharf for 20 minutes to reach Gongnong Bridge Wharf. At this point, the journey to the Yulong River can come to an end. Gongnong Bridge is a link connecting the Yulong River and Shili Gallery. If it is still early to ride to Gongnong Bridge, you can continue to visit the scenic spots along the Shili Gallery.


The picture below is the Gongnong Bridge. Standing on the Gongnong Bridge to watch the sunrise and sunset is also an excellent location, so accommodation nearby will be slightly expensive.


Less than 1 kilometer away from Gongnong Bridge is Shili Gallery, a famous big banyan scenic spot that makes people complain about.


Do you still remember the big banyan tree in the primary school Chinese textbook? I think most people my age have seen their memories in childhood textbooks with their own eyes, as if this text was still required to be recited.


Da banyan Scenic Area and Moon Mountain Scenic Area are a tourism development company and you can buy joint tickets. The entire scenic spot will be over in less than half an hour. There are already too many complaints on the Internet, so I won't go into them here. In fact, every city will have a place where "you don't regret it, you will regret it even more". Perhaps this is the case in the Great Banyan Tree Scenic Area. I spent 15 yuan to come in just to take a look at the ancient banyan tree. This ancient banyan tree is more than 1400 years old. It is said that it was the bond between Sister Liu Sanjie, a song fairy from the Zhuang nationality in Guangxi, and her lover A Niuge.


Across the river from the big banyan tree is this mountain, with a singing platform at the foot of the mountain. The scenic spot will have folk songs singing performances at fixed times. If you want to get to the opposite mountain, you will have to pay an extra bamboo raft fee.


Say goodbye to the Da Banyan Scenic Area and continue riding on the battery bike for 5 minutes to reach the Julongtan Scenic Area.


Julongtan Scenic Area also feels like it belongs to tour groups. More people come. When you walk to the square in the picture below, you will find the check-in office. After checking in, there will be a tour guide. A group of about 10 to 20 people will first take a boat into the cave for two minutes, and then tour the entire cave with the tour guide mixed with sales sounds.



The only karst cave in Julongtan Yangshuo that can be visited both by land and water. Its total length is about one thousand meters and the tour time is about an hour. There are too many karst cave scenic spots in Guilin and Yangshuo. If Yinzi Rock and Reed Flute Rock have been planned during the itinerary, then Julongtan can be abandoned. It cannot be compared with the other two places.




If you haven't seen the wonders of the karst cave, the Julong Pond will still make people's eyes shine. But if you go to Yinziyan and Reed Flute Rock, then the scenery here will be nothing more than insignificant.


Ordinary rented battery cars can generally ride to the Moon Mountain Scenic Area of Shili Gallery. The Moon Mountain Scenic Area is also a classic and a must-see place around Shili Gallery. If you don't want to climb the mountain or buy tickets for Moon Mountain, there is a village along the way that you can enjoy it from a distance to satisfy tourists 'mood for taking photos. However, it is best for this village to have a guide to lead the way.


Moon Mountain is a wonderful sight in Yangshuo, with a height of more than 380 meters. Because there is a big hole running through the top of the mountain, like a bright moon, high and bright, people call it Mingyue Peak, commonly known as Moon Mountain.


Tickets for Moon Mountain are not expensive. After buying tickets, visitors can follow an 800-level climbing path directly to Moon Cave. This moon cave is oddly large, with a height and width of 50 meters, but the mountain wall is only a few meters thick.


It takes about 40 minutes to climb Moon Mountain. After climbing and looking far away, you can overlook Yangshuo's mountains and rivers and pastoral villages. This is the place where US President Nixon and his wife visited.




If the rented battery car is already low on electricity, then you will have to take a taxi further away from Yueliang Mountain. Ruyi Peak is a new attraction developed by Shaanxi Tourism Group in recent years. It is about a 10-minute taxi ride from the Moon Mountain Scenic Area. If you are from Yangshuo County, there will be a one-day tour group to pick up and drop off directly.


Ruyi Peak is an emerging tourist attraction in Yangshuo in recent years. In addition to tour groups, there are also many individual tourists who come here. Because he takes the cable car up the mountain, he saves a lot of physical strength. He can not only easily visit Yangshuo, but also climb high and play. However, the ticket price is high and costs about 100 yuan.


After getting off the cable car and following the crowd, you can see the mountain peak at the other end of the suspension bridge from afar. When there is a large passenger flow, you can browse in a single way and you cannot return the same way. Therefore, when you meet scenic area security guards at every fork, you must consult in advance.


