We all know that Guilin's mountains and rivers are the best in the world, but have you ever heard that Yangshuo's mountains and rivers are the best in Guilin? The Baili Li River can be said to be the essence of Guilin's soul, and this section is from Yangdi to Xingping.

Lijiang Scenic Area is a world natural heritage site and the largest and most beautiful karst landscape tourist area in the world. The Li River, also known as the Guishui River, breeds a unique and world-renowned natural landscape of Guilin.

So which one is the so-called best viewing point? If I ask you, in fact, when you walk down from several points, the angles are all the same. The 20-yuan background picture is originally a long-term perspective, so there is no best viewing point. It is a gimmick created by the merchants.

I still feel sorry to look at the increasingly commercialized Li River. The Li River is full of the smell of copper, which is completely incompatible with the mountains and rivers of Guilin. In addition to collecting money for photos, there are even people who know that tourists do not have 20 yuan banknotes, so they provide 20 yuan to take photos, but they charge 5 yuan, which is really a scam.

So more often, I stand on the shore and quietly admire the scenery of the Li River. As for the bamboo rafts, I look at the Li River that is about to block boats, but I still give up when I think about it, because in my impression, the scenery of the Li River is to be quietly appreciated. Only then can I taste its beauty.

The essence section of the Li River we often talk about is the section from Yangdi to Xingping. Xingping is an ancient town in Yangshuo full of memories and stories. Xingping Ancient Town is not large in scale, but the ancient village relatively completely retains the unique local ancient buildings such as ancient bridges, ancient ferries, and ancient stage. When talking about where the most beautiful sunset in Guilin is, many people will think of Laozhai Mountain. This place is regarded as Yangshuo's first sunset viewing platform and is a favorite place for many photography enthusiasts.

Yangshuo has two most famous mountains, Laozhai Mountain and Xianggong Mountain. The former watches the sunset, and the latter watches the sunrise. After arriving in Guilin, locals also recommended that they must go to Laozhai Mountain to see the sunset on the Li River, but this Laozhai Mountain is not as easy to climb as imagined.

Laozhai Mountain is located in Xingping Ancient Town. After swimming the Li River and watching the 20-yuan Observation Platform, you can reach the foot of Laozhai Mountain in 10 minutes along the road. When I reached the top of Laozhai Mountain, the view was completely different from that of the halfway up the mountain. Although Xianggong Mountain is more famous than Laozhai Mountain, people who know how to play will come to Laozhai Mountain to have a panoramic view of the Li River.

It is said that Yangshuo is a city that never sleeps, and the center of this city that never sleeps is West Street. West Street is the place where many young people come to Yangshuo. West Street is relatively ordinary during the day, but it is brightly lit at night. This is what it really looks like.

This old street, called "West Street", is only about 800 meters long. It is all paved with stone slabs. The Ming and Qing buildings on both sides reveal the atmosphere of the old street. West Street is the oldest street in Yangshuo County, with a history of more than 1400 years. At night, the lights are brightly lit, and the night view can be said to be the most beautiful scenery on West Street.

West Street is the place where foreigners gather the most and was once called Foreign Street. When Guilin's mountains and rivers were sought after by Western tourists, they also discovered the West Street. At the same time, they showed a strong interest in the simple and elegant local houses, traditional culture, and folk customs. The night view of West Street can also be literary and artistic. On the bridge at the entrance of West Street, there are many prayer signs hanging. Everyone made a wish along the Li River and hung them on West Street. It is about love and family affection. It exudes a romantic atmosphere all the time.

In fact, aside from its identity as a bar street, West Street is actually an ancient street exuding a strong historical and cultural atmosphere. This is also the place where Sun Yat-sen gave a speech. Art masters Zhang Daqian, Xu Beihong and others all lived or lived on this old street.

Today, West Street has become a business card of Yangshuo's international tourism style. The restaurants and bars on both sides retain the tradition of combining Chinese and Western countries. Among the many scenery on the Li River, the Yulong River is my favorite. In the Yulong River, which is known as the Little Li River, it is not that the Li River is better than the Li River. Take a bamboo raft and go down with the trend and quietly admire the scenery on both sides of the Li River.

