I don't want to waste any vacation, even if it's only three days, so let's continue on the road on May Day 2019. I have been thinking a sentence in my heart called "Fireworks set in Yangzhou in March". Spring comes relatively late this year, and April May is the most suitable season for going out, so I want to take it with me to Zhejiang. I have been to Shanghai, Suzhou, and Hangzhou several times, and have also been to Zhoushan and Taohua Island. This time, I wanted to find a relatively unpopular city, so I chose Ningbo, which is relatively cheap in terms of airfare and accommodation, and still retains the charm of small bridges and flowing water.
It is well known that flying on May Day is super expensive in any mainstream tourist city. So, the total round-trip airfare from Chongqing to Ningbo is less than 1500 yuan per person, and the flight time is 2.5 hours, which is really cheaper. Moreover, the high-speed train from Ningbo to Hangzhou costs 71 yuan per person and takes only 1 hour to arrive in Hangzhou. There are many trips a day, so if you insist on visiting Hangzhou, you can also choose this compromise. We chose this approach, which saves money and eliminates the need for overcrowding.
In fact, Ningbo is not considered a tourist city (but Ningbo people have money), so there are really not many attractions. Two days is enough to check in all the attractions.

Regarding accommodation and transportation
First of all, Ningbo belongs to Ma Papa of Zhejiang Province, so the popularity of Alipay's bus codes is overwhelming. Bus codes can be used for taking buses, and subway codes can be used for taking subways, covering all means of transportation, which is very convenient.
The busiest and most concentrated commercial area in Ningbo is around Tianyi Square, and most people choose to live in this area. I chose the Wyndham Hotel in Haishu Square for a long time, and finally chose it. It is also close to the commercial district and the Moon Lake Park (a famous tourist attraction in Ningbo). There are subway and bus services available, which are very convenient and cheap. The Wyndham Hotel in Kunming costs 980 yuan per night, while the Wyndham Hotel in Ningbo only costs 573 yuan per night. It's still during the May Day holiday!!!
Although this Wyndham may not look young anymore, the standardization system of five-star hotels is still sound.
The lobby of the hotel is decorated according to the conventional "aesthetic" of Windham. Splendor+antique are integrated together, and the faint smell of perfume penetrates into the heart. When checking in at the front desk of the lobby, a lobby service staff will immediately bring you tea and hot towels.
The hotel is located in the AAAAA Scenic Area - Tianyi Pavilion, Moon Lake Scenic Area. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to Ningbo's bustling Tianyi Square Shopping Mall, Chenghuang Temple, etc. Moreover, it is only about 1.2 kilometers away from Ningbo Station, which is very advantageous for us to plan a 1-day round-trip trip from Ningbo Station to Hangzhou by high-speed train.
The standard room is very large and clean, and the owner is very satisfied.
To popularize "Wyndham": As a giant in the hotel industry, Wyndham Hotel Group is one of the three major hotel subsidiaries of Wyndham Global Company (New York Stock Exchange: WYN), which stands out globally due to its large scale. Wyndham Hotel Group has over 8100 hotels in 78 countries worldwide, with over 708500 rooms. It is a world leading hotel brand franchisor and hotel management service provider, standing out in the industry. The hotel brands under its umbrella include The Trademark Hotel Collection Dolce Hotels and Resorts、 Wyndham Grand Dazzler Hotels、Esplendor Boutique Hotels、 Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, Wyndham Garden Hotels, TRYP by Wyndham, Wingate by Wyndham Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham、Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham、 Ramada Hotel Baymont Inn & Suites、 Days Inn, Super 8, Howard Johnson, Travelodge, Knights Inn, and recently acquired AmericInn.
As Ningbo belongs to Zhejiang, the design here is also close to the Jiangnan water town style, such as the small drawers of toiletries on the dressing table.
If you live here, you need to experience their butler service.
I booked three consecutive nights so that no matter where I go, I don't have to carry my luggage.
Free hot milk and Snow fungus soup will be provided at 20:30-22:30 every night.
Corridor corner:
The most interesting thing was that on the last night, the butler knocked on the door and asked us about our stay experience. I said I was quite satisfied with everything else, but there was no fruit provided for the first night of stay. The butler awkwardly and politely replied that they had never had this service before. But since I have mentioned everything, she said she went to apply to prepare a fruit for us, so she witnessed the fruit I "wanted" to bring in the picture below, hehe.
When the butler knocked on my door the last night to ask for my opinion, he also gave me a bread voucher, which allowed me to buy bread from the bakery on the first floor. He said they all made fresh bread cakes every day, so I went down to buy breakfast by high-speed train the next day. not bad
This is the first time I have encountered a situation where a room cleaner has personally written a note to leave a message for you. I feel that it is not easy to become a cleaner now, and it is not easy to be illiterate. I also need to provide a note to the guests, explaining clearly what kind of cleaning and hygiene I have done in their room.
Find a place to sleep and start a city check-in game.
Ningbo - Yuehu Shengyuan
Across from Yuehu Park, there is a commercial street with a strong ancient atmosphere, offering food, drink, massage, beauty treatments, and foot baths. I feel like Taikoo Village in Chengdu, Sanlitun in Beijing, and Chongqing Tiandi in Chongqing are all ancient buildings with no more than two floors.
Yuehu Shengyuan is the first commercial district in China to use Jiangnan courtyards as the blueprint for renovation. Xintiandi in Shanghai is a Shikumen building, Nanjing 1912 is a building of the Republic of China, Kuanzhai Alley in Chengdu is a traditional courtyard in Sichuan, and Yuehu Shengyuan also adopts the model of the transformation of the old city in China, highlighting the style of Jiangnan.
It turns out that Ningbo Moon Lake Garden is the "Xintiandi" in Ningbo, located in the center of the old city of Ningbo. It used to be a historical block of Yujiaxiang, close to the Yuehu Historical and Cultural Zone, and is one of the few existing traditional historical blocks in the urban area of Ningbo. In 2005, the eight major "Purple Line Plans" of Ningbo City were determined, and the Yuehu Shengyuan Historical and Cultural District was included in the protection scope.
Almost every merchant's decoration features an antique style, with Jiangnan courtyards as the architectural feature and Ningbo Shangbang culture as the spiritual carrier.
I didn't see many people at any of the tourist attractions in Ningbo, so I felt very comfortable. It was great to wander around the crowded places built by vendors for tourism purposes without crowds.
Of course, it is obvious that many buildings are new buildings with Jiangnan characteristics. But the overall style is unified, and it still looks pleasing to the eye.
We have chosen a vegetarian restaurant with a focus on light food: Vegetable Room.
But compared to high-end vegetarian restaurants, this vegetarian restaurant still takes a more affordable route, with an average of 30-50 yuan per person, which is not too expensive.
Mainly vegetarian, but surprisingly tasted the sensation of meat!
A five-star vegetarian restaurant with graded steaks and hidden menus for vegetables that are even more expensive than meat.
This is very in line with my wife's desire to control her diet and lose weight. She had a satisfying lunch without growing any meat.
