Guangxi-Longsheng-Longji Terrace

Longji Terrace is located in Longsheng Autonomous County of Ethnic Groups, Guilin City, Guangxi. It is a large-scale terrace group in Guilin, about 80 kilometers away from Guilin City and more than 20 kilometers away from Longsheng County. There are several ancient villages of ethnic minorities located here, inhabited by the Zhuang and Yao ethnic groups. The famous villages are Ping 'an Village, Jinkeng Dazhai, Guzhuang Village and Huangluo Yaozhai.

The Longji Terrace was built in the Yuan Dynasty and the Ming Dynasty, and completed in the early Qing Dynasty. It has a history of nearly 700 years. It is a reflection of the local people's wisdom and strength to understand nature and build their homes.

The highest altitude of the Longji Terrace is 1180 meters and the lowest is 380 meters. The vertical drop is as much as 800 meters. It is like a chain and a belt. It winds from the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain. The hills are like snails and the mountains are like towers, stacked on top of each other. Viewed from a high place, the graceful curves of the terraces are one by one, parallel or intersecting, winding like spring snails and shrouded in mist like cloud towers, showing the breathtaking beauty of the curves. Its lines are smooth and flowing, elegant and soft; its scale is majestic and magnificent, and it is known as the "crown of terraces in the world".

The main scenic spots currently developed in Longji Terrace include Ping 'an Zhuang Terrace, Longji Ancient Zhuangzhai Terrace, Jinkeng Hongyao Terrace, etc.

Ping 'an Village is a classic place to visit the Longji Terrace. Tourism has been developed earlier here and the facilities for eating, drinking and entertainment are more complete. Most terraces are composed of small fields, with quiet and beautiful scenery. When the crops are ripe in autumn, only a golden color is visible. The autumn terraces at this time are particularly beautiful. The viewing platforms in the scenic area are two unique landscapes: "Five Tigers in Kowloon" and "Seven Stars Accompanying the Moon". Among them,"Nine Dragons" refer to the nine hills separated from the main vein of the dragon ridge here, and "Five Tigers" refer to the five slightly raised hills here. "Jiulong" and "Five Tigers" are surrounded by terraces;"Seven Stars Accompanying the Moon" refers to the seven small hills left behind when the fields were opened, which are like seven little stars accompanying the terraces like moon.

Longji Ancient Zhuangzhai is one of the ancient villages with a long history in the scenic area, dating back to the Wanli Period of the Ming Dynasty. Many promotional videos of the Longji Terrace were taken here; the "Thousand Layer of Ladders" viewing platform is relatively close to the foot of the mountain. You can see the stockade of Yao people and feel the integration of humanity and nature, making it suitable for watching the sunset;"Golden Buddha Top" is the place to take sunsets. Due to the distance and difficult mountain roads, not many people came here to take photos before. In recent years, a cable car leading directly to the Golden Buddha Top has been opened here. If you want to come here, it is much easier to take photos.

Mid-July: The rice is beginning to grow and green. Around the Mid-Autumn Festival: The rice is ripe and a large piece of golden. When it snows in winter: It only snows once or twice a year, and the terraces in the snow are more distinct, but they can only be encountered and cannot be sought.

1. Come to the Longji Terrace from mid-April to mid-May. At this time, the terraces are filled with water. The lines and outlines on the terraces are very clear, and what is displayed in front of people are magnificent pictures. Before and after the Mid-Autumn Festival, there is a golden harvest across the mountains, which is also very worth seeing.

2. Almost all the roads to the Longji Terrace are winding mountains. There is a lot of traffic during the peak season, so special attention should be paid to safety when driving. There are many stone roads in Lishan Road in the scenic area. The roads are very difficult to walk on. You can only bring a small amount of luggage up the mountain. Don't bring luggage, which is too inconvenient.

3. Some villagers use baskets to help tourists carry small luggage up the mountain. It is a good choice for them to help them carry some luggage and lead the way. If you live directly in B & Bs and B & Bs on the mountain, there are terraces at your doorstep, which is very convenient to view and shoot terraces in the morning and evening (the terraces have the most beautiful views in the morning and evening).
