Along the Li River in Dawu Ancient Town in Guilin, whenever there is little water in the Li River, a large river beach will be exposed. In early winter, the reed bushes on the river beach will turn yellow and glow with golden light under the sunshine. This place is really artistic, and it's particularly exciting to take pictures. My colleague took several pictures for me, and every one was very good.

When you come back from the river beach, you will enter the old street of Dawu Ancient Town from Wanshou Bridge. When you come to Dawu Ancient Town, Wanshou Bridge is a must-visit place and a must-see attraction because this bridge is very famous.

Wanshou Bridge is located at the confluence of Ma River and Li River. It is the best location to admire the Li River and Mopan Mountain opposite it. This bridge was built in the Ming Dynasty. It started as a wooden three-arch bridge and was later destroyed by floods. It was rebuilt in the 25th year of Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty. It is a rainbow single-hole arch stone bridge built of stones. The entire bridge is designed scientifically and finely and beautifully. At the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, Dawei was a water transportation terminal in northern Guangxi, with prosperous commerce and trade. The "Siying Street"(now Dongfang Street) next to Wanshou Bridge and the river beach on one side are the main market area of Dawei. The river beach should be the area I have just walked through.

Walking onto the Wanshou Bridge, I found that the bluestone slabs on the bridge deck had been polished until they were shiny, and the gaps in the stones of the bridge were full of moss and weeds. It looked very chronological and showed the ancient town's age. Because this bridge has a long history and the surrounding scenery is very special, it has attracted many movie and TV drama groups to take pictures here, such as the famous movies "Sister Liu","Brother Ba's Story" and "Tears of the Pallet", and the TV series "Shi Dakai","Suppression of Bandits in Northern Guangxi" and "Wind and Rain Guilin City" have once filmed exterior locations here. Among them, one of the scenes filmed in the movie "Sanjie Liu" is where Sanjie Liu sits on Brother Niu's small boat and travels down the river. As she approaches a stone arch bridge, Sanjie Liu sings a classic folk song: "There are flowers on the top of the mountain and the mountain are fragrant. There is water at the bottom of the bridge and the bridge deck is cool." The bridge in the movie is the Wanshou Bridge in Dawei Ancient Town.

Although this bridge was listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Lingchuan County on July 28, 1985, it is a pity that the houses next to the bridge and the river are now all cement houses, which is a big contrast with the ancient bridge.