As a vegetarian restaurant, Vegetable Room gives people a youthful feeling and advocates a balanced and healthy eating philosophy, which is in sharp contrast to the old-fashioned style of traditional vegetarian restaurants. Very fashionable, it's a vegetarian restaurant for young people to eat!
Fresh vegetables rich in dietary fiber and rich in ingredients, paired with soy products that can supplement protein, as well as selected five grain brown rice (a combination of brown rice, red rice, oat rice, black rice, and quinoa) from the vegetable house.
Novelty vegetables and superb craftsmanship, as well as ordering coffee and their light drinks.
The entire bar design is also relatively young, reportedly driven by a young couple.
Yuehu Shengyuan has gathered 1 municipal level cultural heritage unit, 2 district level cultural heritage units, 2 municipal level cultural heritage points, 15 historical buildings and other historical and cultural relics, such as the former residence of Yang Fang, the first comprador of modern Ningbo, the Lingying Temple built in the Tang Dynasty and rebuilt in the Republic of China, the former residence of Chen Yumen, the inventor of Chinese mahjong, the Sheng Family Flower Hall of the district level cultural heritage unit, the Li Family Ancestral Hall of the Zhejiang East School, the residence of Li Kanyu, a businessman from Ningbo who traveled to Shanghai, the residence of Dong Meisheng, the owner of a textile factory, and the residence of Chen Bingheng, the director of the Postal and Telecommunications Bureau during the Republic of China period, which reflect a large number of buildings reflecting the living pattern and historical development information of a certain historical stage in Ningbo.
Ningbo - Moon Lake Park
After eating and drinking, prepare to take a good stroll around the Moon Lake Park. A 5A scenic spot does not charge tickets, and the people of Ningbo have money.
It is the largest free open park in the center of Ningbo, which appears in the shape of a crescent moon from the map. This place has a long history. During the Song Dynasty, the scenery of the Moon Lake and Ten Continents was formed, and pavilions and towers were widely built. It was the residence of wealthy merchants, nobles, and wealthy families at that time. Nowadays, many ancient buildings are also preserved, hidden in various mountains, rivers, and water.
The merger of Moon Lake Park and the nearby Tianyi Pavilion Museum has been rated as a 5A scenic spot.
Perhaps due to the good weather, neither too cold nor too hot, walking slowly along the lake in the Moon Lake Park was very comfortable. I saw many locals taking leisurely walks inside, young people talking about love, parent-child strolling, and there were also many people drinking a bowl of outdoor covered tea by the lake.
Divided into north and south parts by Liuting Street, separated by a road in the middle. There are also several former residences for visitors, and the park's facilities are no less than those of paid attractions, equivalent to West Lake in Ningbo.
The Goryeo Embassy Site is located in the Baokui Lane area on the east bank of Moon Lake. It is a historical witness of Ningbo Port's foreign exchanges and friendly exchanges between China and Goryeo in the past.
In the seventh year of Xining (1074), Ningbo began to receive Korean envoys. In the seventh year of the Zhenghe reign of the Northern Song Dynasty (1117), the prefect of Mingzhou, in accordance with the decree of Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty, established the "Goryeo Bureau" in Mingzhou to manage the relevant government affairs with Goryeo. On the east bank of the Moon Lake, the "Chrysanthemum Island", a national level welcoming hotel was established - the Goryeo Embassy. The Korean Embassy was the residence where Ming Zhou received Korean envoys during the Northern Song Dynasty, the historical witness of the friendly exchanges between Chinese Mainland and the Korean Peninsula, and an important cultural relic of the political and commercial exchanges between Ningbo's "Maritime Silk Road" and other foreign ports.
This stage looks great. In recent years, with the expansion of Liuting Street in Ningbo City, the Ningbo Municipal Government and the public have invested heavily in renovating the He Mi Jian Temple, Buddhist layman forest, Guandi Temple shopping mall, and Chaoran Pavilion, showcasing these historic sites with a new look.
The Moon Lake Park was excavated during the Tang Dynasty's Zhenguan period (636 AD), and was built during the Song Dynasty's Yuanyou period to form the Ten Continents of Moon Lake. During the Shaoxing period of the Southern Song Dynasty, pavilions, towers, and pavilions were built extensively, and four seasonal flowers and trees were planted everywhere, forming a picturesque scenery of ten continents on the Moon Lake. These ten continents are: Zhuyu, Yuedao, and Juhuazhou in the east of the lake, Huayu, Zhuzhou, Liuting, and Fangcaozhou in the middle of the lake, and Yanyu, Xueting, and Furongzhou in the west of the lake. In addition, there are three embankments and seven bridges that complement each other. Since the Song and Yuan dynasties, Yuehu has been the academic center of eastern Zhejiang and a gathering place for literati and scholars to rest and gather. Tang Dynasty great poet He Zhizhang, Northern Song Dynasty famous minister Wang Anshi, Southern Song Dynasty prime minister Shi Hao, Song Dynasty famous scholar Yang Jian, Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty great historian Wan Sitong. These influential figures, whether living in seclusion, giving lectures, serving as officials, or writing books, have left indelible marks on the Moon Lake.
The main body of the Jiangnan garden is a complex of ancient and elegant pavilions and towers, complemented by a moon lake adorned with graceful bells and bridges, and embellished with bamboo forests, flowers and trees, and mountains and stones. With a strong scholarly and cultural atmosphere, it further highlights the unique and elegant style of Jiangnan gardens.
Yang Zhai has now transformed into an art museum.
After registering with your ID card, you can visit for free.
The entire exhibition hall is not large and has a courtyard shape, with only the first floor and the second floor not open to the public.
The Moon Lake Art Museum is divided into three exhibition halls, featuring works by famous artists as well as landscape paintings from 12 counties and cities in Ningbo, totaling over 100 pieces.
The opening hours are from 9:30 to 16:00, and the venue is closed on Mondays. It remains open on holidays as usual. For teams with more than 40 members, advance reservations are required.
It is a Qing Dynasty architecture, with the main building facing south and north. It consists of a foyer, main building, inverted seat, wing room, and rear building, forming a courtyard with a construction area of 855.37 square meters. Originally the former residence of Yang Juting (principal of Ningbo Women's High School), a renowned cultural figure and educator in the Yongshang cultural community during the Republic of China period.
The Moon Lake Park is rich in vegetation, with various flowers and plants that attract people's love.
Fangcaozhou is a small island carved out of the Moon Lake, passing through a Moon Gate, and the garden is a typical Jiangnan garden. There is a continent on the lake, and a lake on the continent complements each other, with pavilions, water pavilions, and winding corridors.
A large number of ladies and sisters come here wearing Hanfu to take photos, and even children come here wearing Hanfu to check in. Ningbo Yuehu Park is indeed very suitable for taking ancient costume photos, and the clothing and surrounding environment blend perfectly, complementing each other.
It is another museum that has been renovated from an old house.
It will take nearly 2 hours to slowly stroll through the north and south circles.
The water here is clear and the plants and trees are beautiful. Many famous literati have been lingering here in history, leaving behind many historical relics in the Moon Lake area. In addition to the famous Tianyi Pavilion at home and abroad, there are also Guandi Temple, He Mi Jian Temple, and several official residences here.
