[Introduction to Lantian]
At present, there are two branches of the Yao people in Lantian, Panyao and Hongyao, and their ethnic origins are as follows: The Yao people in Lantian mainly live in Nan'ao, Lantian, and the surname of Zhao in Lianghhe. They moved from Haiyang Ping, Lechang County, Shaozhou Prefecture, Guangdong Province during the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties to Zhaoping, Lingui, Xing' an and other places and moved to Lingchuan to live in Lantian. In the forty-seventh year of Kangxi, they entered the Shantan King of Nan'ao, Lantian Township. Commonly known as Haiyang Pingpan Yao. According to their ethnic records, the two surnames Pan and Deng were both born in Lechang County, Shaozhou Prefecture, Guangdong Province. During the Jingtai period of the Ming Dynasty, they moved to Xing 'an to live in the rhinoceros and oxen moonshine, and then moved to Lingchuan, Lingui and other places. Hongyao, with a population of less than 100 people, moved from Mengzi Village near Panni in Longsheng to Sanxian Cave in Lantian at the end of the Ming Dynasty, and later moved to Shangbanlei Jie to settle down. It is said that the ancestors of Panyao were Panhu, the divine dog of Zhou Ping in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty. Because of his meritorious rebellion, Yelu Jingmo, King of the State of Pingli, was recruited by King Ping of Zhou as an auxiliary horse. He was conferred the title of Kuaiji Mountain (Nanjing), the Jiangdong territory. He gave birth to six men and six women. King Ping of Zhou Qin gave twelve surnames Pan, Zhao, Shen, Feng, Li, Deng, Bao, Zhou, Zheng, Hu, Lei and Peng. It also issued the "Yellow List of Crossing Mountains" allowing the twelve surnamed Pan Yao not to kneel down before seeing officials, not to pay money during the transition, and not to pay taxes on farming mountains.

[Banleijie Terrace] Xiannonggou Banleijie Terrace is located in Lantian Township, Lingchuan, 70 kilometers away from Guilin. It has lush forests, humid air and extremely rich anion content. [Jiangzhouping Lawn] Tens of thousands of acres of grassland are 1500 meters above sea level, and hundreds of steamed buns mountains come into view. A pool of water is inlaid among the mountains on all sides like pearls. On the open ground next to it, the grass is green and the cattle are on the grass leisurely chewing on the tender grass. It is far away from the hustle and bustle of the world. There is no complexity here. There is only picturesque scenery here. Coming to Jiangzhouping is like walking into a world of clear spirits, like the paradise described by Tao Yuanming, making people forget their troubles and feel relaxed and happy. [Gongping Township] In the northeast of Yanshan Village Committee in Gongping Township, about 35 kilometers away from Lingchuan County, in the field between Xiannan Village and Yangtian Village of Yanshan Village Committee, there is an Elephant Trunk Mountain, whose shape and demeanor are similar to walking elephants. I visited the Elephant Trunk Mountain in Yanshan this autumn. When we talk about Elephant Trunk Mountain, people naturally think of the Elephant Trunk Mountain, which is known as the "Guilin City Emblem" and stands tall on the Li River in the urban area of Guilin. Because the form is natural, clever and vivid, it can indeed give people a natural beauty. It is a symbol of Guilin's beautiful mountains and rivers and the world-class scenery. In fact, this Elephant Trunk Mountain, which is located in Yanshan Village Committee, Gongping Township, Lingchuan County, has a deep origin with the Elephant Trunk Mountain on the Li River in Guilin City, which is separated by mountains and rivers and dozens of kilometers away. There is also a sad and beautiful myth. According to folk legend, these two Elephant Trunk Mountains were a couple of statues thousands of years ago. The Elephant Trunk Mountain in the rural fields of Yanshan Mountain is the male elephant, and the Elephant Trunk Mountain along the Li River in Guilin City is the female elephant. They sing and live a happy life. Later, due to the anger of the Jade Emperor, a severe drought fell on Guilin County, resulting in starvation everywhere, which was tragic. Therefore, the Shenxiang couple was not afraid of the power of the Jade Emperor and descended to provide disaster relief. The male elephant went to the Yanshan fields to block the river, water and plow the fields for the people; the female elephant carried bottles and carried water and planted seedlings for the people along the Li River in Guilin. They saved a people with their own hard work, but for violating the Jade Emperor, they were sentenced to capital punishment, turned them into two mountains, and separated them from the two places. After the pair of elephants, who are loving and have made contributions to the people, transformed into a rocky mountain, the female elephant located on the Li River in Guilin City faces upstream; the male elephant located on Lingchuan Rock Mountain, one of the sources of the Li River, faces downstream. Although there are several mountains more than a hundred miles apart, they look at each other from each other. It can really be said that "my husband lives at the head of the Lijiang River and my wife lives at the end of the Lijiang River." I miss you every day and don't see you, so I drink the water of the Lijiang River together." Day after day, for tens of thousands of years, the female elephant stood on the edge of the Li River and quietly watched Guilin City, which is famous at home and abroad today; the male elephant quietly sits in the fields of Xiannan Village, Yanshan Village Committee, Gongping Township, Lingchuan County, silently accompanying the local villagers to cultivate the fields, year after year, unknown.
