Speaking of Guangxi, the first thing that comes to mind is that Guilin's mountains and rivers are the best in the world, and everything you can see is beautiful scenery. However, the destination I am going to this time is not Yangshuo West Street in Guilin, nor is it the Lijiang Shili Gallery, but an ethnic minority village deep in the mountains,"Longsheng Guangnan Village". This place may be unfamiliar to everyone. Guangnan is a village inhabited by Dong people. Since the Dong people do not have their own writing, the development history of Dong Village is passed down orally from generation to generation or sporadic records in surrounding history. So it's very mysterious and ancient.
This trip to Guangxi happened to meet the annual traditional festival of the Dong people, the "Dong Year". I am very looking forward to celebrating the Dong Year, appreciating folk customs, eating oil tea and me. Let's go and experience the Dong Festival together.

The houses in the village are gangran-style pening-legged buildings, lined up in rows and neatly arranged. They are all built of fir trees. The top of the mountain is covered with small green tiles, which is simple and practical.

The world's largest Changfa Village, Huangluo Hongyao Village
It takes about an hour and a half from Guilin Airport to arrive at the "Huangluo Hongyao Village", the world's number one Changfa Village near the Longji Terrace. Huangluo Hongyao Village is backed by Longji Mountain and faces the Jinjiang River. It is where the Longji terraces begin to spiral upwards. It is a village with only more than 60 households and the only Yao village among the 13 Longji Villages. It is inhabited by all Red Yao people.
Walking through the small wooden bridge, you will arrive at Hongyao Village. Compared with other thirteen villages, this place is less lively, but more primitive and simple. Three or three tourists occasionally pass by. The whole village is not long. There is only one street. After walking for about twenty minutes, there are local specialty fabrics and silver ornaments on the side of the street, as well as Hongyao's sister-in-law sitting around to talk about their parents.
Red Yao women, whether young or old, all have beautiful long hair, so the average length of women's hair exceeds 1.4 meters, and the longest one is 1.7 meters long. They have also won the title of "Guinness Group's Best Long Hair".
It is said that they only cut their hair twice in their lives, once when they were infants for a hundred days, and once when they were at the age of eighteen. After they were eighteen, they would no longer cut their hair and grow their hair for the rest of their lives and wrap it up. Although they are all wrapped up in hair, they are also very particular. The hair of unmarried women of the Red Yao nationality is wrapped around their heads and wrapped in black cloth. Only their family members can see their long hair. If outsiders want to see their hair, they must marry her.
Although Hongyao Village is not large, it has the most distinctive folk performances and is worth seeing. Yao girls dressed in red ethnic costumes sang sweet folk songs and walked down from the Diaojiao Tower to show off their long black and bright hair. The performance mainly focused on the love customs of the Red Yao people, and tourists from the stage were invited to participate in the interaction. From signaling love, drinking wine to entering the wedding room, the Yao girls would finally show off the secrets of how to take care of their hair.
Longji Jinzhu Zhuangzhai, original ecological B & B
Jinzhu Zhuang Village, about 20 kilometers away from Hongyao Village, is the "first village" of the 13 Longji Village. It is located in the Longji Terrace Scenic Area. Jinzhu Zhuang Village is named for its golden bamboo forest. We arrived a little late and checked directly into the Longji Jinzhu B & B in the scenic area. The style of the B & B combines Zhuang cultural elements, exquisite yet simple charm. Every room and floor here has its own feelings, and at the same time You can also taste the local specialty food, Camellia oleifera, sour pork, Bamboo bucket rice and so on…
Ancient wooden buildings and old locks
Beyond the prosperity, Longji Jinzhu B & B, which lives next to the mountains
Here, look for the long-lost peace and freedom in your heart
In the mountain view, enjoy a cup of fragrant oil tea, or watch a curtain of wind and rain. It is a slow time of "stealing a floating life for half a day". As long as you sit quietly, your heart will float with the tea soup mist in front of you. With the flowing and light music in your ears, spend the whole dusk in a cup of tea, and watch the stars in the sky in half a dream.
There are nine Zhuang Ganlan-style hanging wooden buildings in the B & B. The decoration in the rooms is elegant and unique, and there are many old objects. Old teapots printed with red culture, old wooden boxes, ancient embroidery, and full of sense of the times. Standing on the balcony, you can see the terraced landscape, which is integrated with the surrounding nature. The butlers are all local sisters-in-law, who are simple and enthusiastic. The house is equipped with a traditional Zhuang "stove hall" kitchen and lounge, and the bathroom is equipped with high-end bathroom and bathtub.
Newlywed Yan Erfang
Experience the local Huotang culture and sit around with friends and family at night to chat and chat. Sister-in-law bakes fragrant bamboo bucket rice and original glutinous rice cake, which you can taste for free! You can also drink Camellia oleifera made by your Zhuang sister.
The original firewood stove and Lao Toumo can live a day here in a foreign country, find a lost memory, gain a friendship in a foreign country, breathe the fresh air of the local area, and experience the original culture and customs of the foreign country.