Just by the Moon Lake, I found a beautiful new Chinese style tea room and walked in to prepare for a sip.
This should be a new store.
And this shoe taking small private room is still being renovated, ensuring a Japanese style look.
This is a tea based beverage shop that can also make milk tea. Milk tea has a good taste and is very mellow. A small cup costs 28 yuan, and milk and tea can be tasted as high-quality products, so the price is not cheap.
Wooden minimalist style, very simple.
There is a small plant on each table, and ours is succulent.
The entire lobby is made of cement and wood, with a slightly mixed industrial style.
There is a small outdoor terrace that looks like Moon Lake.
After sitting for a while, we plan to visit the Tianyi Pavilion Museum before it closes.
Ningbo - Tianyi Pavilion Museum
This is a paid scenic spot and is also one of the most famous urban scenic spots in Ningbo. It is the most crowded scenic spot I have visited in Ningbo.
The Tianyi Pavilion Museum is a thematic museum with Tianyi Pavilion as the main body and book collection culture as its characteristics. It is one of the top ten historical and cultural buildings in China.
In 1994, Ningbo Museum merged with Tianyi Pavilion Cultural Heritage Office to establish Tianyi Pavilion Museum. It is the oldest existing library in China, the oldest existing library in Asia, and one of the three oldest family libraries in the world. Now it has expanded into three functional areas: book collection culture, exhibition and exhibition, and garden leisure, integrating book collection culture, social history, and cultural arts, becoming a window for showcasing Ningbo's history and culture.
The book collection cultural area is centered around the famous Yitian Pavilion Library, which includes the Dongming Thatched Cottage, the former residence of the Fan family, the Zunjing Pavilion, the Mingzhou Stele Forest, the Ganjin Studio, and the newly built library. Tianyi Pavilion was originally the private library of the Right Assistant Minister of War, Fan Qin, during the Ming Dynasty.
Books are important tools for recording and disseminating knowledge, as well as important symbols of human civilization development. The government attaches great importance to the protection and utilization of historical literature and materials collected by Tianyi Pavilion, and has allocated special funds multiple times for the maintenance and expansion of Tianyi Pavilion.
At the same time, Tianyi Pavilion also carries out the search, certification, and collection of lost ancient books. Nowadays, the collection of books in Tianyi Pavilion has reached over 300000 volumes, which is five times more than Fan Qin's original collection, including over 80000 volumes of various rare editions and rare editions.
There are a series of tourist attractions built in the garden leisure area, including Mingchi, rockeries, long corridors, Beilin, Bai'eting, Ninghui Hall, and so on.
These scenic spots have a reasonable and well arranged layout, achieving the artistic effect of "although there are works by people, it feels like the world", providing a place for leisure and viewing the scenery of Jiangnan gardens.
These buildings do give people a strong sense of history.
This pillar is actually inclined.
Throughout Chinese history, the study of classics has been revered, and schools in various provinces, counties, and counties have built the Zun Jing Ge to collect scriptures. This pavilion was originally located within the Ningbo Prefectural School and was a double eaved gable roof building rebuilt during the Guangxu period. In 1935, local residents in Ningbo raised funds to repair Tianyi Pavilion and moved it here.
In the fourth year of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1665), Fan Guangwen, the great grandson of Fan Qin, stacked mountains and water in front of the pavilion, planted trees and built a garden. The overall design of the garden is based on "blessings, rewards, and longevity", with sea reefs piled up to create scenes such as nine lions and one elephant.
This tree is covered with small leaves, densely packed and very interesting.
There is a storage room dedicated to storing past collections of books, all of which are glass enclosed and have constant temperature protection. The staff are busy protecting the books inside.
Admission: 30 yuan/person.
The entire Tianyi Pavilion is not too big, it can be completed in half an hour by strolling around slowly.
The convenience stores at the entrance all have small flower decorations, cute.
There are three machines at the entrance that can scan the QR code for free to receive a hand drawn map of Tianyi Pavilion.
Very cute, worth collecting, this is a great thing to be careful with when traveling.
There is another artificial Jiangnan water town style rest area outside the Tianyi Pavilion Museum, directly connected to a circle of Moon Lake Park.
This is called Tianyi Pavilion Square, which is actually quite beautiful.
The Tianyi Pavilion · Moon Lake Scenic Area in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province has been approved as a 5A level tourist attraction, becoming the only 5A level scenic spot in Zhejiang Province in this batch and the second 5A level scenic spot in Ningbo after the Xuedou Mountain Scenic Area in Xikou, Ningbo. The Tianyi Pavilion Moon Lake Scenic Area is located in the central area of Ningbo, consisting of two core scenic areas: Tianyi Pavilion Museum and Moon Lake, with a total area of approximately 1 square kilometer. The scenic area has rich historical resources and profound cultural heritage, with more than 50 cultural relics protection units and sites at all levels, and 3 national key cultural relics protection units.
Ningbo - Haishu Drum Tower, Chenghuang Temple, Tianyi Square
Walking a little along the street from the Tianyi Pavilion Museum, you can see the Haishu Drum Tower (Ningbo Drum Tower), which is very obvious. A distinctive feature of this drum tower is its combination of Chinese and Western elements. Upon closer inspection, the lower part features a Chinese style design, while the upper part features a Western style bell tower built in the early Republic of China, a Roman style bell tower. So it looks very unique.
The Ningbo Drum Tower was first built in the first year of Tang Changqing (821 AD) and has a history of over 1100 years, with a total of 6 floors. It is a symbol of Ningbo's official establishment of state rule and city in its history. The Ningbo Drum Tower is the only remaining ancient city building site in Ningbo City, and is one of the national key protected ancient buildings.
The bottom floor is a lunar cave gate for pedestrian traffic.
Entering it is a commercial street that is very commercialized, and even after a glance, we are not interested in strolling around.
I happened to encounter the Gulou Market and went around, but the quality was not very high.
I don't have a very good impression of Chenghuang Temple in Ningbo. It is a very cheap commercial form, and I don't want to be close to it. There is too much cheap barbecue smoke.
Then let's continue walking. If we walk a little further, we'll be at Tianyi Square, which is concentrated
CBD area, stroll around, eat and eat, buy and buy. Starbucks always occupies the best position.
The girl who gave me a massage when I took a foot bath at night said that Tianyi Square used to be much more lively, but now its popularity is not as good as before because there are more and more commercial districts in other areas, which has diverted the flow of people here. Normal. This girl is from Sichuan, and the taxi driver who took a taxi back to the hotel in the evening is also from Sichuan. There are a lot of people coming to Sichuan to work here. This driver has been in Ningbo for 20 years and said he visited Chongqing once 15 years ago. He also kept his impression of Chongqing in a backward and closed mountain city. I was particularly surprised that our two girls were staying at a five-star hotel in Wyndham, and I kept emphasizing that there was a feeling of not being able to eat grapes and saying they were sour. I can only say that his knowledge is very limited. If he visits Chongqing again, he will be scared by the development of Chongqing in recent years. Ningbo taxi starts at 11 yuan.
There is a prominent Catholic church in Tianyi Square, which looks quite beautiful at night.
