Guilin Lijiang Scenic Area not only has the four wonders of "clear mountains, beautiful waters, strange caves and beautiful stones", but also has the advantages of "green continents, dangerous beaches, deep ponds, and flying waterfalls". It is known as the "Baili Li River and Baili Gallery". With Guilin City as the center, the scenic area starts from Xing 'an Lingqu in the north and ends at Yangshuo in the south. It is connected by the Lijiang River and is the largest and most beautiful karst landscape tourist area in the world. The peaks on both sides of the Li River are tall and straight, with myriad shapes. The bamboo forests on the river embankments are swaying and graceful. The blue water in the river flows in and the strange peaks reflect. Every scenery is beautiful and picturesque.

In the traditional sense, the Li River starts from Maoer Mountain in Yuecheng Ling, the source of the Gui River. Modern hydrology defines it as Lingqukou, Rongjiang Town, Xing 'an County, and ends at Sanjiangkou, Pingle. The upper reaches of the Li River are the Darong River, and the lower reaches are the traditionally named Gui River. The Lingqu Estuary is the boundary point between the Dalong River section of the Guijiang River and the Lijiang River section, and the Lipu River and Gongcheng Estuary are the boundary points between the Lijiang River section and the Guijiang River section. The total length of the Lijiang River section is 164 kilometers. The river beds along the river are mostly water-quality pebbles, with small sediment and clear water. Most of the banks are karst landforms.

The Lijiang River Scenic Area includes Caoping, Elephant Trunk Mountain, Fuzi Rock, Douji Mountain, Weijiadu, Dawu Ancient Town, Huangniu Gorge, Qifeng Town, Mopanshan Wharf, Zizhou, Jingping Mountain, Guanyan, Xiushan, Xiangba Island, Banduu, Taoyuan Village, Wangfu Stone, Jiuma Hua Mountain, Tongzibai Guanyin, Zhuobi, Yueguang Island, Liyuaguabi, Luosi Mountain, Chaoban Mountain, Xingping Fishing Village, Shutong Mountain, Bilian Peak, etc.