Taste a bowl of delicious Zhuangjia Camellia oleifera, one cup of bitter, two cups of bitter (astringent), and three cups of four cups of good Camellia oleifera. If you don't eat Camellia oleifera, it's not perfect to come here. Drinking Camellia oleifera must be accompanied by a variety of snacks, plus a variety of fried and stir-fried foods, as well as special coarse grain cakes. Eating a bite of Camellia oleifera snacks in winter is really beautiful.
I especially recommend the bamboo rice here. It is delicious and fragrant. It is made of wild tender bamboo in the mountains filled with glutinous rice that has been soaked for more than 3 hours, and then steamed under water. Because the bamboo is very tender and tender, the bamboo rice made is also very delicious. Only here, you can truly feel the unique local delicacy and all the beauty brought by nature.

Longsheng Jiangkou Dong Village, Thousands of People Pipa Competition
It takes about three hours to drive from Jinzhu Zhuangzhai to Guangnan Village, where I was longing for it. Thinking that I could just take a nap on the road, and before I could fully fall asleep, I was attracted by the lively voices. It turned out that December 15, which is the first day of the 11th lunar month, is the most important festival for the Dong people. More than 1000 Dong people from the three provinces (districts) of "Guangxi, Hunan and Guizhou" held pipa song competitions and performances in Jiangkou Village, Lejiang Town, Longsheng Autonomous County, Guangxi. Celebrate the traditional Dong festival "Dong Year" in a unique way for the Dong people.
The scene was also very lively. Under the Drum Tower in Jiangkou Village, the sudden drop in weather still could not stop the enthusiasm of the Dong family. Many Dong family members dressed in costumes came one after another. The exquisite and beautiful costumes and the pipa in their hands made everyone raise their cameras and mobile phones in their hands to "focus" them.
An audio-visual feast officially began. Song and dance troupes from all over the country took the stage one after another, playing moving songs with the pipa in their hands, showing the red memory of inheriting the traditional culture of the Dong people, while at the same time, poverty alleviation songs also played the most important role in the nation. Sound.
Guangnan Dong Village celebrates the Year of the Dong Dynasty, with unique folk customsBefore entering the village, I heard the sound of gongs and drums. After passing through good mountains and rivers, I finally arrived at the thousand-year-old village "Guangnan Village". Coincidentally, we are catching up with the Dong Year here. The old Year has passed and the New Year has arrived. The first day of the eleventh lunar month every year is the traditional festival of the Dong people-the Dong Year. This is also the most solemn and lively scene of the Dong people in Guangnan Village, Pingding Town, Longsheng Autonomous County, Guangxi. Men, women and old, dressed in national costumes, carry out folk patrols in the Drum Tower, playing pipa songs, playing New Year cakes, dancing grass dragons and lions, stepping on the hall with Lusheng, eating hundreds of families and other special folk activities.
The folk activities in the Dong Year began with the worship of ancestors. The people of Guangnan respected their ancestors very much and worshipped the stove and land. The Yin and Yang master decided the food to bring on this day, and the person who managed the Satang was responsible for preparing tea. In the Drum Tower, a village old read out auspicious words and prayed for the well-being of the village. Everyone echoed and roared three times, then ate tea. Finally, everyone sat around and enjoyed food, wine and meat, which meant that everyone celebrated the New Year with their ancestors.
Dong compatriots celebrated the New Year, and the scene was also very lively and unprecedented. Among the Dong festivals, the Dong Year is the largest and most solemn festival. Just like the Spring Festival of the Han nationality, in 2011, the "Dong Year" was included in the third batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
The performances are also one after another. Singing and dancing make the Dong New Year famous. The people of Guangnan are good at singing and dancing. Those who can walk can dance, and those who can talk can sing. They are known as the "opera nest" and the "hometown of song and dance". Dozens of national musical instruments, songs and dances are circulated here, with pipa, Yanping tune, Gui opera, Dong opera, Cai tune, Dong song, Duoye and Lusheng being the most popular.
Guangnan Village is also extremely rich in operas, songs and dances, which are very rare in ordinary times. Only during the Dong Year in Guangnan Village can you see the grand scenery.
Guangnan Grass Dragon, this is the first time I have truly seen a dragon made of grass. It is also the most beautiful grass dragon in Guangxi. It is listed as an autonomous region-level intangible cultural heritage project and has a rich cultural background and folk historical origin. From unique weaving materials to exquisite artistic shapes, it seems to be the dancing Buddha's light spirituality. Its birth began a thousand years ago with a big glutinous rice seed, which is Rongpa white... .
It may seem simple, but it requires millions of glutinous rice stalks to weave. It takes more than 200 work days to make a 20-meter-long grass dragon. It takes more than 3000 scales to make, which requires glutinous rice stalks. More than 120 kilograms, converted into roots, is no less than 1 million. Glutinous rice stalks are the main material. In addition, bamboo strips, rattan, wooden strips and other materials are needed. A complete grass dragon weighs no less than 150 kilograms ", and the weaving process is complex and exquisite.