This church is based on the Medicine Street Catholic Church built by French missionary Guo Zhongchuan inside the Lingqiao Gate in 1702. It was expanded in 1997 and completed in 2000. The main hall ridge is 31 meters high, and the bell tower is 66 meters high. It is a typical Gothic style building with top-notch design and colored window glass. The entire body is iron red and decorated with white lines. The Catholic Church is the largest venue for Catholic activities in Ningbo City. The church is 51 meters long from north to south, 22 meters wide from east to west, with a ridge height of 31 meters and a bell tower height of 66 meters. It is topped with a stainless steel cross that is 6 meters high and 4 meters wide. The floor plan of the church is cross shaped and combined with the second floor of the priest's building, making it capable of accommodating 2000 people (with a thousand seats).
The front entrance of the church is made of 80 tons of granite, and the church hall is decorated with granite on the ground. The doors and windows of the entire hall are made of colored glass, and the circular windows at the top of the hall are decorated with various patterns of the Holy Communion. The doors and windows of the church are decorated with patterns from biblical stories. The 80 square meter semi-circular arch at the top of the altar is painted with the image of Holy Trinity crowned as the Virgin Mary, and is supported by five semi-circular small arches, symbolizing the unity and unity of the church.
The tea from Naixue in Tianyi Square is quite beautiful.
Let's continue walking and cross a bridge to reach the Old Bund. Ningbo also has a concentration of all scenic spots, which can be completed by walking. When crossing the bridge, I also took a look at the night scenery on both sides.
As we approach the Old Bund in Ningbo, we first see the Ningbo Catholic Church, which was built in 1872 and is a typical French Gothic architecture.
Unfortunately, in 2014, the Catholic Church caught fire and burned away many of its wooden structures. The current Catholic Church is undergoing partial restoration.
Also known as the Seventh Suffering Church of the Virgin Mary. The Catholic Church was built by the French Bishop Su in 1872 and became the tallest building on the north bank of the Yangtze River at that time. The main building of the Catholic Church, the bell tower, was about 30 meters high. But in actual construction, local materials are used and brick and wood structures are used. The exterior is mainly made of blue bricks, and red bricks are used for decoration such as frames and lines. It is a representative work of Catholic church architecture in Zhejiang Province and was designated as a national key cultural relic protection unit in 2006.
Ningbo Old Bund is a port located on the north bank of Sanjiangkou in Jiangbei District, Ningbo City. Opened in 1844, it is located in the center of Ningbo, at the confluence of the Yong River, Fenghua River, and Yuyao River. It has been one of the busiest ports since the Tang and Song dynasties, and was once the earliest open port area among the five ports for trade.
In my opinion, the current Old Bund is just a bar street. The Old Bund of Ningbo is the earliest Bund in China and the first port to open after the Qing government's Treaty of Nanjing. It witnessed the semi colonial history of various powers on the Bund of Ningbo, which was opened a full twenty years earlier than the Bund of Shanghai.
The uniqueness of the Old Bund lies in its non enclosed nature, where any citizen can experience their own life at the Three Rivers Port. At the same time, the bar street in Old Bund Town becomes lively at night, and many foreigners like to relax and gather here. The day is relatively quiet.
The main road surface is modeled after "Dange Road", with a Shanghai style flavor, and restaurants or shops along the street. I really don't have the habit of staying overnight, so I strolled around and returned to the hotel. The self-service machine at the intersection of the Bund can also print hand drawn maps. The Old Bund in Ningbo is 20 years earlier than Shanghai. The Yuyao River, Fenghua River, and Yongjiang River flow here. During the day, there are not many people here, and many old residential buildings are now converted into bars. There are several street artists singing and playing the piano on the street.
Next to it is the Ningbo Art Museum. On my second visit to the museum, I took a panoramic view of the Old Bund from the second floor during the day. The Old Bund Commercial Street integrates Western and Republican architecture, so many people come here to take photos and videos, especially suitable for personal photos and wedding photos.
The night scenery in Ningbo is certainly not as beautiful as my hometown Chongqing because of the scattered and majestic mountainous terrain, but there is also a small and elegant Jiangnan atmosphere.
Ningbo - Ningbo Art Museum
The Ningbo Art Museum was designed by Mr. Wang Shu, the first Chinese winner of the Pritzker Architecture Award, making it a check-in location. It officially opened on October 11, 2005.
Apart from the magnificent construction, it is said that many filming scenes for movies and TV dramas were also chosen here.
Good architecture can bring a strong visual impact.
The most outstanding feature is the huge wooden wall in the color of natural wood, combined with the blue sky, white clouds, and sunlight to create the best background for shooting.
The opening hours are from 9:00 to 17:00 on Tuesday to Sunday, but entry is not allowed until 16:30. Whether entering on the second or first floor, there is a staff member at the entrance who will give a free admission ticket to enter with the ticket.
First, take enough photos of the characters in the outdoor pavilion on the second floor.
The Ningbo Art Museum is located on the north side of the bustling Sanjiangkou, adjacent to the vast Yongjiang River to the east, the quaint Old Bund to the south, and Jiangbei Renmin Road to the west.
The main building of the art museum adopts a double-layer shell design, with an outline on the bank of the Yong River, like an "art ark" anchored in the port city.
The Ningbo Art Museum consists of the main building, upper platform square, caf é, underground garage, dock, and other parts. The exhibition hall covers an area of 5300 square meters, and the art collection library covers more than 1500 square meters. It can hold exhibitions of different types and themes simultaneously or separately.
The entire hall is particularly transparent and spacious.
I really like these ethnic patterns as clothing features.
The art museum is equipped with advanced supporting facilities such as exhibition halls, art libraries, VIP lounges, academic lecture halls, artist studios, art salons, art education centers, galleries, and art supplies stores. It is a modern and high-quality plastic arts museum that integrates exhibition display, collection and protection, academic research, art exchange, art education, cultural leisure, and other functions. It is known as the "Oriental Harbor, Art Hall".
The second floor with a very large space and an elevated staircase in the middle are designed to enter the mezzanine for viewing. This staircase is very artistic.
The Ningbo Art Museum was transformed from an abandoned shipping building in Ningbo Port, and this staircase reflects this characteristic very clearly.
This set of displayed paintings is particularly interesting, all of them are masters, but they are works copied by masters from different eras. Everything is great.
Feel free to appreciate it, because I like it, I took a photo.
The Empress Dowager Cixi of Pop Art:
This kind of painting vividly portrays the images and faces of ancient characters, which is very distinctive.
The location of Ningbo Museum is slightly further away from the city center, but it is definitely worth visiting. This building does indeed look visually impactful, somewhat like a "prison", with moats and more, which I always associate with the "Bastille".
Its architecture is a representative work of the "New Localism" style by Wang Shu, the first Chinese winner of the Pritzker Architecture Award. It is one of the key cultural projects in Ningbo during the 11th Five Year Plan period, with an investment of 250 million yuan, covering an area of 60 acres and a total construction area of 30000 square meters.
