In the Buddhist teachings passed down by word of mouth among Chinese people, Guanyin Bodhisattva has a broad and sad wish of equality and selflessness. When all living beings encounter any difficulties and sufferings, if they can sincerely say that Guanyin Bodhisattva, they will be rescued by the Bodhisattva.

It is said that in ancient times, when northern Guizhou encountered a severe drought, the rivers were cut off and no crops were harvested. It happened that the Bodhisattva Guanyin traveled here. The people prostrated under the scorching sun and prayed for rain. Her sincerity moved the goddess of Guanyin and sprinkled holy water on the riverbed. The mountains and rivers began and reappeared.

The people thanked Guanyin for leaving her avatar. When the clouds opened and the fog dispersed, the figure of a Bodhisattva could indeed be seen on the rock, hence the name of Guanyin Rock. There is a Bodhisattva who protects future generations with smooth weather, peace and stability.

There are thirty-three incarnations of Guanyin in the canyon, either protruding from high cliffs or standing tall on the banks of the valley. Only those with discerning eyes can find Guanyin's traces. Many tourists come here and ask for Guanyin's blessing, which is very effective.