If the Li River is compared to a lady from a big family, then the Yulong River is the jade from a small family. In addition to traveling on a big boat to the Li River, you also have to travel on a bamboo raft to swim the Yulong River to make the trip worthwhile. Take a bamboo raft to visit the section of the river from Chaoyang Wharf to Gongnong Bridge. This is a condensation of the essence of the Yulong River. It is famous for its beautiful mountains, green waters, green bamboo, green bridges and strange villages. It is a rare beauty in Guilin's mountains and rivers and the best reflection of Yangshuo's scenery.

The reason why I prefer the Yulong River to the Li River is because on the Yulong River, it is the most primitive way to truly enjoy the mountains and rivers of Guilin on a bamboo raft. The bamboo rafts and cruise ships on the Li River are all equipped with motors. Sitting on the raft, you can only hear the noisy sound of the engine, but drifting in the Yulong River, all you can hear is the sound of nature.

However, as the popularity of the Yulong River has increased, there are more and more bamboo rafts here. Almost all of them are bamboo rafts. I remember when I came here four years ago, there were not so many bamboo rafts. Sure enough, a place is more crowded when more people recognize it. Fortunately, as long as you set out from the dock, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Li River alone.

The Yulong River is the longest tributary of the Li River in Yangshuo. The entire Yulong River Scenic Area does not have any so-called modern buildings, no traces of artificial carving, or any urban hustle. Everything is so primitive, natural, simple and pure. The breeze blew across the water, creating ripples. Raft workers sang Guilin folk songs on the tail of the bamboo rafts. The echoes of the songs echoed throughout the landscape of the Li River. Compared with the roar of the Li River, I prefer the Yulong River. Feeling gentle and quiet.

Even if you don't have to ride a raft, you can still enjoy the scenery on both sides of the Shili Gallery from the bridge on the shore. No matter where it is, it is the most essential part.

Some experts once said that the Yulong River is a common natural heritage of the world. The pastoral scenery on both sides of the Taiwan Strait is pleasing to the eye. The oasis of Tianping and the reflection of Pinghu... make people seem to have entered the poetic realm of the unity of man and nature, returning to the free world of nature. If you want to travel the mountains and rivers of Guilin on a bamboo raft, I would recommend you come to the Yulong River instead of the Li River.

Yangshuo, Guilin is very rich in natural landscapes. Among them is a pastoral avenue with mountains and rivers. The name is also very beautiful. It is called Shili Gallery, named after the picturesque scenery along the road. Shili Gallery is located in Yueliang Mountain in Yangshuo. There is an attraction every few hundred meters. Friends who have time can spend a day here to stroll around slowly.

In the Shili Gallery Scenic Area, in addition to the round-trip sightseeing buses, you can only choose electric bicycles, bicycles or self-driving cars. However, the number of sightseeing buses is very small and can almost be ignored. It is unrealistic to ride a bicycle on a hot day. There is no car and no want to follow the group. I decisively chose an electric bike, which later found to be the wisest choice.

Because there are many scenic spots along the way, parking is also a troublesome matter. The most cars I saw along the way were the buses of tourist groups. I rented a small electric donkey near the B & B, and it took only about 20 minutes to ride all the way to Shili Gallery, and the road to Shili Gallery was very smooth and easy to ride. Although the temperature is high, the cool breeze blowing when the car is riding is very comfortable.

Enter the Shili Gallery Scenic Area and walk through the Ancient Totem Road, which tells the historical stories and knowledge of Guilin's ancestors living, living, hunting and refining skin culture here 10,000 years ago. There is also a sea of flowers nearby, and you will see the first scenic spot, Butterfly Spring.

There is a big butterfly statue at the entrance of Butterfly Spring. It is very beautiful, but there is a cave inside. It crosses a iron chain bridge and takes a small path on the mountain to reach the performance area. The only highlight is to watch Miao Dong's performance.

Butterfly Spring is also known as the world's number one butterfly. Standing on the high platform, you can overlook the beautiful Guilin peaks.

Huidiquan is drifting in the Yulong River, and after crossing the Yulong River, you will find the Big Banyan Scenic Spot. The biggest selling point is that the movie "Third Sister Liu" was filmed here. They threw hydrangea under the tree and fixed their lives. Therefore, this thousand-year-old banyan tree is also known as the "love tree", and locals also call it the "cash cow".