The Ningbo Museum was opened for free to the public on December 5, 2008. The exhibits include more than 60000 precious bronze, porcelain, bamboo carvings, jade, calligraphy and painting, gold and silver artifacts, folk customs and other cultural relics from prehistoric Hemudu culture to modern times.
Opening hours: 9:00-16:00. Closed on Monday
Ticketing: Free
Bus route 635: Xingning Bridge East 363: Higher Education Park
Contact address: 1000 Shounan Middle Road, Yinzhou District, Ningbo
The architecture of the museum itself is an exhibit with a strong sense of design, and I came to see it.
The museum is the work of renowned architect Mr. Wang Shu, and the exterior walls are adorned with a large number of old bricks and tiles removed from old buildings in Ningbo. Some of the walls are inclined, but if you look closely, you can still find the symbols left on the bricks and tiles when they were fired.
The combination of red maple and grey wall creates a Japanese style atmosphere.
The museum is surrounded by lotus ponds and reed ponds, which, in my opinion, alleviate the hardness of the architectural design and do not make people feel too dry.
The architectural form is based on the design concept of mountains, water, and oceans, and is decorated with tile walls made of Ming and Qing bricks and tiles collected by the people, and concrete walls made of bamboo, highlighting the characteristics of Jiangnan residential buildings (which I didn't see).
Awarded the title of the most innovative museum in China in 2014, the walls around the museum are all made of old tiles and pottery pieces dismantled from local old streets in Ningbo. This 24 meter high tile wall depicts an abstract mountain shape, which is truly unforgettable at a glance.
Carrying the memory of history, it has created a magnificent "tile wall". Combined with a unique style design of bamboo bar concrete structure, the building appears weathered and calm, with a calm spirit that embodies the soul of history. Bricks and tiles not only incorporate environmental protection concepts into culture and art, but also soften the hard design of this cube.
I think museums can attract people to check in on buildings themselves, which is also a good promotional effect.
I will take photos from several perspectives to show you the unique features of the building itself.
We spent almost a morning inside, savoring the architecture and the works of each exhibition hall inside.
Entering the room, the sense of space is still well-organized.
I prefer the Folk Museum and Bamboo Carving Museum on the third floor to those on the first and second floors that discuss historical changes. Each artwork is worth observing in detail.
The first time I saw a jar with such a complex lid.
This is a painting depicting the life atmosphere of the ancient people in Ningbo, and I really like it.
The exhibition hall is divided into three floors. The first floor is a temporary special exhibition, and sometimes additional tickets are needed to visit. The second and third floors are free regular exhibitions. The second floor of the museum features a themed exhibition called "The Eastern" Divine Boat - Ningbo History Exhibition ", which is the main attraction inside the museum. The exhibition in four halls tells the story of Ningbo's history from ancient times to the establishment of the city, and then to becoming an international port and a southeast metropolis. Here, you can see the restored scenes of Hemudu life with wax statues, unearthed porcelain from Yue Kiln, as well as the restored scenes of Jiangxia Street and commerce. We can have a systematic understanding of the development process of Ningbo from ancient times to the present.
This "Wangong sedan" is also displayed in the lobby of Ningbo Zhuangyuan Building Hotel. The 3rd floor of Ningbo Museum is the "Ala" Old Ningbo - Ningbo Folk Culture Exhibition. Here, wax statues and replica buildings are used to recreate the street views of many time-honored shops in Ningbo in the past. Such as the century old shops "Gangyagou", "Lou Maoji Sauce Garden", "Zhuangyuan Lou", "Shouquan Zhai", and so on. In addition, the scene also showcased Ningbo people's holiday customs and traditions. Of course, you can't miss out on the Ningbo "Wangong sedan", which is known as the most luxurious flower sedan in the world, and the Wangong sedan with ten mile red makeup. Ancient people rented this top-notch wedding equipment every time.
These plates also look quite exquisite now!
On the top of the third floor, you can walk outdoors, still the geometric structure formed by the building itself and the sky, which is indeed worth taking photos to cherish.
The caf é of the museum is also on the third floor.
The tour route is also very user-friendly, with the exit of one museum followed by the entrance of the next, so there is no missing museum during the visit, avoiding the trouble of finding museums.
Designer Wang Shu is a madman who was unemployed and hidden for 7 years. However, after his comeback, he shocked the world and even won the Nobel Prize in architecture.
The Ningbo Museum was established in 2008 and has been in partnership with 330 cultural and museum units for 10 years. It has hosted over 140 special exhibitions and served over 10 million visitors.
From this angle, one can see the modern buildings in the surrounding CBD, with a contrast between high-density and colorful glass curtain walls and museums.
I really like an exhibition hall - the Bamboo Carving Museum, which can depict various characters and content on such small bamboo pieces. It's really amazing.
Bamboo carving art during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Bamboo carvings can be regarded as three-dimensional calligraphy and painting, with a bamboo tube, a knife, a delicate heart, and clever hands. Each piece is a treasure.
Bamboo Carving Art - Donated to the Ming and Qing Bamboo Carving Treasure Exhibition in the Year of Qin
Most of the exhibits in the Ningbo Museum are the old collections of the famous bamboo carving collector and seal engraver Mr. Qin Kangxiang. In 2001, Mr. Qin Bingnian, his successor, donated them to the country free of charge. A large number of representative works of bamboo carving masters, such as Zhu Songlin, the founder of the Jiading School in the Ming Dynasty, Zhou Hao, a leading figure in Jiading bamboo carving during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, and imperial craftsmen of the Kangxi Dynasty, as well as many bamboo carving works with absolute chronological style, including slips, pen holders, incense tubes, armrests, landscapes, figures, etc., are fully utilized in production techniques such as deep relief, transparent carving, shallow carving, leaving green, and round carving.
The Ming and Qing bamboo carving exhibitions are all from the collection of the Qin family, which makes me admire them deeply. I am once again proud of my traditional Chinese art.
I didn't expect the coffee in this museum caf é to be good. It can't be said to be stunning or delicious, but it's not bad either.
Because the two salespeople inside were both empresses, they had no expectations of their craft coffee beans, but they didn't expect it to be okay.
Ningbo Cuisine - Ningbo Zhuangyuanlou Hotel, Gangyagou
When you come to Ningbo, you must eat two restaurants, one is Gangyagou and the other is Ningbo Zhuangyuanlou Hotel. Even the Ningbo Museum has separate detailed introductions to these two century old restaurants.
Gangyagou in Ningbo is a chain store. We chose to come to the Raffles Plaza branch to eat and stroll around the Ningbo Raffles Shopping Center.
Ningbo's Xicha is in Raffles.
Tubing Duck Dog is a famous century old shop in Ningbo, mainly for eating rice dumpling. Its name is "Tubing Duck Dog", which is homophonic to the founder.
It was founded by Ningbo native Jiang Dingfa in 1926. His nickname is A Gou, known as "Jiang A Gou". At first, he sold fermented rice balls and red jujube soup in the Chenghuang Temple. After accumulating funds, he opened a shop in Kaiming Street.
The "lard rice dumpling" has always been the treasure of the pot duck dog, and has never changed. In addition to eating rice dumpling in the store, you can also buy a packaging box and cook it yourself.