All major festivals of the Dong people are held in the Drum Tower. The Drum Tower is the symbol of the Dong Village. The entire building is shaped like a four-story eaves flying corner and a tile-topped tower shaped pavilion. Most of them are built in the middle of the stockade. Dozens to hundreds of square meters of bluestone and rock flats are built in front of the building. In ancient times, a large drum was placed in the building, and various messages were used to beat the drum to serve as a trumpet. The whole village could hear it, hence the name Drum Tower.
Folk activities in the Dong Year were held from day to night. After the Baijia Banquet, Duoye was a group song and dance of the Dong people. Everyone sang and danced around the bonfire, and then formed a large circle. The steps were neat. The male voice led the singing, and the crowd ended with harmony. Just like our usual bonfire parties, it was very cheerful and exciting.
Dong Village cuisine, Camellia oleifera, sour pork
Longsheng Autonomous County in Guangxi has a rich ethnic customs and unique food culture. The local food habits are "Dong does not leave sour" and "Dong does not leave fish." In addition to three sour acids, the oil tea here is a must-try. Dong people like to drink oil tea. It has a history of thousands of years. It is also one of the best specialties for the Dong people to entertain guests and friends.
After watching the performance, everyone gathered together to talk to their parents. It was also a happy thing to eat Camellia oleifera and taste Dong Village delicacies.
It is particularly happy to have a Dong New Year meal here. Among them, sour pork, sour duck meat, and sour fish are the "Three Treasures of the Dong family" in the Dong family's cuisine. Those with the "Three Treasures" are generally large families, so we experienced it once. The treatment of a large family, haha, this is just a saying here. In fact, tourists who come here can taste these special delicacies.
Guangnan Village, Shuimu Dong Village, a thousand-year-old village
Guangnan Village is a beautiful mountain village inhabited by the Dong people embedded in the northwest of Longsheng Autonomous County, Guangxi. It is surrounded by mountains, fertile land, wide Tiandong, beautiful mountains and rivers, and beautiful scenery. Dong culture is rich and rich. It also has unique Dong architectural culture such as the historical Drum Tower, Fengyu Bridge, Shitiao Bridge, ancient wooden buildings, ancient temples, ancient wells, and ancient pavilions.
I have been here for two days and haven't visited Guangnan Village well. I walked along the path paved with polished and silted bluestone slabs. The simple wooden buildings on both sides of the street are like ancient and rare old people, telling the history of thousands of years. The word "Fu" inlaid with pebbles on the canals of Shiban Street, the flying eaves and carvings on the wooden upstairs... are all representatives of the happiest life here.
Dong brocade is the most distinctive handmade weaving technique here. Its history can be traced back to the Spring and Autumn and Warring States Dynasties more than 2,000 years ago. From the Han Dynasty to the Tang and Song Dynasties, the textile and printing and dyeing processes of the Dong ancestors have formed their own unique style. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, with the formation of the Dong nation and the increasingly mature national traditional culture, the Dong brocade weaving skills have also been greatly developed. Every Dong brocade here is purely handmade, and the colors and patterns are very exquisite and beautiful. You can give it to others or bring it yourself.
Every Dong Village has a wind and rain bridge, and Guangnan Village is not included. There are 10 ancient wind and rain bridges of large and small sizes in Guangnan. The most famous wind and rain bridge is Shenpo Wind and Rain Bridge, located 500 meters north of the village. On the Guangnan River, it was built in the fourth year of Jiaqing of the Qing Dynasty (AD 1799). The bridge is 40 meters long and 6 meters wide, with a total of 10 rooms.
The bridge is a four-pillar terraced building. One room in the middle of the corridor is equipped with two suspended and installed shrines, which are dedicated to gods such as Guan Gong. The murals on the back include dragon king, unicorn, cloud, etc. The bridge is built with three three-story flying eaves and angled bridge pavilions that are taller than the bridge body. The beams, squares, and wind eaves inside the bridge are carved with pictures of flowers, birds, animals, etc. The Shenpo Wind and Rain Bridge is the oldest surviving wind and rain bridge in Guangxi. It is more than a hundred years older than the famous Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge in Sanjiang.
Keep walking along the Dongzhai River and you won't get lost. Although the stockade is not big, it is complex and intertwined. There are many paths that people who are not locals can't walk there. I also found that it is built by water when I reached the river. The terrain of Guangnan Village is roughly high in all directions and low in the middle. The mountain direction is northeast-southwest. The Pingding River and Liuli River run through Guangnan, and they merge at the end of Jiajiang Village and rush towards Guangxiao and Longtang. It is the main river that moistens Guangnan Dong Village.
The building of Guangnan Dong Village has the unique architectural style of the Dong people. The houses where the residents live are like five-pillar, three-bedroom, three-story tiled wooden buildings. The front eaves are mostly double-layered cornice, and the two ends are connected by double-eaves hanging column corridors, forming a side building. Row upon row, standing on the vast Tiandong, it is spectacular.
The tranquility and tranquility of Guangnan Village are what many people yearn for. If you are tired and tired, you don't want to come here to enjoy the simple life of the Dong people.