Climb the highest circular viewing platform on Ruyi Peak and have a panoramic view of the beautiful scenery around you. The road is like a giant python, piercing into the heart of Yangshuo's mountains without hesitation.


Coming down from the highest circular observation deck, the downhill road is farther and more difficult than the uphill road. However, in order to divert tourists and avoid congestion, scenic spot security guards are not allowed to go back. Halfway up the mountain there are slides under construction and glass plank roads that have been built. Because the glass plank road is at a fork in the road, it is not the same road as the scenic exit, and the glass plank road requires an extra charge. Personally, I was not particularly interested in this because I have been to many scenic spots, so I ignored it. Even if the cable car gets up and down the entire Ruyi Peak Scenic Area, it takes about two to three hours.


Eight kilometers away from Ruyi Peak and still takes ten minutes to drive is Yinziyan. Yinziyan has reached the junction of Yangshuo and Lipu, but is actually already in the Lipu area. This is also the farthest scenic spot from Yangshuo County I can take a taxi to. Rental battery cars don't seem to be able to get here.


The Yinzi Rock runs through 12 peaks and has now been developed for a distance of 2000 meters. It is divided into three parts: the lower cave, the hall and the upper cave. There are 28 beautiful and beautiful scenic spots in the cave. The unique natural landscape can be called magical craftsmanship. The scenic spot even uses the homophonic sound of "silver" to slogan "Come to Yinziyan, you will never lack money in your life."


The entire journey to the huge cave takes more than two hours, and you can rent an interpreter at the check-in counter. I thought that the cave should be warm in winter and cool in summer, but even in November, it was still very hot in the cave. Fortunately, the scenic area is relatively humane. There are many huge fans placed along the cave to relieve the heat of tourists during their visit.


Yinziyan Scenic Area is like a huge natural bonsai, surrounded by mountains. The scenic area has Guilin's largest Hongya Rock Climbing Base, Yinziyan Restaurant, etc. In addition to sightseeing, it is also suitable for vacations, company group building and other activities. The scale, facilities, services, and especially the craftsmanship in the karst cave are quite satisfactory, comparable to the Ludi Rock Scenic Area in downtown Guilin.



These are basically the two classic Yangshuo tourist routes. Of course, there are some scenic spots such as the Totem Ancient Road and Butterfly Spring that I have neglected to visit. According to local people, those small scenic spots are generally taken by tour groups and more people, so I can't comment on anything. These matters vary.
The Shili Gallery originally banned motor vehicles, but this year due to the epidemic, it was not strictly guarded. If the entire Ten Mile Gallery only had bicycles and battery cars coming and going, without the roaring of motor vehicles, the experience should be more perfect.



In addition to its rich natural scenery, Yangshuo also has a well-known domestic large-scale real-life landscape performance of "Impression of Third Sister Liu" directed by Zhang Yimou. There are two to three performances every night, and the ticket prices vary according to seat location, with the cheapest one costing nearly 200 yuan. After watching the show, there will be a battery car directly to West Street for 10 yuan per person. If you drive there, be mentally prepared for traffic jams.




The best seats in the entire theater should be slightly back in the middle, because of the viewing angle, you can enjoy the entire lighting and the beautiful effect of the stage. If it is not in the peak season, you can find an empty seat to enjoy the performance after the opening. I was sitting in the first row, but the effect was not very good. The huge stereo blocked part of my vision.




"Impression of Sister Liu" was sung in the language of ethnic minorities throughout the entire process. The actors sang and danced, and the lineup was huge. However, perhaps due to the language barrier, I couldn't understand the meaning of the lyrics. I could only feel the legend of Sister Liu from the voices of the actors.


This performance drama came out in 2005, and at that time I remembered seeing its promotional videos often on TV. Suddenly, 15 years have passed. Although the performance is still quite shocking, time has no room for it. The lighting and sound effects of 15 years ago now seem a little mediocre, especially since Yangshuo has introduced another performance theater. In contrast, the reputation of "Impression of Third Sister Liu" is not as good as before.


The one that competes "Impression of Third Sister Liu" is "Eternal Love in Guilin". It is a performing arts tourism brand created by Songcheng Performing Arts Company. In many cities across the country, it combines local folk legends and historical culture, and uses modern stage technology effects to create a cultural park integrating performing arts, interactive entertainment, and accommodation.