On the wall, there is also a manga about brand development that tells the story: "In the middle of the night during the third and fourth shifts, you have to eat glutinous rice balls and 'duck dogs in a vat'. Don't leave after one bowl of soup, two bowls and three bowls are full of drug addiction. Even if you touch copper jewelry, it's not enough. Take off your cloth shirt as a guard.". This common saying that many old Ningbo people are familiar with is about the history of this century old brand. From an unknown outdoor stall at the street corner of Chenghuang Temple, it has gradually developed into a time-honored brand that people are competing to taste.
Different colors of rice dumpling skin represent different flavors. Pink is the flavor of osmanthus, while black is the flavor of durian. Sesame rice dumpling is not bad, and its skin is exquisite. Hand rub it with water to grind glutinous Rice noodles. The secret of delicious stuffing is that the sesame flour with a ratio of 1:2 of sesame and white sugar is directly rubbed into the pig suet of Xianju meat, and a little of sweet osmanthus is very fragrant.
The soup dumplings filled with small cages look very dry and average to eat. There isn't much soup.
The Ningbo Zhuangyuanlou Hotel is located next to Yixin, the most luxurious high-end shopping mall in Ningbo. On the other side of this mall is Yanjiang Road, which is quite beautiful.
A time-honored brand like this, founded in 1785, arrived at 16:25 to avoid queuing. After registration, it was officially released at 16:30.
The environment is very antique. The price is truly not cheap.
The hall is very large and traditional. At the entrance of the first and second floors, there are traditional carved red sedan chairs and top scorer plaques, which are quite beautiful (I have seen the introduction of the origin of this traditional sedan chair in the Ningbo Museum, which has been explained, so I won't talk about it again here).
The new "Number One Building" hotel has a business area of over 3000 square meters, with all private rooms made of mahogany furniture and portraits of 13 top scorers in Ningbo's history hung. The "Number One Scholar Tower" created and inscribed by Yu Qiuyu is hung on one side of the lobby, praising the time-honored "Number One Scholar Tower". At the beginning, it is written: "The taste of the world varies by region, and the taste must be in the common places of Wufu City. Ningbo, my hometown, is the right choice, and the chosen one is the Number One Scholar Tower!" Above the hotel lobby, there are the four characters "Number One Scholar Here" handwritten by the famous scholar Feng Jicai. ". There is a golden list below, with the names of 654 top scorers from various dynasties since the implementation of the imperial examination system. In the center of the lobby, there are official sedan chairs for ancient top scorers, as well as food boxes and baskets for candidates to rush to take exams. As soon as customers enter the store, they feel a strong culture of top scorers rushing towards them.
We ordered the signature number one cake. After taking one bite, it was rice cake, neither sweet nor glutinous, very hard and without any distinctive features. I never took a second bite again, it was really not delicious.
Scallion oil seafood is not stunning, I purely like this seafood flavor.
The top scorer drunken chicken is very salty, which is salted chicken, and has the same taste as Chongqing's salted duck, but this is chicken.
We can't book a reservation in advance, that's understandable. Business is too good. To take care of everyone, there is still a small portion that can be ordered. Tea is taken by oneself, and there are options such as brown sugar ginger tea, chrysanthemum tea, and lemon tea to choose from. In short, Zhuangyuan Building, known as the number one delicacy in Ningbo, does not live up to its name.
Hangzhou - Liangzhu Cultural and Art Center
I've probably been to Hangzhou more than three times, and most recent graduates would consider Beijing, Shanghai, Yunnan, Hainan, and Suzhou and Hangzhou as their top tourist destinations. So, this time in Hangzhou, I was thinking of visiting the Xiaoshu Hall of the male god Gao Xiaosong. We need to make an appointment in advance for the Xiaoshu Library. We have made an online reservation for entry on May 3rd at 12:00 noon. So we decided to book a high-speed train ticket from Ningbo to Hangzhou based on this time period. One hour's time is 71 yuan per person, and then transfer to the subway+bus to reach the location of Xiaoshuguan - Liangzhu Cultural and Art Center (located in the suburbs of Hangzhou). The subway ends here at the terminal station, and when it comes out, there is a large ruin. Then, we need to transfer to a bus to reach the destination.
Unexpectedly, the architectural design of the Liangzhu Cultural and Art Center was so stunning that it surprised me first
The Liangzhu area actually has a deep cultural color and is a Neolithic site, so a Liangzhu museum has been specially erected in Liangzhu for introduction. Next to the museum is the Liangzhu Cultural and Art Center, and the Xiaoshu Museum is located inside this art center.
Originally, the Liangzhu Cultural and Art Center was designed by Japanese architectural master Tadao Ando, a master who enjoys interacting with light and shadow. He is skilled in using light and shadow to create artistic conception for buildings, and is also skilled in industrial style cool and cool tones. His unique style of clear water modeling is even more impressive.
The Liangzhu Cultural and Art Center is divided into three functional blocks. The south side is the exhibition building with the function of an art museum, the north side is the classroom building with educational functions such as a training room, and the middle side is the cultural building with the functions of a small theater, a reading hall, and a library. The three buildings are arranged under the large roof in a three character layout. In terms of design philosophy, the Liangzhu Cultural and Art Center creatively integrates Eastern aesthetics and Western architectural theory, perfectly portraying the spatial concept of "emotion based" by Japanese master architect Tadao Ando. The entire building places great emphasis on the intrinsic connection between humans, architecture, and nature, and is one of Ando's representative works in recent years. Tadao Ando creates rich spaces with simple language and introduces abstract elements from nature, making the spatial experience infectious.
The foot traffic here is not low, and there are non-stop check-in tourists who come from afar
Entering the city, you can see all the logos of the cooperating institutions
It seems that various cultural courses are often fully arranged here, so let's learn more.
There is also a coffee shop on the first floor, located in the same area as cultural and creative products.
This spiral staircase has a strong industrial color tone. Light shines down from above, and as the spiral staircase moves, you can feel the light constantly moving with you, becoming the preferred place for everyone to queue up for photos.
The logo of the Cultural and Art Center is prominently displayed on the wall, making it a great place to take photos.
I still have a bit of a fondness for this master. I missed the opportunity to visit his designed Church of Light in Osaka in April this year, which was a pity. This spiral staircase leads directly to the parking lot.
The first floor platform is really spacious, with a funnel-shaped shape that is very vivid. The front is wide and the back is relatively narrow
In Tadao Ando's series of architectural works, the shaping of spatial environment and the creation of spatial atmosphere by light are reflected. As he said, "In architectural space, a beam of light stays on the surface of an object, casting shadows in the background. As time changes and seasons change, the intensity of light changes, and the image of the object also changes."
This staircase happened to meet two little girls wearing ballet taking photos here, and I called it the Dance of Light.
This open space uses the effects of light and shadow in invisibility, making the photos vivid and beautiful, with a strong sense of three dimensionality.
Tadao Ando captures the ubiquitous light, allowing pedestrians to experience the changes of time and space in this unchanging building material. Furthermore, building entities are used to separate light, making it appear like a volumetric object.