This tree is a forest by itself, 17 meters high, covering an area of more than 1000 square meters, which is bigger than two basketball courts. If you are curious, you can spend 20 yuan to go in and have a look at this big banyan tree. It is said that it did witness the love of a mortal couple and tie the knot for a happy life.

The end of the Shili Gallery is Moon Mountain. There is a large circular cave on the top of the mountain. There is a rocky mountain above and green trees below. From a distance, it looks like a crescent moon. From different angles, it looks like a crescent moon on different days. So it is called Moon Mountain.

Along the way, I also learned the routine of Shili Gallery, which is that each attraction has to collect separate tickets. Although the tickets for individual attractions are not expensive, it will cost one to two hundred yuan, so many attractions decide whether to go in and see it based on their interest.

On the way back, I pass through Jinshui Rock Scenic Area. Jinshui Rock is Yangshuo's largest, most distinctive and world-famous underground river crystal cave. It crosses three mountains and is about five kilometers long. The cave has three floors and is divided into three areas, namely the dry cave paradise area, the mud bath area, and the underground river hot spring area. The stalactites in the cave are majestic and abrupt, crisscrossing, like a "dragon palace".

Walking back, you will also pass by Julongtan, located between the big banyan tree and the moon mountain. It is the only cave in Yangshuo that can be visited by water and land. The cave changes with more than 40 scenery, which makes people feel dizzying, as if traveling in the Crystal Dragon Palace.

Because of the numerous peaks, Yangshuo is also an outdoor sports resort. The most famous one is the outdoor rock climbing at Jinmao Mountain. This is a real cliff rock climbing. With special coach guidance, climbing on huge rocks gives you a sense of accomplishment. Many children and foreigners like to try it.

Shili Gallery is the most beautiful natural landscape avenue I have ever seen. The air here is fresh and the scenery is beautiful. I am humming a tune on a bicycle. The scene in front of me is as picturesque and dreamy. It is said that the President of the United States once came here to ride a bicycle to the big banyan tree. In Shili Gallery, even if you take a casual walk, you can enjoy the strange peaks, beautiful waters and pastoral scenery along the way.

Speaking of Guilin's food, what's the first thing that comes to mind? What I thought of was beer fish, so the first meal I came to Guilin was beer fish. I searched for a high-rated beer fish online, called Sister Xie Beer Fish, and bought a set meal, called the family dustpan banquet. It was only 108 yuan. For four people, each person was less than 30 yuan. The price was extremely high.

There are four dishes on a bamboo plate, with authentic Guilin beer fish in the middle and four small dishes on the side, namely bamboo tube rice, roasted chicken, vegetables and braised pork with dried vegetables that look a little like dried plum. I have to say that this beer fish tastes delicious.

I don't know exactly what this dish is called. Although the leaves look black, they are crispy and delicious when bitten.

This is Guilin's specialty bamboo tube rice. The bamboo leaves wrapped in it are opened, and the aroma of glutinous rice inside is strong.

The jelly and watermelon in the store are self-service style, and you can eat as much as you want. You must know that Guilin is extremely hot in August, and this bowl of heart-cooling is all that is lacking.

The passion fruit ordered is also very delicious and very original.

How can you come to Guilin without having a bowl of rice flour? When you get up in the morning, you will have a bowl of roasted pork flour. This is the real breakfast in Guilin. However, the bowl I made is a bit expensive. It costs 12 yuan. Normally, a bowl on the West Street only costs 5 yuan.

The summer ticket to and from Shanghai to Guilin is still a bit expensive. Remember to start early. The round-trip ticket is around 1500 yuan, and you can get it for 1000 yuan.
Take the high-speed train from Guilin North Railway Station to Yangshuo Station. There are buses to Xingping Town and West Street respectively. The fare is 10 yuan and 25 yuan respectively, but it is only 10 yuan from Xingping Town to West Street. It is recommended to visit Xingping Town first and then to West Street.

There are many accommodation options near Yangshuo, ranging from youth hostels costing more than ten yuan to hotels costing several hundred yuan. It is also recommended to live near Xijie, which has convenient transportation and nightlife. I stayed in an inn for many people, which was cost-effective.