The ticket price of "Guilin Eternal Love" is not cheap either, but compared to "Impression of Third Sister Liu", the price is much higher. Eighty percent of the value of the ticket price is generated in the "Guilin Ancient Love Theater" in the picture below.


The performance of "Guilin Eternal Love" also varies according to different seats and ticket prices. During the performance, there are constantly late tourists entering the venue. The staff patiently guides and maintains order, so that the performance will not have too much impact. According to my experience, even if there are free seats inside, I'm afraid there will be staff management and people will not change seats at will after the performance starts.


The performance of the Eternal Love is divided into several paragraphs, including characteristic dances showing the customs of ethnic minorities in Guangxi, and tear-jerking scenes of the Qin soldiers building a spiritual canal. Every chapter and paragraph will arouse bursts of applause from the audience, and exclamations and screams will come one after another.


As well-dressed actors walked past the audience, tourists picked up their mobile phones to record the beauty of that moment.


The dancers 'elegant dancing movements are touching. Jokingly speaking, after watching the actors 'dances, I seemed to understand a little why the emperors always danced with joy after women danced in the past.


According to the instructions of the program schedule in the park, there will still be an audience on stage to interact and participate in the role in the Grand Theater, with the theme of the Wenchuan earthquake. Audiences participating in the performance randomly raised their hands to sign up for the performance. Of course, they were all role roles, but they increased the participation and experience of tourists. After the performance, they could also receive stills of everyone taken by the theater staff.


After watching the unforgettable performances, there will also be some pop-ups, puppet shows and other performances at fixed times in the park, which is also very suitable for families to play with their children. Accommodation in the park is convenient. If you have enough time, you can spend half a day or even a day in the park. But if you just want to watch Qiangu Qing perform, you can ignore other performing arts. However, personally I still recommend playing in the park for a while.


The park looks even more gorgeous at night under the gorgeous lights. Friends who drive by themselves can stay here for more time. It is not far from Yangshuo County, and it takes only ten to twenty minutes to drive.


The more famous cultural performances in Yangshuo are "Impression of Third Sister Liu" and "Guilin Eternal Love". Tickets for both performances are expensive. If you only want to choose one to watch, I personally recommend "Guilin Eternal Love".



Since I lived in Yangshuo County, I chose the Yangshuo Landscape Garden Scenic Area, which is a five-minute walk from Yangshuo West Street, during the half day before leaving Yangshuo. It was rebuilt from the original Binjiang Park and has a history of more than 1400 years. Now the Bilian Peak in the park cannot be climbed due to renovation.


Yangshuo Shanshui Park is a park with a cultural heritage. There are two floors of Yingjiang Pavilion. Looking out from every angle, you can see a beautiful scenery, with different scenery. Premier Zhou Enlai also took photos here, and I also specially asked my father to imitate Premier Zhou's pose and take a photo in the same position.


Looking at the Li River in the Shanshui Garden, there is less noise and more comfort.


There are many stone carvings along the mountain road and have a long history.


The most interesting thing is the stone carving with the character "belt" below. On the platform close to the exit of the scenic spot.




If you don't climb Bilian Peak in Yangshuo Shanshui Garden, you can visit it in less than an hour. Remember to enter from the West Street door, but still return from the original way, because the other gate is a little far away from West Street. From this gate to the Li River, you can also see the stone carvings of the word "Yangshuo" that many celebrities once remembered here.


? Near West Street, there are also some free attractions such as Xu Beihong's former residence and Sun Yat-sen's Lecture Office. Although these are not worth visiting specially, if you are like me and have not much time left to leave Yangshuo, you might as well go here. Take a walk and experience Yangshuo's cultural history.


Xu Beihong's former residence is very small, with a few houses and an ancient tree in the yard. It can be said to be a magnificent place. If you want to visit this place, be sure to see the opening hours, which are the same as all museums, and are closed on Mondays.


Sun Yat-sen's Lecture Office has now become an anti-drug publicity and education base in Yangshuo.



The soul of Guilin's mountains and rivers lies in Yangshuo. This small county town lacks the air of urban concrete and still retains its world-class beauty. The mountains here are not the most beautiful, and the water may not be the most beautiful either, but when mountains and water are combined into one picture, Yangshuo must be the only one in the world!
When you come to Guangxi, you can not go to Guilin City or Xingping Ancient Town, but you must come to Yangshuo. The scenery is different all year round, with mountains and water morning and evening!