Tadao Ando once said, "In today's world filled with uniform light, I still pursue the mutual infiltration between light and darkness. In the darkness, light shines with jewel like beauty, hollowing out darkness and penetrating our bodies, bringing life into the place."
In the center of the building enclosed by glass, such an open space leaks out, like a hole hollowed out by light.
The aluminum metal roof resembles the large wings of an airplane, showcasing a modern atmosphere.
Outside the Cultural and Art Center, there is abundant vegetation, and this is the Sakura Avenue (designed by the Japanese, who truly love cherry blossoms). The entire roof is surrounded by over 100 Yoshino Sakura trees, but unfortunately, the flowering period is very short, only at the end of March each year, with a 7-10 day blooming period.
Transportation: Liangzhu Station (terminus) on Metro Line 2, then take bus 389 and it's only 2 stops away
Hangzhou - Xiaoshuguan
The ultimate goal of this trip is it - Xiaoshu Hall. I'm here, curator Gao Xiaosong. This library requires advance booking, and on-site registration is also acceptable. You only need to swipe your ID when entering, but there are restrictions on the flow of people and time, and waiting may not be ethical. It is recommended to book in advance.
The book on the golden wall at the entrance is displayed with books written by Gao Xiaosong himself - "The Wild History of Fish and Sheep" and "Xiao Shuo".
The entire Xiaoshu Hall is two floors high. The first thing I saw was a french window, a row of tables and chairs, and bookshelves scattered among the libraries. It is said that Gao Xiaosong selected these books himself, and each one is classic.
This is known as the "Most Beautiful Paradise Library"
There is a six meter high bookshelf, which connects the two floors into one. The bookshelf blurs the existence of the wall, allowing people to completely immerse themselves in the world of books and forget that this is the indoor space.
The staircase connecting the first and second floors is not only an important tool for going up and down, but also a way for you to access the books on the high-altitude bookshelf.
The reservation system with a daily flow limit of 300 people ensures that the museum is not overcrowded or noisy. More than 10 wooden bookshelves towered into the roof.
To enter the library, you first need to register your online reservation information at the front desk and obtain a reader's card for the "Xiaoshu Library". This is all free. Friends or elderly people who are inconvenient to access the internet can give priority to entering the museum. With this reader ID, you can stay for a whole day and even come back in after going out to eat. But remember to return your documents when leaving.
There is a shallow water outside the floor window, with tables and chairs, sofas, and floor tatami cushions provided in the museum. Although many tourists are taking photos, they are all light handed and will not disturb people who are really reading.
There are over 50000 books in total, all selected under the guidance of Gao Xiaosong. There is a dedicated children's reading area on the second floor.
It is considerate that although beverages, food, and bags cannot be brought into the museum, there is free drinking water inside.
Flipping through a book that I have at home - "Interview Records of the 1980s" is a classic book.
In fact, due to the restrictions on foot traffic and more available seats, it is really possible to calm down and read books, not just for taking photos. I read here for at least half an hour before going out, after all, time in Hangzhou is limited, so the time left for reading is already very luxurious.
In addition to providing reading functions, the Xiaoshu Library will have more diverse functions in the future, such as inviting industry renowned intellectuals, writers, entrepreneurs, and friends to open book lists for readers. Next, a "Companion Reader Program" will be launched, and Gao Xiaosong himself is the number 001 Companion Reader.
"In the first half of my life, I traveled far and wide, wandering the rivers and lakes, and met many people. In the second half of my life, I used these accumulated networks and resources to open a library and conduct research," said Gao Xiaosong.
Next time if you go to Beijing, make sure to visit his miscellaneous library.
Hangzhou - Three major temples in the suburbs of Hangzhou
Take Line 2 back to the main urban area of Hangzhou and head towards the vicinity of the three major temples in the West Lake area. The area around the three major temples in the suburbs of Hangzhou.
The most famous temple in this area is Lingyin Temple, which is also the most popular one. We looked at the door, forget it.
Actually, I don't think it's necessary to enter a temple. The area around the temple is very comfortable just by walking. It's lush, with various courtyards, small bridges, and flowing water. There are also various tea rooms and homestays, which are very quiet and comfortable.
Walking along Tianzhu Road from the gate of Lingyin Temple, the first stop is Fajing Temple. Fajing Temple, also known as Lower Tianzhu among the three temples in Tianzhu, is the oldest among the three temples, built over 1600 years ago. However, it was destroyed during the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty and later rebuilt. Prior to 1949, most of the buildings in the temple were damaged, and it was not until 1982 that reconstruction began gradually. After seven years of repair, the new hall was finally renovated. Currently, most of the buildings we see were rebuilt at that time.
Fajing Temple is currently the only female temple in Hangzhou. It has always been a place for literati and literati to worship or admire Buddhism when they come to Hangzhou. Among them, Li Bai's "Farewell to Cui Twelve Visits to Tianzhu Temple" praised it as "still hearing about Tianzhu Temple, dreaming of embracing the East and Yue", which is known as Xia Tianzhu.
There are many famous temples in Hangzhou, which have become famous tourist attractions and historical sites.
The temples in this area have yellow walls.
Shengyin Temple: Located at the foot of Gushan Mountain in Hangzhou, Shengyin Temple used to be the palace of Emperor Shengzu of the Qing Dynasty. It was renamed Shengyin Temple during the reign of Emperor Yongzheng. The scenery here is beautiful, the architecture is magnificent, and many precious cultural relics are collected.
Faxi Temple: Faxi Temple is located on the Tianzhu Mountain in Hangzhou. There are three famous temples, Faxi Temple, Fajing Temple, and Fajing Temple, which have been around for over 1000 years. In history, these three temples are known as the Tianzhu Buddhist Kingdom and have a strong Buddhist cultural atmosphere.
Jingci Temple: Jingci Temple is a famous temple in Hangzhou, and the scenic spot of West Lake, Nanping Evening Bell, refers to this place. Due to the loud sound of the bells in the temple, "Nanping Evening Bell" has become one of the "Ten Scenic Spots of West Lake".
Lingyin Temple: This temple is mainly composed of the Heavenly King Hall, the Shakya ManiHall, Herbalist Hall, Five Hundred Arhats Hall, Huayan Pavilion and other buildings. The abbot now is Master Guangquan.
We just walk and stop here casually, and there is no strong purpose to insist on visiting every temple.
After strolling around this ancient temple, the appearance is almost in time for the sunset.
Hangzhou - Abutlamb Octagonal Cup Coffee
The last check-in spot before taking the high-speed train back to Ningbo is Abutlam Octagonal Cup Coffee. Drink this cup of coffee before leaving.
La Marzocco's coffee machine, EK43's bean grinder, and Bonavita's hand brewer can basically be considered the top configuration of Hangzhou coffee shops.
Several octagonal cup coffee shops have been opened in Hangzhou. This shop is located in the West Lake scenic area and closes at 18pm.
In an octagonal cup caf é, you will find that many of the products in the shop are packaged in octagonal cups, which seems to have helped me find its unique features that match the name of the shop. Being stable and steady, making coffee may be the true attitude with such a down-to-earth feeling.
We have also produced many peripheral cultural and creative products.
In addition to providing coffee, this is also the coffee shop I have seen that offers shepherd's purse and shredded pork mixed with Sichuan (stir fried noodles).
My little sister is very enthusiastic about asking you about your coffee needs and making recommendations.
Abutlamb Octagonal Cup CoffeeThe design of the cup is also very interesting, it is the pattern of a temple in West Lake, Hangzhou!
Hangzhou - Tibetan Japanese cuisine
Recommend a Japanese cuisine from Xiacheng District, Hangzhou called - Tibetan Japanese Cuisine. 398 yuan/set meal for two, very delicious.
Address: No. 11 Taohuahe Lane, Wulin Road (300 meters west of Guoda City Square, 200 meters from Hangzhou Building) (400 meters north of Queen's Park, 800 meters from Kerry Center, in the alley opposite the Wulin Pharmacy in East China), is a small branch road of a residential community (walking 420m from Exit D of Wulinmen Station on Metro Line 2).
Tibetan Japanese cuisine is a perfectly hidden tavern. The lobby on the first floor is surrounded by about ten positions in front of the on-site cooking counter. For single people, it is recommended to choose this position. There are several private rooms on the second floor, suitable for four or more people.
Hangzhou - Bitao Xiaoguan
This is a unique restaurant that locals brought us to eat. It was built in the 1920s in the Shimizu Diamond Warehouse Gate building, a true 100 year old house. The retro feeling honed by time makes the decoration of antique buildings incomparable! The way to truly bring the old house to life is to make it functional! Eating here is really great!
In an old house near the bustling city of West Lake, take a break from the hustle and bustle. The proper style of the Republic of China, without the deliberate sense of conflict, truly allows one to feel the sedimentation of history in this old house. The style is very beautiful, and taking photos casually creates beautiful scenery. Various exquisite details show the polishing of time, giving it a feeling of old Shanghai.
Nested in ancient furniture, it feels like time goes back, even the bathroom is so beautiful.
I have seen his introduction in the newspaper before, stating that it is a collection of old antiques collected by the shop owner one by one, with details reflecting quality.
It is said to be the most artistic restaurant in Hangzhou.
At the intersection of West Lake Avenue and Ding'an Road, there is a row of clear water brick and stone warehouse gate buildings built in the 1920s, and Bitao Xiaoguan is one of them.
Crossing the worn old bluestone thresholds, one feels as if they have arrived at a wealthy family in old Shanghai - old wooden doors, windows, bronze faucet handles, old wooden flooring, colorful wooden walls and cabinets, old-fashioned ceiling fans, old radios, English telephones, old-fashioned seat clocks and hanging clocks, old wooden boxes, antique mahjong tables everywhere, and old Shanghai bank lights.
Peach, not luxurious, but warm and romantic; Bitao is simple and adheres to a subtractive culinary philosophy of "good ingredients, delicious food naturally comes". The small restaurant aims to recreate the wonderful "home flavor" in the memory of taste buds: choose the best ingredients, reject MSG, and reject all unhealthy seasonings. I can only say that every dish I eat is so delicious without MSG, it's really amazing!
There are more than one Bitao Xiaoguan in Hangzhou, but only this one is located in a truly century old building. Even though the decoration of other branches is still a replica of the retro style of the Republic of China, there is clearly less flavor in the new buildings in the commercial district, and the antique style is different from the real antique style.
WeChat ordering, the first and second floors are the dining area, and the third floor (attic) is the waiting area. Anyway, this store is always in line.
Every painting on the wall is a trace of time, as if traveling from a big city to the Republic of China in an instant. The unique style of Shanghai in the 1920s and 1930s struck.
The decoration of the Bitao small hall is retro and artistic, with a glass entrance separating the inside and outside. The first floor is a small compartment with black and white floors, and the second floor has a smoking area.
This Shikumen old mansion, which dates back to the Republic of China era, is designed with Western elements integrated into Chinese historical architecture, and can be freely mixed and matched.
The perfect combination of art and cuisine in time and space travel makes it hard to imagine such a quiet and unique small villa in the city center. The retro and artistic environment can allow you to calm down and feel your own little charm.
There is a barrier formed by merging four doors at the entrance, all of which are introductions to the dishes in the store.
Not only can you have afternoon tea and coffee here, but you can also have dinner.
Thick vintage style, old-fashioned wooden strip flooring paired with colorful wood walls. I really like the style here!
The store is adorned with various exquisite and elegant decorations, and the atmosphere of petty bourgeoisie fills the entire museum.
The stairs creaked as they walked, it was a true echo of time!
The wooden table with white walls and antique bronze color, bowl spouts and teapots seem to have been in use from the 1980s to the present day, with paint chipping everywhere, full of a strong sense of history.
There are many vintage fabric chandeliers
Fresh shrimp, ice vegetables, mango salad is an appetizer and very delicious!
The portion size of the dish is quite sufficient, and the shrimp sauce made the water spinach taste like seafood
The dishes here are a fusion of Chinese and Western cuisine, featuring not only authentic Chinese dishes but also Western dishes such as pizza.
Thai curry beef brisket, the curry is quite good and Thai style. In addition to beef brisket, there are also many broccoli that are very flavorful.
When you come to Hangzhou, how can you not eat Dongpo Braised Pork once: fat but not greasy.
This dish is my favorite. The pumpkin's smooth texture melts in the mouth and is super delicious.
The signature yellow croaker rice noodles are made by frying the yellow croaker first, resulting in a fragrant, tender, and smooth meat. With some snow vegetables added, the soup is extremely delicious.
Store name: Bitao Xiaoguan
Price: 100 per capita
Business hours: AM11:00-PM12:00
Address: No. 232 Xihu Avenue, Shangcheng District, Hangzhou City (near Huansha Road)
Transportation: Take Metro Line 1 to Ding'an Road Station and get off. Walk about 150 meters from Exit B.
Hangzhou - a2 Coffee
This is a small caf é discovered by chance while strolling around Yintai in77 by West Lake in Hangzhou, on B1 of the basement floor. A small family with only 4 seats at the bar and 2 small tables+4 chairs.
The overall color tone is a strong contrast of yellow and black, giving people a youthful and energetic feeling. Moreover, the store manager was particularly careful to create cartoon characters for several partners, which had a strong sense of identity. It looked like a small coffee shop with a group of young people born in the 1990s.
There are not too many varieties, and it is also a route of buying and going as soon as there are many.
The small shop is filled with photos of Korean idols used to make cup covers (I don't even know who they are). It is said that they have been changing to different celebrities for a long time. Haha, maybe it's also to attract some fans and stimulate them to make purchases. I see that they often organize offline celebrity support activities.
I ordered a hot latte, the taste is good, and the price is not cheap. Perhaps in the largest and most expensive commercial district of Hangzhou.
Specific address: Room 108, B1/F, Hubin Yintai in77D District, No. 239 Yan'an Road, Hangzhou City
Transportation strategy: You can get off at Longxiang Road Station on Hangzhou Metro Line 1 and reach the C/D/E exit
Previous Article:In late autumn, at Tonglu, in front of the courtyard, the falling petals are colorful. Slow down and get along with the mountains and wilderness
